The Pet Palace in San Clemente is in the Albertson's shopping center across from the high school on Avenida Pico. She is really a great groomer. I have a small 3 pound maltese and every time I get her back from grooming they do a perfect job - I check all the details too, to make sure they did a thorough job and its always good every time. They do a perfect job with the cut as well and my little one always looks fantastic! Excellente service! I've been taking my two pups to The Pet Palace for baths and grooming approximately once every couple of months for the past three (3) years - nearly 20 visits in total. In most situations my dogs can be skittish, but they love the affection and attention they receive from the kind folks at The Pet Palace. The owner, Samantha, is my preferred dog groomer, hands down. The place is clean, tidy and cute. It's much nicer and more personal than the grooming stations at the big box stores. Kudos to Pet Palace! I called with a request to try to fit me in on a weekend day and to my delight they checked for cancellations and found Sunny Ray a slot. The groomer, sweet and patient, came out to meet him and displayed a lot of care in the brief "getting to know you" phase. He is always a rattled mess when I pick him up from grooming but this time he seemed calmer and I'll certainly take him back because of that. I have taken our two dogs, Tommy and Penny (Maltese Poodle and a Maltese Coton) to the Pet Palace for over 10 years. Tommy is very temperamental and jumpy. Samantha is the only groomer who has ever been able to work with him. I really appreciate her extra time and patience with him. wont be going back to pet palace. they are unorganized, rude and over charge. they dont know good customer service. said one thing, did another. rude to me over the phone. being treated badly was the worst part of it all . politeness goes a long way. but they are inconsistent all the way around. first time i went in they left my little ones tail so long i had to cut it myself. not very good cutters/groomers work there. and they expect to be paid high prices? they have an attitude of entitlement. i say they are inexperienced and need some better people skills. also go back to grooming school. one big disappointment. read more

Two thumbs way, way up! I have taken my dogs to a variety of groomers over the years. Before I found the Pet Palace I took one of our dogs to a vet in the area, who has a great reputation. My dog came back with cuts on her mouth from where the groomer put the strap. That was it for that groomer. Thumbs down! I really wanted to give this place a chance and support a local small business but after two tries I will never go back. The first time was an OK experience with curt service and an "ok" groom. The second time was a nightmare. They nicked my puppies nose while trimming it. When it got worse rather than better and I called to let them know they got completely defensive and said they would have done something if it were bleeding when he left. (what!?) The truth is they were in a total rush, did a bad job and then acted as if they couldn't discuss it without liability. Lesson learned, my fault for not complaining immediately and I should have listened to my daughter who said she thought the place was too dirty to take her puppy. The Pet Palace does a fantastic job grooming my toy poodle. I am often asked by strangers where I take my dog for grooming because he looks so cute! And just as important, my dog is happy there. He is a bit shy but when I drop him off he gives the girls kisses. I have been going to the Pet Palace for a few years now, after trying four other groomers. The others did an okay job, but my dog did not like them. I have always had a great experience at the Pet Palace and highly recommend them. read more

Pet Palace is hands down the BEST groomer around. I've been to several, and none compare. They are true Dog People. Samantha is a professional and obviously knows what she is doing. You can just tell by the attitude of your dog when you pick them up. My dog, Romi, can be, how shall we say, a little "moody" at times, maybe even a little snippy. But when he comes out of there, smelling like roses, tail is a wagging and he's got the alligator smile and he "loves" everybody!! WOW!!! We brought our German Shepard "Tess" in today for nails, bath, and ears cleaned. And let me tell you she DOES NOT let anyone touch her ears or nails!!! We were worried and so was Tess! We have been taking our German Shepherd Max to Pete's since they opened. Max is 130LB they handle him like he is a puppy, his coat shines when he comes home, and he always smells good.
