Spend that time wandering Main Street's shops, because the wait was worth the bite. The shrimp and scallop scampi arrived swimming in garlic, butter, and pasta (perfect fuel before a half marathon). My uncle's fish and chips delivered an actual deep-fried slab of fish, somehow golden and perfectly cooked. And then the seafood pie: crispy, flaky, golden on top in a way that looks borderline burnt but is actually just butter and scallops doing what butter and scallops do. This dish was basically chowder, piled high with fish... And some more fish, with a dash of chowder. I actually loved Geddy's. I know it's a tourist establishment, but, we are tourists and they had a wonderful menu and ambiance. We requested to sit by the window to have my birthday lunch and loved watching the sun set over the water. This is in a prime spot right by the wharf and has a gorgeous view of the water by the windows, but has a great bar and more seating in the back. Menu is huge with sandwiches, fish, pizzas, salads, etc. We went with the warmed brown butter lobster roll and a margarita pizza add sausage. My husband is a pizza guy - has it like 5x a week - so he's picky. He loved this pizza and said it was really top tier. I also thought it was very good - crust and toppings all great and cooked well. Sometimes margarita pizzas are runny due to less cheese/sauce ratio but this one was good and crust was yummy. The lobster roll was a different way to have it - I usually have it in the mayonnaise sauce chilled, this one was warmed up with brown butter on a delicious bun. Very good. They have 3 different lobster rolls on the menu to satisfy whatever the craving/need. For desset - we chose the chocolate death parfait. It was SO good. Not something I would usually get bc it was so heavy - but we were in town for my birthday so, treat yo self! Layers of chocolate cake, dense white marscapone cream and chocolate mousse with caramel and toffee chunks. Yeah, sign me up for that. Don't forget to visit their gift shop directly underneath and off to the side - it's huge! It actually has far more than the standard cup and t-shirt or hat. Stopped here on a cruise and ChatGPT told us this was the best place to go for lobster. We just had a lobster roll at our previous stop so opted for something different and tried their lobster pizza, homemade, fresh crust...delicious! It was light, refreshing and cooked to perfection. After a day in Acadia National Park we stopped in Bar Harbor for the night and I couldn't have been happier. We ate like kings and queens. When we showed up it was an hour wait, we ended up grabbing a seat at the bar. I did the lobster bake, I'm not really a lobster expert but my tail was chewy - I think it was overcooked - I should have send it back. The claws were good, as was the corn and chowder. I had fish and chips as a 3rd option after our server wouldn't tell me how much the lobster price per pound was and tried to upsell me to the lobster bake which is not what I wanted. I heard good things about this place prior to going. A friend had been in the past and told me to make sure I asked about the market price of the lobster for she paid $127 for her lobster! Knowing that going in, I got the Cap'n Geddy's Lobster Bake, as this was the only option for hot lobster unless I wanted to do the "Pay what it weighs option" like my friend must have done (or the lobster roll but I had a few previous nights). I liked that that the lobster bake comes with blueberry pie, chowder and corn on the cob so you're getting your money's worth. Well, I didn't want to crack the whole lobster at the table so note, if you ask, they will do this for you in the kitchen for an additional $4. I decided to go with this option. They call this the Lazy Man's Lobster I believe. So my $52 meal ended up costing $57. I will say though, the lobster was super fresh. One of the best if not the best lobster I had in Maine. Very good. Critique on the chowder though, they only gave me half a cup. It was delicious but not very much. The blueberry pie also did not have really any flavor. Boyfriend got the Gulf of Maine Salmon Teriyaki. Not much to report. He liked it. We also got the Geddy's Garden salad to start which I loved since it has mushrooms. I love anything with mushrooms. The ambiance was fun - very touristy but that's what we were looking for as tourists and the lobster was very good as mentioned. Super fresh. It's not big, or at least it had a cozy feel. We have a little one year old, and needed a booster seat, but when we set him on the seat, it was slippery wood, no belt, and nothing to keep him from sliding off onto the floor. Not the best design.
