The place is small, but they've stacked their small dining room into a very group friendly setup consisting of small booths and tables. The stale air quality is reminiscent of old school spots around town and the young Viet guys running the joint keep the place friendly and efficient. In terms of the pho, there are no complaints. The broth skews somewhat sweet, but it's aromatic enough for me to normally slurp it completely dry. Their best asset has been the meat, which is excellent. Their combination dac biet is an excellent variety that includes meatball, tripe, flank, and some of the best rare steak and tendon I've had. The latter is buttery and smooth enough to where I can't get enough. I tend to order it in their XL (xe lua) size, which is an off-menu item that goes for nearly $20 ($19.45) and is one of the largest bowls I've seen. I always look forward to getting it. While their banh mi and bun dishes are not nearly the same caliber, they still pass the test as a quality offering. The cha gio is a bit paltry, without any greens and a small bowl of semi-spicy nuoc mam (fish sauce). Their Vietnamese coffee is chocolate-y, and perfect for to-go. Their weekday lunch combo special is a good deal, in which one can come in for a small or medium sized pho and get an order of two cha gio or goi cuon with an iced tea. Parking is really easy on the weekends, especially since most of the businesses in the strip mall are closed.
