Groovy makes absolutely Fantastic Burgers. There. I said it. They're probably the best burger food truck in the Houston area, although there's not a lot to choose from. I haven't had better burgers from food trucks anywhere, actually. Lankford and Angie's and Tornado might still be my faves in town, but in terms of food trucks, this is #1 all the way. We have a lot of amazing Mexican food trucks and Central American food trucks around Houston, some good Middle Eastern ones, and then there's a few amazing trucks from other regions. But when it comes to big juicy delicious burgers - not to mention keeping it within the $10 price range - this place has it down. Not among my 5 favourite burgers in Houston, but definitely top 10, which is very good, not far off the highest of the high on the list, and I would highly recommend giving them a try to anybody. But trust me - stick to their burgers rather than their chicken sandwiches. For me, the Chilli Burger is the stand out of the menu, as it is wet and delicious and perfect, Barbi also loves the standard burger which is excellent. But you should try whatever you're in the mood for and decide for yourself. And... Went on Yelp, searched up places near by and the burgers here on the cover photos looked good so we decided to try it. Pulled up around midnight to two guys chilling on their table. As we got out the car both of them stood up and I'm assuming the owner/ most definitely the chef walks up to me and calls me Habibi, in that moment, I knew my brother and I picked the right spot to check out. Ordering was fairly easy I got the Mushroom burger with everything except their Onions and my brother got their chicken sandwich with coleslaw. When we brought up how the coleslaw was made (because everyone always adds different things) he said it came with onions on it. My brother isn't a fan of onions and told him and the chef told him I can take it off for you no problem. 10/10 Food comes through, I don't know what their groovy sauce Is tbh but it's like a garlicky sauce? Not sure how to explain it but get it anyways, crazy good. My brother is somewhat picky but when I asked him to review the chicken sandwich, cause it was huge! He said it was one of the best chicken sandwiches he's ever had and that's a big statement if you know him. If I did have to complain for whatever reason, I'd just say the burger patty was a little thin but at this point you're just cherry picking trying to find something to complain about. I was invited to a birthday party and they had the Groovy Burger truck there for the party. At first it wasn't much to look at. But the staff was awfully nice. They try to cater to what you want on your order. The food takes a bit but they cooked everything fresh to order and beside we weren't going anywhere just sitting in the front porch watching them cook the food. Now the food come and it didn't disappoint. They tasted pretty good and the fries were great. We order burgers and some tacos. And they were all good. The food truck has a good number of options. I did decide to go with the spicy chicken sandwich because it's been the news around town after Mico's popped up. I did really like the chicken sandwich but in my opinion the beef patty was too thin even though it tasted great. I will definitely be pulling over for the chicken sandwich if I'm driving down westheimer. The spot can be tricky to find because there is not a cut in the median to access the food truck but it is between Fondren and Dunvale. If you're looking for amazing burgers in Houston, then this is the spot for you. Their Jalapeño Dreamer burger is definitely in my top 2 burgers of Houston and it's not number 2. It consists of a halal beef patty, some jalapeño ranch sauce that is unique and out of this world, and some crushed Doritos. During my last visit, I added halal bacon to my order and it paired perfectly with it. The best part is that this food truck is open late like until 3am on the weekends. TL;DR Version Inconvenient experience for pretty okay food. You don't know if it's open or if it closed early, you don't know if certain foods are being offered that day according to what the owner decides to cook, and the food takes a while to get out to you. But the food is pretty good. Full Review: After the first time trying this place and finding an entirely empty food truck and leaving after waiting a while, we finally made our way back. We were looking forward to their rice bowls! I saw someone posted about a double chicken rice bowl and was stoked to try it! When we both asked for a rice bowl, the owner said that he didn't have any of those. We asked if he ran out, and he proceeded to inform us that certain things on his menu, like the rice dishes, are "special". When he has the rice, he offers them. When he doesn't make the rice, he doesn't. That was a big dissapointment because we came specifically for those bowls. We ordered burgers with fries instead, and waited nearly 20 minutes for our food to get out to us. The food itself was pretty solid, solid 7/10, and the Chili Burger was really spicy, a plus for me. The fries are also seasoned, which gives them a nice kick. But given that whole experience is such a hassle, the food didn't wow us enough to come back and deal with all that. read more

My family and I were starving and when we' reached the food truck was closed, but in the process of opening for service. We looked up their menu on Facebook prior to our arrival. The business owner, I think, his name is Mohammad, was very accommodating and made us a burger (that they had discontinued - spicy chicken with mushroom Alfredo sauce) just for us, since it was our first time trying them and first time in Houston! We waited about 15 - 20 minutes but when the burger arrived, it was all worth it! The flavors were fresh and it was served hot. So 1:48 am we get the munchies. We find this late night food truck, Groovy Burger & decide to give it a try. Not to far from where we live, so let's go. Upon arrival, parking was easy & area was clean & well lit. I ended up getting the Chicken Shawarma fries, pictured. Enough for 2 & delicious! Plenty of chicken, sauce & spice...perfect snack. My sons got the Jalapeño Dreamer & Spicy Chicken sandwich's. The dreamer, he said, will leave you dreaming for another one haha. He said wasn't to spicy just delicious. The Spicy Chicken sandwich, that I managed to snag a bite, is a must try! I will return sooner than later to get that sandwich for myself. It was delicious. This is one of my top 3 spots for halal beef burgers in Houston! I've been here many times and I've never left feeling unsatisfied. My favorite item is their jalapeño dreamer burger. Both the sauce and the chips in this burger really just tie it all together. They also offer add-ons like beef bacon which I appreciate! Other than that, I've tried the chicken shawarma arabi, spicy chicken sandwich, and shawarma fries. The shawarma fries are so filling, they could be an entree on their own! The shawarma arabi is really good and they give two sauces with it. They can also add french fries into the shawarma upon request (reminds me of shawarmas from Riyadh). My only complaint is that the garlic sauce that it comes with is not that flavorful. read more

The jalapeño burger was honestly a pretty decent aside from the fact that they used what seemed like Ruffles potato chips; it was an interesting addition. Overall, not disappointing. As for the Spicy Chicken Burger, the chicken could be likened to a soggy chicken tikka and was not a flattering flavor at all. I ate one bite and set it aside.
