This place is a disgrace. The young crew preparing pizzas are not friendly at all, they prepared our pizzas like those were free, gross!! Regretted so bad leaving 20% tip. When I asked for plates guess what? NO PLATES, SORRY! Those were the cashier's words. UNBELIEVABLE. The soda machine has no many options. Tried Orange Fanta and I barely filled the cup half way when it ran out of it. The same cashier: "sorry no more of that", REALLY!!! The soda machine is super gross, the place is not clean at all. Please if you want to save yourself a headache don't come here. ZERO customer service, disgusting the way they prepared our food, disrespectful, way overpriced for the quality of the food. I used to have a Pizza Press right across the street but it's been gone for a bit. It was fantastic & I was craving a pizza. I ordered from Door Dash & am a bit disappointed in this one. Crust was thinner than I recall, toppings very haphazardly topped; some slices okay, others no topping. Toppings seemed slim from what I recall & even with delivery, pizza was quite cold. The pizza is pretty good, but they are super disorganized. The last few times we've been there they forgot something from our order and it's a hassle to get them to fix it. I ordered 2 extra large pizzas , the Harold and Chronicle. i always customize the Harold, by adding garlic and caramelized onions in the base, easy on mozzarella and add some Goat cheese and finish with arugula, herbs and ranch. It comes out amazing. I had to pay a little extra for customizing it. They have raised their prices but so is every where else. I had a coupon so that helped a lot. They were very busy making lots of pizzas probably for Super Bowl and a kids party. I thought the staff was very nice and were working very hard to make the large orders and help me and other customers. We visited this place on Sunday night just in the time that store should be open and there were some customers . One of the workers, wearing a headset and making a lot of noise, started collecting chairs. When I politely asked him to be more gentle and quiet, he rudely ignored my request. Shortly after, before closing time, he abruptly asked all customers, including us, to leave while we were eating our food. When I inquired about his name, the Asian worker responded in a very rude manner, saying "CP with a capital C" in a dismissive tone . Another reason for my disappointment, which makes me want to give a zero-star review, is the state of the restroom. They had just cleaned it and locked the door. My friend and I, both pregnant, had soap on our hands and unfortunately found the restroom upstairs in the plaza blocked. We approached the pizza place and asked them to open their restroom door, explaining our situation and showing them our soapy hands. Shockingly, they refused, suggesting we find another restroom elsewhere. This response was incredibly rude and unhelpful. Overall, our experience was unbelievable. Was craving some pizza before our movie so we decided to stop by this pizza place located right next door to the AMC. There was lots of parking available. I grew up in this neighborhood, so it was very nostalgic for me to come to this movie theater that had actually been closed down for a while.. Anyways this reviews is about the pizza press not the movie theater lol. The way it works here Is you order your pizza kind of like chipotle style it's basically like an assembly line where you pick your toppings or pick one of their signature pizzas. We ended up ordering the Tribune pizza and a Caprese Chicken Salad both were just ok , the salad came in a plastic to go type container and the pizza came out in a pizza box even though we dined in, I would recommend using pizza trays and recycle bowls as to not waste so much cardboard and plastic. Also I went back to the line to ask for dried red pepper for my pizza and they sent me to the cashier to ask for it. The cashier was busy so I stood their for a good few minutes before another worker asked me what I wanted I let her know and she handed me like 3 packets, when I got back to the table I realized it was Parmesan cheese, not pepper ; ( note to manager keep red pepper and parmesan packets/ dispensers by the drink area or at each table. The staff is mostly youngsters and they all seemed confused AF,this place has a lot of potential. It's a nice little shopping area I think with some minimal improvements it could be so much better. read more

When interacting with their employees they seem unhappy to be there and not patient when some had questions. There is a lot of seating and the place is clean. This is one of my favorite pizza spots in Irvine! They have a great menu with options for everyone and what I love most is building my own pizza. The crust is delicious, not too thick or too thin, just right and all of their toppings are fresh. You can also get your pizza as a half n half which is great if you're sharing! There is ample seating inside and outside with the cute covered patio. Lots of drink options as they have the Coca-Cola machine! Also the parking lot is adjacent, so not a far walk at all. I Definitely recommend coming here if you're craving pizza! I do prefer this place over pieology as it's a similar concept. read more

I love the concept of building your own pizza and made to order. Really simple, you pick a size, pick your sauce, add your toppings (as many as you'd like), the staff put it through the oven, then add your sauce topping. This pizza is not too thin and not too thick. I am not usually a crust person, but this crust was fantastic. Everything was very fresh. read more

Out of all of the self-created, personal pizza chains, pizza press is definitely my preference. Their crusts are thin without being too paper thin/crunchy, and the serving size is big enough to take some home later. I enjoy the fact that there are no limits to how much you can actually put on your pizza. I like to do either a half/half red or white, or pink sauce. I also love their balled mozzarella. Pro tip- ask for pesto or ranch on the side if taking to go so the pizza doesn't get too soggy. read more

I came here last Saturday, and it was a mixed experience for me. Based off the food alone, I'd probably give it a solid 5 stars. The pizza was done perfectly, the sauces were delicious. I got the spicy red sauce, with all the meats, and then did a drizzle of basil pesto afterwards. However, when we went in, the workers seemed to be less than enthused to still have customers. I know they were closing at 8, but we came in at around 7, which I think is more than reasonable for dinner time. The employees did not give great customer service overall. At the end, when they were boxing up the pizza, the employee did not ask if I wanted any finishers. I had to expressly ask for it, and I actually wanted pesto and basil leaves, but was only given the pesto. My friend also got a pizza with me when we went. An hour later, he was throwing up and was having stomach issues. I figured it was probably just the amount of food he ate. But then at 2 AM, disaster struck for me as well, and I started having stomach issues. Turns out we had both gotten food poisoning from this place. Such a disappointment that we had a poor experience in customer service and with the food poisoning, because the food itself was actually very delicious and hit the spot for a custom individual pizza. read more

The women bathroom remained broken for months. The only men bathroom is grosser/smells bad every time we visit. The employee said it's not their duty to check the bathroom and clean it periodically. Hello manager, is this how you run a restaurant? Can you hire more staffs so they are not overworked. If you do have enough staffs, then please assigned the bathroom cleaning chart to maintain cleanliness and fix women's bathroom. I like this place because of their unique pizza dough! It is on the doughy and softer side relative to other custom pizza places similar to its kind like blaze and pieology. Very chewy and nice to bite into. In terms of toppings, they don't have as much meats and veggies compared to blaze. However, I would recommend not going too heavy on the toppings here since you want the dough and pizza to maintain its integrity in the oven. They have some unique options for cheese like smoked Gouda! As for sauces, their white sauce and red sauces are all good. I would say that their sauces are better than blaze. I love that they have roasted corn which is absolutely amazing on pizza!! I wonder why the other popular pizza places didn't think of including corn!? As for service, there were only 2 workers when I came in at 2pm on a weekday. The place was slow and I was the only customer. Yet, the workers were still a bit on the slower side. Pizza is eh. Ambiance is cool. Service is bad. The girl doing our pizzas was freaking out and confused the whole time. I asked her if it was her first day and she said... and I quote "oh no I've been here for a while. I just really suck at my job haha". The second part of that quote rang true as our pizzas were incredibly uneven with some parts having to much cheese while the other half was only toppings. Also took about 5-10 minutes for her to figure out the register. I'm disappointed in this location and won't be coming back here again. Hire better staff. read more

The line took forever. I was the 3rd person in line, but it took 20 minutes to get to the front. They're so inefficient even with several people by the toppings station because they only have one "pizza press" that they press the dough on. They need to figure out a better system. Maybe a second pizza press? Or perhaps just pre-press several crusts beforehand so everything is ready to go? Also, the toppings were not clearly labeled, the staff were unfriendly - no smiles or pleasantries, and the pizza isn't as good as Pieology or Blaze. They don't use a brick pizza oven, but instead puts their pizzas through one of those conveyer belt things. My dough tasted undercooked but some of my toppings were charred black.
