Ate there on August 19 . The welcome was weak we were sat at a table outside next to the bar area. This allowed us to inhale copious amounts of cigar smoke and loud music. Our waitress although sweet did not have a clue about the menu. We asked a couple product questions and she did not know any of the answers. She did go find out but each time she left she took a while to come back and never took our order in one complete action. The wine bottle we ordered was out of stock ? Really? We ordered another bottle but she was not sure if they had that. That took extra time as well. Food. Crab dip was good but for 5 people served with 5 stale ritz crackers and a quarter of a tiny baguette. The salmon was overcooked and the Brussels sprouts pulled out of boiling water not seasoned and were mushy and very bland. Sweet potato fries were greasy and over salted. The house salad was presented in a I stainless steel dog bowl. Presentation was disgusting as the bowl had water drops stains and the whole dish was just thrown together. Dessert was recommended as the waitresses personal favorite and when we asked what cream was in the cake she said she did not know as she never had it. Did I mention she said it was her favorite? This reflects on how poorly the waitress was trained. Not really her fault. This restaurant is a fast stop place and very overpriced. Does not properly train staff and dishes were below mediocre. I have eaten better food and enjoyed clean, smart presentation of dishes at food trucks. I would not recommend this place at all. We dropped a pretty penny but would tell you to run. read more

If you're trying to decide which restaurant to eat at don't pick this one. $75 spent on food and not half of that was worth it. Our entree seemed like it had bottom of the fry basket fries, the steamed shrimp was sub-par and the lobster roll is extremely tiny. Freezing cold interior as well. I walked into the Pier on Saturday and the girl working did not acknowledge me and my husband, she was sitting on her phone. My husband got beer and a burger and the burger was overdone. I got the crab dip and it does not compare to any competitors... it tastes thick and has an after taste of cream. The crab in it tasted good but I could barely taste it with the overwhelming cream flavor. Once we got home we immediately felt sick and decided we will stick with the lighthouse. read more

Go for the views and drinks but don't expect much from the food. I got the steak and lobster tacos and kale slaw. The steak was cut with the grain so it was nearly inedible and super chewy. The kale slaw was old and brown, also not very edible. read more

My wife and I ate here for the first time since it's change in ownership. We ate at the bar and was serviced by Kevin and another young lady working hard behind the bar. This restaurant has a lovely view and our waiter was very nice; however the food was mediocre at best. All of our food was disappointing except my husband's rock fish tacos. Just moved here from LA last month and wanted to try some local flavor. Started with the wings and got the crab cake sandwich which was huge. I've had a lot of crab cakes in my day and this was by far the best. Tons of crab meat with little to no filler which is the way it should be. The place looked really nice and the views speak for them self. Waitress was super friendly and didn't breath down our necks like a lot of places. This food here appears to be entirely purchasable from the freezer section of your local Costco. It's on the water which is nice, but it's expensive for what it is. Nothing appears to be made in house or from local fish sources. The over-priced food appears to be merely salve for strong cocktails in plastic cups. I realize that every time I go out to eat everything is not going to be perfect. With that being said the negatives about this place were that the ice tea wasn't homemade, The bacon was awful and the Waitress dropped a glass by our table. The brunch was fairly priced for what they offered but keep in mind a drink was 3 dollars. Your overall expense for brunch at this place is gonna cost You $20. They do have a guy who cuts roast beef and makes an omelet for you and they have shrimp. I would recommend this place to somebody who has $20 to spend on a breakfast read more

My boyfriend and I went there Saturday to get a bite to eat. There was a wait and it was hot. Long story short, we waited a while and then the waitress sat a couple who was behind us first, with no explanations as to why. When my boyfriend asked if they had reservations, the waitress said no and didn't even seem to care that we were concerned. When we asked for the manager, Ryan Chaves (?spelling) came out and too, couldn't care less. He said he didn't know why the waitress did that and apologized. We told him how funny it looked, they were white and we are black and he said yeah, I know. Oh please. Needless to say, we left. I was truly taken aback and disappointed by this. I reserved a space at The Pier for a group of 18. I worked with Janel to setup the event and she was great. Her customer service was excellent. On the day of the event we arrive and they have setup the back portion of the restaurant for the group and it was a nice setup. We have enough privacy that we e could play games and talk without disturbing the other guess. They assigned one waitress to the group. Felecia was the best she was attentive and got very order right. Before we could finish a drink she was bringing you a refill. Now to the food it was all good. My favorites were the hush puppies and old bay wings. My entree was the crab cakes. They were some of the best crab cakes I have ever had. And I am serious about crab cakes. A restaurant that gets 18 orders correct and everyone loved the food desires 5 stars. Felicia gets 10 stars!!! I will be going to The Pier again. The food was really good, the wait for it was not. Arrived at the bar and put in the order, an hour later and we were still waiting on our food. We asked the waitress what was going on and she ran back and said it would be another 10 minutes. Not great. Unfortunately we had to go back there later that night because of a family gathering. The live band was good, and the drinks service was good, but we had a party of 8 ordered food. Which this time took a good 90 minutes to arrive and only half of us got our food. It turns out that they forgot to input half of our order, so half our party had to go home hungry. Truly the worst service I've experienced at a restaurant. The food was good, but when some people don't even get their food and the food that does arrive takes 90 minutes, it is not worth it at all. read more

I give 2 stars because the food is good and will probably be back for that. That being said, the service was terrible. Came to celebrate my birthday and had the worst experience with the server. She was inattentive, mixed our drinks orders, spilled someone else's drink on our table. I asked her for a rag or napkins to clean the table just about four times and she tried to clean it with her hands. She never clean up the mess. She told us they were very busy (I knew that) she apologized for mixing our drinks with the table next to us, which it happens so no big deal. I asked one last time to please get our table dried up but she never acknowledged the fact that we had a dirty table. I finally asked for more napkins so I could clean the table myself. The food was good but we end up leaving early because the service was so bad. We asked for the check and she told us how much it was without showing us the actual bill, thankfully my husband was able to request a paper copy. I was somewhat reluctant to come based on other reviews I had read. Furthermore I assumed it was a tourist trap. I'm very sorry I missed out because I was very happy with the crab cake sandwich one day and the cheeseburger the next. I had bloody Mary's that were superb and had lots of vodka in them. Jimmy the bartender was excellent and this place is a total delight . It's one of the best hamburgers I have had anywhere including D.C. Post pub and Sign Of The Whale. Outstanding. This place has a great view. Last year we came here for grapefruit crushes and they were delicious. We went last Saturday for the first time this boat season and ordered an orange and grapefruit crush. The service was ok, the muscles were lacking in a flavorful sauce, but the real issue was over 1/3 did not open. The waitress took those nine back to the kitchen. The "cook" shucked them open sprinkled some park on them and brought the water car cold dry bastards back. They were not edible. We paid full price, no visit from management it offer to do anything from outer waitress. The prime rib sandwich was covered in black pepper to the point my mouth burned. Dear The Pier, You have the best location and view of Solomon's Island and some very big shoes to fill. Unfortunately, I was greatly disappointed with my meal. I wish I had sent back my dinner, but not before taking a picture of what was delivered to my table. I'll just cut to the chase. The appetizer of mussels was good, nothing special. My husband ordered the lobster bisque, but our server also brought out the Maryland crab soup. Although it wasn't ordered, I kept it. For our entrées, we had the scallops which were cooked very well. I had the horrible baked lobster. If you saw what was in front of me, you would have gasped as I did. Again, I made the mistake of not sending it back. Whatever the sauce was baked had broken and it was a oily mess. It was just sitting in a pool of oil. I picked out the little claw chunks of lobster and wiped it onto the plate. I enjoyed the fries and the kale salad wasn't​anything special. We were very disappointed and we won't be back for a while. I think they need time to get into a better groove. read more

The band was rocking and we were sitting by the water. About half of the crabs (we paid dearly for a dozen) were mushy AND were not No. 1 size either which really pissed me off. Then the burger had no seasoning and was very undercooked. Our fish sandwhich was fried in very old oil and was way too greasy and the Maryland crab soup had no crab in it. I will NEVER eat here again. The food was gross!!! PERIOD!!! THE END!!! What a shame. If the food was any good at all people would come for miles.
