I've had two experiences with this place. The first one was fine. I needed 2 new front tires, gave them a call and they ordered them for me. Couple days later I stopped by and had them replace the tires. It was super quick and easy and reasonably priced. I remembered thinking that the waiting room could use a little cleaning and redecorating though. Recently, however, my experience was terrible. My tire pressure light had come on and when I checked my tires I found a nail in the rear left. So I took my car in, told them which tire had a nail and asked them to check the others just to make sure. The lady at the counter assured me that they would check them all. About 20 minutes later, she comes back in with my keys, I pay $30 for the service and then I was on my way. She didn't actually tell me what they did, so I just assumed they had removed the nail and plugged the hole and all was fine. Well... about a week later my tire pressure light came back on. So I had my brother check my tires and what does he find? A nail in the rear left tire. I take a look and there it was, in the exact same spot as before. My initial thought was "what are the chances I get a nail in the same tire and in the same spot as before within a week?!" But then I asked him to check the entire tire to see if he could find the repair made by PTS but there was no evidence of a repair being done. My next thought was "maybe they found a nail in one of the other tires that I hadn't seen/pointed out to them and repaired that." But then I remembered that the lady assured me they would check ALL the tires, so in any scenario, that rear left tire should have been repaired. So I'm not really sure what I paid for but they definitely did not repair my tire and I definitely won't be going back here. read more

Diane is fantastic!!! Our SUV ran over a large wire staple that landed in the side of the tire. It was not repairable. After talking to my mechanic Art Azevedo (highly recommend) where he went for tires (Art repairs auto and races them), he said Petaluma Tire Source. Diane ordered the tire in the late afternoon and had it on the rim at 8:34 the next morning. Also, the rim had been scratched due to the rim running into a concrete curb and Diane had the rim sanded to remove; also cleaned the rim beautifully. If you need tires, not only will you get great prices, you will get excellent service!!!! read more

Ok, so Tire Source saved me again. I live in SF but work in Petaluma. After being told at Jiffy Lube that they can't do oil changes on Minis, and my flat tire light coming on, I drove straight to Tire Source. Diane told me they'd check the tires and could do the oil change no problem. Yay! They changed the oil and patched a tire with a nail in it (for free) so I could get home that night and back for the new tires the next day. Everything went perfectly. Super fast and reasonably priced. I chose to go here even tho the dealership in the city recently sent me a $500 gift card for service. It's a hassle to go there, and I trust Diane & the guys at Tire Source. And now that I know they do auto repairs, I'm going there from now on. Also, I should mention my boss has been going here "forever" and thinks the world of them. read more

Referred here after Jay & Bill's and Bridie's couldn't fit me in. Went in to get a nail removed from my worn tires and ended up finding out that rear wheel was already splitting. They were able to replace all 4 (and did not charge me for the nail repair) on the spot at a very competitive price. 30 min later I'm driving away a happy customer. When there's a totally viable local business, why not support them?? I'm so happy to have "accidentally" discovered this establishment. We'll be back the next time we need tires. read more

We LOVE the Tire Source!!! I've been going there for over 20 years and every single time I've taken a car there, the work has been performed beautifully & perfectly. Over the years I have gotten new tires, used tires, break work, etc, the price is always fair and appropriate. Diane is a pleasure to work with, she gives it to you straight, no up-selling, no fluff. They would never try to add on unnecessary repairs (like other tire shops in Petaluma), in fact the opposite. They will tell you if it IS a necessary repair or if you can wait on it a bit. And they will also let you know when you might need to think about an upcoming repair. I like the way they let you know in detail how your car is. Not many shops do that these days. Wish I could give them 10 stars, but I'm limited to 5 :-) I knew my rear tires needed replaced, and I was actually 4 miles from their parking lot - yes, actually headed to buy 2 tires - when mine decided it was just too tired to make one more rotation, and it gave out on me on the freeway :-) I got the fellas at AAA to load the car up in less than 30 minutes {just long enough to read another 2 chapters in one of my books}. They dropped the car in the Tire Source parking lot & before I could settle in comfortably in their waiting area the young man came in with a big smile & said "You're ready to go"! Excellent prices for a poor seminary student too :-) These folks are friendly, thorough, and professional - I recommend them without reservation!!! read more

Good Service in this day and age should get good reviews. This shop should get fantastic reviews. My daughter was stuck with a damaged tire, needed replacement & had an urgent hospital appointment across the street. Diane and her people jumped in and took care of everything. This is old school customer service way, way beyond the call of duty. She is one of those employees who "gets it" instantly and helped us help our daughter get out of a jam 3 hours from home and a little short of cash. Woohoo? Yes, absolutely... as good as it gets! Had a slow leak on my front left tire, brought it in just as Diane (I think) was getting a few other customers fixed up. She noticed that I was waiting, looked at the tire, told me how long she thought it would take, and pointed me to the waiting area. Needed a "new" tire for my old Scout had been putting it off thinking it would be hard to come by. Also needed to repair a small trailer tire, loaded them both up and took them into town. Thought I would give PTS a try, they couldn't have been more helpful and kind. They happened to have a used tire that they could put on my rim for the Scout and they were able to patch the trailer tire. All done in no time at all for very little money. This place tried to rip me off for hundreds of dollars, either charging exorbitant amounts for parts (I purchased front pads and rotors from O'Reilly Auto Parts for $64.24 retail, and this shop was going to charge me $130+ for the same parts when they buy them for WHOLESALE), and also advised to me to change my back brakes when they were proven by a third party mechanic to be in perfect operational condition and good for another couple years!!! I had a really good experience here. They were very reasonably priced, and the employees were very polite. They finished my car in a little over an hour on a Saturday morning. The waiting room is a little musty and cold but they had a lot of magazines and the chairs were pretty comfortable.
