My in-laws brought my husband and me here for his birthday. It was a slow night that night so very quiet. They have a good beer selection so I got the flight. Their pizzas come out on planks and look like flatbreads. I had trouble deciding between the Jamaican and Birria but I ended up with the Birria. It was good but I kinda wish I went with Jamaican. Birria had a ton of cheese covering the beef and I wanted more beef on it. But the other pizza the other 3 got were pretty good, especially the Bangkok. The Plank is the epitome of an okay place to go grab a bite and a beer. Nothing about it is fantastic from location to seating - but the beer selection is good, and if you're looking to chat with a friend, grab a beer, and have a pizza at not a high price this is a decent place to do that. The elotes were actually pretty good, and a lovely summer treat - though just not as good as I wanted them to be. The pepperoni pizza was about as mid/standard as could be imagined and the Birria pizza had big visions, but didn't taste as good as I wanted. This is a very cute spot. The interior is cozy and cute and they even have a patio to sit outside on a nice day. Our waiter was very sweet and kept checking on us. Love this place! The food is always good, and you really can't go wrong with anything on the menu, and I've been here a few times throughout the years. This time I tried the butternut squash soup, which was good, but could use a more flavorful bread. This time around I was able to try a lot of their pumpkin beers, which were all great except for the Jack by Urban Artifact, just not my cup of tea as far as yam beers are concerned. Came here on a Saturday afternoon and got seated right away. This place has outdoor & indoor seating and the outdoor space is cute with some string lights and heat lamps. It's a cute place that has plenty of seating for a casual group hang out. We got the infamous spinach dip bread bowl and it was pretty good but I wouldn't say it's the best bowl I've ever had. I wasn't a huge fan of the chips, but the spinach dip bread bowl itself was really good! We also got the RED pizza and it was surprisingly so good. The pizza dough itself was so light and fluffy and I loved how simple the pizza was. It was definitely one of the better brewery pizzas I've had. The forks are small and flat, so it's very hard to eat with them, they don't pick up your food, especially if you get a salad. Also forget about cutting anything. Every time I tried to eat, I felt that I had a tongue depressor in mouth and it affected the taste of my food, hence the 3 stars. Not being a beer drinker this left me a little on the outside. They do not have a full bar so that left me with soda. All sodas are bottled so no free refills. There is a food menu focused mostly on pizzas and appetizers. Had the clam dip which was good. The bread bowl tasted more like a bagel than French bread. The Cajun wings were dusted with seasoning and come with ranch. No sauces available. The pizza options do not include standard options like pepperoni or sausage. Happy hour is buy one app, get one half off. Service was great. Server was very knowledgeable about the various beers. We were attended to with regularity. In all a very good experience. read more

I actually have not been to Plank Pizza in years and finally went back recently for dinner. Their specialty are of course pizza and beers. They have a variety of pizzas that are made fresh with some fun flavors and also a pizza of the week. There is also a great variety of beers on tap that you are able to order in different glass sizes so you can try all that they have available. We started with the cheesy crab dip bowl and it was served with sourdough bread pieces for dipping. We also had ordered the Cajun wings that were very crisp and had a nice Cajun seasoning with a bleu cheese dip. Our pizzas came out not too long after. We shared the bacon white, the CAB, and the bbq pulled pork. They were all so delicious and cheesy and so flavorful! We loved them all! Overall it was a great visit. Plenty of cool bar food to choose from included avocado spring rolls (never tried anything like that before) and loaded tater tots (super crispy). For the pizzas, they're perfectly portioned to fill you up, I personally had the artichoke pizza. Taste was great, just wish the ends were filled with more toppings, felt a bit sparse. We stopped here for a bite to eat on a Sunday late afternoon with the kids. The last time I was here was about 5 years ago & it was pretty amazing. We got the kids root beer and the blueberry tea. The server places a root beer bottle (glass) in front of my 4 year old. We had to wave him down to get a plastic cup or something. They have a kids menu and high chairs so I don't think it's unreasonable to expect kids to get their drinks in plastic cups & not actual glass bottles. The beer options are wonderful but the food went downhill. For appetizers, we ordered the pretzel bites and loaded tater tots. The pretzel bites were greasy and stale - at least a day old. The cheese dip broke (meaning separated) and it just looked suspicious. The tater tots were so greasy, the paper they were on was soaked. The pizzas were greasy and lacking in flavor. read more

I have been coming here for a few years now and Planks is my go to craft beer spot. There are so many options to choose from, also a great selection of non-alcoholic options, and no hard liquor. Every server I've ever had here is friendly and funny which makes the experience even better. The food options are fantastic and always keep and eye on what their specials are. The inside has an industrial simple feel to it and there is also the option of outdoor steering with provide heat lamps if needed. This is a great spot to come during the summertime and grab a beer. They have a wide variety of options and a great happy hour special of half off cans/ bottles. We ordered a bunch of appetizers and weren't that impressed. The best appetizer was the cheesesteak eggrolls. The other apps we ordered were the garlic wings, avocado eggrolls, and loaded tater tots. The wings had more fried batter on it then chicken. We weren't a fan. We were too stuffed to try their pizzas but maybe their pizzas are better than their apps. Went to Planks Pizza for a friend's birthday celebration. Was about 20 of us and place accommodated us nicely in their high top tables. Appetizers are phenomenal here, the different types of eggrolls and beer are enough to go hang out here for. Main pizza I got was the loaded potato pizza, now these are more flatbreads then traditional pizza so can't rate them as such, but nonetheless they were enjoyable to eat and snack on while having a beer. Was there for about 3 hours and didn't feel the time pass. Staff was friendly to our group and the 40+ types of beer are a plus. My only complaint would be that some of the pricing on the flights of beer aren't too clear, doesn't seem theres any discount for getting it other then the wooden block they come in. Also some of the beers weren't updated so it was a bummer to hear at the end to "just pick a different one". Regardless I had an enjoyable experience would go again type of place. read more

Plank Pizza for the win again! My boyfriend and I visited a few times during the pandemic and love it here! It was our go-to spot! We were recently thinking back and unsure how we forget about this place when wanting to dine-out. We visited on a Monday evening around 5:30/6pm. We were greeted as soon as we walked in and were seated right away. People were mostly sitting outside and few tables were occupied inside. I opted for indoor because my last visit over a year ago we fought off more than the usual bugs/flies lol not always the case as we had sat outside before that with no issue. I'm just scarred from that one time haha. Generally though, I'm usually one to prefer indoor seating for several reasons. We ordered a kid's meal for my son. It's a smaller version of their personal pies and you have the option of 4 tater tots or tortilla chips. Unfortunately, I didn't take a picture because my toddler dug right into pizza. The hash browns were thick and now what I expected lol I honestly read the menu and I was like "4 tater tots?" expecting the small ones I'm used to like from the school lunch or Sonic (& totally always think of Napoleon Dynamite too!) I found them to be pretty good but my toddler didn't even touch em. I do think they may have been a bit too hard for him regardless- really wish I took a picture of them. They may have just been a bit overcooked which contributed to how hard it was but not sure if that's just how it's normally cooked. My boyfriend and I ordered cajun wings, the BBQ pulled pork pizza, and the C.A.B. (chicken, avocado, bacon). My boyfriend enjoyed the wings which says a lot because he's the type to order wings everywhere we go. They were good but I'm personally not a fan of dry rub in general. I tried a slice of his C.A.B. pizza and it was good! He liked it as well. Now the pulled pork pizza - DELICIOUS. I honestly could've ordered another one but I fought the urge lol. Definitely looking forward to planning another visit so I can have it again. I'm not a beer person but their menu was appealing to me. I loved how descriptive it was. I expected my son to be cranky as he had skipped his nap that day but he surprised us. He was waving at staff, giving them fist bumps, etc. The staff was super friendly and engaged with him as well which we appreciated. The staff in general was extremely friendly, our waitress was really attentive, and I was super appreciative of the friendly staff interacting with my friendly, semi- shy, delirious son lol. We scored an order of churro fries thanks to someone super friendly who was enjoying a meal at the table next to us who had been engaging with our son. I believe it was a staff off shift? Not sure tbh but my son and boyfriend dug right into the churro fries which did not allow for a picture. It comes with a caramel dipping sauce. I recommend if you want a sweet treat after your meal! We were slightly disappointed when we saw one of their screens display the 'pizza of the week' because it looked good and we had already gotten our food. Next time we know to ask what the pizza of the week is - and you should too! It is alongside a shopping plaza so there is a parking lot. Not sure what it looks like on the weekends/busier days but we've never had an issue with parking. All in all, we will continue coming back here. We really enjoyed our visit (as usual). Yes, it is a bit pricey and the pizzas are a bit on the smaller side but the quality of food and the great staff makes it all worth it! Highly recommend to all and especially to those who are beer lovers as they have a large variety of unique beers from local breweries. I must add that the ambiance is great! Being from California and only visiting it was a bit uncomfortable outside since it was beyond hot and humid. Seems like fans or misters would be a good idea. The waiter came around quickly and took our drink/food orders. They food and drinks came in an adequate about of time. Sourdough Pretzel Sticks: Fully and very filling queso sauce was delicious Crispy Artichoke: Not a huge fan, very big pieces and difficult to chew through Churro Fries: I like the concept, but they were over cooked and hard BBQ Pulled Pork: 10/10 wonderful flavor so good and would get again The Red: Always a good and safe choice Frito Chili Pie: Interesting concept but the bread was way too flimsy and got very soggy I did take away one star because the outdoor seating picnic tables were extremely uncomfortable, and I was always sweating. Great concept and venue! Beer gardens are far and few in the Bergen area, and while this place isn't a beer garden, it looks and feels like one. The indoor area is spacious and the outdoor area is nice too. You have a great selection of craft beers and if you come for HH, they have fantastic deals on them. The staff is friendly and very helpful and the play good music here too. I want to frequent this place more but the one major miss for me here is the food. I've tried most, if not all, of the apps here and a few of the pizzas (although haven't tried the tacos yet), and for some reason, they just don't satisfy my palate. None of the dishes are bad per se, but none of the food items make me want to come back for seconds. The apps all seem like boring variations of each other and their wings and dips were not good. Tater tots and egg rolls are good but after a few bites, I got tired of them quickly. The pizza is ok here but surprised they don't have more traditional flavors. I didn't have any beers (working) :) but they do have a large selection. I was intrigued by the tater tots in the menu because they are "house made." I actually loved the tots, but was not a fan of the sauces. The queso didn't really taste like cheese and the jalapeño sauce didn't have much bite or flavor. The tots themselves were fantastic and I bet they would be better with the right sauce. I ordered the popeye, which is a spinach pizza with garlic sauce and onions. Like the tots, it was good, but could have been better. It comes with onions on top, which I usually love, but didn't like it on this pizza. A caramelized onion would have been a better fit for this meal. The waitstaff was attentive and super sweet. I'd give it another try if I'm in town again. The host and servers were so friendly and amicable and turned on multiple torches outside to keep us warm. Given it was around 40 degrees outside, we were pleasantly surprised how warm it actually got and never felt neglected while being apart from the main dining area. We ordered 4 different beers off the beer list that consisted of everything from stouts, IPAs, dessert beers, and ales. In addition to our drinks, we ordered two delicious appetizers that I highly recommend trying if coming here for the first time. Avocado eggrolls, and crispy artichokes came out piping hot, and were made to perfection. Seriously so good and a perfect pairing with the drinks. For our main course I had the popeye pizza which was like a spinach white pie with tons of different cheeses (gorgonzola, mozzerella). I absolutely loved this place! My friends randomly suggested it and we had such a good time. The selection of beers and ciders they have is different to anywhere else I've been in a really long time. I'm not a beer drinker. They were out of Pinot Noir but the Cabernet was very good. Later two of my friends ended up getting a glass as well. For dinner, I ordered the Roc-a-fella and it was delicious. It was the perfect amount of cheese and spinach artichoke dip with a hint of clams. Highly recommend and I'd definitely order it again. I also tried the frito pie and also very good. My friend loved the baked potato pizza so I don't think there's a bad item on the menu.
