Not a big fan of the chips.
Elizabeth O.

I came here with a friend and the service was absolutely outstanding! We sat ourselves down wanting to have a drink and seconds later we were greeted by a server. Cesar and Jesus both helped us and they were so delightful. They were extremely nice and attentive to our needs even though it was very busy! I ordered the chicken strips and it was very good. I wasnt a big fan of the potato chips and dip...I think tortilla chips and salsa would be better, but that's ok.The margarita I ordered was extremely sweet. Where was the liquor at? Haha. I loved the glass it came in though. They were huge. But then again, maybe that's why it tasted like mostly margarita mix! I'd highly recommend coming here for a bite when you visit Barona! You won't regret it!

Come here for drinks! Food is good but the drink prices are great! Bottled domestic or craft is $4-5. 21 ounces are between $7-9. Really not bad at all. Good atmosphere and staff are very friendly. Whether you order food or not, they provide some homemade chips (like ruffles only way better) and a dipping sauce that is sooo good.

Asparagus Soup Plaza Grill Lakeside, CA

We had a good time at Plaza Grill. They have sports TV. We had ice tea. I enjoyed a turkey sandwich. My husband had soup and 1/2 sandwich. The soup was asparagus and tasty. He liked the cheese sandwich. They also have cocktails and beer. Staff was nice.

I ventured out from my beloved Sage Cafe and gave this place a visit for dinner... It was a Saturday night and the casino was busy so I expected a wait. We walked up and saw the "Please Seat Yourself" sign and so we did. The only two available seats were at the bar, with a clear view of the fryers. O_o (all I'm saying is I saw bags and bags of frozen something being put in the freezer) Ok, so we were greeted and brought menus, and whoa, they serve the most random mix of meals here. Him ordered two rolls; a shrimp tempura and a Cali roll, both were surprisingly good. I ordered the roasted turkey sandwich with chips. The sandwich itself was a'ight, but the turkey was really good and there was lots of it. I had to ask for my chips halfway through my sammich though. And when our waitress asked another waiter to bring us our chips, he took them to another couple at the bar, booo! When I finally got to try them, I'm almost sorry I did... They were sooo good, and seasoned to perfection. Definitely the highlight of my meal.

Calzone

My boyfriend and I visited this establishment last night. We were quickly greeted with onion dip and waffle chips upon arrival from Jesus. He was not our server, but I wish he had been. He is SO personable and friendly every time we come! It took about 10 minutes for us to get our drink order taken. I think our waiter, Jose, might have been new. He was extremely quiet and took a while to get things moving. However, I dont like to base my review on service-- going to a restaurant is about FOOD after all!! I ordered a calzone and truffle fries. Both of these dishes were FANTASTIC. I hadn't ever had a calzone from downstairs but it was very hot and fresh. 5/5 My boyfriend ordered a reuben, which he said was very good. 5/5 He also ordered a margarita, which is normally good, but tasted like way too much mix and not enough liquor. Unfortunately, this results in it being too sweet. This place gives very hefty portions, which is appreciated. All in all, this place has all the choices you could ever want, no matter what kind of cuisine you're in the mood for. On top of the fact that there is a bar and TV's playing with whatever sports game is going on. Please go and try! Lots of choices! I'll be back.

Clam Chowder bowl.  Great for 2 people!

Plaza Grill is located on the lower level of Barona Casino, just past the buffet. Come in and seat yourself and a server will be right with you with your menus and take your drink orders. Here they serve all American food, as well as sushi. Also, if you're looking to have a few beers/ alcoholic beverages, you can do so here. You cannot bring alcohol drinks upstairs. For this particular visit, Monica helped us. At the time, most of the tables were taken so we sat at the bar instead, right in front of the sushi bar. Monica gave us our menus and took our drink orders, then came back to take our food orders. The service is great here! Monica was very attentive and did check on us to ensure everything was good. Christina was working at the sushi bar and she was great as well! I ordered the Clam Chowder bowl and it's big enough for two people. There are nice nice portions of potato and clams throughout so that every bite is full of goodness. This clam chowder is not as thick as other chowders I've had at other places, but it's not too bad. Overall, Plaza Grill has wonderful employees (just like the rest of Barona Casino). Come check them out!

Been and house chips!

This spot is a little gem. They get 5 starts just for the amazing house ruffle like chips. They are warm and fresh, and come with a tasty dip. Once I need a break from gambling I head down to this spot order a few coronado orange wit and enjoy these delicia chips. It has plenty of space and it's a good spot to hang out and chat with your friends. I been there with a large group and we had a really good time. The staff is fast with the drink orders and super friendly. I've yet to try the food because in all honesty I just there to drink and eat my chips lol!

One of my favorites I will always come back! I enjoyed their homemade potato chips with that wonderful Onion dip sauce love it there are new crab sandwich is very good can't wait to come back

Lots of TV's!

Cesar was so accommodating! It was my husbands birthday and Cesar was extremely attentive and helpful. Couldn't have asked for a nicer server. Full bar and free chips and so bad for you, but so good dip. One of the few places that serves alcohol at barona. A must try next time you visit!

So you mean this entire time I could have been getting a few drinks here while waiting 2 hours for my table at the seasons buffet????? YES! hahahahaa.. I never knew about this place since it is downstairs by the steakhouse, but it is a good spot indeed. It's very casual... you sit yourself and then the waiter/waitress will come with a complimentary popcorn shrimp basket while you make your menu decisions. I myself have never tried the popcorn shrimp since I am not a seafood fan, but I have heard they're good :) The regular food items I also have not tried since every time I have been here is only to wait for my table upstairs.. but the drinks are great! Reasonable prices and fast and friendly service.

The salad dressing was pretty disgusting. I'm not sure if it was "bad" or something but it had a very rancid taste and smell. I even had my sister and mom try it and they said something was off. The salad was actually the whole reason I tried the place so I was a little disappointed. I wish I could have tried the great salad I read so many news about but I will probably not take a chance again. Will be back for the sushi though. Just maybe don't get their salad.

There appeared to be four servers on the floor, yet most of the time they were standing around while only one seemed to be actively attending tables. After being seated, we waited approximately 10 minutes before anyone offered us water. Fortunately, we received menus right away, which allowed us to place our food order at the same time our server finally came to take our drink order. Throughout the meal, our server was largely absent. To make matters worse, the main dish I specifically came to order was forgotten. When I reminded our server, she assured me it would be out shortly. Fifteen minutes later, after my wife and I had already finished our roll, I asked to cancel the missing dish. Once again, I was told it was almost ready. The item I ordered should not have taken nearly an hour to prepare, and it became clear that the order had been forgotten entirely. What made the experience even more frustrating was that the restaurant remained slow the entire evening, with several servers standing around and no obvious reason for the long waits for drinks and service. The food itself was great, but the poor service significantly detracted from the overall experience. Very disappointing.

Since Korean food options are scarce in the Poway area, I visited with equal parts curiosity and hope. Tucked away in an industrial corner near Costco in Poway, this spot operates alongside a poke restaurant -- separate, yet sharing the same space. Because the menu is impressively long and diverse, I highly recommend checking it online before visiting. Despite the extensive menu, the restaurant itself is simple, casual, clean, and surprisingly spacious. It reminded me a lot of a Korean food court -- relaxed, practical, and full of variety. The menu reflects that same food-court spirit, offering many different dishes as if several vendors were gathered under one roof. We wanted to try a range of items, so we ordered kimbap, tteok-mandu-guk (rice cake dumpling soup), spicy shrimp sauté, bulgogi, and tonkatsu. All dishes were served in to-go style containers, which honestly matched the casual atmosphere quite well. The tteok-mandu-guk was especially comforting and flavorful. The spicy shrimp dish had a generous portion, and the sauce carried a pleasant level of heat without being overwhelming. The bulgogi was tender with well-balanced seasoning. The kimbap tasted good, though it felt slightly cold, and the pieces were quite large -- a bit difficult to eat comfortably. The tonkatsu was ordered for my son, and he enjoyed both the flavor and the generous portion. Overall, the food had a warm, homemade feel that I really appreciated. With such a large menu, this is definitely a place worth revisiting multiple times just to explore more dishes. The owner was incredibly kind and welcoming, adding an extra layer of warmth to the experience. Flavor, portion size, and service were all strong, and the prices are consistent with typical San Diego dining -- nothing surprising there. The location is convenient enough that whenever I'm craving Korean comfort food in Poway, this will be an easy choice. I'm already thinking about what to try next. Highly recommended for anyone who enjoys Korean food -- especially if you love discovering low-key neighborhood gems.

The New England Clam Chowder was creamy and the perfect start to the meal. The biscuit was good too, however it would have been better had it been served hot. The oysters rockefeller were also creamy, savory, and very tasty. It's a little weird how they serve it on a tray built for 6 but they only give 4. The Smoked Cod Toast I'd have to say was the most disappointing dish of the meal. It's basically an eggs benedict with fish on top. However I didn't get any smoky/fish taste and so the hollaindaise sauce overpowered the whole dish. The Rockfish Ceviche was very fresh and light. It goes very well with the basic saltine crackers. But the best dish of the night was definitely the Charred Octopus. So much flavor from the sauce and the olive tapenade, this is a must get. For dessert we got the banana pudding which was served tableside. They come out with a huge container and scoop it in front of you. While very good, I do wish it was a bit colder. Overall it was a great and fun meal that you should check out!

Because of this I've never been able to share the gloriousness that is a full seafood boil, especially a good one like Pier 88. The headless peel n' eat shrimp and crawfish, the true backbone of any decent boil, were plump and delicious. I felt kind of giddy every time I would finish one and saw how many were left. The lobster tail was a good change-of-pace and the king crab legs, admittedly not my favorite item, still managed to satisfy. I also like how they threw in so much potatoes and sausage into the mix. It was definitely super generous at what other places consider an afterthought. I thought the service was alright. They seemed to have forgotten one of my party's margaritas but that could have been more a slow bartender than an inept server. I also never got a prompt to refill my soda, which is a little more concerning. The ambiance was pretty good. There were plenty of tables and booths, and everything was spaced appropriately. You definitely don't feel like you're on top of the tables around you. They also had plenty of TV's as the World Cup was easy to watch along with. I could be happy here any time I get the craving for some shrimp and crawfish. And as long as the servers were more diligent about refills. One time I'll figure out how to get Miss Scotch herself to one of these things, dirty hands be damned. I'd say getting your hands in the muck and mire of delicious foods is half the fun. And with places like Pier 88 out there, you could be having a fun time and a full belly every day of the week.
