Sgt. Pepperoni's takes care of all the catering at the big events at our church and I knew they were capable of handling food for an English class. It was suffocatingly hot outside being summer. After placing the order for a Half & Half Specialty pizza of The Works and BBQ Chicken and a half tray of Pinwheels for 6 pepperoni and 6 meatball ricotta, my server offered a cup of cool water. They didn't quite have the 6 meatball ricotta so the supervisor asked if it was all right to fill with 2 extra pepperoni pinwheels. That was fine. They provided all the utensils and put the marinara sauce in individual containers. I was able to get on my way and arrive early to the class with all the food. This is one of my favorite pizzas in town. I've come here a few times and it is always great service. I stopped by for a solo dinner on Saturday night. I ordered 2 slices and a drink. I asked for a to-go box because the slices are rather large and I thought maybe I won't be able to eat it all. However, after that first bite or delicious pepperoni pizza, its hard to stop haha so I ended up eating both slices. My second slice was "the works" which has a bit of everything and in other places it would be known as "supreme". They had Parmesan and chili flakes on the tables which was a perfect combination. It was a busy night. As people were continually coming in to order. So my pizza took a bit longer which was weird because it was a slice so I imagine they would just heat it up. They were also out of coke. I ended up having come zero which wasn't bad but it wasn't necessarily what I wanted. The staff were super friendly. The space was clean. They had sports on all the tvs which was great to watch while I enjoyed my pizza slices. One thing to know is that parking in this plaza is difficult. You may have to walk a bit. But honestly, a little walk after this delicious pizza its probably what you will need haha read more

I can't believe I've never heard of this place until a few weeks ago. They have a couple locations but all in orange county (so kind of a bummer for me, but its worth the drive) The white pizza is so good and their cheese pizza is a straight up classic. I need to go back and try out some of the slices because they had so many options. The turkey sandwich was really nice and refreshing. The garlic knots are SO FLUFFY AND GOOD. The smores bar heated up is fantastic. I didn't really care for the oreo cheese cake but my husband enjoyed it. Parking was a breeze, service was great & the food was amazing. read more

We recently had Sgt. Pepperoni Pizza for our office lunch. We had a variety of pizza, some with meat and some vegetarian ones, and two types of salad. One of the salad was very unique. I haven't seen it anywhere else. It was a mixture of greens with some hard boiled eggs and something that looked like ham and cheese rolled into a pinwheel shape. Sgt. Pepperoni's has been my go to pizza place. While their regular pizzas are a solid four starts, I'm upping my rating to five stars because their pizzas of the month have been amazing! My favorite is their 'Shroom Pie with a cream base, fontina and mozzarella, sautéed mushrooms and arugula and herbs. It tastes like a pizza from some high end gourmet restaurant. Their Al Pastor Pie is a close second. I like Hawaiian pizza but this is even better with green salsa, mozzarella, al pastor, pineapple, caramelized onions, with a guac drizzle and cilantro. Highly recommend if you like Hawaiian pizza! Service is always good and friendly. One day I'll have to eat there and enjoy a beer! read more

Maybe we picked the wrong pizza, but honestly even Domino's tastes better to me. The only things we really enjoyed were the salad and garlic knots. We also had to wait about 10 minutes for a table, and the place was VERY loud -- seriously, bring ear plugs. The chairs were also very uncomfortable. Another issue was the pizza crust couldn't even hold the toppings -- if you folded a slice, everything just slid right off. To be honest, when my old coworker mentioned how Sgt. Pepperoni used to be one of his go-to pizza spots in the area, I was a little skeptical. Not because I don't trust his taste or anything (I certainly do), but because, given their close proximity to the UC Irvine campus, I couldn't help but wonder if they were actually good or more like the "great when you're drunk and in college, less so when you're an adult" type of good. Thankfully, I can legitimately say this place is a whole lot closer to the former and far from the latter! At a glance, Sgt. Pepperoni may not immediately look very impressive, but this place is awesome. Inside, the restaurant has a couple of TV's airing various sporting events, a small bar area with a variety of beers on tap, a few picnic tables and high tops, and a great outdoor patio area which is perfect for those warm Irvine days and nights. As for the menu, it's got a terrific selection of house combinations. In total, there are over a dozen different types to choose from, not counting their featured pizza of the month and the build your own options. If you aren't in the mood for a slice, they also have a handful of appetizers to choose from, as well as salads, sandwiches, and desserts. -- THE WORKS - Sauce, Mozzarella, Pepperoni, Mushrooms, Bell Pepper, Red Onion, Black Olives, Sausage, Meatballs, Garlic, and Parmesan Pretty standard version of a classic supreme, but the meatballs made it seem slightly meatier. Yet, even though I only got one small chunk of it, I still thought this was really good. The ratio of each topping was spot on and I love that they didn't skimp on the pepperoni. -- BRONX BOMBER - Sauce, Mozzarella, Pepperoni, Sausage, Jalapeno, Mushroom, Garlic, and Parmesan Given how similar the toppings are, this felt like a lighter version of The Works. In this case, while I do wish the toppings included some kind of vegetable, I liked the slight kick of the jalapenos and how this one felt a bit cheesier in comparison. -- MEATBALL RICOTTA - Mozzarella, Ricotta, Stan's Famous Meatballs, Garlic, Parmesan, Parsley, and Sauce Nothing amazing yet no less solid. Unfortunately, my slice only had a small dollop of ricotta and just a few pieces of meatball, but I liked how creamy the former was and how meaty the latter was. Plus, this was so cheesy! -- NASHVILLE HOT PIE - Crispy Chicken Tossed in House-made Nashville Sauce, Mozzarella, Pickles, Red Onions, Hot Honey, and Nashville Sauce This was the pizza of the month, but they should make it a permanent option because it was so good! The chicken was crispy (it's not fried), flavorful, and moist on the inside while the pickles, onions, honey, and sauce complemented each other so well. I'd come back just for this! -- ITALIAN SANDWICH - Salami, Ham Pepperoni, Provolone, Creamy Balsamic, Lettuce, Tomato, and Onion To be honest, I had minimal expectations for this, but it turned out to be pretty awesome! Not only did this have a good amount of meat in it, but I actually really liked the bread - airy, light, and crusty yet not the least bit dry. Delicious! Across each of the pizzas I've tried, I thought the crust on each of them was terrific - on the thin side (yet not too thin nor too doughy) and I liked how both the bottom and rim were really nicely browned. In addition, the other thing about Sgt. Pepperoni that stood out was the staff. Each time I've been here, the workers have all been so friendly and I appreciate how honest one guy was, in particular - "personally, I wouldn't bother with that one because the special is way better". Far more forthcoming than I expected, but the man was right! From the food, to the workers, to the space, to how their prices seem pretty reasonable, Sgt. Pepperoni is just a dope pizza place to have around, whether you're a UC Irvine student or not. Plus, I love how they have deals as well, including a lunch special (11am-2pm), which ranges from a slice and a soda to two slices, a salad, and a soda, as well as Happy Hour deals (slice and a beer/wine) and 50% off pitchers and bottles of wine. We were looking for a place to watch the Mexico World Cup game and Sgt Pepperoni came up. I called to make sure they were there showing the game and they were. The vibe was great to watch the game as they had TVs outside and inside to watch and they were able to turn the volume up. We got an entire pizza and a drink for us to share. We got the super bee (no franks hot sauce) and we loved it! The flavor was great. The crust was our favorite! We really enjoyed this location and will be back. I will avoid this location in the future and instead go to their Newport Beach location. The reason is that this location NEVER has my pizza ready on time. It's one thing when it's always 10+ minutes late and I haven't written negative reviews for that. However, tonight it was 23 minutes past my pickup window and they weren't even apologetic. The worst part was they told me "just 10 more minutes" so I waited around and my kids were with me and then it was another 13 minutes so 23 minutes of wasted time. If they would have just been honest and told me it would take an additional 20+ minutes past my scheduled pickup time (I ordered online like an hour before!) I could have ran another errand or got my kids something to do or anything but just waiting there and waiting and waiting really sucked. I love Sgt. This is the second Sgt. Pepperoni's Pizza location I have been to, same as the last one, really enjoyed the food. Pizza is very good, lots of variety with pizza by the slice with various crust options. The house salad was huge with lots of toppings and the blue cheese was excellent, one salad enough for 2-3 people easy. They also have beer on tap, deserts, etc. These locations are a play on The Beetles Sgt. Peppers, with Beetles photos, etc. on the walls inside. Inside has a good amount of seating, bench style as well as bar seating, they have TV's all around and they also have a large patio that looks like it is about the same size as the interior. The servers were nice, once we ordered, they bring the food out to you and made sure we had what we needed. Once you are done they clean up the tables for you as well. We were down in Newport for a conference and decided to check out Sgt. Pepperoni's Pizza Store as it was in between the two hotels. They sell pizza by the slice but we opted to get a 14 inch 1/2 Meatball Ricotta and 1/2 Super Bee. They were both super delicious. The Super Bee had just the right amount of heat and the Meatball Ricotta had delicious blobs of Ricotta and red sauce. You definitely need to get the free homemade ranch to dip the thinner crust in. You order at the front counter and they bring your order to you. The front counter guy was knowledgeable and friendly. They also have some great beers on tap as well. The pizza here is absolutely incredible. I honestly don't think they could mess it up. The wings, however, have a major issue. From the first bite, it's obvious they're over brined, either with far too much salt or left in the brine for too long. They're overwhelmingly salty all the way through. I had to drink three bottles of water afterward just to get rid of the headache, and the salt completely overpowered the barbecue sauce. Either skip the brining process and let the sauce shine, or find a different supplier if they're purchased that way. read more

Sgt. Pepperoni's has always been a reliable and comfort pizza place for my friends and me. We usually go to the one in Costa Mesa, but we're happy that one opened up in Irvine. My only experience with this store has been with online order and carryout, but we have never run into any issues with our orders and the food has always been great. The store itself has generous patio and indoor seating, my interactions with the workers have always been positive and they are proactive and helpful. There definitely is a lively feel to the store, especially with the various events that they run throughout the week. My go-to pizzas here are the Meatball Ricotta, Hawaii Five-O, and the BBQ Chicken. The ricotta and meatballs on the Meatball Ricotta are some of the highest quality and best pairings on pizza I've ever had. The Hawaii Five-O is a nice premium version of Hawaiian pizza, also with ricotta that complements it well. The BBQ Chicken is a solid sweet and savory option that goes well with any order. All of their pizzas have great dough texture, as well as flavor that stands out, but doesn't overpower the pizza. I also love that you can do 1/2 and 1/2 on their pizzas to get variety as well. If there's a solid pizza place to recommend in the area, Sgt. Pepperoni's is one of the first that would come to mind. I look forward to the next time I order from here! read more

I want to give zero stars but that is not an option. Had the worst online order takeout experience of my life. The whole point of placing an online order is to have a quick, easy in and out pick up experience. Not only do you have to wait in line just to get someone to help you in the "take out" line, but then you have to wait an additional 35-40 minutes because the food isn't ready. My husband's been wanting to try Stg. Pepperoni's for quite some time now but we've never just been able to make it happen. Thankfully we were able to finally make it by and it just so happened to be right after we had a full on sushi meal for lunch. We were both already full, but we were making use of our free time. Not only was the pizza good though, but service was great! David helped us out at the front and was really welcoming and friendly. We got the lunch deal where it was 2 slices + a drink for about $14, which is great since a single speciality slice I believe is $7.50. We got the Bronx Bomber and the pie of the month which I wish I remembered what it was called but I don't.. sweet heat something maybe? Both slices were really good crust with great topping combos. I'd definitely get the Bronx Bomber again and I'd definitely wanna come back to try more of their other slices. The pizza slices came out pretty quickly and toasty. A very good homey old vibe to the restaurant too with a little bar and a huge gum ball machine. There's an outdoor enclosed patio as well along with their indoor seating.
