I lived in Dunkirk for several years, but the changes that they have made to the pier and boardwalk are really unbelievable !!!! Shops & restaurants and this gem!! Let me be very clear in saying that there are maybe three tables inside; this is definitely a grab and go restaurant . However there is a huge patio with many many tables even if they are full, which is doubtful, you could certainly grab a spot on the boardwalk nearby . We happened to have a beautiful night and we have an event to go to at SUNY Fredonia so a friend recommended this place . We waited about 15 minutes to place our order. After ordering we enjoyed our drinks out on the patio while we waited for our food. I opted for an alcoholic beverage while my son had a virgin piña colada. Our number was called maybe 15 minutes later and we were served absolute deliciousness. My son ordered the California, which was a delicious crispy fish sandwich while I opted for an Asian chicken wrap. Our food was absolutely delicious. Served just right. The food temperature was perfect and the portions were ample . The service was wonderful. If I ever come upon a beautiful night again in Dunkirk, I will definitely be visiting this place !!!!

This was one of the highlights. But first- a warning! Be careful how you book a table here. I went through a link on their website and it carried me to a booking site that they no longer use. Tock perhaps? It's been a couple of weeks and I can't recall exactly. But it's better to call the restaurant directly and book through them. Because of this snafu beyond my control, and a late flight into Buffalo, we almost did not get to Dine at Weinkeller, which would have been a huge loss. Thankfully, the hostess was able to work something out and they got us in. We are so glad they did! Everything was so delicious! The Goats cheese was awesome and I can't stop thinking about the amazing Kona rubbed tenderloin! I'm not too shabby in the kitchen myself, but my wife's Cedar plank salmon was perfection- crispy outside ,juicy inside. Also, can we talk about my daughter's Chicken noodle soup? Sooo good! We were purely here on a quick getaway to see the Falls, so I can't imagine myself ever being in this area again. But if I were, I would HAVE to revisit Weinkeller.

She was also very good in communicating with the kitchen regarding the food allergies and everyone at our table was very pleased with the dinner experience.

My son enjoyed his Connecticut roll. I had the California lobster roll with avocado and wasabi crema. So good. They come with house made chips seasoned with Old Bay. Very good. Not greasy. Next time I want to try the lobster tots. They have a cooler with soda, beer, and wine minis, as well as a slushy machine. Service is fast and friendly. Lots of outdoor seating. The location at Olcott Beach is great. It's right by a small ferris wheel, and in walking distance to the shops, beach, carousel park, and Krull Park. A great addition to the town.

Well I'm happy to say that I was not deceived, these were fresh and of good size ( we got the sampler). I was most impressed by Connecticut roll and the Fire roll, the New England wasnt bad just didnt hit as hard as that buttery or spicy taste. The kids tenders and tots, the little yelper crushed those and left super happy. The only meh thing for me was the clam chowder, I love a thick chowder and the misses loved this one because it wasn't. We agreed to disagree on this. But absolutely great experience overall and we are looking forward to visiting the new Lewiston spot next.

The food and drink are always exceptional. Whether you order off the regular menu or grab one of the specials, it's always exceptional. We've been several times now and gotten the cajun pasta, meatballs, fish of various sorts, crab rangoon appetizer, etc. Everything always comes out in a reasonable amount of time - never too fast or too slow - and is always solid. The cocktails are also on point with both the classics and a couple modern takes here and there. If I had to pick on anything (aside from trying to sell A5 Wagyu for $160 and claim it's breaking even), is the menu they put on their own website. Someone took a grainy cell photo and put it up there. Come on guys, some has the digital original. Just copy/paste. All in all, fabulous place that I can't say enough good things about. Make sure to get a reservation well in advance or you won't get in, especially on a busy night!

The restaurant itself is beautiful with a great atmosphere. We did get quite a few stares from other patrons throughout the night, which made us feel a little out of place, but the owner was incredibly kind and welcoming and that didn't go unnoticed. My sister and I both ordered the steak, while my mom got the braised short ribs. I added lump crab to my steak, which I honestly could've done without. It came with a butter sauce, but the crab itself was dry and pretty lackluster. The steak was good, though my green beans were a bit too undercooked for my liking. The real star of the table was my mom's braised short ribs. They tasted like pure comfort food, almost like a really good pot roast. The gravy and mashed potatoes together were perfect. Overall, it was a good meal, but I think my expectations were just a little too high going in. I'd come back, but next time I'd be ordering the short ribs. 7.7/10

Also many people waiting to pick up orders, so the front was also too busy for getting pix. Another thing I would recommend is sitting at table instead of booth. We sat in a booth. The problem with the booths, or at least the first booth from door, is either the seats are too low or the table is too high. Terrific fish fry: haddock with two sides. Loved the light breading on this. Also available is the Buffalo classic fish fry-- beer battered and fried, standard sides... fries, Cole slaw, mac salad. Very interesting menu. Inviting. So I will be accepting the invitation to come back for the Portside (lobster sandwich), and for the seafood fries. More reviews to follow. Very personable employees, enjoyable decor. Music a tad loud, and incongruous. I read a review from last year that described the music, though also too loud, as R&B. That sounds just right. Maybe dance music gets people to eat faster, desirable for quicker table turnover. There were people waiting for tables as we left. Only negative for me was thin ranch dressing and thin tartar sauce.

He is amazing! I've been wanting to try the seafood fries, and while the flavor was spot on, there was a noticeable lack of seafood. I doubt I would have that again. We had been driving past this restaurant for the last four years. It sat empty for what seemed like…read moreforever, but the name always caught my attention. When we noticed it had finally reopened under new ownership, my husband and I were genuinely excited to give it a try. Today (Sunday, July 19th), with clear blue skies, no smoke, and one of those perfect Niagara summer afternoons, it seemed like the ideal place to meet friends for lunch on the patio overlooking the Niagara Parkway. Unfortunately, from the moment we arrived, the experience steadily went downhill. Shortly after we were seated, the band introduced themselves by announcing they were there to "make some noise." They certainly delivered on that promise. The volume was so excessive that the restaurant windows were literally vibrating. It became impossible to have a conversation, even while seated inside with the patio doors closed. Every time the doors opened, the noise was overwhelming. We watched customers leave because they simply couldn't tolerate it anymore. As someone who has spent decades in the restaurant industry as a Director of Operations and Director of Training--and who has also been trained vocally and sung most of my life, I appreciate live entertainment when it's done well. This wasn't. The singer struggled throughout the performance, the drummer never settled into the pocket, and the bass consistently lagged behind the beat. It sounded more like an unrehearsed garage band than entertainment that enhances a dining experience. Live music should create atmosphere, not drive customers away. The service was equally disappointing. Our server mentioned she was "new," although she also said she'd been there for a couple of months. New staff aren't the problem--lack of training is. Simple service fundamentals were missing throughout our meal. Empty glasses and finished plates remained on the table long after they should have been cleared. Drinks weren't delivered promptly because staff seemed more engaged in conversations with each other than watching their tables. There was little evidence of anyone managing the dining room or coaching the team. Then came the food. It arrived hot, which is always appreciated, but that's about where the compliments end. The tzatziki bore little resemblance to authentic tzatziki. It tasted more like sour cream mixed with relish than yogurt, cucumber, garlic, dill, and lemon. As a matter of fact, there was no garlic or dill in it at all. The rice was so heavily salted that it was inedible. The "Greek salad" was simply a bowl of lettuce with a few rings of red onion, three olives, and some feta scattered on top. A traditional Greek salad (horiatiki) is built around fresh tomatoes, cucumbers, red onion, green pepper Kalamata olives, feta, olive oil, oregano, and either red wine vinegar or lemon. Lettuce is rarely part of an authentic Greek salad. None of us expected perfection. We just wanted to try a new restaurant, sit on the patio and enjoy some time with our friends - that didn't happen - Instead, we left wondering how a restaurant with such a prime setting could miss the mark in so many fundamental areas: atmosphere, service, training, and food quality. A spectacular location can attract first-time guests, but only a great dining experience brings them back.
