I really liked this place. We ate here for lunch today and everything was great. Nice atmosphere - 100 year old building with really tall ceilings, exposed brick walls and an awesome long bar. They have about 5-6 big screen tv's, so obviously a great place to watch a game. They also have a cozy seating area with a couple of nice leather sofas, in addition to the many tables. I got a cheeseburger and the BF got the Southwest Chicken Salad and both were very good. The meat in my burger was high grade and cooked perfectly. And my side order of fries were A M A Z I N G! I got a choice of plain fries, parmesan or blue cheese. I got the blue cheese, and they were perfect. Lightly sprinkled with a blue cheese salt and they also came with a blue cheese dressing for dipping. So freaking good. Service was also really good. It looked like there were only two people working and there were only a few people at tables when we arrived, but it got busy at the end of our meal, so we were pretty lucky with the quick service we had. Overall a great experience and I'd highly recommend this place if you're looking for lunch in Central Point. read more

We went to The Point in CP today and were extremely disappointed! When we arrived, there was one couple in the room at a table. So it's not like they were busy. We sat down and our server took our drink order and left. Ten minutes later, another couple came in and sat down. The server brought my drink and took our food order. And we waited and waited some more. The couple who came in after us got their food and were finishing when our order showed up. "Sorry about the wait," was all we got. My wife ordered the patty melt and I got the Blue Burger. Her sweet potato fries were cold and her hamburger was red almost raw center. The reason I gave two stars, my order was good. My wife told the server about the problem and received a "Ooh, that IS red. Sorry about that." No effort was made to adjust the check, just a lackadaisical apology. On Sunday March 7 we joined you at your restaurant to sit inside. We had a party of 8 split into two tables with two separate checks. At this time you are not allowed to have more then 8 people. Yet each check was added 18% gratuity? I just so upsets because we froze multiple times outside in your patio during winter to support you, we ordered multiple times for take out when you could not open fully. We made sure to support our community small businesses. I gave large CASH tips EVERY time to support your employees. But this is how we are repaid? Demanding of a tip? Well we may be only one family in central point, but this one family will no longer support you. read more

Just moved into the area July 1 and have been to the points for lunch almost every day for the first two weeks and we usually sit at the bar or grab takeout. We thought we had found a great brewpub and always had excellent service. My girlfriend went to do a pick up order and they shorted her $20 in change And this was the first time that the food was terrible we are to 2 Philly cheesesteak with double meat no green peppers and the sandwich came with two thin slices of chopped up meat which isn't even the regular portion and we were charged five dollars extra per sandwich for asking for a double meat the sea salt and parsley fries we're good as usual but a very small portion. (like 6 or 7 fries per plate. I called the restaurant and did not get anywhere with the wait staff about the $20 and they asked me for if I had a receipt which was sort of insulting since they were unable to provide us with one we gave them $100 bill and each sandwich was $20 so that's 40 and we gave them a $10 tip so that's $50.00... we received $30 in change and when we called to alert them that we were short changed we got the same guy who rang us up and he denied it. I was pretty upset about that we waited a week and we're hungry and thought maybe it was just a fluke we wanted to go back because the girl bartenders always take really good care of us our plates are always good portions and the food is always hot and the fries are crisp when we sit at the bar in our helps by the women bartenders. last night my friend from out of town came in and we decided to go to the point to eat I ordered my usual Philly cheesesteak with double meat no green peppers and sea salt and parsley fries, not a hard order to do when I receive the sandwich it was all bread no meats the fries were soggy and The wait staff that helped our table saw the sandwich and we're embarrassed and said that they had three other complaints that night on French dips and Philly cheese steaks. I won't be back we've been stolen from we've been overcharged for food we didn't get and there was literally in 30 or 40 flies out back landing on our food the entire time and everyone else's. Buy some fly zapper's the flies landed on my food so much that I refused to eat it they discounted the food wasn't what I wanted and the waiter that helped me really tried to make things right so I tipped him $20 because he really worked his tail off for us and we are not complicated customers we just will never come back I've worked in Restaurant often on for several years and usually when something like this is going on like the portions being small that somebody in the front house is stealing from the chill and conceal it since food cost is the only way you can tell if your employees are stealing from you They just give half portion sizes so it's not to raise any suspicion of theft whoever owns this place needs to be there and watch his crew I think it's the same to people I think the cook and the front house guy who is always at the tail when we go in most likely responsible. I hope I'm wrong because this was a fantastic place from July 1 to July 19 it has been hellish ever cents and the flies out back while sitting outside it's just disgusting and they make their way inside as well. We've been meaning to visit The Point for sometime now. We first heard about them when we went to the Cheese and Wine Festival and sampled their macaroni. It was fricken delicious! As we were driving through Central Point and noticed their sign, we decided to try them for dinner. We walked into the bar side of the pub and grill and sat ourselves. There was only one bartender and several tables were full. We expected to have to wait a bit. This isn't an in and out type of place. We ordered our drinks, and when they arrived we ordered our food. I do have to say that my Reuben was probably one of the best I've had. The most common problem with Reuben's is that the bottom bread becomes soggy on the second half of the sandwich due to the condensation from the hot sandwich on a flat plate. The Point had the perfect solution, a wire basket! This allowed the heat to escape through the bottom of the basket, allowing the second half to remain crunchy as a Reuben should be! That impressed me, as many (and I mean probably at least ten a year) of the Reuben's I eat from restaurants are ALWAYS soggy by the time I get to the second half. The bartender was very friendly and was good at her job, even though she was doing most of the ordering, bar tending, table deliveries, and bussing herself. The only complaints I have include perhaps just a slight bit too much minced garlic on my garlic fries, and the fact that there was one person working the entire bar, including food and bussing. There were other employees helping here and there, but the service could have been slightly faster if the other employees did more of the table deliveries. read more

I went here for a quick lunch. First time going, I ordered the chicken club, it has turkey lunch meat on it which made it taste weird. The chicken breast was pre frozen, I could tell, because it tasted like it. It came with either fries,side salad or sweet potato fries which I got. They were ok. The peach lemonade was so sweet I could not drink it. Overall it's a bar environment, so if your wanting a drink this is your place. Never again. Generally the food was OK, the beer battered Cod was not Cod, my table guesses were snapper to Tilapia. When asked the waiter got offended, the manager came out but didn't know why, I never asked for him I simply said if the menu says Cod they should serve Cod. His response was 1000% Cod. Never a concern for why we felt that way. We had ordered a second beer, we tried to see if they spat in it. Pretty much ruined the entire meal for everyone. I think this place is worth a 3.5 star. Food was good enough but I think the customer service was lacking a little bit. We walked in because our first choice's kitchen was closed for the day and they recommend The Point. It was pretty dead inside, no signage indicating whether it's a seat yourself kind of place and no staff in sight. The few times we did see staff, no one paid any mind to us even though we were right next to the little podium area by the door. Finally someone told us to seat ourselves and they'd bring a menu by. Another 5ish minutes before we see a single staff member in sight even though menus were literally right next to where we had been standing when a server had walked by us. Get the menus and drinks, order an appetizer, receive the appetizer, still no silverware or napkins anywhere in sight. Flag down a server and ask for silverware, he runs off to get us some (right back by the door where we started). As he's about to grab some, a huge group walks in with tons of kids requesting stamps or something for their holiday parade activity. He stops what he's doing and takes the time to stamp every single kid's paper before taking 5 seconds to finish bringing us some silverware for the food we've had sitting on our table staring back at us for the last 10 minutes. Overall the food wasn't bad and I might consider coming back every so often but considering the place really was pretty dead (it was not a high traffic meal time, maybe 2pm? and no one on the streets out front either), perhaps the staff needs some training (or retraining) on how to work smarter, not harder. The whole time we were there they were running around like chickens with their heads cut off and there was no discernible reason for any of that level of work or confusion with literally maybe 4-6 tables full and at least 3 waitstaff on hand, none of whom I really ever saw at a table unless they were taking an order or delivering an order. read more

I've been going here since 2017, and while it used to be my favorite Central Point restaurant, I'm shocked by how terrible my service was tonight. The food here is good, not great. It's never been great, but it's about as good as it gets in Central Point. And the service has varied tremendously over many visits. But tonight was beyond bad, and I won't return to this location. I had chilly reception at the South Medford location before as well, but nothing like tonight, when I was treated as if nobody cared whether I was there or not. It's not like there was some unusual issue that affected all of the staff, I came in at 8pm on a Friday to order something to go and have a drink while I waited. They weren't busy, the waitress I spoke with upon entering was wiping down menus for maybe 10 minutes while I waited for a glass of water. I enjoy the atmosphere and the bar area of The Point very much. The service is usually on "Point", especially if Rebecca is behind the bar. I ordered a Philly Cheesesteak, no peppers, with a side salad, instead of fries, with blue cheese. The sandwich had plenty of peppers on it. I preceded to remove them because of the distress bell peppers cause me. One half of the sandwich had very little steak. The other half had the lions share. Other than the peppers being on there, they could have at least taken the time to evenly distribute the steak. The steak was VERY well cooked and sliced well so it was tender and tasty. If a sandwich is five fingers tall this one had one finger of steak, onions, mushrooms and cheese. The sandwich was easily 85% bread. Good bread, but not bread worth the asking price. A cheesesteak sandwich advertised with TWO kinds of cheese, in my humble opinion, should have cheese string between your bite and the sandwich in your hand. I was hard pressed to even taste the cheese. In fact if I didn't remake the sandwich I might not have known there was even cheese on it. Mushrooms as inexpensive as they are were also practically non-exsistant. the salad was very nice. Blue cheese dressing could have been better considering there is a World award winning blue cheese maker literally around the corner. This will be my last visit to the Point Pub & Grill, in Central Point. However they have a new location in South Medford that has been consistantly excellent in both food & service. I am not sure why two locations can be so different, might just be different managers. On my previous trips to the Central Point Grill, you have to really wait and fight to get service, they have one server for both the bar and the restaurant floor until 5:00 PM, I do believe. Anyway, on this last trip, went for some brews and a bite to eat. We sat at a table, did not wait too long for our beer order, had beers in front of us in maybe 10 Minutes. I finished my beer, waied and waited, girl friend went to the bar to order another. Berer came and I ordered a regular chesses burger, whch in my opinion was fine. My girl friend ordered their Mac Daddy burger, she asked for the burger to be Medum Rare with the Mac & chesse on the side. When the Mac Daddy arrived, it was missing not only the Mac & Chesse, but plain, no onions or other dressing that the menu stated came with the "Burger". My girl friend flagged down the bartender/waitress and told her the burger was extremely over cooked and of the items missing. 10 minutes later the plate is returned to the table, same over cooked burger (Now Cold) and a ketchup sized container of cold mack & cheese. A few onions were spattered on the bun, but just not what she expected. Girl friend decided to suck it up and eat what she could. Anyway, about that time, another woman that had just arrived (manager), comes by and asks about my girl friends Mac Daddy, she told her what she experienced with the food. The manager rudely grabbed her plate while she was eating without asking, a few moments later she slaps a bill on the table, tells us she took the Mac Daddy of the bill. I guess it was time to leave, would have been nice if the manager had asked, if we were done or if we wanted something else :( read more

My wife loves there balsamic dressing so much I often go in just to buy side orders of it to put on salads in her lunch for work all week. First off, let me say that I've always had good food and good service at The Point. LOVE the patio when the weather is nice. We sat at the bar like we usually do. We sat there for a good while before the bartender even asked us what we wanted to drink. We were presented with a variety of menus. She finally came back with our drinks but didn't ask us what we wanted to order to eat. When the bartender finally came up behind us to take our order I pointed to the Happy Hour menu and said I wanted the pulled pork chimichangas with sour cream and guacamole on the side. The menu states that chips and salsa comes with the order. My husband ordered the chicken tacos off of the Happy Hour menu. After quite some time a different server came up behind us with our meals. I looked at my plate and there was rice, beans, and sour cream on the side with 4 chimichangas. Hey, I was hungry so I took one bite and realized that they weren't pulled pork chimichangas and I sure didn't want rice and beans and there was no salsa or chips. Long story short, after telling the bartender that my order was wrong she said that I ordered the chicken chimichangas that were on the other side of the menu and I wasn't about to argue with her because I know what I ordered and even pointed to it when she was taking our order and it wasn't what was brought. She and another server were behind the bar discussing the situation and the other server explained the difference of what I ordered and what was brought and the bartender said she'd only charge me for what I ordered instead of the full meal that was brought. Really? I've been in enough restaurants and I'd only had one bite of a chimichanga and she should have either comped my meal or offered to take it back and remove it from our bill but she only offered to charge me what I ordered instead of the full meal. I had to ask for napkins and silverware. I'm not a picky person but I do expect to get what I order and I didn't. She also broke a glass in the refrigerator they keep their glasses in to stay cold and maybe that explains the lack of service but she did that AFTER she took our order. I had the Miso Salmon and was disappointed. Rarely do I order Salmon at a restaurant because it is almost always overcooked. This was as well. Overall, I give the food a C-. The server forgot my iced tea and basically that we existed. As dinner with my clients wound down they closed down the dining area (putting chairs up in the tables) and still had the lounge area serving drinks. This explains the server being Johnny on the spot to put up chairs and then taking forever to take care of the bill because he was bellied up to the bar before we had even walked out. Apparently he just couldn't wait to hit the sauce long enough to close out our meal. I won't return. I am usually pretty positive and generous with yelp reviews. I'm a regular at The Point and love the small town, neighborhood atmosphere. I was surprised to see it only has 3 and a half stars, it definitely deserves a better ranking. The servers are friendly, attentive and get to know their customers. I like to sit in the bar due to the casual, fun atmosphere. They have a lot of great comfort food, burgers, pizza and a great mac and cheese, and of course, great service. Becky, the bar manager and bartender, is the best. I barely get in the door and she has my cosmo and my brother's, Coors Lite already poured. She knows her customers by name and works harder than any manager I have ever known. The food is very good and they have specials each week for variety. The head chef has a lot of creativity and talent. My favorites are the fish tacos with avocado and the gluten free pizzas. My brother always orders the Mac Daddy Patty Melt. For a small town Central Point local's spot, it is the best place to go. read more

The Point pivoted to pickup and take out and came through it and returned to normal business while some others did not. The employees hustle to keep up with what an efficient operation should be. Very good sandwich and salad choices at lunch. We tried a burger and a big chicken salad. The burger and fries were the standout here. Very good. The salad was also nice. This is a very old brick building with some real history to it. They have managed to update the place just right, without losing the old time feel of the place. A good selection of TVs with football. I will give them 2 stars because the style/atmosphere was really nice & the food was decent. We first walked in and it took about 5 minutes to be acknowledged, we knew what beers we wanted but asked if we could get food to go. She asked for our IDs and left while we got them out. It took another 10 minutes for her to come back and she asked for IDs again even though they were sitting out on the counter. She got our beers and took our order. The food took about 15-20 minutes which was fine. I ordered a second beer towards the end of the meal and it took her 10 minutes to get it, that was at 5:45. We couldn't get her attention the rest of the night so we finally stopped the bar back in his tracks at 6:40 to get the bill. 55 minutes without checking on a customer is so ridiculous not to mention she didn't seem like she enjoyed her job. Ordered a chimichanga....instead of shredded beef, it was stuffed with the same beef they use for their Philly cheesesteak sandwiches...and to add further insult to injury, the tortilla itself was limp and soggy. The pico de gallo was totally lackluster to boot. The accompanying rice and beans were also not tasty or memorable. This place has so much potential...beautiful old brick building with a charming outdoor patio. But the menu is disjointed and amateurish in content, and the food is soooo disappointing. Really just good for dropping by and having a beer outside, then moving on to a better eatery. The servers are nice enough, but generally not very efficient or attentive.
