This gym is super spacious, modern with state of the art equipment. In addition, the gym has a posing room (yep! posing room!), hydro massage and sauna services. There is something for every discerning gym member. I went for a total body workout early this morning. While the time was early morning, the gym was in high gear with a fully packed gym...not an original idea. It was not long waits for the equipment....so, the selection of equipment is good. My goal was to do 3 set of 15-20 reps. Goal accomplished...in addition, it is centrally located with easy access from Burnet Road. With standard Gold's Gym membership, you can access to this gym with no extra cost. Monthly membership is $29-$49 dependent on access level and premium amenities.

Don't judge a gym by the cover. This place is tucked away in an older business park, but once you…read moremake your way inside you'll find one of the coolest gyms in Austin. They have plenty of machines, free weights, cardio equipment, sauna, towel service, a bunch of classes (boxing, HIIT, MetCon, yoga, cycling, etc.), turf area, sleds and recovery equipment like theraguns (for the guns ). Oh, it's also 2 stories with 4 indoor batting cages upstairs.

I've been going to HIT for a couple of years now and have really enjoyed it, but the last year,…read moreunder a new Director of Operations, has brought noticeable decline. Several great coaches have left, and in some cases, their replacements have been extremely underwhelming. I've heard consistent complaints from both coaches and members about the new manager, and unfortunately, the recent changes only reinforce those concerns. One of the biggest disappointments is the decision to eliminate cycle classes. From what many of us understand, management based this decision on the attendance of just one class that regularly had only one or two participants, a class coached by someone most members actively avoided. Meanwhile, the cycle classes taught by the stronger coaches were always at least half full, sometimes more. Yet despite months of rumors, management waited until this month to inform the cycle coaches that their classes were being cut. Completely unacceptable. One of HIT's strengths was the ability to combine HIT classes, turf workouts, and cycle for a balanced fitness routine. Removing one pillar of that variety makes the gym far less appealing. In place of cycle, they're adding a "wellness" area offering services such as IV therapy, infrared saunas, etc., services already widely available in Austin and definitely not something most members I've talked to plan to use, especially since they'll cost extra. They're also introducing Pilates, but we haven't been told if those classes will also require an additional fee. Given the high cost of Pilates equipment, most of us assume they will. On top of that, Pilates appeals to a very specific audience, and it's unclear how this fits with the gym's current member base or identity, especially in a market already saturated with Pilates studios. Across the board, members feel these decisions are being made based on what the manager wants, not what members actually value. We were never surveyed or asked for input on what changes we would support. Adding to the confusion, the gym has a large upstairs area with batting cages, and we've been told they plan to build out new rooms up there. If that's the case, why not simply move cycle upstairs instead of eliminating it? None of these changes make sense from a business standpoint, and I don't see how they'll recoup the costs. I already know multiple members who have left because of these decisions, and many more, myself included, are reconsidering their membership. It's incredibly disappointing to see member feedback ignored while the gym shifts in a direction few people asked for and even fewer will benefit from.

Austin, TX 78741, it quickly jumped to 4 stars. This obviously doesn't bode well for the above-referenced facility. What helped determine the increase in stars was the immediate response to my complaint about what happened on my second visit here. The manager emailed to offer his apology and asked how he could make up for the poor service I encountered from a couple of his staff members. His apology was enough for me, considering I don't live in Austin and was visiting. The manager's concern for the customer goes a long way in my opinion and determination of my reviews. I commend the manager for his attentiveness and concern for his clients. I recommend that he clean his store with a little more elbow grease.

In this locations defense, the manager at this location did reach out eventually and have a conversation with me - they also hired some new staff members for the early morning 5AM shift that are more attentive and can be seen cleaning, however, issues unfortunately remain at this location that warrant a follow up. Having been to at least 10 different PF locations around Austin' and the greater surrounding area I can unequivocally state that this location remains to be the worst that I frequent which is unfortunate considering this Anderson Mill is the one closest in proximity to my 9-5 I'm writing this review so that additional resources can be put into the Anderson Mill location in order to remedy the ONGOING (several months) issues with the showers. This location has gone weeks with multiple showers being out of order due to an ongoing and unresolved leak. This means for those of us that shower after our workout prior to heading into our jobs we either had to wait in a line of people before using facilities (or in my case) have to cut my gym session short 10-15min in order to be the first in the shower to avoid congestion. Fast forward several weeks EVERY shower is now non-functional due to that same leak creating mold This poses an even greater inconvenience as now members have NO ability to shower after their workouts before heading into work. Not sure what can be done to address this but it's made working out at this location extremely cumbersome - the signs posted to the now closed off showers clearly state "BEING REMEDIED FOR MOLD". My presumption based on this locations history is that this leak and mold issue will likely NOT be fixed expeditiously - not being able to shower prior to my work shift after sweating is not ideal. I am now having to look at Golds Gym within the same proximity so that I can continue my morning workout schedule as I require shower facilities after working out prior to heading into work - a major inconvenience considering I've been a member of PF for over a decade at this point with this gym being my primary. Not stoked about having to carry/pay for 2 gym memberships nor am I even sure Gold's Gym offers a month to month option with no contract; at this point, however, I am not sure I have any other option in the interim. What a great experience so far. Requested information via the Yelp projects and John from Austin…read moreSimply Fit reached out promptly. Scheduled a call to review my needs and was able to get into Eric's schedule for a Friday assessment. The gym is quaint and quiet, I've driven by a million times. The parking is a bit odd, a few spots up front where you have to reverse onto S Lamar when exiting...sooo that can be a challenge. They have parking in the rear of the building which is great however there is a single entry way and well, not sure how multiple cars could park and get out. Just know your reverse skills need to be on point. The gym inside has everything you'd need and since it's not open to the public it's just the clients and trainers. That means no waiting for machines and no one looking at you while you're there. Eric is great, he's very easy to talk to and made the whole experience easy. Upon arrival we walked through the questionnaire filled out online to find out the why behind the personal training inquiry. He then did a body scan for weight and fat %, took blood pressure three times as well. Gave a quick tour of the gym and how things work then it was onto the physical movement assessment. Nothing too crazy, range of motion and flexibility tasks. Took an hour for the initial visit and came back the next day to finish a few small exercises then learn the warm up needed prior to sessions. No membership needed as you buy the session in backs, 5, 10, 20 and can be used how you want. Like that there's no long term contract to sign. Session will start in the next week or so with focus on building/repairing the base/functional imbalances before getting into the fun part. Time will tell how this goes, wish me luck!

More importantly, I drink so much less without really noticing, I eat better and I've built muscle and carved out a lean version of me that's much stronger and less achy than the me I've known for so long. I feel stronger and more stable in my body than I have in my adulthood, and it really does make me feel like I have more energy. I think because I do. Nick's approach goes far beyond just "working out." He has helped me improve my stability, mobility, posture, and overall strength in a way that feels sustainable and deeply functional. It's also just so pleasant to work out with him, I never dread the gym because we go hard, but not so hard that you just want to get out of there, and yet the results are still great! One of the biggest changes I've noticed is in my shoulders and neck. I've had long-time sloped shoulders and neck tension that used to bother me by the end of every workday, and now I'm moving through my days essentially pain-free. Nick is thoughtful, knowledgeable, humble, encouraging, and incredibly good at building a program around your actual body, your goals, and your life. I feel stronger, healthier, more confident, and more connected to my body because of his training. I cannot recommend Nick enough!! See my before and after - not that the outside is really what matters most, but how you feel inside.
