Good cha chan tang for baked rice and spaghetti dishes. Clean and spacious location with ample parking. Most tables are 2s and there are a few booths for 4s. Service is friendly. Tea and coffee comes with entrees for lunch, and are 50% off for dinner.

Solid cha chaan tang (Hong Kong cafe). The restaurant and menus are so clean and well maintained. Service was also very attentive for an Asian restaurant, they insisted to serving me water when I tried to get some from the station. The food here is also solid, especially the casserole type dishes and fried rice. We got the seafood in cream sauce with cheese and noodles, Malaysia laksa noodles, Portuguese chicken with cheese, fried rice, French toast, regular toast with condensed milk, and pineapple bun with butter. During lunch hours, your choice of drink is included. We got lemon water and HK milk tea. Portions are generous! My only critique is the French toast and pineapple bun was not crunchy enough. Highly recommend this spot for casual and affordable meals, casseroles can be shared for two people if you don't eat too much.

In July, I was looking to fetch takeout for dinner. I did a quick search on my Ritual app and found The Point Eatery. It offers Hong Kong-style comfort dishes. I have a few go-to meals that I like from such eateries. I felt like baked bolognese over spaghetti and ordered it. I also saw grape soda on the menu and had to give it a try. When I see a carbonated drink on the menu that intrigues me, I must order it. The estimated time to pick up my order was in fifteen minutes. It was perfect for me to casually drive over to this eatery. It's located in a plaza where I have frequented a bunch of times. McDonald's with a drive-thru between buildings is the main anchor. I have also been to Mamma's Pizza. I had no problem finding a parking spot. It can get a bit busy, but I have yet to not find any parking here. I walked in and headed to the counter. I let the man know that I had a Ritual order. He found it and handed it over. I thanked him and headed out the door to my car. I then drove home to have dinner. My favourite baked bolognese is at Taoyuan Neverland. I now have another favourite place here. This eatery's version of baked bolognese has carrots and celery. They work well with the bolognese sauce and cheese. The pasta was perfectly cooked. I liked the beef. It all worked so well. The grape soda was cool as bubble tea. I got coconut jelly. The sugar level is fixed. It was sweet, but not disgustingly sugary. I enjoyed it, although there wasn't much carbonation left by the time I got home with it. I tried ordering again here a couple of weekends ago. The wait time was absurd at forty minutes. I'll try again soon and hope that the demand isn't that crazy. I like the food here and look forward to trying more items off the menu. (331)

This is a Hong Kong style restaurant and found it to be quite busy, which impacted the overall experience. The service was not particularly good, likely due to the high volume of customers. The food and prices were average--neither particularly good nor bad. For lunch, it would be free if you order a hot drink. The portion size is big but you need to pay for a container. The mediocre service and unremarkable food. There are other options out there that provide a better dining experience.

This is a HK cafe, we came in week day night and it is not very busy, got seated immediately. The waitress is very friendly and can speak good mandarin. Foods are served very fast, ordered: 1. Fried chicken leg with fries 5/5 2. Pork chop on pasta with cheese and tomato sauce 5/5 3. Hainan chicken with rice 4/5 4. Guilin rice noodles with pork mince soup 3/5 Portion Size is generous too, would recommend

Very good, always satisfied. Service is good. Everything tasted good. These are three of favorite dishes.

Chicken skin super crispy

Got to try this new place for the first time. It's kinda like dickens that kinda westernized hk style cafe. The meal doesn't come with soup/bread but it does come with a drink ($2 more for cold drink). The meals are mostly in the $13-15, or even more depending on the ingredient. We ordered a "special" which is chicken spaghetti with mushroom sauce and a Portuguese styled chicken rice. The chicken spaghetti was nice, the chicken skin is so crispy I have never experienced such crispiness in a hk style cafe before. The mushroom sauce is more dense than campbell soup. Very saucy, enough to cover all the pasta. Overall it's a dish that we would order again on our next visit. The Portuguese chicken rice was also pretty good. Very saucy. It's fried rice. I would said definitely I'll visit again. - It's clean - Price reasonable (maybe a tiny bit expensive compared to some other hk cafe) but portion is generous (3 people can order 2 meals) - Staff is friendly and nice

Baked Ox-Tongue Rice in Black Pepper Sauce with Cheese

The Point Eatery is one of Richmond Hill's newest Hong Kong style diners (cha cha teengs) that offers the classic breakfast, baked rice/spaghetti, and fried rice/noodle dishes. If you're looking a classic dish that best represents the essence of HK diner food, I do suggest the Baked Ox-Tongue Rice in Black Pepper Sauce with Cheese. The black pepper sauce is a great counteract to the after taste you may get for ox tongue, but it's a great flavour and texture combination to enjoy with rice. The portion sizes are quite generous, hence the small increase in price compared to other local spots. Rest assured, it's well worth the price!

Came here for dinner tonight with my boyfriend. We were promptly checked for vaccination receipts and quickly seated after! We ordered the salmon teriyaki rice and baked pork chop spaghetti. Both meals were ok it didn't wow me at all in anyway. The teriyaki sauce was kind of subtle that I didn't really taste much flavour which made my salmon kinda tasteless. My bfs baked pork chop was better and more flavourful but again, it was just ok. I think I liked other hk cafe over this one. Service was really good! The auntie was super nice and friendly and quickly brought us our food and took our order.

Bake Ms Bolognese and HK style cold tea
Kerry L.

First time trying out this HK Style cafe in Richmond Hill on a Saturday afternoon for lunch. The restaurant is clean and the service is good. They checked our vaccination records and seated us. They got busy as time went on and they had a lot of take out . We ordered the HK style cold tea, beef brisket in noodle soup. baked bolognese with cheese & chicken steak with cream sauce on spaghetti. The food was piping hot which is the way we like it. The flavour and taste is good and the portion is decent size. I would recommend this place and come back to try some other dishes.

3.5 Star | HK Cafe | Combos | Afternoon Tea | Dinner This review is really a 3.5 star rating. Came here for dinner on a Tuesday night. The restaurant is clean and spacious an they did check for proof of double vaccination. 2 single stall washrooms. They do not use QR code menu ordering, still on paper menus. The menus were clear and simple. For combos you can choose to get a discounted drink or not. (Ie. Hot drink + $1, cold drink +$2) ** Food ** - Chef Special E. Baked Seafood Spaghetti in Squid Ink Sauce with Cheese The pasta was too soft for my liking (not al dante) The sauce was tasteless (only the green pepper tasted decently good) There were too many onion pieces There wasn't much seafood taste to it The cheese was good though I didn't even pack the left over pasta to go (which I always do) I wouldn't order it again - Rice 33. Boneless Chicken Leg in Signature Sand Ginger Sauce It was not boneless (they tried) The flavour and texture was good The portion was good I would prefer the pieces to be cut a bit smaller It was okay, would order again ** Service ** It was good. Overall I'll come back to try other dishes and afternoon tea again to be fair. But this place definitely didn't wow me.

Happy hour chicken wings with fries
Philip L.

HK-style café with good menu selections. Ordered the following from their afternoon tea special: stir-fried spaghetti, chicken wings with fries, and the Cantonese-style lo-mein with minced pork and chili sauce. It's alright with the happy hour price and portion. No complaints while nothing spectacular.

Baked Chicken Fillet in Spinach Cream Sauce with Cheese
Hoi Tung L.

If you miss HK food, this restaurant can heal your home sick. Classic HK style cafe with various menu selection. I ordered the Cheese Baked chicken with Fried Rice, I was surprised that the fried rice is really good and looks golden yellow. The chicken is really juicy, but the cheese is a little bit salty. My friend Ordered Yuenyeung which is one of the classic HK style drink. Overall, the waiters are friendly and I feel like home cze they speak in Cantonese and it's clean.

The space itself is bright, cozy, and modern. It's great for a casual brunch. The menu focuses on creative takes on classic brunch dishes, with most plates around $18-$25 and drinks about $6-$9. We tried the pork sausage shakshouka, pork jowl eggs benny, and a strawberry matcha latte. The drink was a standout--refreshing, nicely layered, and not overly sweet. The dishes themselves had good flavors and promising concepts. Unfortunately, the experience started off rough. Despite having a reservation, we waited over 30 minutes for a table during the busy Saturday brunch rush, and parking around the plaza was difficult. When the food arrived, the eggs in both the eggs benny and the shakshouka were overcooked, which was disappointing since runny yolks are key to both dishes. Overall, Corner Cafe has a nice vibe and an interesting brunch menu, but the long wait, tough parking, and inconsistent execution made the experience fall short this time.

The chicken fettucine with spinach was also very tasty. The portions are comparable for a GTA uptown location. Will definitely revisit to try the rest of the menu.

But the egg was a bit overcooked, so not as runny as an authentic omurice. The croquette was very runny and a little too sweet. The Hojicha Latte was perfect though! Not too milky and had a subtle sweetness. Probably should have ordered one of their Soufflé Pancakes, but we were already full from our meal. I recently had a Yelp in-person experience at Minido. I got a ticket for free child admission. Since I don't have a child, I gave it to a friend who has a daughter. This review is a combination of my research to get them to enjoy their day here, and their experiences. The Yelp event was held at Minido Kids Cafe. The entrance is to the right of Bun Appetit, which is around the corner from Kinton Ramen. I found parking and backed into a spot. I went in and took the elevator up to the second floor. As an adult, I liked the space at Minido. It was exceptionally clean and spacious. You do need to remove your footwear before you go crazy exploring the area. There's space for you to find a cubby to store your footwear, and sit down to take them off or put them on before you leave. I used the washroom, which was to the left of the ball pit. It was extremely clean and bright. Minido requires that you make a reservation. Online is probably easier. It's what my friend did and didn't experience any issues. This place is only open Monday and Friday, and weekends and holidays. It's open from 10 am till 8 pm. Each child can get two hours of play for $25. Each additional hour requires coughing up $10. If you think that you child won't want to leave for hours, you can get an all-day admission for $39. On weekends and holidays, the admission fee is $35 for three hours. Adult admission is $25 per person. However, if you make a minimum purchase of $25 in food and drinks per adult, the admission fee gets waived off. Pretty good! The adult admission fee includes a complimentary speciality drink from the menu. My friend ordered food here, so she didn't get a complimentary special drink. It's only included with an adult admission. When my friend arrived with her daughter, a hostess unlocked the door and greeted them. They entered the cafe and the door was locked. It's good in case kids are roaming around and leave without truly knowing that they did. This cafe promotes play, motor skill development, communication, and more. My friend's daughter had a fun time playing. The place has Minido Market, a play area in which you can sell grocery items, store fake foods in the fridge, run the dishwasher, and more. She loved it. There's a ball pit that is a fun course. She went through tube tunnels, went down a twisty slide, and ended up in the ball pit. She made a friend during her time here, which my friend was thrilled about! They had a mom-daughter lunch afterwards. She ordered food at the Minido Cafe, which has a menu for both adults and children. My friend got the spicy pancetta udon. She enjoyed it. She said that the spice factor wasn't extreme. Her dish had bacon bits and pancetta that provided protein. She really loved how chewy the udon was. Nice! She also got an iced latte. She thoroughly enjoyed it and the caffeine kick that she needed! Her daughter settled for mac and cheese. She's got my tastebuds. The mac and cheese came with veggies and fruit. She ate it all up. Impressive! I don't know what she drank. I forgot to ask. They came here at 10 am and her daughter played for a couple of hours. They ate just after noon. She said that it wasn't all that busy on a Friday. I'm guessing that most folks come here after school, so I'd imaging the rush happens after 3 pm on weekdays. My friend said that it was a nice change of pace and enjoyed taking a breather as her kid played. She was thankful for free admission for her daughter. She loved the leisurely lunch that they had. The dish comes with a thick flat super chewy ribbon noodle. It doesn't look like a big portion, but the noodles never seem to end! We particularly loved the aromatic garlicy spicy oil, which was full of umami and slightly sweet. It coated the noodles perfectly without making it seem like a noodle soup. The spice doesn't hit you at first, but sure enough it comes back with a vengeance. Be cautious if you decide to up the spice levels! It comes with quite a bit of seafood - scallops, baby abalone and crawfish tails. We've never really had crawfish tails in Chinese cuisine, so this was quite interesting. Make sure to suck on the tail before you de-shell to really get all the umami, and then dip the tail back into the spicy oil for a burst of flavour. Surprisingly, the chewy texture of the seafood complemented the noodles really well. Customer service here is impeccable. We saw nearby tables with phone holders, which we suspect you can request if you want to eat and watch your videos in peace. The staff also hand out individually packaged plastic bibs and gloves to avoid the oil from slashing onto your clothes and will top up your napkin supply without asking.
