One of my favorite places to order from. The food is fresh and usually really good. On busy days, expect to wait--sometimes over an hour past your scheduled pickup time, even if you order ahead. They do have a waiting area/dine-in space, though I've never actually seen anyone eat inside. Customer service is overall good; staff are sympathetic about long waits and appreciate your support. I just hope the timing improves, because the food keeps me coming back. ---- I've noticed that wait times at this restaurant are getting increasingly long. I placed my order at 10:00 AM with a pickup time of 1:00 PM. At 1:30 PM, I received a notification that my order was ready, so I arrived promptly--but as of 3:00 PM, I am still waiting. Grabbed lunch from Lickle Jamaica. It's a small , no-frills. restaurant with a few tables and chairs for waiting or for eating. (They had Halloween decorations up which were cute.) I was greeted warmly by the young lady at the register. Placed my order and waited inside for it. It only took about 10 mins and everything was hot and fresh. We had the catfish lunch and the chicken wing lunch. The sides were macaroni and cheese, cabbage and rice and peas. The catfish and jerk chicken were tender and very flavorful. But spicy unless you add the jerk sauce. The macaroni and cheese was very good. Very cheesy but not overly cheesy. The cabbage was average. I added a little seasoning to mine. The rice and peas had a little "gravy" on it which made them really good and not dry. Overall the meals were a great choice for lunch. Tasty and filling. read more

I placed a delivery order through a third-party vendor today and it took over two hours for this restaurant to prepare a lunch order. I felt terrible for the delivery driver because he had to wait an hour for the food to be ready and he must have missed out on other deliveries as a result of this delay. When we arrived at the restaurant, we weren't even able to enter the doors, because there was a group of men yelling back and forth with some of the workers inside. Despite this, they moved, and we were able to enter to stand in line to order food. Not long after, these men re-entered and made threats towards staff and continuously entered with OPEN alcohol, visibly drunk and agitated, still making threats towards staff. It's in Maywood on 5th ave . I've seen Panhandlers but most are here for some authentic food . There are tables inside but it's small and I believe most people get takeout. I highly recommend ordering ahead through yelp on grub hub . Or they take phone orders . They packaged my food nicely . Brown chicken stew , jerk Chicken, catfish. And all the sides are what I would describe as " as good as it gets ." This place sells a high volume of food . So sometimes they can run out . I can't see what's going on in the kitchen with plexiglass covering the cashier but chicken is smoked and seasoned to perfection. This food was great. The best jerk chicken I've had. My daughter's oxtail was delicious. The sauces are fantastic. Picked up a beef patty for $3, it's very tasty and quite filling. i had mac and cheese that was very good, and plantains, which were more of a side dish than the really sweet fried plantains that are sometimes served. I don't know if they have different cooks for different days of the week or what, all I can say is some days it's right on-the-spot but other times the food is just bland ( no spice at all). Yesterday I ordered the chicken dinner and not only was everything bland, they didn't even give me the jerk sauce that usually comes with the meal nor did they give me the extra sauce I paid for. The worst thing for me is when you try supporting businesses in your community, this is usually the result..they get comfortable and start giving subpar service.
