The Pint is definitely a place you come to watch the game and have some drinks. I came in on wing Wednesday for the half priced wings and some cheap happy hour drinks. Even though there was only 2 of us, we sat at a larger table, with a tv that was somewhat private to our section, which I liked. Hockey was currently on, and with me not being a hockey fan, I asked if all the tvs were synchronized or if we could change the channel for our specific tv. The waitress didn't know, nor did she follow up with an answer. We ordered 2 pounds of wings, one being the Nashville Hot, which was a dry rub, and the Sriracha Honey. I had asked for both to be well done and I don't feel like either of them were. Both the Nashville Hot and the Sriracha Honey were listed in almost the hottest wing section, neither were that. The Nashville Hot wings, were bland with inconsistent seasoning, meanwhile the Sriracha Honey was smothered in a sauce that was more honey than sriracha flavour. We also ordered the beer battered fries, which definitely weren't. They definitely came frozen from a bag, which is expected for a place like this. Wing night destination! My friend and I looked up Wing Wednesdays on Yelp and decided to hit up the Pint for 40c wings. I didn't expect all those flavours! They do 40cent wings 40 ways. Some of those flavours are crazy like key lime. We tried hot wings, buffalo BBQ, salt and pepper and creamy dill. They were all excellent. Top tip from the waitress - get hot sauce for the creamy dill wings. What a great combo. The service was hit and miss. the young servers do a decent job but there doesn't seem to be a serving standard. It's a pub more than restaurant so it's to be expected. A couple of things that would be great for Wing Wednesday is if they gave out wet wipes and a bone bucket. The wine was on special too so it was a great, cheap, friend date that we plan on doing more often. read more

This must be the place to go to catch a game, drink beer, and have wings, especially if you're in the 18-25 crowd. The night we were there, I was told it wasn't as busy as it could be as there were a few tables. Most nights it's so busy people are walking around looking and hoping for a free table but being exam time, it wasn't as bad. We went just after 6 and found a few free tables inside and there were some on the patio as well. It's great because they have lots of staff and we didn't need to wait long after sitting down to ask what we wanted for drinks. The menu is pub food with appetizers, burgers, and sandwiches. We shared an appetizer of the Thai Chicken bites and I found it a little spicy but my husband didn't find them spicy enough. It comes with green and red peppers, and rice, so it would be a meal if someone wasn't starving. Our main courses arrived shortly after we were done our appetizer. I ordered the chicken tzatziki wrap with the sauce on the side, and a side salad. The wrap had lots of chicken and tomatoes inside the naan and it was filling with the salad. The Pint is just what you would expect from a downtown bar - close to amenities but with its share of problems. My first complaint was the staff. While there were one or two people who were great, the majority of the serving staff seemed less than interested in being kind and helpful to the people who were helping pay their wages that night. Not everyone who comes in can be your friend, but at least be pleasant enough to them to earn your tips that night. The only thing that saved their rating was the food. Although it's your typical bar-style food, they have some pretty great options on the menu. My personal favourite was the poutine... I don't know what makes their gravy so different from everywhere else, but it was delicious! And I love that they have over 40 flavours for their wings and that you can get those same 40 flavours as dips for your perogies! One of our party members had the mac and cheese and said it was really good, so I will have to go back and try it! I feel like The Pint definitely caters to the university students that are milling around the 109th area, but it's not really meant for people like M and I. Yes, there are one or two good choices, but in a town where the craft beer scene is exploding...I really expected more. The service is slow. Really, really slow. Hubby got a bottle of beer and I got a "boot" of red sangria. It was without a doubt the most pitiful beverage I've had in years. Basically it consisted of wine and (I believe) orange juice with a piece of lime on the top. It was bad. We ordered wings and nachos. They were good. Pretty basic. Definitely not my kind of place. I really only find myself at The Pint for Paint Nites and Bar Trivia events. This isn't somewhere that I go out of my way to go to. It's incredibly loud and crowded. The way they've separated it into separate rooms means that each room gets crazy loud. The washrooms are ridiculous. I was here on a Tuesday night and the woman's room was absolutely filthy. It smelled awful. The garbage bins in the stalls are falling apart and dangling by one screw on the wall. There's almost always pooled water on the ground. Just gross. I try not to use the washrooms when I'm here. Service is usually decent. Especially considering the bar is FULL for trivia nights and most of us arrive around the same time. Food is really just okay. The servers here on a Friday 5:30 ish Feb 11/22 are absolutely pathetic. Sat for over 5 mins while the three beauty queen servers swapped stories (probably lies! Lol) at the end of the bar. Came here for 40 cent wings with a purchase of a drink. I am going to say these are the best 40 cent wings in Edmonton!!! It will be crowded and orders will be slow during Wing Wednesday but the wait is worth it. These are much better than the bony meatless wings from Hudsons on Wednessday and has the perfect crispiness and tenderness compared to O2s on Whyte. I've gone here twice for lunch and both times I felt full, but not satisfied. The ceaser in a boot is hilarious and note-worthy while the fish and chips was possibly the worst order I've ever made. (Which, in the defense of The Pint, what did I expect at a downtown pub in Edmonton?) Service has always been friendly, but surprisingly slow when the place was dead... I won't be going out of my way to eat here again, as the first two times were because of coupons and they didn't win my heart. Overall, their food seems to be trying too hard to be more than 'delicious pub comfort food' status but not hard enough to get "real actual meal worth blogging about" status. When you walk in, you're greeted with the smell of stale beer. I know this is a bar, but I've been to places that are clubs and eateries in the same place, and it doesn't have to smell like that. There were remnants of the party the night before (Halloween) on the floor (streamers, misc. trash), and a stale yam fry sticking out of the utensil caddy on the table. For the dish itself, Yorkshire puddings are not the easiest thing to do, and to make one this big and still be tender was impressive. The beef and potato stew was alright, but the potatoes were a little under done. The mashed on top, though, was really good with the saucy gravy from the stew. I went with two buddies of mine around noon and the place was empty. Think we saw one other person sitting at the bar. No biggie, it ended up getting decently busy by the time we left. Anyways, having 50% off the whole menu and drinks made everything very appealing. We shared a couple of appetizers and had a few drinks: - Beers ($7-8 each) - if only they were always this cheap! We took advantage. - Fish tacos ($11) - three basa tacos with decent amount of guacamole on the side. - Pulled pork tacos - you get three as well. Both were tasty and surprisingly good for bar food. - Pita dippers ($11) - naan bread and toasted bread sticks with three dips (hummus, spinach dip and tzatziki). The best was the spinach dip which was a cheesy spinach deliciousness. Not too heavy/rich which was a nice surprise. - Niagara nachos with added chicken ($16+3) - your typical chips but we added chicken on top. Little bit of vegetables, green onion, jalapenos, olives and tomatoes. We didn't need to order this but everyone was definitely full after this dish. Note - I wrote the regular price of the dishes. Food was good for bar food and waitress was great/super friendly. I've been here several times and it is one of the better places to go in Edmonton. About 3.5 stars sounds right. read more

When I came here today for the first time in ages, I was reminded of why I had such middling memories of this venue. The venue is poorly lit and there was remnants of food and other items from the previous night. Even the floor was mildly sticky in places. I understand that this pub gets very busy at night, but still the amount of mess that was still about the place at the early hour that we were visiting was really disconcerting. The one thing I do remember about this place is that there was decent stick-to-your-ribs food, and in that sense I wasn't disappointed when trying one of their Rodeo Week menu items: Beef Stew with Yukon potatoes, served in a large Yorkshire pudding. I really loved the Yorkshire pudding: it was my highlight of the meal as it was so well flavoured by the stew which moistened it quite well. I found the mashed potatoes really tasty as well. The fact that the stew also included regular potatoes seemed a bit odd when there's already mashed potatoes in the dish as well. The chef was really casual when he visited our table. The servers were also pretty casual. I kind of wish that the lighting was a little better. The table was really high in our booth which made us all feel unusually short too. read more

I have been to the other Pint location on Whyte Ave a couple of times and left feeling fairly unimpressed, but I thought I would give this Pint location a try. This past Saturday was a beautiful warm spring day and the launch day for the Pint's new Bulldog menu so I gave it a shot. Great friends make for a great afternoon, but the Pint itself leaves so much to be desired. The Bulldogs themselves were pretty bad. The margaritas came out neon green, which is never a great sign, and were sugary and watery. The ice slush was non-existent and they were a definite miss instead of a hit. We got some tacos and chicken fingers to snack on, and the tacos were just awful. Super sweet for some reason, tiny and very messy. The chicken fingers weren't bad, but the dipping sauce tipped over between the kitchen and the table so the bottom of the dish was soaked in sauce. This is all extra disappointing because the food and drinks are so darn expensive. $9 for a beer, and nearly $20 for three tacos is too much. Don't charge the same as some place like Earls or Cactus Club for dive-bar style food. Finally, our billing was a total mess. The Bulldogs were on special for $10.50, and they came on our bill as full price, and the upcharge to tater tots from fries was priced wrong. Also, the items for the four of us were mixed all up between the separate bills. Our server didn't believe us when we showed her the menu and the online ad for the price discrepancies and we had to do three rounds of bills before they were sort of correct (the server finally had to take the discount off manually). Sunday afternoon at the Pint with some other Yelp Elites trying a menu item for Rodeo Week. Beef and potato stew in a Yorkshire Pudding bowl topped with mashed potatoes. When the chef came out to speak with us, he looked bored, tired, and uninspired. The Yorkshire Pudding, while hard to make in the first place, was actually pretty decent. It was gigantic, but cooked all the way through. Even had crispy edges, which I love. The meat was tender, the gravy was dark and rich. The pieces of potato that I had in mine were under done, so that was a slight put off. The mashed potatoes on top were way better. Almost like a "half stew, half shepherd's pie" type deal. It was indeed tasty, and I finished it off. The atmosphere though, in the middle of a Sunday, was something to be desired. We walked in, and it took a few minutes of us gawking around, to actually be noticed. Not to mention, Halloween was the night before, and I'm sure the place was packed, but you could smell alcohol and just an overall scent of stale. There were leftover decorations, and old food sticking out of the utensil holder that was on our table. Glad I got to watch some NFL football on the TV, due to being put into a small, cramped, dark and overheated space. The serving staff were nice, but not very memorable. The Pint on Jasper is a bit of an Edmonton institution, filled with lots of beer, drink specials, burgers and best of all, wings! One of my favourite spots in the City to catch sporting events, the TVs are plentiful and there's not really a bad angle in the house. I love being in the pint for CFL games, hockey (hopefully playoffs for the Oilers this year) and most of all, during international soccer tournaments. The atmosphere for the international games is great. Also good for a Saturday night out if dancing is your thing. For me, I'm more about burgers and balls (sports balls that is). read more

I finally made it here to meet up with some friends over the weekend. The place is quite large and loud, but the menu is the focus of attention. IT is huge, with a lot more variety than in other pubs and bars. There is close to a page of wing options alone. The drinks are reasonably priced, and there seems to be a special almost very day. I had a steak sandwich, and it was made perfectly to order. The other food at our table looked great also, and included fish and chips, wings, and quesadillas. Some of the items looked very interesting and I hope to try, such as kebabs, a butter chicken bowl, and an appetizer of pieces of beef in mini-Yorkshires. A huge selection of beers is on tap, and you can get pretty much any other drink you want here too. One of my compantions thought the place was a bit shabby, but I found it to be a pretty normal atmosphere for the kind of establishment it is. I was back Tuesday night for their $19 Team Platter and $15 pitchers. I went with 2 other friends, and this was an winning combination for the night (too bad it wasn't so for the Oilers). We were able to watch the game with all of the speakers and TVs focusing on the game. It was not hard to find a table, and the waitress came immediately. The pitcher came within 5 minutes of ordering and the platter followed no more than 10 minutes afterward. It was a bit difficult to talk with my friends however, as the volume was set really high for hockey game. This made is difficult to communicate although it was not a loose-your-voice-shouting scenario. Its a different experience to watch a hockey game with a full crowd of people, and it makes the experience more lively and involving. The only other problem I had was the amount of time it took to receive the bill and wait for payment processing. This may have been attributed to by hockey game ending and everyone wanting to leave at the same time. Regardless, my friends and I already planning on going down again soon! read more

You can hardly hear anyone talk and it's loud. Probably best to come only for sports games. Staff is constantly busy, -"as for parking... Hah, good luck, you may find one in front on the street if not you'll have to hunt for one. Free for all. Food is typical bar food, maybe some diversity. Nothing too fancy, that i've seen. If they served grilled food on a hot platter then i'd give them props. Don't get me wrong though, the food is good. Place makes you feel a bit old when looking at the younger generation. Surprisingly a lot of Asian's come here it's big mix half and half of culture. Almost everybody on their phone, nowadays. Recommended for college kids only or anyone who has social alcohol cravings. Came here for a Paint Nite event and was kind of disappointed with my service! I came with plenty of time to spare before my event started and sat at the bar. I ordered quickly to make sure I had time to eat and pay. About 30 mins later I was still waiting for my food (poutine). Worried I wouldn't have my food I time I asked for my bill and paid promptly with cash. Leaving a $7 tip on an $18 bill I thought was sufficient. We were told we could begin to go into our room and I decided to find a spot. I asked the bartender if that was okay and she said she'd bring in my food. Another 10 mins passed and she came in with my food. Plopped it down on the bench and walked away. I asked for a fork and I got an eye roll... You'd think after an almost 50% tip I'd at least get a half smile... Nope attitude! Food was cold and fries were soggy :-( Kind of disappointing, and I doubt I will return anytime soon! read more

I LOVE the patio. It get's the sun from noon to 8pm, perfect for those Sunday fundays. And with decent drink / food specials you can have a blast. I don't have so much experience with weekend nights. The one time I went there and bought a single drink on my visa, they ended up charging someone else's $100+ meal to it. However, the manager handled things graciously when i returned. Although there are no drink specials featured on Wednesdays, the outstanding food (and can't-beat-it price) makes up for it. Who knew that The Pint serves brunch on the weekends? I didn't. And I was pleasantly surprised. Their brunch items were quite good. My friends had the Steak Benedict and they said it was delicious, although I have yet to try that. I've been wanting to, but I can never resist ordering their Stuffed French Toast, which is always a big hit. I went to The Pint with some friends to watch the Raptors game on Thursday. Overall, the experience was average. Let me tell you why: 1. Reservations: The Pint lost a lot of business as 80% of the resturant was reserved. This meant people coming in early couldnt even enjoy a beverage at a table before the game. Most tables were empty 3 hours before the game but no one could sit at them. When the game started there would be a table for 6 reserved with only 2 people sitting at it. Poor planning on the business side and a lack of accommodating the rest of their customers. 2. Staff: The lady serving us at the bar was wonderful. Her counterparts were quite lazy and stood around talking to their friends instead of working. Because of this, service was slow. Additionally, some staff members had reservations at the bar and actually asked other patrons to move their stools elsewhere as they had more friends coming with no reservations. It was very rude and off-putting to watch their privileged attitudes. 3. Food: We had some beef tacos and they were so juicy. The liquid was covering my plate to the point it wasnt enjoyable. Will not order again. 4. Atmosphere: The atmosphere was fun! The patrons were all in good spirits and no one was starting fights which was very enjoyable. I used to love the Pint but the sense of entitlement from the new staff prevents me from wanting to go back. read more

I didn't have very high expectations - I'd been to the Pint for "nights-out" a few times, but I'd never eaten there. They cater to your typical early-mid 20's crowd. Never really saw the draw if I'm being honest - always seemed pretty generic. The interior could literally be a Hudson's. We won a couple of gift cards around Christmas and now just had the chance to use them - so I can't really complain, since my meal was free. But hey, customer feedback is always important. We ordered the boneless wings to start, it seemed like they were frozen chicken fingers cut in half, as my fiance noted. I did enjoy them though & I liked the wide selection of sauces. Pretty hard to go wrong on those though, in my opinion. For the main I had the "ribs". They were called baby back ribs on the menu - but they were much different than any I'd had before and I wish I'd been fore-warned. They were individual ribs, deep fried so that they all kind of shriveled up. They had the same selection of sauces as the wings, which should have been my first clue I guess. Wasn't a fan of the sauce I chose either. Was so disappointed I ended up cooking ribs the next night just to satisfy my craving. Also - unbeknownst to us until the music cut out and UFC started blaring from every TV... it was fight night. For obvious reasons, we didn't stay long. On a plus side - they have house pints for $4 which are made by Wildrose. Went here for the second time yesterday, and have come to the conclusion: come for the cheap booze, but don't stay for the food. Seriously, the first time I had the deep-fried oreos and they were nothing to write home about, and this time I had ribs that were so salty I actually felt sick from eating them. Not to mention, the service sucks (I don't CARE if you're busy, you do NOT just ask only one person at the table if they want something else, and then walk off as the other people start trying to place orders), and they also managed to give us the wrong bill. The Pint is a Canadian pub that rivals Hudsons and the Canadian Brew House. The interior has a dark, warm feel, and I really dig the ceiling above the bar at this location. A great location for lunch -- as long as you get good service. Sometimes the kitchen is super backed up. But whenever that happens, management takes care. The food is great pub grub, and there are some outstanding and delicious healthy alternatives on the menu. My favorite dish here, aside from my old standby Nachos is the Beefshires, which are on special every Monday. Lots of different beers on top, and a ton of TVs on which to watch just about any sport you can imagine. With a great downtown location, if you haven't tried the Pint yet, you should give it a chance... on weekends, they even open up a dancefloor. I seem to end up here pretty often since one of my besties lives near by and their wing Wednesdays are such a great deal. A good bar to go to watch the game (if you do that sort of thing) or hang out with friends in the evening but at night I'm not as much of a fan. On Friday and Saturday nights there is always a huge lineup mostly consisting of drunk 18 year olds. It also gets pretty roudy, attracting the type of people that like to pick fights and throw chairs through windows. At least the place is huge so you can always find another table or area to escape the GTL crowd. The service also leaves something to be desired, I have yet to find a decent server that works here. Don't order anything other than wings. 2 stars for the wings and the nice waitress. The food was very disappointing. I know they're a bar and all but if you're going to have a full menu then at least know how to cook. The tacos were very bland and thin. The mac n cheese was just macaroni noodles with a blob of cheese and onions on the top. No sauce or anything. It was very dry and bland too. Our drinks weren't that great either. So disappointing. The only thing that was delicious were the wings. read more
