Honey Mustard Blackened Salmon with Lime Rice and Kale Crunch Salad
    Rae M.

The Pier Restaurant is a whole vibe! After contemplating, researching and comparing several restaurants in the area, I decided we should visit The Pier. You have the option of dinning indoors and outside on the deck. No reservation required and plenty of room. The deck only has about 6 or 7 tables and you're in direct sun. We opted for the deck. It was warm with the sun beating down on us, but you can't beat the view and ambiance. A performer was indoors singing, which was a cute idea and people on boats would just pull up and dock and come into the restaurant. Pretty cool concept. The food was absolutely delish! We wanted to try the crab pretzel but they were unfortunately out of that dish, so we pivoted to the wings. Lemon pepper, to be exact. We loved them! I ordered the blackened salmon with a kale crunch salad and lime rice. That was probably the best salmon I've ever had! And the portion was huge!! I also ordered the lemonade crush. Perfect for a warm day! Our server was so sweet and helpful during our visit. She made sure to check on us frequently and she had a very pleasant demeanor. What's funny is she has an identical twin working here also and I would often confuse the two. Lol! All and all, we had a fabulous time!. After we ate, we did a little roaming around the area. The area has a lot of cool places to visit. Even though the ride here is about 1 hour 10 minutes from my house, it was sooooo worth the ride. Give the area a try! You won't be disappointed.

This place is a great value for great food, with great service! Consistency is key for me. I had the exact same meal (Captain's Basket) two days in a row with crab balls, fried shrimp, cole slaw, and fries. Food was exactly the same both days (excellent), and service tonight with Bri was excellent! Can't remember server's name last night but she was also excellent. Shrimp and crab cooked to perfection. Got as much crab in the 2 crab balls as in one crab cake elsewhere, all for less than the price of a crab cake sandwich elsewhere. Great atmosphere (ate inside at the bar), and again, Bri was fantastic! My husband and I will be back whenever we are in Solomons. Kudos to the chefs!

Key lime crush and an orange creamsicle crush

Stopped here on our day in solomons. Was greeted right away by the hostess and walked to a table. We sat down around 130pm. Our server was honestly so nonchalant and looked like she could care less about us. She did stop by a total of 6 times. She def earned her 20% tip. But little does she know that is the bare minimum we give. We ordered everything at once since we could tell she wasn't about her job. We ordered hush puppies, those were the best thing we ordered. A maple dipping whipped butter of sorts was the sauce. Next best thing was the crab pretzel. It came with an avocado ranch that was surprisingly good with the dip on the pretzel. Lastly for the price of it, was the steamed shrimp. It did come coated in old bay which was a great perk! The bar drinks were literally the only thing to make this a 3 star review! Shout out to the free pouring bartender overloading the crushes we ordered. The pineapple and orange crushes hit perfectly on a 100 degree day. We thought that Key lime and creamsicle would be a good dessert but those didnt round out the meal the best. All in all, we will most certainly not be back. Jake n kev

After tackling a 7-mile hike at Calvert Cliffs, our group of 15 was starving and looking for a place that could m accommodate a large crew. The Pier was incredible--the staff were super friendly and they got us settled in quickly and provided top-tier service for our entire party. The location is stunning, right on the water with a perfect view of the bridge. It's the kind of unique atmosphere that makes you want to stay a while. The Food Highlights... * The "Crabby Pizza": This was a total standout! Garlic alfredo, jumbo lump crab, and Old Bay--it's a Maryland must-try. * Vast Menu: Whether you want perfectly seasoned salmon, blackened shrimp, or even vegetable dumplings, they have it all. It's rare to find a place where 15 people can all find something they love, but The Pier nailed it. * Quality: Everything was wonderfully seasoned and fresh. We even ordered extra food to go because we didn't want the meal to end! We had a great time and will absolutely be back. If you're hiking the Cliffs or just visiting Solomons Island, make sure this is your lunch or dinner stop. #enjoygoodpeople

    Crab Cake Dinner

We stopped in while we were in the area and were throughly pleased with the beautiful views this restaurant offered. Luckily, it was a quiet Sunday and the restaurant was not crowded. Our hostess sat us right away next to a window with a view water and bridge. Our waitress was friendly and took order while giving suggestions for us to possibly try. We decided to share the fried calamari, crab dip, half Maryland half cream of crab soup, mussels, and crap cake entree which came with two good sized crab cakes full of sweet lump crab and sweet potatoes fries. Everything was flavorful and delicious except the soup which was super watery and bland. We were not a fan of the color either. Our waitress promptly remove the soup from our bill. Overall, we had a great experience at The Pier Restaurant and hope to visit again in the future.

This summer marked my second visit to The Pier while visiting MD. My first visit was in July of 23 for dinner with my family. This year I returned for lunch. The daytime views are simply beautiful. On both occasions the service was decent and the food was good. I must admit my drinks this summer were more on the weak side and mostly ice. For lunch we had wings and crab cake sandwiches. The wings definitely could have been cooked longer and the Crab Cake was tasty. While I do not have any major complaints I do think they are on the pricier side for what we had. Just A Note: If you sit outside be prepared to protect your food from the birds. Lol.

Best water views on the island. Most seating options: Completely outside by the water; outside in their covered bar area with high tops, which is great for windy days; and a renovated indoors dining area with a large bar. The vibes are great, and the food and service are comforting. We went with the crap dib, the haddock basket (basically fish and chips) and the fish tacos. Finished off with a coconut Smith Island cake. Would recommend.

Finally got around to trying this place, I've always walked by and thought the vibes would be perfect--on the water, get to watch the boats and the sunset--perfect. And the location is indeed great! The food? Not so much. Not that it was terrible, but it was definitely not worth it for the price. And even if the location is amazing, it's still SOMD and there's no reason for the food to be that price. They were busy (Saturday) so service was slow, but that was understandable and they were all very polite. I probably won't be back unless it's for a drink or something they don't make in house, like the oysters.

Came here for the first time over the weekend and really enjoyed this place. I love all the windows in the restaraunt so you can really take in the beautiful view it offers. For food started off with fried pickles and oysters then had some wings and a burger. I thought all the food tasted really delicious. It was a big group of us and our server was very sweet and attentive even tho we were a hectic crowd. Will be coming here again next time I'm in town!

The best thing about this place is the views! Great location! The food was very good. I enjoyed the clam chowder and the haddock sandwich. I apologize for not asking a photo of the haddock, I was 3/4 of the way through it when I remembered. The staff was great! Stop by and check them out. Tell me what you think!

We had a great meal here! But warning to tourists- ask what "market price" is for that crab cake sandwich before you order. It was very good, but the price just about made me faint!

I found Blue Wind Gourmet searching for Yelp to fuel up after a business meeting and before a long drive in the rain (east coast in February!). I was a bit confused when I walked in. The space is a wine and chocolate bar and has a hipster wine bar look which is suprising for the area. They also have sandwiches (including crab cake) and soup (crab & corn chowder) so I ordered both and settled in. Coffee for me, no wine (too early), but the wine selection looks impressive. The food came out in maybe 5 minutes, hot and fresh. The crab chowder was delicious, plenty of identifiable crab lumps and good flavor. The crab cake also had crab lumps, not just shredded crab. I did wish the sandwich was a bit bigger though. It was maybe about 3 inches square. Service was prompt and friendly too.

My wife started with a Cosmo, her favorite cocktail, and said it was excellent. We shared the strawberry salad lunch special and the Popeye burger with fries. The fries were an unusual and cool wide spiral cut, and some of the best we'd ever had. The burger was wagyu beef with Boursin and spinach. The salad had a nice touch of candied walnuts. We got dessert. The flourless lava cake and the key lime pie. Both were amazing and took us to the threshold of diabetes. This has to be one of the best restaurants in the area! It's absolutely wonderful.
