Who doesn't love a place that has endless amounts of goodies for the fluffy love in your life?! Well..me, when the person who handles the fluffy's money is treated poorly. I really do try to give people the benefit of the doubt and visit a place a few times before writing a bad review. We all have bad days, no? But seriously, you work at a store that has little tiny frosted cookies for dogs, that's gotta make you want to act less cranky? The Staff is generally unhelpful, well I don't mean unhelpful, I just mean too busy chatting it up with each other to pay attention to you. In all fairness, I did get great help here once, the employee was cheerful and friendly but....had no idea about any of the products or whether or not they carried them. Which seems to be a general theme here. I actually had quite a comical time trying to bridge a language barrier to determine if they had bait bags (those treat bags you wear on your hip) and harnesses. But the reason we get one measly little star is the way I was treated when I tried to return a product that didn't fit my dog. Staff up front says no problem, and asks if I'd like to exchange it instead. Hmmm..maybe, let's see. While we're looking, someone (I'm assuming the owner) comes out of the back and says the item smells and he won't return it. He's a adamant about this and rather forceful. It had not been worn or used (see the part where I mention it *not* fitting my dog) and was covered in a nice layer of dust from having sat in the store for so long. I guess that's why he couldn't bear the thought of taking it back! He never did introduce himself, so who knows if it was the owner or not. He carried on a conversation in another language with his staff while standing in front of me and only engaged me to confront me. It was distasteful and genuinely disheartening to see him dismiss and discredit his staff this way as well. Luckily, in this city, there's lots of options that truly are dog AND owner friendly. And luckily, those places have frosted cookies for fluffy as well. read more

This review is difficult to write because I really wanted to like this store because of cost, location, and availability but I am finding it very difficult to even give it 1 star. I will begin with the whole experience from start to now. I made an appointment a week ahead of time over the phone and when I arrived, I was told that I didn't have an appointment but they could squeeze my two cats in. My complaint is that the staff is not very welcoming like one would hope for when your about to drop off your pet and leave them there for 4 hours. They just moved through the motions but never attempted to make small talk or really even greet me. I explained to them that one cat would get just a bath, brush up, and the other services offered at the $50 service.The other cat would receive the works including having him shaved. The groomer (Darryl) came out and he was the polar opposite of the staff. He was bright, cheerful, welcoming and we had a great conversation about what I wanted done. I returned about 4 hours later to pick up my 2 cats and again dealt with a bored and flat store clerk. While paying I was told that one of my cats had hurt one of his front paws and one of his rear paws but it wasn't to bad. Since the groomer had already left, she attempted call him and left a message to have him call me. I made it home and the cuts on his feet were pretty bad and so I cleaned it up and made sure he was OK. I never received a phone call from the groomer to find out what had happened. Now I will say, he did an amazing job on shaving my cat and making him look great but no one wants their pet to come home with blood on them. Now 4 days later; I returned home last night to find a very sick cat, his ear was full with gunk, eyes watering, and a large lump on the side of his jaw. I cannot say for sure that the lump was caused by the groomer but I know it wasn't there before Sunday's visit and the services include brushing the cats teeth. Now the ear portion, my vet explained that this is common when cats get water in their ears and it is not properly drained and the grooming services did include an ear cleaning and a bath. My cat has been bathed and groomed at least once a year for the last 4 years and has never fallen ill. So in the end the grooming cost was $79, but I spent $225 at the 24 hour Vet last night diagnose the gunk in my cat's ear and then another $130 this morning to biopsy the lump on his jaw and pay for all of the antibiotics and pain medications. If I was going to just this shop by the haircut my cat received they it would be 5 stars but with the costs I am now stuck with because my cat got 2 separate infections at the same time force me to not recommend ThePetSet to others. read more

Had my two dogs done for the first time by Kelly this morning. My Westie was first up, she's small and very manageable, she looked very cute when finished. I did have to tidy up her mouth a little because the hairs on the top of her snout had been left too long and were still long enough to get in her mouth. My Old English Sheepdog is another other story altogether, he's a 2.5 year old boy who has a great deal of energy (and then some). He's skittish and stubborn and I'm quite sure Kelly had a lot of trouble handling him. I didn't see Kelly when they were finished (we were at my daughter's house - itp) but my daughter said Kelly looked VERY relieved to return him to us. He looks good, very even, no nicks on his body, overall she did a very nice job, his snout wasn't quite as short as I'd asked for but the main problem I have is that his ears, both of them, are bleeding badly, they haven't just been nicked, they've been cut. There's a fair amount of blood all over his head now, since he keeps shaking his head (I guess his ears hurt). I guess my search for a permanent groomer will continue... It's harder to find a good groomer than a hairdresser. **I'm updating this, which I just posted a little while ago because I received a call from Kelly when she heard about the above review. Kelly was obviously very concerned that Baxter was bleeding, her call was considerate and appreciated. Perhaps we'll give them another chance afterall. read more

I responded to the employer/owner of Pet Set with my dog's name, etc. I also noticed 2 common themes with the people who had bad experiences with this place.... 1) their dogs were not themselves at all, either just out of it or traumatized/nervous behavior, and 2) no one seems to ever see the dogs out of the cages. Both of these things makes me nervous, I truly hope they are not giving any of the dogs "relaxation" treats that have sedation affects. I truly hope, for the well-being of the future dogs who go here, that they make some serious changes! It is not good enough to only have 1 groomer who people like, EVERY groomer should be doing a great job, and EVERY employee should be a serious dog lover who truly cares about the dogs and couldn't stand to see dogs stuck in cages for hours! Went here for my labradoodle puppy first adult haircut. Didn't like the cut on the face at all but I don't blame the groomer as he did what I ask for l- just didn't know it would make her completely different dog. Only negative is that after taking her home I realized her stomach area was cut haphazardly. We took her back and the groomer corrected it for free but said it was due to her mats. However I brush my dog almost everyday I know she didn't have mats there. When he return her he said it was due to trying to get her off the grooming table because she had had enough which makes more sense. Regardless photo below - for $125.00 is was just okay. The body cut was good besides the belly area and that fact that her ears were not pluck which I specifically asked for due to our Vets strong recommendation. Groomer was nice and considerate. Just a bummer about the ears and the belly. Ended up plucking her ears myself which I'll never do again - leave that to the professionals. read more

The first time I discovered this place was because of the Honest Kitchen website as I needed some dog food and they were listed as a reseller in the area. The store is located in a shopping center across from Boston Market but it still won't be easy to find for a first timer with that hint. Upon entering the small store front, I was pleasantly surprised at how much STUFF they managed to cram into this place - baked goods, beds, sweaters, collars and leashes, dry foods, ice cream, etc. Really amazing, seriously. After circling the store 2 or 3 times, I asked a sales associate to help me find what I was looking for and was disappointed to find out that they only carry ONE Honest Kitchen product and it's for cats. My second visit here was to pick up 2 boarded dogs for a friend of mine, who had only given me the address of the place. When my GPS brought me back here, I was super confused because I had no idea that they even did boarding or daycare...but then I saw that they had signs for it on their window and that I was just blind the first time. Once you walk in, the play area is to the right, behind 2 sets of glass doors. It's really adorable because they've set up a mock living room with leather couches for your dogs to jump on along with other toys and "props" to make them feel more at home I'm assuming. I looked and looked but couldn't find my friends' dogs in the play area so I talked to the cashier who made a call to the back. The dogs were also bathed so I paid $50 for that before they were brought out. A door to the left of the checkout counter opened and I could see rows of kennels. It looked clean but I wondered why all those dogs weren't in the play area, which was almost empty. After two chances, I will agree that there are alot of cute things here. BUT, all on the pricey side. I saw a little ugly Christmas sweater full of sequins and beads on the clearance table ($30 AFTER 50% off so it still isn't cheap) that I might come back for...definitely not somewhere I would shop at regularly or go out of my way for. read more

I took my dog to the Pet Set for Memorial day weekend and as another review said, the vaccine report was never requested. I also never saw him or any other dogs in the play area. I looked at the pet cam a few times and each time, none of the dogs were in the play area. In fact when I picked him up, I think he was in his cage. I asked why the dogs were not playing and was told there were only certain times they played which I already knew. I picked my dog up at 9:30....the play area was empty. Then, the person said they may have been outside but again, most of the time, the cages were full on the pet cam. I saw a human on camera a few times but he/she was not taking dogs out of cages or putting them back in so I still cannot verify that my dog was ever outside. They do not have outdoor cameras. Plus, as hot as it was this weekend, why would they be outside for so long? I would not bring my dog back here. He seems to be fine but I did not plan on him being locked up all weekend. read more

If you want your pet to develop a fear and anxiety over grooming, then by all means go here! My dog came back with a cut on her leg, her hair not done correctly and no apologies. I asked them to fix her and they said they were booked the rest of the day and I would have to come back with a receipt to get her fixed. First & foremost, we have used both Kelly & Kristen (both mobile groomers) and they both do an AMAZING job. If they weren't so good at what they do, I would drop The Pet Set like a bad habit because of their scheduling problems. We've used them many times without any problems but the last two experiences have been very frustrating. This is the second appointment in a row where something has gone wrong with their planning. The first time we called the store to cancel an appointment. They confirmed the cancellation with us but forgot to tell the groomer who only found out when she called us the night before to confirm. I felt bad for her since she blocked time for us yet nobody told her that we canceled, so there's a couple of hours without revenue coming in. That issue really didn't affect us but it showed how disorganized they are at the store. Next time we made the appointment a few weeks in advance as we had a trip planned. Everything was good and the store called the day before confirming our appointment for the next morning. But then the next morning rolls around and they text us saying she will be here in the afternoon! WTF? I just ran home to make sure I was here for them in the morning, as confirmed weeks in advance & the day before. Juggling my schedule around at the last-minute because of their errors totally defeats the purpose & convenience of mobile grooming! My patience is starting to wear thin with the Pet Set. Since it seems like these problems lie with the store/management and not the groomers, I would encourage their groomers to branch out on their own - they could make more money when they don't need to pay the disorganized management and provide better service for the customers. read more

We just adopted another dog....a 1 year old American Bulldog named Tank and we started bringing him to The Pet Set for daycare as well. He is high energy, super friendly and loves to play with other dogs. He's large, around 90lbs, but I was really impressed with how the entire staff interacts with him. Every time we walk in someone on the staff says "Tank!!! Hey!!!!"....he's made quite a name for himself! I also just had his ears cleaned the other day while he was at daycare and they did an AMAZING job. As he was rescued, he never had much medical care and I noticed his ears were very badly packed with black wax and just terribly dirty. When he came home his ears looked spotless! Again, this place is wonderful!! Love it, and so do our pups! read more

Well my pup would have lots of goodies from The Pet Set if only the prices were not so darn high! Seriously! I picked up a plush Christmas toy and it was $19!!! $19? My dog is going to chew out all of the stuffing in 5 minutes flat, and that's not worth 19 bucks to me. The clothes are super adorable, but I do not think the collars and leashes are of a good variety. I like my pup to have a little bit of a masculine collar, and rainbows and sunshines aren't going to cut it. read more

This place has everything you need to spoil your pet rotten! And maybe even stuff to torture your pet with extremely cute stuff you would never personally wear! I am a sucker for chihuahua outfits and this place has helped my pups to be outfitted in the most expensive cutie- pie sweaters that I wouldn't even spend as much on for myself! Around Halloween they have the cutest costumes for your pups- but get there early as they will run out of small sizes rather fast. They also offer boarding and grooming and I hear they do a great job with both from friends (my girls stay with their gramma and grampa so I don't know firsthand) but it's definitely worth a look if you are in the area and love to pamper your pooch with toys, treats, and clothes! read more

The Pet Set is super close to my house. If I am unavailable to make an appointment with my dogs normal Groomer, I'll head over to the Pet Set. Kelly does a great job with my dogs and I highly recommend her. I've taken my dogs there a couple of times when Kelly was not working. They came back "funny" Not their usual happy selves. Not sure if they were given some sort of an herbal relaxation treat or what happened. However, they were "off" for about a day. I guess they just didn't enjoy their spa day. So, if they go to the Pet Set for a grooming, I ALWAYS ask for Kelly. They come home happy, healthy and with very wiggly tails and that makes me happy! read more

My boyfriend and I recently found the Pet Set for the first time and it is amazing!! Not only is it reasonably priced, my dog loves going there. She used to shake convulsively when we would take her to the big chain pet store close by to get groomed, but now she doesn't hesitate when we get to the Pet Set. The wait staff are super friendly and they also have a huge playroom for the dogs, so you can see them playing in the next room through a glass window. It makes me feel so much more comfortable knowing that the people that work there actually like animals and enjoy their job. I'm a new customer to the Pet Set, I was really drawn to the web cams. However, in the 3 weeks that I have been coming here, the web cams do not work from my computer (chrome or explorer). I reported this to an employee that was kind of nonchalant. The store and lodging is nice, I hope to see my dog in action one day and update with a better review. I've been taking my Weimaraner "Matilda" to The Pet Set since we arrived in Atlanta two years ago. It is her home away from home, so to speak, because she's in daycare five days a week while I work. I visited other facilities prior to choosing Pet Set but I could not find anything that compared to them. The manager, Javier is always attentive and gracious in seeing that Matilda is comfortable in this setting. They adjust their schedule to meet my needs since I sometimes have to work on-call. Javier figures out the best options for me to leave her there, be it past scheduled hours or overnight. They bring any concerns that I may not be aware of to my attention. Likewise, if there is something that I may ask them to observe in Matilda, they will monitor her throughout the day and report back to me when I pick her up. I especially like the daycare webcam that is set up on the inside play area which allows me to see her throughout the day when I'm at work. My mother looks in on Matilda daily from her home in California. I don't have children, but she is my "baby." I would not entrust any other kennel to her care. Oh, also, it doesn't smell like a kennel like some other places... Last but not least, I'm most appreciative of Ricardo for consistently being there to greet Matilda as she starts her day. All of the staff seem to genuinely enjoy our furry companions. Matilda is safe and happy, so I am happy :) Thanks Pet Set! read more

MY DOG LOVES IT HERE. I have a yorkie/maltese mix and I bring him to grooming here. He usually has either Daryl or Kelly. They are both fantastic but I think Daryl listens to my want's a little bit more. They love my dog and treat him well and he really enjoys coming here. I also bring him here to the daycare sometimes. The prices are a little bit better than other places and they offer half day deals. I rarely ever buy anything from the store because they are a bit pricey. But, it's because everything is really high quality. Also, they have really good sales with a lot of items at 70% off or more! I got a really nice brown suede donut bed on sale that was originally $80 and I got it for $35. read more

I had a scheduled mobile grooming appointment with Kyle today 7-3-17 (scheduled time was 8 am-1 pm). I was told that the groomer would call this morning to confirm the appointment window. Not only did he NOT call, but I had to follow up to find out if and when he was coming to groom my dog. No apology, no nothing. I am a busy person and I believe Pet Set and it's mobile grooming service is very disrespectful of my time. I cancelled my appointment and will never consider doing business with them again. The worst customer service ever! After learning about my mishap, the owner called me and agreed to make it right. He offered to groom my dog free of charge. Jessica was the groomer; she is very efficient, courteous and most professional. She groomed my dog meticulously. I will definitely call on her again. Phil: 1) Clearly you didn't look into this issue at all, other than logging into your computer and looking up my name. If YOU, the store owner, had taken the time to contact YOUR STORE manager (Beth), she would have been able to explain the whole situation to you (the store owner). Or talk to the other young lady who was working there on Sunday. I'm sure either one of them could tell you what happened (unless this happens with some frequency). You should do that before responding to poor reviews. It is your store, right? These are things you should care a little more about, instead of just taking a cursory look at the situation and saying "Never heard of you. Couldn't have been us." How about asking a question like, "James, I don't see any information about this complaint from our store that matches your name. Let me contact the store manager and get back to you. Is there any other information out can provide that might help?" Phil, this is what real customer service is all about. Doing what it takes to make things right. 2) If you had bothered to contact me (because you did find my name in your system), I would have told you that my wife brought our dog in. She's in your system too. Your manager, Beth, could have told you that if you had taken the time to contact Beth. Again, it's YOUR job as the owner to reach out to your manager and ask questions. I did talk to your employee (Beth wasn't working that day), and asked her to have Beth contact me/my wife about this situation. NEVER HEARD BACK FROM HER. 3) I've taken a look at the negative reviews you've received on YELP! And on Google. I started taking my dog here to be groomed a little over six months ago & always got good behavior reports... but I noticed EVERY TIME I picked him up, hours later (when notified), he would come home & go STRAIGHT to his water bowl like he hadn't had access to water ALL DAY. When I asked if they gave water, since they had my dog for hours for service & never got a straight response; the last time I dropped him off for grooming, they didn't clip all his nails properly, which prompted him to start biting them himself, the following week... After that last experience, I should have stopped coming but I admit, the convenience of it being near my home & him now being familiar with some staff had me willing to try at least once more before I decided to go elsewhere. Well, I had to go on a business trip for a few days & decided to board my dog there... Well, they called me halfway through his stay & said he wasn't behaving well, which was odd because he's trained/knows all basic commands & some... that put me in a huge state of anxiety b/c here I am, out of state, & now worried about my fur baby!!! Then, THE NEXT DAY, they TEXT me & said the same thing & that my dog wasn't welcomed back... WHILE I AM ON A BUSINESS TRIP, like, what do you guys expect me to do right then... so then, I'm worried the rest of my time away & go to pick up my pup as soon as they open when I got back... First off, I brought him a bed for his crate to make it more comfortable; that wasn't in there & he was laying on the hard crate flooring; the attendant's whole approach was off/incorrect when approaching for services/interaction. I volunteer at an animal shelter and know how to properly interact with unfamiliar animals and by his approach, I could see why my dog was upset. It looks like he has scratches on his face/across his nose; his back/face was WET!! Here it is, 30 something degrees outside & my dog is WET!! When I asked why he was wet, it SOUNDED like the HALF explanation said they sprayed the dogs to calm them down!! My dog was visibly & physically WET from being sprayed out of DISCIPLINE FOR BARKING TOO MUCH while in a kennel, surrounded by strangers?! What type of abusive training/scolding is that?! DO NOT TAKE YOUR PETS HERE if you care about them!!! Oh, & funny how all of sudden, my dog was accused of biting but I saw NO EVIDENCE (oh! & btw, first I was told it was an attendant, next the kennel manager, now, it's the owner... can't keep the story straight, SMH, please don't make me post screenshots of the different stories in the communication because I have receipts) & my dog is around other dogs, ALL OF THE TIME, & never shows any aggression... Not to mention how THEY ALWAYS give great behavioral reviews whenever I pick him up from grooming but the moment he spends a night, they act like he's Cujo... ON TOP OF THE FACT that the staff's approach to the animals is TOTALLY WRONG & THAT is an issue that should be addressed in that "staff meeting"... THOSE ARE THE FACTS... And now, my other issues are "supposed"... Way to take ownership and acknowledge your imperfections; Also, didn't even ATTEMPT to spell my name right) HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! AGAIN ppl, DO NOT BRING YOUR FURRY FAMILY MEMBERS HERE!!!! Ive got a totally sadistic habit of dressing up my dogs, Im sure they hate it, but Ive convinced myself to the contrary. The Pet set is the PERFECT place for pampering your animal... they seriously have everything to turn your pup into a little Tinkerbell Hilton. But of course it comes at a price... I often walk out of the place wondering why on earth I just spent a hundred bucks on a new leash and a few sweaters for a three pound dog... but you get quality, and above all, flare. They also have a very nice indoor play area/doggy daycare and training facility. So, this place is great, if you can get over the prices, for scoring some serious 'Ooohs' and 'Awwws' at the park. read more

This place is more like a boutique daycare care than the other their large places that have seemingly hundreds of dogs at once, and they stink! The staff here are sweet, the place is always kept clean and they sell premium dog food. They also regularly run specials where you can get great discounts for packages. We take our pooches here for grooming and they do a wonderful job! In fact, we've tried other places and have been let down in service and just the quality of grooming. The Pet Set is not exactly right down the street for us so we have to make an effort to get our dogs here. And, they are a tad more expensive that some of our local choices but it's worth it in the long run. The last place we went to was a nightmare and we ended up only saving a few bucks... Staff is amazing and is always friendly, I've never had an issue with them. They are always prompt and respectful and treat our dogs that way, too. Grooming is superb, our dogs come back the same way every time and look great! They really take the time to make your dogs look and feel wonderful. The only negative I have is that we did board our dogs here for 5 days and one of our dogs ended up getting kennel-cough, even after we got his shots for it. I realize that it's not entirely The Pet Set's fault this happened but it was disappointing to come back from vacation and have to take our dog to the vet for antibiotics. I do like the web-camera feature they offer and rooms are spacious and always monitored. Beyond the kenneling issue, everything has been superb! read more

All I can say is WOW! We have an Old English Sheepdog (difficult to groom) who is a rescue with a timid personality (also a grooming challenge). Kelly did an incredible job!!! IF YOU WANT YOUR PUP FURMINATED OR DESHED, DO NOT GO HERE. Here's my experience - I took my short hair husky to The Pet Set for a bath and to be furminated. While she came back feeling clean and smelling nice, the main reason I took her was to help get rid of her undercoat for the summer. When I picked her up in store, there was still a lot of hair coming off of her, but I dismissed as loose hair from the bath. Let me be clear, I never expected her returned without any shedding (she's a husky after all), but when I put her in the car, I realized I could still pull big clumps of undercoat from her with my hands and took her back inside where they offered to brush her out again. After they took her into the back a second time, she came back a little better, so we went home. Flash forward to the next morning and she's still shedding like crazy, so I decided to brush her. After a few minutes of brushing, I got a basketball sized clump of hair. This was only from her sides and back. I didn't even go near her haunches, stomach, chest, or tail. While the Pet Set had good customer service and were really kind when I brought her back inside for a second brushing, they DID NOT DO A GOOD JOB. The only reason I'm giving 2 stars is because the customer service was good, but ultimately, if I'm paying for my dog to be furminated, this much hair should not be coming off her the next morning. read more

Our baby looked great for two weeks after she was groomed. I value great customer service and they provided it. I personally think the pricing should vary by size of dog. Miracle is only 4lbs and was charged based on her breed and not her size. But the experience overall went well. read more

Omg! What can I say.... I have been coming to Pet Set for over three years and I have absolutely no complaints! I have two dogs and they mostly come to play, but they also need their baths! Occasionally, we will use their boarding services as well! Still no complaints! They always come home very happy!! We are treated very nice and respectful every time we come! They really listen when you have a request and they will honor it ,but sometimes suggest another option, which is great because usually it is better than what was requested! The store is always clean and so is the daycare area! My dogs LOVE the fresh treats I buy there! I would be lost without this place!!! I tried many other dog places and finally found this place and haven't gone anywhere else since! Thank you Pet Set staff for always being so good to my pets ( they love the spoiling! ), and so nice to me! read more

I have a 90 lb Rott/Retreiver mix who doesn't play well with others. he's hard for me to handle and my husband doesn't hv the time to take him in a timely manner. With that , our big boy doesn't get walked like he used to resulting in his nails being very overgrown. I called a mobile groomer who didn't take dogs over 40 lbs... great :( now what? Found the petset and couldn't hv been more impressed with our groomer Michelle. We never used mobile groomers before. It was pretty cool to see the unit pull up right in your driveShe took very good care of our dog. And took her time. You could see that she really loves what she does. And does it well. She even tied an adorable pet bandana around his neck when he was done. Would definitely use them for our dog again. read more
