Unfortunately, we experienced really poor customer service. 1 star because my husband enjoyed his pulled pork sliders.

Sometimes I wish, but the COVID-19 virus just hasn't stopped my craving for ice cream.... In the…read morearea today I decided to head over. Yes, things have changed where customers need to call & order - then pay over the phone. Or, you can order & pay online. Approaching the lot there's a HUGE banner with the phone number making it easy. I parked, called in my order. The person who answered and took the order couldn't have been nicer and explained the procedure... which seemed so very strange. But again, I had a craving... nothing was going to get in my way : - ))) I was asked to wait 10 minutes and then approach the counter area, staying 6 ft back ( luckily it's marked). Then, a staff member will ask my name and put my order on the counter.... All packed with a receipt stapled to the bag. No problem.... I did as told and presto! there it was. I managed a Thank you before he shut the wimdow, grabbed the bag and proceeded back to my car. Opening the bag I noticed how well my craving was packaged.... A spoon and plenty of napkins added. Time to eat! I chose the simple flavor Danish Almond Cream which they've been making like forever.... The ice cream itself was absolutely delicious. The almonds seemed to be a bit chunkier than usual.... During this pandemic I've learned that my dentist's office unfortunately is closed... So being extra careful bc stillI chomped.on the nutmeats. All good! Okay, so the experience has changed ... And sometimes new ways take some getting used to... BUT, I was there to satisfy my craving. And this visit did just that!

Didn't complain because it was free but like, still a let down. I fear that Hodgies has changed their ingredients recently because to me the quality is noticeably different and lower. I am not fully sure about how the ownership between the locations is, but at the Amesbury location I am seeing the same problem. We bought a gallon of the strawberry ice cream and it was way too aerated. Had no substance or flavor and the texture was awful. Extremely disappointed as this has been my favorite icecream place since I was a kid. Tourists might not notice the difference, but us locals do.

I first reviewed this Dairy Queen back in July 2014, when it was still cash-only. A lot has changed…read moresince then, and in a good way. They now accept multiple forms of payment, which makes a huge difference because most people don't carry cash anymore. Being able to tap or swipe a card here has definitely improved the overall experience. This location is truly seasonal. They open in early April and close at the end of October, and on a warm day, you will see steady lines of people stopping in for a cone, sundae, Blizzard, or quick treat. Everything is served outdoors, and the parking lot is large enough that you rarely have trouble finding a spot. My go-to order has always been the classic vanilla cone dipped in chocolate. They make it well, and it's consistently good. They offer doggie bowls, too, which is a nice touch, though the portion size is small for the price. In general, the prices here run a little high, and the amount of ice cream you receive can vary depending on who is serving. When management is on site, you can sometimes tell the portions are more controlled. Still, the staff is always friendly and the service is quick. This DQ doesn't sell hot food, but if you're looking for soft serve, sundaes, Blizzards, or frozen treats, it's a convenient and reliable stop in Salisbury. The updated payment options, friendly employees, and easy parking make it worth coming back each season. A solid four stars, mainly because of the price and quantity inconsistencies, but overall it's a great place to grab a simple ice cream treat on the North Shore.
