I've always admired how CPP has their own food truck on campus. It just makes getting lunch a lot more convenient and accessible. If I don't have time to stop by the food court, I would usually head to the Trolley to pick up a quick snack. They offer sliders, quesadillas, fries, tacos and as well as few breakfast options. But what I love the most here are their tacos! Their BBQ pork sliders are my go to meal. I can't seem to recall the exact price but I believe it was under $1.75 a taco. It's a fairly good portion for a decent price. The pork is tossed in a sweet bbq sauce and placed onto mini flour tortillas. After that, coleslaw is added on top of the pork which is topped off with a orange creamy sauce and green onions. It's the right balance of sweet and savory all in one tacos. The coleslaw balances out the richness of the pork. It honestly the best snack on the go. Great pit stop to refuel yourself if you're ever in a rush. Just make sure to head there before everyone gets out of class. The line can get long sometimes. read more

Aside from the high prices, Poly Trolley offers great food made to order. As someone who doesn't eat meat, I was delighted to find options for me to eat. I've eaten at the truck several times and tend to get either the avocado tempura tacos, Soyrizo poly bowl, or california avocado burrito. The tacos are made really well and I love the contrasting crispy-creamy texture the tempura battered avocados have. The poly bowl reminds me of elotes because of the dressing and cheese they spread over the fries, and once again, the avocado adds a nice creaminess to offset the crispness of the french fries. Finally, burrito offers a ton of flavor with the tots as well as the slaw, but the price can be a little off-putting at times - it costs $8.50 for the thing! The service is okay too; kind of slow, but hospitable and kind. Overall, I enjoy dropping by between classes and really enjoy the food here, go give the joint a try when you can! ...and make sure you have a nice beefy wallet while you're at it ;) read more

This is probably the most exciting thing to happen to CPP in quite sometime... the amount of times I have been hungry in the library and resorted to Subway is not okay. Although I am not a student at CPP, I am here enough to know that food around the campus/on campus sucks. I say that in the nicest way because most college campuses don't have the best options. My friends told me about the truck and when I went to look it up online I found out that it used to be in service in the 80's, which is really freaking cool (there are things I get excited about). I ordered the Garlic Truffle Chips, BBQ pork slider, BBQ pork taco, and a Angus Beef Slider. I got all of this plus a bottle of water all for $9 and some change... now that is a deal. For their opening menu, the food I ordered was average. The beef slider didn't have much flavor in the patty making it an ordinary american style burger, bo-ring! I loved the BBQ pork taco/slider, in fact they saved this review. The tangyness of the pork combined with the sweetness of the Hawaiian bread roll worked so well together. Their Sriracha Aioli (a.k.a spicy mayo) saved the chips for me. I don't understand why they don't make fries, it would pair so well with their menu AND not to mention the flavors that they claim the chips had would probably taste better on fries (sea salt and garlic truffle, come on now). Fries do take long to make and the Poly Trolley is quick and easy when it comes to service so maybe that's another reason why they chose not to go in that direction. One suggestion would be to expand their drink menu, I personally had no problem considering I got a bottle of water, but a couple of customers in front of me were disappointed to find such limiting options (they only had mini bottles of certain drinks and some they just didn't have in stock even though they were displayed) so maybe that is something they might want to fix. I can't wait to try their fall menu, especially if it changes, and I am sure it will be a success with students! I am not looking forward to the long lines when school re-opens though, yikes. read more

wanted to try this place... truffle oil chips, angus slider, bbq pork taco. bbq pork taco... very... eh. did not like it very much. angus slider. was very noms. a small hunk of anugs beef between king's hawaiian rolls, with onions, thousand island/mayo? cheese. was good. truffle oil chips. pretty good. decently sized portion. not really worth the $3.25 angus sliders... kinda eh. $2 each? buy three and you save like. a quarter. so. i mean. maybe lol.... and chips... maybe next time i'll stick to the sea salt chips... not really worth $1 to add some oil that dosn't make that big of a difference. wait time was minimal, servers were friendly. not sure what else there is to say read more

My favorite spot to grab a bite on campus! You can't go wrong with any pick off the menu. Buffalo wings are good size and worth the price for the combo. As in being a broke, starving college isn't bad enough, the school's food truck makes it worse by feeding off our hard-earned money. I'm just glad that I'm graduating in 2 weeks and that I won't have to deal with the poor food choices offered at CPP anymore. I gave the Polley Trolley a shot today because I didn't have time to pack lunch and I was starving. I ordered the $2.50 chicken slider and $3.50 seasoned fries. The slider was so small that I finished it in 2 bites and it was poorly made that it fell apart as I picked it up. Yes, they do describe that it comes in a Hawaiian roll; however, $2.50 for something so small and unfulfilling like that it's like a slap on the face to us broke college students. The seasoned fries were SO salty that I had to force myself to finish them because I don't like throwing food away and it was my only attempt of making the most out of this unpleasant, joke of a meal. Lastly, the workers could receive customer service lessons. I worked in retail for 4 years so I know that no matter how crappy your day is or how hectic it gets, you still need to be courteous and friendly instead of bitchy and annoyed. 3.5 stars Cal Poly Pomona's new food truck! Simple menu, on par pricing (w/ college campus), and good food. We didn't get to try their $3 breakfast burrito (breakfast ends at 10:30a) but we did get to try their sliders, tacos ($1.75 each or $5 for 3), and "Greek Style" potato chips (~$4). They also had a coffee menu, pastries, snacks, and soda (including chocolate bacon soda...what?!). Vegetarians can order the breakfast burrito w/ soyrizo or the avocado tacos. Everything tasted pretty good. The beef sliders were served with onions and the pork sliders come with slaw, both served on a Hawaiian rolls. Though "siracha aioli" is listed on the menu, I didn't taste the heat and tang that usually accompanies "siracha" (it's incorrectly spelled on their menu. it's "sriracha"). MORE SRIRACHA, please! (or at least put a bottle outside). The Greek Style potato chips aren't worth $4. We probably wouldn't get the chips again. Stick with the sliders and the tacos. I'll have to try the breakfast burrito w/ soyrizo next time I bump into the truck before 10:30a. Best way to locate the food truck seems to be their twitter @PolyTrolley. Don't be discouraged by the sometimes long line. They're pretty quick. They're BBQ pork slides with sriracha sauce are my personal favorite, but pretty much everything on the menu is delish. Ah yes, Cal Poly Pomona's very own food truck. It's perfect for grabbing something to eat while in between classes. The food is pretty good. I personally like their beef sliders and breakfast burritos. They also serve Starbucks, which is awesome. However, their prices are pretty high for what you get. It's definitely not a food truck you can grub from everyday. You also have to be cautious about their service. As friendly and accommodating they may be, I tried one of their daily specials: a pulled pork and avocado tempura burrito. After walking away from the truck and taking a couple of bites, I realized that my burrito didn't have any pork whatsoever. Turns out they forgot to put pork in their own pork and avocado burrito. Fortunately, they made me a new one, but it was a strange experience. In conclusion, this place has a lot of potential. But be careful with their service. read more

Poly Trolley is Cal Poly Pomona's own food truck. It features a lot of SoCal classics such as Breakfast Burritos, Tacos, Sliders and Starbucks. This food truck is np exception to the expensive pricing of food trucks. There used to be a breakfast burrito that ran for 3.75$, but now it is 5$. This truck is generally around the library area and is always featured at any live events on campus. It will be difficult to try out this food truck unless you have a reason to be on Cal Poly Pomona's campus. This is because parking isn't free and the nearest parking will still be a 5-10 minute walk. Expect to spend 6$-11$ on a meal here. read more

A great food truck in Cal Poly Pomona! The items to choose from are straightforward, and fairly, on the high mark-up, priced. The meals are quite delicious. I would recommend their sliders. Usually, they would be parked near the library or Bronco Student Center. The lines for this establishment were not long, and food was prepared quite quickly. So far, I have tried their soyrizo burrito and truffle oil chips. They have become my usual go to. The soyrizo burrito is delicious, it would have been better if the cook can mix up tater tots and the other stuff evenly, because half of my burrito is soyrizo and eggs, and when I get to the buttom, it's all tater tots. But overall it's delicious burrito. The truffle chips come in a great portion and it's also delicious. The service is fast and the staffs are friendly. Thank god they take credit card with no minimum charge. I will continue to return to this little truck. read more

I am so glad that Cal Poly Pomona officially has their own food truck! Everything is relatively cheap for the most expensive thing on the menu is $4.39. The Poly Trolly serves a variety of delicious foods and drinks such as BBQ sliders (pork, Angus beef), BBQ pork tacos, tempura avocado tacos, a breakfast burrito, Greek style chips, muffins, scones, cookies, oatmeal, "real" soda (have no idea what that is/implies), and Starbucks coffee (blended beverages, teas, lattes, expresso traditions). I think I just named the entire menu. Well, almost. :) You must stop if you see it parked! This will most likely be my new lunch alternative. The food here is decent, I'd give it a 3.5 instead of a 3. The sliders are a bit dry and the pulled pork is too sweet. The sliders are over well-done which is a common problem with sliders.. The pork's sauce just overwhelms all the flavor and is all you can taste. But the slaw is nice where it doesn't have too much dressing. The fried avocado seems cool but the taste is pretty meh. The breakfast burritos are pretty good especially for $3.50 which is what saves the food here. Otherwise it's just okay. read more

The Cal Poly food truck has really good sliders and tacos. I like the BBQ pulled pork slider and the truffle oil chips. I also like this place because they have a full Starbucks menu since the one on campus is always so busy. You have to make sure the truck is in the area you're in because it has different locations everyday. read more

This is my second time coming here. The first time I had the beef sliders which were overpriced, undersized, and pretty mundane. But decided to give this place another try. So, today I had the B.A.T. and had the sea salt chips. The bread for the B.A.T. was toasted to perfection and the avocados were the perfect ripeness. I wish that there was more bacon though. The chips were good because the were nice and crispy but I felt like they lacked alittle flavor. Maybe the addition of black pepper would've helped. The only real problem I have with this place is the price. I don't think it's worth $10, I would say $9.99. read more

Everytime I order a SB drink here, it always tastes off or watered down. Usually they mess up the mixed drinks and have to remake it, which happened twice and I only ordered from them three times since they started the trolley. Stick to drinks that don't need mixing like coffee and teas. Don't expect a full SB bar to make your custom drinks. They're working in a tiny, poorly ventilated, stuffy box so it's understandable :/ Just fyi ya'll. read more

Ive tried the bacon and soyrizo breakfast burrito now. Yup definitely go for the breakfast burritos they are the best bang for your buck. I like the bacon one the most but soyrizo isn't too bad. I am not picky about food. I ordered a breakfast burrito and two fish tacos. The fish tacos were fairly decent, but not as warm as I would had liked. The breakfast burrito was terrible. It tasted weird, had some fish bones in it, and was just unpleasant. Will not order the burritos any longer (should have just went to chiptole). I will try the sandwiches next time. I do not think the fish tacos are good value since I would need 6 of them to fill me up as an active guy ($16 for truck fish tacos, I rather have a salmon steak). read more
