So disappointing! There was no cheese on our pepperoni pizza. No arugula on our other pizza and no red sauce for our garlic bread. It was obvious that the pizza was just thrown together haphazardly. Came to Pizza Press for lunch to get pizza for my kids. There were 2 staff there working. One on cashier and the other making what was obviously a huge online order. There were 7-8 pizzas sitting there, not even yet baked, and she looked up and said " be with you in a minute." As I waited, she kept making more pizzas, tapping on her phone (which had the online order she was making), and after about 5 mins, and 2 more pizzas had been constructed , I asked her how much longer she thinks it would be before I could place my order . She said that it would be at least 10 more mins ... so my pizza wouldn't have even been constructed for 15 mins .... They were busy which is fine.... And that's not their fault. Poor experience though because : 1) 2 staff in the whole restaurant at lunch time? 2) if it's going to be 15 mins before my order can even be placed , the staff shouldn't say "be with you in a minute." Id rather hear that there's a huge order it will be about XX mins.... so I know to go elsewhere read more

They did a wonderful job for a group gathering we loosely planned for our daughter's friends visiting from the South Bay! We gave them a heads up a week prior for needing 7 pizzas, cheesy garlic bread, a salad, 15 cookies, and even mentioned preferring to keep everyone on the private patio. They had everything ready by the time we arrived with 12 hungry 3-5 year olds and parents after an afternoon at Pretend City. The quality is fantastic, thin chewy crispy crust that's reminiscent of NY pizza. They had a "Reserved" sign on the patio with all the tables moved together for us including the high chair I mentioned I'd needed. They were a bit short handed that afternoon, so we had to ask for the salad and cookies, but they even gave us an extra free caprese salad for our group! They were so friendly. Everything was nice and hot. The men's bathroom was gross per my husband (poo on the seat) so the moms had to take the kids to the women's clean bathroom. Overall we were really happy. They don't "hold" parties, so they were quite accommodating and gracious. We now have a soft spot for The Pizza Press in our hearts, as our get together was like a reunion for our dear friends. We will definitely be coming back as semi regulars when we make our trips to Pretend City! read more

I don't think I've ever had a bad pizza from here. My husband and I order from here pretty often. I always get gluten free (allergy) and I noticed the review before mine saying theirs was soggy... yes that usually is the case with a cauliflower crust (especially if you get lots of toppings like me lol). I always ask for them to push my pizza back so it cooks longer and I haven't had an issue with it being soggy. I love a crispy thin crust pizza! Service is always good, the employees are usually friendly and make good small talk. Worth trying if you're wanting pizza! read more

Straight up attitude from the cashier. He rang up our pizzas as they were being cooked. Once they were finished, he took a look over at them and asked if that was vegan cheese on my pizza. I confirmed. In a very condescending tone, he said: "Next time you have to let me know before you pay because vegan cheese is $1 extra." I replied: "Oh sorry, I didn't know. I can pay the extra dollar right now." He responded with more attitude stating that he'll let it go since he couldn't ring up the charge for just vegan cheese. Since he was being so mean about it, I insisted he take the extra dollar. So he huffed "Just put it in the tip jar." I'm sorry, what??? I'm not going to leave a tip for someone who is being disrespectful to a customer!!! Why should he get to pocket that dollar??? He absolutely DID NOT deserve a tip from me!!! I was livid!!! Though this was my first time at this Irvine location, I've been to Pizza Press in Long Beach where I was able to pay an upgrade for a gluten-free crust on a pizza. Let me say that again...the cashier in Long Beach rang me up for JUST gluten-free crust. So I'm really not sure why the cashier in Irvine was having such a fit about me paying for vegan cheese. Perhaps expecting the customers to know YOUR system of payment is a little self-centered. Maybe a bit more polite guidance next time??? Not to compare Pizza Press with other chains but at places like Blaze Pizza, they write VEGAN in big bold letters on the paper under your pizza so that by the time it gets to the cashier, they know how to ring you up. Also, Blaze Pizza stopped charging extra for vegan cheese a long time ago so it didn't occur to me that it might cost extra at Pizza Press. I would've happily paid the extra dollar! Came in last night on the 3rd seemed like they were closing it was my first time here. Usally when i come into store late at night all the staff is usally very lazy and seem like they just want to leave. Didn't catch his name but the guy who made my pizza was very welcoming i wasen't sure what to order as i am first timer and he told me to try the tribune and the hearld which me and 2 of my buddies demolished as they were so good. Last Saturday I went to this place for two pizzas. My wife instructed me to buy a Hawain and a Margarita. Sadly, as soon as I opened my mouth the young Bruce Lee-like (bodybuilder) cashier on duty aggressively started to reject my request in the rudest manner possible. In the end, I opted for being tolerant and placed my order as per their specifications on the visible board in front of me. Nonetheless, the young man's apprehensive hostile behavior continued until a young assistant witnessing the incident politely came to my rescue. After that sour experience, I am still trying to understand the reasons behind the aggressive and savage attitude of this young man that day; and I am wondering if it was just because of my seniority as a 70 years old man sometimes unable to express myself or it just was because of my DARK skin African-American ethnicity. read more

3.5 stars. I'm loving all of these build-your-own pizza places and Pizza Press is no different. Pretty much the same as Pieology, Blaze, Mod etc, just variations in the toppings offered and slight differences in the price. At Pizza Press, it's $9 a pizza, but they were recently running a facebook bogo promotion, which made it a super good deal. I'm no pizza expert so I can't really tell you what sets Pizza Press apart from its competitors, but I can say that I love the option to top my pizza with arugula and balsamic glaze after it's done baking. I'm also a fan of their pizza dough. Everything tastes very fresh. I do agree with other Yelpers who said their service is a bit on the slow side. I can't imagine how they would handle the lines I've seen at Pieology. However, every time I've gone, it's been pretty empty and I've always been first in line so it's been okay. Located in the Woodbridge village plaza near the Woodbridge movie theatre. There's also Yogurtland and Cha for Tea in the same plaza. Huge parking lot. read more

I arrived at 11:20 and the doors were locked. I called inside and they said "hang on, we are working on a food order and will open the door in just a minute." Then someone unlocks the door and walks away- no acknowledgement of me or apology for the doors being locked 20 minutes after open. I go to the counter and let them know I am here for my pickup order. They said they were working on another order that came in before mine and it would be another 10-15 minutes. This happened AGAIN! All o ordered was 1 cheese pizza. What is wrong with this establishment? You need to fix your online pickup times. read more

Better version of pieology/MOD. Crust and dough is better, ingredients are fresher, just overall tastes better. Generous with the meat portions. Sits better in my stomach than the competitors too. Minus a star because the ricotta cheese is all the way at the end of the line with the vegetables. This means when they ask for cheese and you say ricotta, they say they will get it at the end. Except they forget. We came at a decently busy time, ordered 3 pizzas with ricotta, only 1 ended up having ricotta. The other 2 were forgotten. I don't get why ricotta is all the way at the end and far away from the rest of the cheeses. When it's busy and the employees are stressed, it makes it easy to forget. read more

This was a dissapointment. The toppings were fresh, but the crust was under cooked, and frankly, pressing the heck out of a crust doesn't make for good crust. Also, there was no iced tea, but they didn't have a sign on it saying so. The diet coke came out watery. When I mentioned this, they managed to fix the iced tea. Of all the build-it-yourself pizza joints, I think Pizza Press takes first place. The fad of making your own pizza follows in the footsteps of Subway and Chipotle with building your own fill-in-the-blank. It's a nice way of customizing your meal but can be quite time consuming. I thought the quality of toppings and dough are better than the competition. The base of the pizza is important so that you can hold the toppings especially if it's top heavy. With that said, I created my own pizza so that it was guilt free. Mostly greens and lighter options. It was a bit of a wait given it was opening day but well worth the wait. I was hanging out with friends in line and enjoying their company so the time flew by. I will definitely be back! read more

The best thing about this place is the staff! We had a party of 130 people (65 adults + 65 kids) and the staff at this location came through with 60 pizzas flawlessly. The General Manager (Jason) and the manager on the day of the event (Anthony) ensured all our pizzas were ready in time after we watched a movie at the next door AMC Classic theater. Although Jason was supposed to have the day off, I was surprised to see him on they day of our event helping his team prepare all the pizzas (what a great leader). Since we were hosting our son's birthday party in the Woodbridge Village, the staff was especially helpful getting all the pizzas set up outside. On top of the awesome staff, the food (and beer tap selection) are great. This place is new to Woodbridge and is a great place to eat and hangout. When I checked in today and saw it was like 3 stars now, I was in disbelief and attributed it to probably being just the service being slow (which is fine even though it is slow) but after eating here, I see now why. Three stars because the pizza tastes good and in this case its just bad management. Every single time I've visited this location they have been out of something. Papers plates, ranch, forks. I understand every once in awhile but its literally everytime we have been it's been something. Also if you arent going to provide changing tables in your restrooms at least make sure your staff is on top of keeping the bathroom clean. Its VERY unpleasant having to get on my hands and knees and put my baby on the floor just to change his diaper, but it's even worse while I'm surrounded by dirty paper towels all over the floor and overflowing trash bins. If I could give this place a 0 star review I would. The food here is good for the most part but the service is awful, this one girl in particular I believe her name is Kathleen? She works as a cashier. Always in a bad mood, always rude and always rolling her eyes when making a request. If you don't like to deal with customers, maybe this isn't the type of job for you. This is one of the reasons why I don't like coming to this location because I know I can't make any requests without getting an attitude from her. Maybe in the future I can have a different employee take my order? Too bad she's always there when I decide to stop by. On the other hand, there is this other girl who is really nice, welcoming, not in any rush but tries her very best to get the order of toppings desired correct and asks without pressure if there is anything else she can help us with! I wish I got her name, but the other worker - Kathleen has been very unpleasant all of the times we have stopped by at this location. Also I have noticed on at least 75% of the review responses from the "business owner" that each response is generic, whether it be from years ago, 7 months ago or even more recent. It seems the "business owner" takes each review lightly or doesn't make any efforts to change the service side of this place. This was a very good experience. The place was very clean and it had very good food. My sons shared a lemonade and one of my sons said it tasted like it was made with real lemons and sugar.
