I've been going to The Pet Hospitals - Downtown for years now and I can't praise them enough. The location is great and parking is easy despite being downtown. The inside is nice, modern, and clean. The staff is always so friendly and kind. The folks who greet you when you walk in and help with payment and appointments, the nurses and techs, and the doctors... everyone there is so kind and welcoming. They have always treated my cats as if they were their own pets. I unfortunately had to put one of my cats down there and the love and compassion they showed me and my pet was so appreciated. They often make processes that are traditionally difficult more easy. I have to buy medicated prescription food and the vet is able to connect with Amazon so I can order the food on my phone and have it sent to my door without needing to go to the vet. They are just amazing. We've seen Doctor Haddock the most but everyone we've met with has been exceptional. You can trust this place with your fur babies. They will treat them like family. read more

I've been bringing my pets to this hospital for over 10 years, and the care has always been excellent. The staff is consistently friendly, professional, and genuinely caring. Most recently, my 9-year-old Shih Tzu mix had a dental cleaning, and Dr. Rucker was amazing. He kept me updated on his dental health, explained everything clearly, and gave great advice on how to take care of his teeth moving forward. A friend asked the other day if Orson freaked out when I took him to the vet. He doesn't. He's excited to go to the vet. He cries if they take too long to come and get him out of the car. Everyone loves him and takes such good care of him. When the pandemic started, they changed operating procedures to keep their staff safe, which meant that parents couldn't go in with their fur babies. I was concerned that he would be scared and was nervous about not being able to be with him. The vets always come out to the car to let me know what's going on and what they're doing for him, to hear any concerns I may have, and to communicate to ensure that we're on the same page. A few weeks ago, we saw some of the staff members out in public. They recognized Orson and he was giving them so many kisses. It was just more reassurance that they were taking great care of my baby. We've been with this location for 2 years and have even left him for doggy day care a few times; I drive from Bartlett to take him Downtown for his appointments. My cat developed a little rash over the weekend, so I called The Pet Hospitals (downtown location) on Monday and they got me in right away at 1PM! I had used Banfield at Petsmart before because it was close to my work, but I wanted something closer to home with a better community feel to it and several friends recommended The Pet Hospitals. The wait time wasn't long at all and both the vet tech and Dr. Courtney were friendly, nice and knowledgeable; they were both very understanding and unphased by my growling, hissing cat! They sent me home with everything I needed and even called two days later to see how we were doing and we were happy to report the rash is clearing up! I have three cats total but when I first moved here to Memphis three years ago I had only one and soon after I got a second one from a shelter. Unfortunately I found out my second cat from the shelter had ringworm and gave it to the first cat.. this started a big headache with the cats having to take pills, Sulfur baths and culture checks about every two weeks. Dr. Courtney was very good at relaxing me and reassuring me that we'd get it under control. Let me just add that my cats absolutely adore her and could tell they were calm throughout the entire process. After a couple weeks of blood sweat and tears the ringworm was gone!!!! (Just recently added the third cat and he loves her) I highly recommend taking your pets here! The staff is amazing and I can't complement Dr. Courtney enough!! I even moved to Southhaven,MS and went to one another vet due to it being closer, I was unhappy with them and quickly made the decision to switch back to seeing Dr. Courtney even with it being a 30min drive, I promise you it's worth it! We adopted a sweet baby kitten from someone who found her on the side of Perkins rd and needed to get her shots and checked before bringing her around our other baby. The people at the pet hospital were so sweet and easy to work with! They got her in thirty minutes after my initial phone call! I am highly upset with the way they groomed my Golden Doodle. He has pretty curly hair that I brush daily to prevent matting, so the groomers will not shave him. I brought him in and spoke directly to the groomer and asked for him NOT to be shaved and just trimmed. She verbally confirmed, and felt his fur saying, "Oh he is not bad at all we can definitely keep him this way", speaking on the length of his fur. I go to pick him up and he is completely shaved and they messed his face up. Making him unrecognizable. This is just complete laziness on not wanting to brush and have as much hair to groom. When we first moved to Memphis and took our cat to the Pet Hospitals, we were truly blown away. I was referred to Dr. Noseda and I'm very glad that I brought my puppy into her care! They offer a "puppy package" for shots that cost $99 when other clinics would charge five times more than that cost. She recommended heartworm medicine and flea/tick medicine that wasn't outrageously priced either, she made sure that it was a good fit for my breed and her small size!
