She had been previously diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disorder that affected her nail beds, causing them to crumble and deteriorate. It was a very painful condition. Sadie was on antibiotics and two supplements for almost a year*( which Sadie did NOT like). I returned to the Clinic last week for a nail trim. When Dr. Parker examined her nails, she determined they looked great and we could discontinue the supplements and antibiotics YEA! Katie trimmed her nails and then "Dremeled" them. *(Sadie always requests to see Katie) and lastly, addressing her recent flea problem, prescribed *Nexgard. Dr. Parker took the extra time to thoroughly address my concerns about possible side effects. I felt the level of treatment justfied the final amount charged. Kudos!

I went in once and they told me she needed eye drops and gave me two kinds and some oral medicine. Told me I should keep her in a big plastic cone on her at all times and also gave me two oral medications. When we got home my dog hated the cone and she walked into everything with it and knocked all our stuff around. I didn't see her rubbing at her eyes much so I took it off. The next week we were told the scratch had not gone down in size at all. They said it was probably because of not wearing the cone and she had to be rubbing her eyes. I said I'm no doctor but I think it might have something to do with the fact I have to wrestle her and pry her eyes open 8 times a day and she hates it and resists. And I don't always have someone to help assist. But. They told me they recommended a more aggressive approach and needed to sedate her and clean out her eyes to remove debris or something snd I said 'okay.' They also asked about her heart worm shots which were not up to date so I said sure give her the heartworm stuff while she is in there. I got that bill and it was $800. They added a third eye drop medication. So I'm $1,000 in on the bills so far which was pretty much my entire budget for my dog at that time. I go back the third week in a row. They told me again that the scratch had not gotten any smaller in size and they said they recommended a (dog) eye specialist and it might require some kinds of advanced procedures to which I replied "sounds expensive." They said yes, it would in fact be expensive. I said well at this time I am not in a position to do that and could I please maybe just refill my prescription for now. They pressured me and said that she might lose her eye. That there was no way to make her comfortable that she was basically in pain at all times. I acknowledged that I heard what the doctor was saying, but that I just was not currently in a position to spend thousands or even hundreds more at that time. The doctor then suggested I give my dog up to the Humane Society. She said that there aren't any programs to help dogs like mine, and that it might be best to think about giving her up to the humane society shelter. This is where I begin to feel very upset because I have had my dog for ten years since she was a small puppy. She has two torn ACLs. She has arthritis and lumps in her belly. She is an old dog. It would cost me a fortune to tackle all of that with the prices they suggested. I felt like I was being manipulated into believing I was a bad person and an irresponsible pet owner because I couldn't spend thousands more for my dogs eye. After they left the room, they sent a (third) person into the room who suggested twice that I use their credit program and accumulate debt to pay for my dogs eye specialist and procedures. I do not want my dog to suffer ever. But I was very unhappy with the tone in which I was spoken to. This is Memphis, Tennessee, where you can see 100 dogs roaming the main streets on any given day with much worse medical problems than my dog have. While I wish very badly I could alleviate all the suffering my dog experiences, I found it hard to believe the doctor suggested I give my dog away to the humane society. I know that these people have studied pet medicine and know way more than I do. But I thought it was pretty insulting that they suggested I give my dog up because I couldn't spend any more money with them and their network. I wish them well but I will never go back. In the last couple days my dog has been way happier. I am still applying the eye drops but only twice a day with lots of treats involved. She is playing, trotting around the backyard, and smiling big. I know my dog very well and it was miserable eating pain pills and getting her eyes pryed open and squirted 8 times a day. I love my dog very much and it was hard to not become very rude when they suggested I give it up for adoption.

It was a quick and easy drive for me and upon arrival there was plenty of parking and NO traffic to worry about! The entire staff is so pleasant here. It's a small and intimate animal clinic, but just the right size! It's not chaotic and appears to be the most calm office I've ever visited. We did not have to wait long to be seen and the vet and assistants were so pleasant! My baby was extremely comfortable around them and was extra calm when getting his nails trimmed. It's so nice to have such a wonderful animal clinic is my backyard. Highly recommend!!

Dr. Lynn Svoboda was great!. She was compassionate, related well to Lucy and listened well to Lucy's HX and the meds Lucy had not tolerated previously. She hydrated Lucy with hydration, x-rayed to R/O nothing had been swallowed; gave anti-nausea med; and suggested we return t'row for 1 additional hydration tx; gave some helpful ideas re feeding. I scheduled a spay a month ago & I've spoken to their staff about 2 to 3 times before the appointment. They all told me to come between 7am to 8am. Apparently, the time I was told was inaccurate. I would not find this out until after they made me and my baby girl wait outside, in almost 90 degree weather, without acknowledging us. They literally continued on as if we were nothing but air. Once inside, I stated how upset I was. Only to be met with "The times are on the door" (regardless of what I was told by staff) & "Are you going to get services done today or not?" I could see not letting us in until you opened but not even speaking through the door? And once I was inside, why not just say "I'm so sorry for the miscommunication"? This could've been handled differently. As for Dr. Lebel, he didn't even try to rectify the situation at all. He didn't even speaking to me after staff had made him aware of the situation. Shannon and Ladonna were very nice to the clients that I seen them interact with this morning. Just not me. Then again, I am not the same race as those clients either. I am highly disappointed.

Then the nurse came into our room checked Sophie's weight blood work & physical health. After a traumatic episode we had with her a previous night. Sophie got a clean bill of health after what she swallowed over the weekend was out of her system & she is been healthy and happy ever since. Dr. Lebel staff has been helpful & we would love to thank them & we will be returning with our other dogs when it's their time to get a check up. I would also like to say thank you Dr. Lebel for being such an awesome vet to my gf & her families pet. I'll be looking to taking my next puppy there for Veterinary procedures.

My poor Boston Terrier Moby had been suffering from an eye injury (corneal ulcer in his right eye)…read morefor over three months. We'd seen almost every vet in Memphis and tried every medication there is (at least that's how it felt anyways lol) before we were finally referred to Dr. Jennifer Huey for eye surgery at MVS. Let me just say, I am SO HAPPY WE WERE. The second I got on the phone to schedule his appointment, I felt relieved... like I knew Moby would be in good hands and get the best possible treatment. Dr. Huey was VERY THOROUGH, helpful, and answered ALL OF MY QUESTIONS. She didn't rush and is sure to communicate clearly by using pictures, writing things down, and thoroughly explaining conditions and procedures verbally so no matter your learning style, you'll walk out of there with an understanding of the basics. Moby's surgery was a great success and I'm happy to report he's currently living a much better quality of life. He's happier, he's playing again, and he no longer needs to take eye medication 4x daily or visit the vet twice a week. He's just a healthy, happy boy again all thanks to Dr. Jennifer and her staff.

I had tried to book an appointment online, but it didn't go through. When we showed up in person, the staff was very understanding and still worked us in right away. They were kind, patient, and clearly experienced with animals. The vet took the time to examine our turtle and explain what might be going on with him. I really appreciated how calmly they handled everything and how they answered our questions. It made a stressful situation feel much easier. We'll be picking him up tomorrow at 11 a.m., and we're very grateful for the care they've given him so far.

I had a deeply upsetting experience at Berclair Animal Hospital with Dr. Snow regarding the…read moreeuthanasia of my nearly 12-year-old cat. My cat suddenly became severely lethargic, refused food and water, couldn't use the litter box, and cried out in pain whenever he tried to move. As a former vet tech and wildlife rehabilitation student, I thoroughly palpated my cat at home and found no obstruction. Upon arrival, Dr. Snow demonstrated a shockingly poor bedside manner. He didn't personally inquire about my cat's recent behavior or history; instead, he delegated these questions to his vet tech, only to later disregard the provided information completely. He abruptly diagnosed kidney failure, urinary obstruction, and neurological distress and bluntly blamed me for my cat's condition, citing his overweight status--even though my cat had been overweight when I adopted him as an adult rescue. Financially, I clearly stated our $200 budget for immediate payment and requested options for billing or payment plans. Despite this, Dr. Snow insisted payment be made in full immediately, resulting in charges nearly $100 over our stated budget. He performed an unnecessary catheter placement procedure without my explicit consent, even after I had already signed paperwork authorizing euthanasia. Additionally, I signed paperwork for a paw print keepsake that I never received. Dr. Snow repeatedly pressed for payment while I was clearly distressed, trying to process the heartbreaking reality that my beloved cat wouldn't be coming home alive. To add insult to injury, he coldly mentioned cremation services would cost extra and wouldn't allow us to keep our pet's ashes. As a final, insensitive gesture after helping me bring my cat's body to the car, he casually asked how many cats I had left at home. After five years of trusting Dr. Snow with the care of my pets, I am deeply disappointed and heartbroken by this experience. His lack of compassion, professionalism, and sensitivity during one of the hardest moments for a pet owner was unacceptable. I strongly urge pet owners to reconsider trusting their pets to Berclair Animal Hospital and specifically Dr. Snow, especially during sensitive and critical situations.
