The nacho came with so much guac and the pork and chicken were definitely good too. What a great spot! Louisville friends brought us here as it's one of their very favorite and we enjoyed it immensely. We walked in to the sounds of a live pianist who was very talented, very pleasant atmosphere. The service was wonderful (thank you, Ken!), the food was even better. I had their burger, excepting the hot pickle because I'm a spice-wimp. The meat was a bit south of medium rare but I'm ok with rare at a good restaurant. Nice char. The Dijon based sauce was outstanding and really took this up a notch. Their french fries are shoestring type and perfectly delicious. RRR got one of the specials, the filet mignon, medium rare and it came out rare. Very rare. Neither of us send meals back to the kitchen unless it's inedible and he was able to eat it, just found some of it tough. His green beans were also a bit too al dente. The mashed potatoes were really good. We had no space for dessert but they looked amazing. So sad we couldn't partake. This will be our first go-to spot when we visit again! read more

I was always intrigued by the Pine Room when I drove by. So I was pleased to find out that it had the simple elegance, excellent service, and delicious menu that I would've expected when I visited recently. We went early on a Friday evening and had a reservation. I would highly recommend a reservation, and even going early is helpful, as this place is popular and got hopping pretty quickly. We were led to our booth and seated, before promptly being greeted by our server. We started with drinks - Harrods Creek Fizz for me - and ordered a round of mussels and fries to start with. The fizz was very tart to begin with and got a little less sharp by the end of the drink. I might try something else next time. As far as food, the mussels were really delicious in a coconut milk broth, and the shoestring French fries were perfect when dunked in some mayo (which we requested on the side). For our entrees, we all chose the salmon (which is gluten-free to boot!). We all agreed that the temperature, texture, and flavor were excellent. The couscous was a good addition but had some spice to it that I actually could have done without (mostly because I was sharing with our high chair guest and the spice didn't suit them). The place became a hive of activity as our meal progressed. People gathered at the bar and a pianist started up some tunes, which heightened the festive atmosphere. I've never been to this part of the city. The restaurant is tucked away among the trees. It's so charming and clean inside. I was only a party of 1 and was seated immediately. Server was great. I didn't order an appetizer so the food pace was off a bit, between getting my drink and entree but I understand. I ordered a mocktail Harrod's Creek Fizz Super yummy and not too sweet Entree - Salmon with pesto couscous This was sooo good Salmon was medium in temp which was perfect - moist and rich. Flavor was amazing. The pesto couscous was delicious. Panna cotta dessert - this was excellent too! Raspberry sorbet was refreshing. Whipped cream went well with the panna cotta. I'm used to panna cotta being a bit looser but the flavor was so good that it's okay! Highly recommend I originally wanted the cherry pie but it is a 15 min wait. Tonight was our anniversary dinner... 54 years. I chose The Pine Room because we both loved the original back in the day and my husband had never eaten here. Let me begin by saying the food and drinks were DELICIOUS! However, we had some disagreeable situations with customer service. First, our 7:00 reservation was treated initially as, "Well we should have a table in awhile, but not sure how long." This seemed odd to me since I had made it a few days ago..and was even instructed to not come any earlier than 15 minutes ahead...and it would only be held for 15 minutes if we were late. Finally, after getting our table (nice spot and only waited about 10 minutes), we ordered. Server gave us two specials not listed on menu and their prices. I chose the scallops she said were $38...I was going to choose halibut which was same price, so I asked which she preferred. She said both delicious and I chose scallops. When bill came, scallops were charged as $50! When we asked, server became a bit testy and said she told me that. I protested she had not, and she indicated I had raised my voice and was lying..my husband tried to calm her down but she was very loud and dismissive. She finally relented to give dinner at $38, but continued to protest that I had been loud and rude since I arrived..not true! Bottom line, we paid for our meal...I LOVED my dinner...but the customer service person (she was hostess and server) was one of the most rude, "in your face" people I've ever encountered in restaurants! The place was extremely busy and I assume by her encounter with other customers, she was friendly and compliant! I am just wondering why she had such an attitude with us! This is such a cute place on river road. I'll be come back for the decor and ambiance alone. All the appetizers my table got were amazing and I wish I remembered to take pictures. The brussel sprouts and pretzel bread with bourbon queso were so good but the real star was the cauliflower. Definitely will be going back to do an appetizer night here. I thought the appetizers were the best part of the meal. For my entree I got the bolognese. It was pretty good but I've gotten the fried chicken before and liked that better. I always enjoy The Pine room. They have good food and a nice ambiance with someone playing the piano. It's good for a date night but my teenage kids enjoy it too. We also hosted a celebration with family members here, which was a larger group. The girl waiting on us did a good job managing all the orders. The restaurant is a little smaller inside (it's quaint) but they were able to accommodate us toward the back of the restaurant. You can easily sit at the bar, eat dinner at the bar, and still enjoy the full ambiance of the restaurant. read more

I had a friend recommended I give this establishment a try, he ranted about how great it was, so here I am at The Pine Room in Harrod's Creek. I do not give five star reviews, no one is perfect (until tonight). Upon entering the restaurant you get that feeling this might be good. Great greet at the door, immediately taken to our table and promptly greeted by our server..it's going to be good. Cocktails arrived in a timely manner as did the appetizer..glazed cauliflower I'm not sure what the drizzle was but it tasted great Our server returned to take our orders, we all came for the fried chicken (I know right)? and one guest had the pork chop! Our food was delivered in a timely manner..and it was over the top delicious! The buttermilk chicken can only be tried by one's self, I can't begin to describe how moist and tender the meat was and the taste was wickedly good. Our entrees were served with greens mashed potatoes and a tasty little corn muffin! If they would have laid a green onion next to my plate, you could have buried me afterwards! The pork chop entree was a beautiful presentation and the guest loved his meal. The entire meal was outstanding. I like the ambiance a lot, there is a young man who plays piano as you dine he was very good. The crowd was a mix of old and new and you can actually hear each other talk. I made a reservation for Father's Day, and the place was unbelievably empty. At first, I was worried if there's a reason it was so easy to get a reservation, but now I'm just scratching my head. The Pine Room was one of the better dining experiences in Louisville! Why it was so empty, I'll never know. The food was great, and the service was friendly and attentive! It seems it's an older restaurant that relocated as the server spoke alot about history and the significance of the menu items. The restaurant was quiet with soft music playing, an older r&b Playlist that I really appreciated! Its a bright minimally decorated venue with the focus being shades of green! I had the fried chicken with collards and mashed potatoes and it was all very good. The honey hot sauce was phenomenal on the chicken and the collards were well done! The mashed potatoes were my least favorite but they were fine. Their burger is pretty good, though. I'll come back for that since my husband didn't care to share more than one bite! We also had a delicious tres leche cake and cocktails. Overall, I enjoyed my experience and I'll be back! I hope other people discover this great restaurant! read more

This is a nice little place down on River Rd that I had driven by numerous times and honestly never noticed. A friend recommended going here one night and made reservations. It was an unseasonable nice night that we would've loved to sit on the wrap around porch outside but they were full. Inside, it was chilly and we were sat in a corner where the A/C was strong and blowing directly on us. We asked if we could move and that was accommodated without hesitation. I ordered the Simple Salad and mussels for my dinner. I also ordered the cocktail Too Cute Too Pink. I liked this drink and don't know exactly what was in it but it was kinda like a strawberry flavored champagne, served with a slice of strawberry on the rim. My salad and mussels were both delicious and just enough. Plenty of parking available. Take advantage of the porch if weather permits. If we hadn't brought our 15 month old we would've had more time to enjoy ourselves and try more drinks/dessert and probably give a 5 star review. Why am I the last to know about a great place to go to, lol at myself sometimes. A good friend of mine wanted to go somewhere different than our usual stand by and overly frequented locations. From the minute we pulled into the parking lot i had a uneasy feeling because there were no cars there. Later learned that they do not open until 5. It was only 4:45but the lot got full quickly Food and beverage selection are great, food menu is diverse and even the pickiest of eater like my friend found many items to choose from. The Cesar Salad has a house made dressing that is as good as it gets. We split the steak . Cooked to perfection and served two great sauces. What a great find for us while vacationing in Prospect. We came in without reservation with a group of 9 at dinner time. The accommodated us seating us on the deck. It was a beautiful evening so the setting was perfect. Service was incredible for a group this size and sitting on the deck. I had a cheeseburger with fries. The burger was cooked perfectly and large enough I could not eat the whole thing. The fries were excellent as well. I had the cherry pie for desert and it was worth the wait, it was very good. Chicken came with a honey hot sauce I ordered on the side that added some nice heat. Chicken was crispy on outside, juicy on inside and nicely seasoned. REALLY kicking myself for having not dined at The Pine Room until tonight. HOLY MOLY! COVID SAFE- all servers, hostesses, bartenders, etc were eating masks appropriately. Guests were seated more than 6 feet apart and everyone wore masks to/from tables and restrooms. Everything was very clean; we felt totally safe. SERVICE- I wish I had gotten the servers name because she was excellent (although I did pay attention to her fun, black glittery mask because I loved it). She was perfect; attentive, helpful, witty, but not overbearing or too over the top. FOOD/DRINKS- we ordered margaritas; amazing. Fresh, perfect amount of tequila, and the salt was fine. For apps, I HIGHLY suggest (which means ORDER THEM) the nachos bc the pretzel bread. The nachos were almost too pretty to eat, but I took one for the team and finished the plate. The pretzel bread...do yourself a favor and go ahead and order TWO loaves. Warm, fresh crispy outside with a soft inside; served with queso. We split a burger, cooked medium, with a side of fries and brussel sprouts. Burger was cooked perfectly to a medium, bun was fresh and delicious. Fries were salted just right, crispy and the parm was a light, nice touch. Brussel sprouts may have been the best I've ever had.
