The Puppy DayCare is an excellent way to get your puppy accustomed to socializing with other dogs, and getting trained during the day is a helpful benefit to us when we get her home. We have utilized the excellent training of Kristi #kristithetrainer for our new puppy, and Kristi has been making housecalls to help us with training in between DayCare sessions. Kristi's unique approach to training your puppy does wonders for helping get your dog used to walking on a leash, listening to your commands, and behaving well in a family setting with other humans or dogs. The Pet Set is the best in our area by far. We have a 55 lb Irish Golden Doodle with wavy hair, and they have always done the most amazing job with her. Winnie, our doodle is an energetic dog, but loves going to what we lovingly refer to as the "spa". We been using The Pet Set for day and over night stays for a number of years. The facility is immaculate, the cleanest I have ever seen and offers many services including grooming and expert dog training. The staff is personable, efficient and genuinely care for the animals well being. The overnight housing for the pets consists of their own walled in non-caged rooms. The outdoor facility is sectioned into 3 separate areas for size appropriate dogs and covered by approximately 40 x 80 feet of a custom shade structure. The dogs are never left out in the elements without constant staff attention. There are also live pet cams accessible online to view your pet outside playing with others. I brought my mother in law's senior dog to get groomed. I was told she would be ready in 2 hrs but ended up being ready almost 5 hrs later. I was told she was matted and that I needed to buzz her whole fur off. As I waited in the parking lot, I watched as people inside groomed the dogs as they drank their refreshments. I didn't spot my mother in law's dog.... When she was brought out she was definitely buzzed down but it made me wonder what took them so long. I left the groomer a real hefty tip (which I regret). Just returned from a WEEKEND that celebrated my nieces college graduation. I was RECOMMENDED this place from my own Mother, who has used this company before. Boy was I disappointed when I picked up my dog. I returned to pick up my dog's bed and blanket, it was soaked in her own PEE. The employee told me she had an "accident" and they were unable to clean it. Mind you according to company policy, they were supposed to let her out to play with the other dogs after she eats in her room. I picked her up at 3 PM!!! What were you doing all day that made you so busy to not clean up. Oh and what else were you given???? BATHROOM PADS that were to be placed in the room in case she needed to use them. When I picked her up, NONE HAD BEEN USED. So not only did you not do your job, you lied about using them every night too???? This company says you can view your dog on its webcam. But on both Saturday AND Sunday, we're there dogs out side to view? NO. So was she locked inside both days? Did she have an accident that morning as the employee said, or was it days before and this company just lies about everything it does? This company took my $200 and give me a urine soaked bed. We started taking our first pup here to have play dates and groomed a couple times, we also had him boarded for 2 days! We got a second dog and just started bringing her. She's timid, so I was nervous dropping her off to get groomed but she loved it! Everyone here treats our dogs amazing. After their baths they small great! And not for just one or two days, the smell great for WEEKS! They both love it here! Luis has the BEST costumer service! I was working and going to school and it was nearly impossible to keep up with her energy needs. Enter Pet Set. They will wear your dog out and hand you back and dog who does nothing but sleep for the next day or two! ITS AMAZING. We took her the entire ten years we were lucky enough to have her. CAT OWNERS:FIND ANOTHER PLACE! Short story: unreliable and/or unprofessional staff, noticed cats were sick and aggressive once home. Long Story: From 12/17-1/3 I had to board my two cats, "S" and "I", for the first time since "S" needed medicine twice a day. The Pet Set had the best recommendations. Everyone was very friendly when I visited it. 2 weeks before I had to drop off the cats, I called 3 times; twice during after hours and once during regular hours. I left messages for someone to call me. No one did. I then called a week later and was able to speak to someone. On Dec. 17th when I was heading to drop the cats off, I encountered a major traffic jam. I called about 4:30 to let them know I was stuck, but I was told that I had to be there by 6. No one would be able to stay and wait for me. I understood and thought I would be there by then. The 2nd time I called was 5:00. The manager answered. When I explained my situation, I was told again that I had to be there by 6. The manager kind of laugh/giggled about the traffic problem, and I told her that this was not a laughing matter. I explained that If I couldn't board my cats tonight, then I have to miss the plane, and I would not be able to be with my dad when he went to the hospital the next day! She then stated that I should not be taking it out on her and her staff since it "sounded like a personal problem." I was speechless. I then asked that if I couldn't get there by 6, could a friend drop them off in the morning. She replied, "Of course." WHY wasn't this offered as a solution instead of a laugh/giggle? Not very professional! Once I arrived, with 28 minutes to spare, one of the employees whose first language wasn't English, took my cats and me back to the cat area of the facilities. The Pet Set had changed out their old cat cages for newer ones. I had paid for a suite of three cubicles and now they were being placed in one large cage. I got my cats settled in and had to remind the employee that a food dish and kitty litter was needed before he shut the cage. I showed him the typed out instructions and explained everything to him. I'm not sure if he understood half of what I said. He didn't answer correctly some the questions I had asked him. I then spoke to the manager on duty at the front desk and let her know all the instructions were in the box I packed for the cats. I had asked them to send me pictures daily if they could and to call if any problems arose. Both the employee and the manager said that it wouldn't be a problem to send photos. 3 days later and not a word from the Pet Set. I called them on the 20th to check up on the cats, only to hear that they were having trouble giving "S" his medicine. I had to explain to the male employee on the phone how I do it at home. I told him to give me a call later when they tried to give "S" his medicine again so I know how it went. I also asked for photos again. By the next day, I still hadn't heard from them. So I wrote them an email. Luis Fonseca, manager, replied after hours on the 21st apologizing for not sending any pictures. He sent two. Needless to say they are not what an owner wants to see! Again no mention of how "S" was taking his medicine. The next day on the 22nd I get another set of pictures sent via email stating that they would send pictures daily. I called and they said "S" was doing better at taking his meds. Then nothing was heard again. 2 more days of no photos or updates, I made the decision to cut my trip short, and flew back to Los Angeles on Christmas Day. I picked up my cats at 6:30 am on the 26th of Dec. When the female employee took me back towards the cat area, I could smell the urine immediately. It got stronger as we got closer. She turned on the light, and I didn't see my cats in their cage. I found "S" UNDER the cat bed I had brought from home. I asked where "I" was. The employee stated that they had separated the cats 2-3 days prior to make it easier to give "S" his medicines. I stated that I had told them that the cats were not to be separated since they rely on each other since kittens, especially "I". I looked in the bottom cage and "I" only had the pillow case and his carrier's little mat to use. The mat had old vomit on it and was damp when I touched it. I got the cats out of there, got my refund for the days not used, and left. When I got them home, I noticed the two were aggressive with each other by biting each other on the back of the neck. I also noticed that "I" and "S" had a cough. I ended up taking both to my vet the next morning. Both were dehydrated and both have a respiratory infection! So now, both cats are on antibiotics twice a day, they have been coughing and sneezing for two days and nights. They ARE NOT the healthy cats that I dropped off. DO NOT USE THE PET SET!!! Spent $5000 in vet bill. read more

We have been bringing our boxer here for her entire life (10 yrs) for puppy training, day care and boarding. We used #kristithetrainer for puppy training and have enjoyed many wonderful years with an excellently behaved dog. The training plus socialization with other dogs was a big reason we took our dog here. Now, we have boxer #2 and are back with Kristi working on basics. Not the best photo but Kingston wasn't feeling it. I LOVE this place. I've tried petsmart grooming and another place but this is the best place ever. The people at the front desk are always super nice and Kingston always comes out looking great. And I'm sure he isn't the easiest dog. So for just a wash and I guess blow dry and what ever else they do, if I want them to cut his hair it's like 50. Sure I'd rather it cheaper I mean who wouldn't but they do a great job. Considering petsmart is also about 50 I'd rather come here. I do try and wash him at home but of course I'm not a professional so it's not the best. When I do go get his hair cut I usually get it pretty low. Moral of the story is you should bring your dog. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would! My doggie nephew was picked up from this establishment today and his nail was broken and bleeding! As someone with experience working in the pet industry I am fully aware that accidents happen. However when a call is made to this establishment in regards to this incident, the client should not be told that it probably happened when the dog was getting in the car. Next time take ownership of the situations that happen while our four legged family members are under your supervision and care instead of trying to blame the owner and have them come out of pocket to pay for your negligence and irresponsible actions. Picked up our dogs from boarding after 10 days. This is what our 15 year old dog looked like. We were informed by staff that she didn't like to move around much so the let her stay in her area which she did nothing but sit in urine. She now has the worst rash and can't keep still because the area is extremely irritated. The staff was not phased at all and could care less about our concerns. When asked to speak to a manager, the receptionist stated " well you can call but he's not here and may call you back." So disrespectful and obviously don't care about animals. We've been bringing our dog here for daycare for a number of years now. I was shocked this morning when I dropped her off, how she was treated in front of my eyes. On my way out, I turned around and saw that my big dog was refusing to walk with the employee, her legs were locked and she was pulling back. He kept pulling on her leash which caused her collar to move half way over her head and her to slide on the floor. She looked panicked. I told the guy twice to stop. When he finally did, I was able to calm her down and walk with her to the back door. I went back to the front desk and asked for the manager. I was told that he would be in later and if I want to, I can leave my phone number so he could call me. I drove to work, regretting that I left my baby there. Since I did not hear back from the manager, I called Pet Set at around 10 a.m. . The manager was on the phone and when I started with my concern he interrupted me and said that he knows why I am calling. He told me that his employee was holding my dog down because she came out of her collar and he didn't want her to run out of the door. I told him that this is not true and repeated what I saw. He continued by saying that the front desk clerk saw it too (which she couldn't have because she was checking in other pets from behind the high counter). I also asked the manager if his employees receive any training working with dogs because it didn't seem that his employee knows anything about "positive reinforcement". He said they do. I guess the point that I want to make with this is that this place is not only lacking customer service in a big way, but what is more frightening, a lack of compassion for the animals that are entrusted to them for the day. I guess all I wanted to hear from that manager, is to validate my feelings maybe by saying, "I am sorry for this incident. I will talk to my employee", and to assure me that he, the manager, will make sure that my baby is safe and well taken care of while in their care. Would never recommend our two dogs came back infested with flees from a full groom. The owner denied the ahold situation. Our dogs were itching right after pick up and they haven't had any flees for almost two years. Owner blames sidewalk walks which isn't even done with my Mothers dog. At first he was quite a terror but with a lot of help from the trainer Kristi, she helped ease him into the pack and he's been happy ever since. The people are personable, the costs are extremely fair and the location is nice because it's an outdoor space. My dog can't help but be excited every single time we get close to the location. I haven't tried their grooming services yet, but with how well they take care of my valued family member, I will be trying them out soon. Second time going to this place this past Friday and great service! We normally go to Petco but with their business grooming schedules we never seem to get in if we don't schedule a week ahead. Well same scenario happened we couldn't get in short notice and we had to think of an alternative, thankfully I remembered the pet set. So we called and were able to get in. I'm really happy we did, as we walked our 2 corgis in the team were having a meeting on the floor going over regulations and what they need to do in case of emergencies. As a nurse this was totally refreshing because I have in-services to keep my colleagues on the same page. I mean this has to be the most professional dog groomers I've been to, and it means so much to me because I love my fur babies. My corgis were happy and didn't seem scared or wanting to bolt for the door. That there tells me that they didn't have a bad time, and that my pup Bruce did so well. We used Pet Set many times for day care and boarding pre-covid and liked it alot. In fall 2023, we returned to traveling without our husky. Perhaps our dog's personality changed over the covid era but he was not happy there and ended up being in private/solitary. On the cam, I noticed way too many large dogs in the yard and my guy was hanging with the attendant or by the kennel door. I called and said his body language tells me he's ready to go in and asked if he could go out early before the yard was crowded and play with just a few at a time. This didn't seem to happen. He was agitated and snarked at other dogs, not aggressive, but as a senior, just wanting to go back in and be quiet. When in the private yard, he was left alone for often a long time and I had to call one eve to make sure they remembered he was out there! At pick-up I was informed they had changed ownership and could not accommodate private care any longer. The 2023 experience was not like in the past; it was just way to crowded. We have switched to Crossroads at the suggestion on friends in the husky rescue community and he did well there on our last trip. read more

Love this place, actually my dogs love this place. We have been using The Pet Set for about 3 years now. Their facility is always nice and clean and they take great care of the dogs there. We like it because it's cage free and the dogs can run around and play for most of the day. Fortunately we've never had any issues when boarding our dogs. The team is always sure to give us an update when we pick them up to ensure we feel good about having the dogs there and by the way our dogs act I can tell they're happy to be there. Would give zero stars. First and last time we will come to this place. We took our cat for basic grooming including nail trimming and were told that our cat had broken a nail on one paw and that it was minor. Come to find out - no it was not minor. Both back paws were blood stained and injured, and we also found out the front paws were also injured. They said they would pass on photos to their manager and it has been more than 24 hours since we have sent them and no response. Only "our manager will get back to you". We had to take our cat to the vet the same day and they confirmed all paws had some damage. She was given an antibiotic and has to wear a cone for 10 days as we have to put ointment on her. We should have listened to the other reviews stating similar mistreatment. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND YOUR PETS AND DON'T BRING TO THIS PLACE. read more

"We're not taking her" said the young guy at the counter after lunging down at my jumpy toy poodle. It took him 15 seconds to decide that my dog can't handle grooming yet she's been groomed her entire life. Yes, she was scared but the employees at any other groomer I've been do their job and spend a moment with your pet to make them feel safe and comfortable. He told me my dog could have a heart attack...what an extreme thing to say to someone you've been talking to for literally 30 seconds. Don't bring your dog in for a 9 AM grooming appointment- or any appointment at all. I overheard the employees asking what kennel she was In and they didn't know if she had a harness or not when she was dropped off. Now she has a respiratory infection from the kennels. This place is is clean and have separate areas for small and large dogs. Kennels are inside and large. CCTV is advertised but not working. I just have an issue with customer service, nice but lack communication. I initially inquired for doggy daycare and needed specific hour consideration as I was told by my dog walker who apparently knows of the owner that it may be considered. I inquired online and on phone with that information up front. I was told that they would have to ask the manager. I completed all required paperwork and asked to schedule a temperament test. I again reminded that I needed a drop of time a bit earlier and if that would be considered. I was told again that they have to just ask but to go ahead and bring dogs in for temperament test. I was a bit frustrated at this point because if they cannot accommodate, why bring them in? So I bring them in they pass and ask if I want to keep them there for the day. I say sure and again as I'm filling out the contract let them know, I NEED TO KNOW if you can accommodate my needs. I again got the same answer, have to let manager know. At this point it's like why don't I have an answer. I come to pick up the dogs thinking I'll have an answer, NO, I was told the manager will call me. I never received that call, I had to call and really demand an answer. I was told they could not accommodate, which is fine, but I could have already been searching for another place 2 weeks prior. In the future try not to waste customers valuable time. Kindly let them know upfront if you can accommodate. I'm sure I'm not the only one who has asked for an earlier drop off, especially if a friend of the owner thought I might be accommodated. read more
