Mixed with chow fun are char siu pork, scallop, shrimp, crab, in oyster sauce, sesame seeds, and bean sprouts. The flavors are vibrant with seafood tones. The large shrimp was tender, not hard or over cooked. The scallops were also very tender and the char sui was flavorful. The sauce had a hint of sweetness, very flavorful, and made this selection very good. Catch of the day - 5/5 Ono was the catch of the day. The fish was cooked to perfection. The fish was flaky and tender. The sauce was very tasty and paired very well with the Ono filet. The veggies were very tasty too. Brunch, delicious and droolworthy lobster bennies with coffee. Simple but luxurious start to the day. Our waitress was excellent, kept the coffee coming, helped us with our Cohn restaurant points to get a $5 discount, and was fun to chat to and very friendly. Service is really wonderful as well - Chelsea took good care of us and was very knowledgeable about the specials and guided us through some of her favorites. We arrived right around sunset, and honestly wished we had come a little earlier to fully take it in. Such a gorgeous setting. The service was amazing. Our server was incredibly kind and kept offering us more bread (which I happily accepted because it was that good). The bread came with chive butter that was so flavorful, and the bread itself was warm and delicious. There was also live music, which made the ambience even better--just an all-around beautiful place to relax and enjoy a meal. Bonus points for free valet, which made parking super easy. For food, we got the macadamia nut crusted mahi mahi, which was really good, slightly on the sweeter side, but still flavorful. The Hawaiian short ribs were a standout for me: super tender, perfectly cooked, and just packed with flavor. We also ordered the panko crusted calamari, which I loved. I truly can't say enough wonderful things about The Plantation House! I called from the mainland to make reservations and arrange a special surprise for my daughter and son-in-law, who were vacationing in Lahaina. They are expecting their first baby, and I wanted to surprise them with a gender reveal while they were in Maui. They were genuinely excited to be part of the surprise, and I loved how enthusiastic they were about making the evening special. The best part was that the happy couple had absolutely no idea what was coming! I was connected with the pastry chef to coordinate the cake, and the restaurant team executed the surprise delivery perfectly. They even got the musician involved and had special theme music playing: "Baby Shark"! It was absolutely perfect. And then they went above and beyond one more time. The restaurant manager recorded the entire surprise and gender reveal and sent the video to me afterward, so I got to experience the moment even though I was thousands of miles away. It was soft on the inside and nicely toasted on the outside. We ordered the lobster ravioli, and braised short rib plate. The lobster ravioli was really good. Whatever sauce they had on there complemented the dish really nicely. The breed short plate was good. The meat was tender and soft and the sauce on it was sweet almost like a teriyaki for dessert. I have been dining here for years, this is my first visit in 7 years! The views are still amazing. The service was impeccable throughout our visit. We had the best table sitting at the window for the three of us. We had a couple of food glitches from the kitchen but they were so gracious and took amazing care of us. The food is pretty good. Lucas reached out to me several times, and we were finally able to connect. Within a few minutes of our conversation, it was clear that he was genuinely concerned that the restaurant had not lived up to its standards or met my expectations. He apologized for my experience and refunded the cost of my meal. My goal was never to receive a free meal or any type of compensation. I simply wanted to share an honest account of my experience. This restaurant serves thousands of guests, and no operation is perfect. What impressed me most was that they took the time to personally reach out to an unsatisfied customer, listen without being defensive, and make things right. That level of customer service speaks to the integrity of The Plantation House and its commitment to ensuring every guest leaves satisfied. To say that we were disappointed is an understatement. I made a reservation at The Plantation House right after I made the reservation to go to Maui. I made it for the date of my husband's birthday. The week before we flew in, I received a phone call saying that they needed to close the restaurant for 2 days to fix something. I do understand that these types of things happen and need to be addressed. We were able to reschedule for a few days later, I mentioned the celebration of my husband's birthday and was told that they would have a grand celebration for him. That didn't happen. When we walked into the restaurant, the maitre'd mentioned that when it was time for dessert, that they would take care of us. We were given a choice of tables and chose one with a magnificent view. We ordered wine and reviewed the menu. Since my husband is a big fan of escargot, he ordered that as a starter. It was very good and the typical service for the dish. I ordered the Kula Farms Greens. We normally split a salad. Although the salad with the papaya seed dressing was very good, it was certainly not big enough for 2 people to split. As an entree, I ordered the Seafood Chow Fun. It was mostly the char siu pork with 2 scallops and 2 shrimp. I did not detect any crab in the dish, although it is in the description of the dish. It was very good and I did enjoy it. My husband ordered the Brown Sugar Togarashi Seared Ahi. He did enjoy this dish. We were asked if we wanted dessert and because we were celebrating, we ordered the sorbet to share. The promises that were made about our trip to the Plantation house were promises unkept. I expected to have a candle or something to indicate that it was a special occasion. I don't understand why the maitre'd said anything about taking care of us at dessert time. The service was very good. The scenery was amazing. The respect for rescheduling our visit and the celebration of a special occasion was severely lacking. Alas, that night's show wasn't spectacular, but the view sure is, regardless. Honestly, who needs a sunset with the natural beaty of the green course and the blue ocean!? Really special. But, the stars of the night were phenomenal service from Amanda, and the food! Casual Fine Dining, an excellent wine list and great cocktails. We had the Tomato Bisque, soup of the day, and the Lobster Ravioli to start. Both were great. For dinner, the daily special Fish Duo (3 oz kampachi and 3 oz butter fish) was crazy good, and the Macadamia Crusted Mahi over coconut rice with a tomato sauce and asparagus was perfect. The Lobster Benedict was another highlight. The bread had a perfect crunch, the lobster was fresh, and the eggs were cooked just right. The potatoes were a bit on the mushy side (I personally prefer them more roasted), but overall the dish was still delicious. The French toast was incredible--fluffy, warm, and sweet, with the syrup served warm so it paired beautifully with each bite. The French dip sandwich was very good, meat tender and dip flavorful. The steak salad came with chimichurri sauce for the meat, which we liked. The meat was tender. Salad fresh. Desert was the chocolate bomb. Great, and that evaluation came from my gf who is a pastry chef and cook. All in all, with alcohol, the bill was seemingly lower than Whalers Village restaurants. Had a family photo shoot at DT Fleming Beach and saw that the plantation house was nearby so I made a reservation for dinner for after our photo shoot. The restaurant is on a beautiful golf course with amazing views. They have complementary valet parking. They have take great food and drink menu. I ordered the local catch of the day, my husband ordered the shrimp scampi, and we got our son the kids chicken tenders, and fries. For drinks, I ordered the Lilikoi Joy and my husband got pain in the coconut. Both really good drinks that were well-made and refreshing. I can't remember what the fish of the day was but it came with lobster risotto, local vegetables, lobster cognac cream. The risotto didn't have the right consistency. It was more like rice with pieces of lobster. The vegetables were cooked well and had a good crunch to them. The fish was also cooked very well and well seasoned. We were able to make a reservation for lunch only 30 min before, but they still had tables for walk ins on a Friday around 115pm. We ordered the Fish N Chips, Herb Grilled Chicken Sandwich and the Fresh Green Salad. For drinks we got a No Pain Coconut Drink and a Majestic Paloma. Food was good but not exceptional for the pricing and the size. Guess you are paying more for the view than the food. Food is nothing out of this world. Drinks were better than the food.
