Easter Sunday with 6hr layover at Heathrow so my pops and I left Terminal 5 and grabbed a bus (105,111 or 225) 3 stops to this local favorite and also party place of Heathrow workers. Great pub bar with outside patio and great upstairs restaurant. Service excellent and the food is amazing. Stuffed mushrooms and potato skin to start followed by the mixed Sunday grill of pot roast, pork and lamb with huge popover. We couldn't decide which meat was our favorite. The night I visited, this pub was packed! There was a long queue to order food. It was worth the wait. The menu is very large and ranges from traditional English pub food to steaks, etc. The beer selection is good. The staff are friendly. The ambience is great. Absolutely delicious and huge portions. I stayed about 2 blocks away at the Radisson and wanted to escape the hotel for some real British fare and I definitely got what I wished for. I was only in town for about 24 hours and wanted to take advantage of some of the culture being that I consider myself to be somewhat of an Anglophile. They have a huge menu plus a very long list of specials. Apparently they have a restaurant as well as a pub. We ate in the pub and had to order from the window, but once we figured it out it was fine. I had a magnificent Shepherds Pie that came with a whole loaf of bread and vegetables. It was HUGE, and this is coming from an American point of view. More importantly it was delicious. My traveling mate had fish and chips which she said was good, but a little greasy. The beer selection was plentiful and even got me a hand pulled "Speckled Hen" which was quite tasty. The prices were very reasonable, especially considering how much food is served. Next time I am in town I will be stopping by for a pint and a pie. I suggest you do the same. read more

The Pheasant out near the hotels of Heathrow, not far from the airport itself, is a haven of peace in a busy noisy place that is typical around an airport. Set back from the runways in a residential area that seems typical and sleepy with lovely houses whose front windows often reveal glimpses of domesticity, the Pheasant pub and restaurant is perfect to service the community and the hotel residents. The pub is a lovely typical old pub on different partial levels in various small rooms knocked as much together as possible. One section houses the restaurant, which has won awards, but the pub food is also stunning. The meals in the pub are reasonably priced, diverse with everything from thai to fish & chips. The portions are more than generous with an open sandwich so much that 2 people could eat it and be full. Highly recommended for a great meal or just a pint. read more

This is a very popular place and you really need to book in advance for a table for dinner or risk waiting a long time. The place is always busy and no wonder! The food is great and the service is fabulous. The most recent experience here was March 2015 with a group of work friends and the service from Alex, our waitress, was exceptional. She really delivered service with a smile and was very attentive. The food portions are just huge and good quality. My dish was not as warm as I'd have liked it to be but it was still delicious. The restaurant area might not be suitable for wheelchair users as there are lots of steps in between the dining areas. Very happy to give this fabulous pub/restaurant top marks! read more

Previously, I wrote a review in which I bemoaned the smaller version of the Shepherds Pie and the horrible new mint gravy it comes with. Because this was one of my favorites for so many years, I returned last night (24/04/18). I spoke with the manager. He suggested I request the gravy that comes with the Steak and Ale Pie, which is the gravy that used to come with the Shepherds Pie. It made all the difference. While I still miss the larger version of the pie, the Pheasant is back as a must visit when I'm in town. read more

This is a wonderful place to eat. I will definitely be coming back. Just a short walk from Bath Rd. I was staying at the Sheraton, it's very convenient to get to from the hotel. Just had the most lovely Sunday beef roast for dinner. First off, it was enormous! I hadn't eaten all day, having taken a redeye from Washington, DC to London, checked in, showered, napped, and stumbled down the lane from the Marriott for supper. I was so hungry, I was dizzy, and by the time I tucked in to my plate, I thought I could have eaten the entire cow. But the portion size defeated me! I wound up leaving several ounces of meat on my plate, plus the (IMHO, hated) parsnips as well as some potatoes. I was NOT going to leave a scrap of the Yorkshire pudding though! It was perfect! Crisp, not greasy, and enormous. It was the perfect complement to the beef and gravy. I'll also note that the plate itself was warmed so that the meal stayed hot throughout. It was really perfect. The bartender was also quite sweet. I'm used to pubs where you order the food and drink from the bar, but this place has a bar and separate food counter. He came out from behind the bar and took me around to the food counter and explained the system here to me in my jetlagged state. Truly hospitable and kind. I plan on coming back here to try the fish and chips or one of the pies during my week long stay here in London. Can't wait! Also, I enjoyed that my whole family enjoyed it, and I will be returning!! read more

Just got back from an amazing dinner and we are completely stuffed. Luckily it's a short walk from the Renaissance Hotel and it's way better than the hotel restaurant. I had the steak and ale pie and my wife had the chicken and mushroom and both were delicious. The portions are huge so bring a big appetite. You can eat either in the pub or the restaurant and we choose the later as we wanted to be waited on. The staff were all very friendly and the food came out quickly. It was very busy on a Friday evening so make a reservation if you want the restaurant. Next time we fly into LHR we will make a beeline here for sure. read more

Missed our connection so overnighted stay at an LHR airport hotel. This CHARMING restaurant with FANTASTIC food was a comfortable walk from our hotel, into the back of a nice little neighborhood. Staff was very friendly and helpful, indoor or outdoor (tented) seating available. We enjoyed the pork and chicken pate, served with a cranberry compote, warmed bread slices and a small garnish of fresh salad. The sun-dried tomato, pistachios, and horseradish encrusted cod on a bed of cinnamon cream spinach was spectacular, and the perfectly executed lamb burger with mint cranberry relish and side of chips was delicious as well. Portions were quite generous. The food was quite well thought out and produced. Ales and a not-too-dry cider on tap rounded out our meal. This is the sort of casual dining place with great food that we wish was located in our city, in our neighborhood. A hidden gem and the best part of our vacation thus far! read more

Our first time to this restaurant. Looked at previous reviews and decided to check it out. We arrived at about 6:00, there are many tables outside this pub/restaurant and they were very busy. As we entered the building we saw a sign indicating they had a dining room and we asked at the bar if we could get a table without a reservation. The young man said "I'll check " and the barmaid asked if we would like something to drink while waiting. The young man returned saying "yes...follow me". He took us up a flight to a large multi level formal dining room...there were only two other parties in a room that would seat probably 50-60. I began to worry. We ordered calamari starter, rack of lamb and fish and chips. The server was excellent (Carol) the food was "piping hot" very generous portions and prepared and presented perfectly. Before we finished the complimentary bread rolls (very warm) I noticed the place was filling up. Before we were finished our meal, wine and beer...it was nearly a full-house...as we exited I we could see it was very busy downstairs as well. All in all, we thought the service, food and drinks were top notch and we were pleasantly surprised at the bill...excellent value for money." We will definitely return. read more

The restaurant is actually consisting of two places, a restaurant and a pub with food service. It's packed with Airline crews and locals trying to get a slice of this international pie... I've not seen something like this in a long time. Don't wait, take a short walk - at least from the Radisson it's in walking distance - and it will for sure beat every hotel bar and restaurant in the area. Visited your Pub for a meal as a belated birthday present for yesterday April 1st. I have eaten in your Restaurant before when I worked for the Management at World Duty Free at Heathrow. Today's meal was excellent, chicken cooked beautifully, steamed vegetables which were lovely and fresh. I would definitely recommend The Pheasant. I came in with four other ladies. Unfortunately I left my purple reading glasses at the table, they may have fallen on the floor. This was close to the airport hotel we stayed at and stayed open fairly late. I really just wanted to have some traditional pub food and this place had good reviews. My husband and I both had the fish and chips. It was well cooked and really large portions! I think we could have shared one plate and it would have been enough for both of us.
