This is my first time to Boca Grande and I'm a vegan. I am staying at the Gasparilla Inn but went to the Pink Elephant for dinner. There was nothing on the menu for vegans and Chef George created the most amazing, most delicious began meal that I savored every single bite. He is amazing. Truly. If you are ever at Boca Grande go to the Pink Elephant and see Chef George. Best meal of my entire almost 60 years. And the bartender, Chelsea is amazing ( creative delicious drinks) and the staff like Admere are attentive and kind. Best place on the Island! read more

Wasn't sure what to expect ..... very nice upmarket eating place. Great menu, a wonderful mixture of option without overwhelming the diner. Soup of the day was a seafood gumbo, spectacular. Amazing flavors without overwhelming the dish with any one over the other. Fresh ingredients make such a huge difference!! What a lovely place! Our initial plan was to just drop by this place for a quick drink because our friends highly recommended it. Once we got there though, the vibe was so great that we ended up staying for a lot longer than we intended. The outside patio has a rustic charm to it with its wooden paneling and is very tastefully done. Just sitting out there on a nice sunny Sunday was enough to put you in a restful ease. Unfortunately, we had already indulged in a hearty brunch before we arrived at The Pink Elephant so no one was really in the mood for food. However, our server Cean managed to cajole us into trying 'the best thing on the menu' which was a Thai shrimp appetizer. True to his word, everyone was raving about it when it arrived. The highlight of the experience for me though was the maple smoked old fashioned. Arguably, my favorite cocktail, I'm very picky about the quality of my old fashioned's and have been unfortunate enough to have had some pretty terrible ones outside of NYC. The Pink Elephant nailed their version though. Artfully crafted with bulleit rye, maple smoked bourbon, muddled orange, cherries and bitters, it sent my mind and my taste buds into a bucolic tizzy. Although many other cocktails on their menu looked appealing, I loved my old fashioned so much that I had to get another! I'd go back in a heartbeat to this gem in Boca Grande. read more

We have been waiting to drive our boat over for lunch and we did today. The menu is very abbreviated but does include a few starters a few sandwiches and a few entrées. I think the highlights would be the hamburger at this point. Since we are local it is doubtful we will pay $38 for a grouper sandwich that we can get anywhere else! I like that the bartender has kept some interesting drinks. There was a very good basil cooler that tasted very yummy. My date did not particularly enjoy his Caesar salad nor his shrimp cocktail. We always think of this restaurant is quite special and with particularly interesting and good tasting food. Disappointed today and hope it's just a fluke. read more

Went for lunch. long line for overpriced food. The two cocktails we had were below average - way too sweet/artificial. We got the fish tacos and steak salad, which came highly recommended by the waiter. Steak salad was flavorful but the steak was overcooked and not worth $30+ dollars for a salad. Amazing gem on Boca Grande (a gem in of itself). The food here is high end and so are the prices but you get what you pay for and everything is $$ on this island. I had the salmon with asparagus and mushrooms. Delicious. Key lime pie for a little Noah after. Sat at bar and had spectacular service. There is outside seating here as well. Inside has short ceiling and feels older but the atmosphere and food is really all that matters. Go. Just go there. Thank me later. read more

Best food in Boca Grande. Great service and vibe. The only downside is that it's very loud in comparison to everywhere else we went. Wear your island pink and enjoy a champagne. I'd say all the food was great. One critique is the Lobster meatballs could literally have been any meat. There was no point in using lobster. read more

We visited last week when the island was still hoppin' busy. And this is really a 3.5 star review... Make no mistake, the food was delicious! Our problem centered around our wait... no reservations were being taken which is fine. We were told a 45 minute wait for an outdoor table, also fine. We found our way back to the hostess station timely and were patiently waiting in the chairs. At the one hour mark we were told our table was being bussed and we'd be seated right away. A minute later a very affluent couple walked up and asked for our table. The second hostess asked us if we'd mind sitting inside upstairs (an area that would have incurred no wait). It was clear we were out ranked. We stuck to our guns though and were given the table we'd waited our turn to get, but it put a bad taste in our mouth. I've never had that experience in any of the other restaurants here, shows an extra level of pretentiousness. read more

Don't come here if you are brown or Asian or not dressed like a rich person. My family and I are waiting out and the lady said wait a second and never returned. Another lady that looks like a manager looked at us and looked away and spoke to all the well dressed guests who cut in line and seated them. Meanwhile, I am handicapped from an accident and cannot walk properly and yet I am standing under the sun waiting to get seated and it's been more than 10 minutes with no one acknowledging us or asking us if we would like a menu or have you been helped. We were staying at the Gasparilla Inn for a work function and had a dinner for 11 people here on a gorgeous Sunday night in early October. We sat outside and enjoyed the breeze while savoring the restaurant's well-prepared food. We were split into two tables (which was fine) as they aren't really set up for groups. We started with a cocktail in their low-ceiling bar before heading outside for dinner. While service was on the slow side, it was partially our fault -there were so many good sounding choices on the menu ranging from salads, sandwiches and burgers up to filet mignon that we lingered awhile in choosing. Everyone enjoyed their meals. I had the shrimp and lobster roll with thick potato wedges (good) while my wife ordered the grouper Thai tacos (very good, and more than she could eat). Others at our table enjoyed the tenderloin filet, shrimp cocktail, scallops and roasted chicken. They've got a pretty good wine list as well along with a full bar. I've been going to "The pink" for more years than I can count. It has a fun, lively bar scene and the patio is a wonderful place to eat outside. During peak season (Christmas and Spring break) go early (before 6PM) if you want to eat downstairs or you might have to wait. Otherwise, book a table upstairs. The full menu is available both upstairs, and downstairs. It all depends if you want a more casual, dinning atmosphere (downstairs), or more formal (upstairs). The food is always delicious and consistent. Your best bet is to order the local fish, although their burger and fries are pretty killer! They offer a great selection of wines by the glass that are moderately priced and the bartenders are some of the best you'll find at mixing cocktails, especially Planters Punch which are an island favorite. read more

Recently went paddle boarding in Boca Grande and on the way to the beach we stopped at this little beach town. Most of the restaurants in the town were closed. (This town truly lives on island time). Anyways we decided to stop into the Pink Elephant since we were starving. First of all I love the name it is different and attracts your attention. Second the food and drinks are great. The service was good even though we were pretty much the only ones there. The menu is not that extensive, I'm not sure if this is because it was lunch time or what. So I would definitely want to check it out at night to see if they offer a different selection of food choices. This is really cute little gem. I would definitely recommend it to anyone staying there or just passing through. Beware the food is really really pricey. For example I had the black angus cheeseburger and it was 15.00 but it is worth it. The drinks are also pricey and strong but hey for being strong you get your money's worth. read more

My husband's choice of the Filet Mignon was perfectly prepared and the French Onion Soup was the best we both have ever had. I really enjoyed the Hummer thick, yummy, cocktail that a paper straw would not work with...Don't worry when you are handed a plastic straw the straws are environmentally safe. Another tip save room for dessert and a coffee the Bread "Donut" Pudding is delicious. read more

Decided to stop in here for one of their infamous Jalapeño Watermelon margaritas. 9 of us. At 2:30 pm. Yes, after the lunch hour. WEEEELLLLLL-we were not allowed to sit at an outside table because we weren't ordering food. I guess over $100 of cocktails doesn't count. Did I mention the outside tables were empty? The owner should be proud of Summer, the hostess. She would've held the line against the Nazis singlehandedly during World War 2, much less 9 50-something women. We WERE allowed to sit at the bar inside (not enough room) or outside on some benches. We chose the benches and had delightful service from Cean, a waiter. Hey- we still had fun but have now decided we ARE actually hungry. We'll head somewhere else! read more
