Terrible experience with this restaurant. We ordered four grilled chicken Khao Man Gai dishes through Uber Eats. One of them had a serious food safety issue, and I received a refund for that item. I also called the restaurant to address the issue directly. The person who answered the phone suggested that the delivery driver might have put a bottle cap inside the rice box. I asked, "What would be the driver's intention in doing that? What would they gain from it?" She responded by saying that her kitchen staff would never do such a thing and offered a refund. She then continued to complain about having many problems with delivery drivers. I explained that, as a customer, I expect the restaurant to take food safety concerns seriously. If she suspects tampering by drivers, she should look into improving the packaging instead of deflecting blame. She wasn't open to hearing my concerns and ignored my question about why a delivery driver would tamper with the food. I also pointed out that the paper bag was stapled three times at the top and didn't appear to have been opened and resealed, making her theory unlikely. She was unapologetic and ended the call on me. This was my first time ordering from one of those ghost kitchens (wasn't aware that's what it was before we got there but we committed to it). Easy to order via the giant iPad kiosk and there was a friendly guy behind the counter checking in to see if we needed help. Our food was ready within 5 minutes. There was seating inside but the ambiance wasn't there, and it was murderously hot rendering the outdoor seating a non-option. I picked the standard crispy chicken with rice. I knew on the car ride home that this was going to be good because of the intoxicating smell alone. The chicken was crispy and hot when I picked it up (yes I sampled on the drive) and held up okay when I ate it a couple hours later. I preferred the chili sauce over the spicier thicker one. And the little portion of bitter melon soup broth was salty and refreshing. The rice was on the oily side but packed full of ginger and garlic flavor. Glad they included the fresh cucumber and cabbage to balance it. And like others said, the packaging here is great. The closed box is partially exposed to allow ventilation so nothing gets soggy, and the soup container was secured in plastic wrap. I noticed utensils were not included with mine but maybe it was an option on the kiosk I missed. My boyfriend got a cold teriyaki chicken bowl from a Hawaiian food vendor and he liked it (I preferred my Angry Mom). The employees are nice but they don't explain things well and so the whole process of getting your food and ordering is vague if it's your first time. I love Hainanese chicken and saw a post on Facebook about this new ghost kitchen. Ordering online was easy and simple. Got a mixed chicken meal for my family of 4 where it is clearly stated no cilantros due to food allergies. Received a text confirming my order and another when food was ready with its locker location. Drove 23 mins from Sugar Land to pick up. I even replied to the initial text stating no cilantros. Well, surprised when we opened these nicely packaged food. Disappointing that they didn't take food allergies seriously since lots of cilantros in all dishes except the 3 sauces. Needless to day, 2 out of 4 people couldn't eat due to that. I ended up getting pizzas. Hubby said overall flavor was good but the soft chicken was a bit dry. Crispy ones were a bit overcooked with burned ends. Unsure if this is an off night since most reviews were good. Just my luck! read more

I've eaten here twice and both times I've had issues. The first time I ordered from their website and picked it up from the cloud kitchen on Fairdale. These kitchens are setup for DoorDash, Uber Eats drivers not folks ordering and picking up for themselves. The person at the counter kept telling me to scan a code to get the order from a locker but I was not sent a code because I ordered from their website. They got that sorted out only to find that the locker assigned for my order was empty. Of course the cook in the Angry Moms Kitchen was no where to found. I did finally get my order but I waited over an hour for the cook to come back and remake it. All that being said since the food was just made it was delicious. Totally on point with the reviews and star rating here. The second time I went here the food was grossly overdone and inedible. It was like someone threw it in the fryer and forgot about it. The chicken thigh was bone dry, the skin was rock hard and the rice had large pieces of brown, shriveled ginger in it which I did not recall seeing the first time. Everything had to be thrown away and was a total waste of time and money. I can see they are capable of creating a tasty meal but they are not consistent and I don't play with my money like that. This was my first time trying Angry Mom's Kitchen and I was intrigued by the multiple restaurant/one venue idea. The ordering process was a bit confusing as there was no one at the counter when I first entered. After meandering around I got the gist. There are two kiosk/pads at the entrance for delivery personnel who check in to receive their prospective food orders, while walk ins proceed to the counter to enter which "restaurant" and subsequently what dishes they're ordering. Eventually a worker did come out and politely questioned which restaurant I was there for, mentioning there were some that were not in operation at that time. It's a ghost/cloud kitchen, so it's all Togo/takeaway). It took me a total of an hour to go grab it and drive back home. Was it worth the drive? You bet your sweet ass it was! Let's go onto a different paragraph for descriptions. The fried - The skin was super juicy even after driving 30-40 minutes away thanks to traffic. The chicken was super tender and moist which was great with that crunch. The rice does have bits of ginger which enhances and cleanses the palate to give you more flavor bombs for more chicken to rice ratio. Winter Melon Soup - it was a tad underwhelming so I put it back on the stove and let it reduce a tad bit more to give it more flavor to it. Try it, you'll thank me later. The soft - tender and delicious. I would prefer the chicken to have a tad more plumpness texture wise, but that's just my opinion. Either way, it's still delicious in that regard. Great ghost kitchen take out option for Thai style chicken rice. This place is the best "modern" option for chicken rice that I've found outside of Chinatown. The crispy chicken option is also tasty. Chicken is not dry and the soy dipping sauce is delicious. The curry sauce was spicy and flavorful but not aligned with my palate preference. Price is also reasonable considering the location. Follow the signs to find your order on the tablet in order to open the locker containing your food. Then when its done, you get a text telling you the locker to open to get your order. The order comes nicely packaged to go. Picked up a mixed family size chicken. It came with a big foil pan that had the ginger rice and boiled chicken, as well as a separate box of the crispy chicken strips, as well as 3 cups of wintermelon soup. The crispy (fried) chicken strips were pretty tasty. The boiled chicken tastes like something I can make after boiling my own chicken for 30 min at home. The boiled chicken wasnt very tender or flavorful. The ginger rice was ok, the eggrolls were also nothing special. The whole thing was about $55, which is a reasonable value imo. The rice is infused with just right amount of ginger and not too soft not too dry. Angry Mom surely has brought this Bangkok's street food dish to Houston!
