The food is your usual teppanyaki affair. But service here is super top notch. Came here on a weekday and it was pretty much empty which was awesome. I saw that Yelp offers reservations and I booked a table for tomorrow for a celebratory dinner, with a memo asking if the teppan table was low enough for a wheelchair. I never received a response. I called to verify this question and they told me that there were no more teppan seats available. I couldn't understand what she was talking about, and I said I made a reservation online, and was told by here that I would have to sit at a regular table. WTF??? Apparently they have regular tables for you to order off the menu I think? And she never did answer my question if their teppan tables were wheelchair height. No apologies, just blamed Yelp for their reservation system and that I needed to make reservations weeks in advanced for a teppan table. This place needs to work with Yelp to figure out how to specify making reservations teppan vs. regular tables or just have people call and talk to a person to make reservations for a teppan table. Good thing I called otherwise I would've shown up for dinner tomorrow only to find out that I wouldn't have a seat at the table and disappoint my whole family. I ended up cancelling my reservation and making one at another teppan restaurant who did confirm they could accommodate a wheelchair.

My husband has been raving about this place every since his first visit, so I was super excited to…read moretry it. During our visit, we went with the Chef's Recommendation menu and also added mentaiko buttered scallops. I love the interior of this place. The service was also impeccable. Braised Beef Tongue - Practically melts in your mouth Wagyu Carppacio - This dish had so many textures to it. You have the raw beef carpaccio, the salad with sauce on top adds flavor to it, and finally it has the Lays chips on top to give it some crunchy texture. Japanese Wagyu Sukiyaki - My favorite thing from this evening. They do such a great show of preparing this for you and you get a dipping plate with a raw egg to get all the flavors in this. The sukiyaki sauce in the bowl was super flavorful and strong. Wagyu Short Rib - This definitely tastes better using the spices they give for your meal. It's more on the lean side so it was very easy to eat iWagyu Prime Short Rib - This has a little bit more fat and on the chewier side when ate plain. But with the dipping spices, it definitely brings out the saltiness the meat needs Wagyu Bibimbap - The staff will mix this in front of you and make sure all the ingredients are thoroughly mixed so you can get a little bit of seaweed, wagyu, sauce, and rice in every bite. Of course by the time we got to this, we were way too full so I only got a few bites in before I had to call it and to-go the rest. Mentaiko Buttered Scallops - This was amazingly creamy. However I did make a mistake by adding this to the chef's recommendation. The Chef's Recommendation is curated where everything compliments each other. The mentaiko buttered scallops had their usual strong salty taste and super creamy due to the butter, but it was too strong when added to the Chef's Recommendation that I could barely eat it during the meal. Our next return, I will go with just the chef's recommendation to avoid messing up the balance. But the chef's recommendation was curated very well if you're not sure what to get! The bibimbap and sukiyaki were the chef's kiss

So my coworker wants to try power lunch from Benihana!…read more Benihana is a restaurant that growing up that combines entertainment and teppanyaki Japanese style cooking in a restaurant. Inside is fair large, you will be seating with strangers unless you have reservations. I choose shrimp with onion soup for power lunch. It comes with some vegetables. Shrimp - I counted 12, pretty good size and taste savory and fresh. Vegetables are grilled with soy sauce. Bowl of fried rice is pretty good portion. Overall the taste is better than average since it's teppanyaki style and good use of sauce and butter for certain dishes. Power lunch starts from $15.95 to $19.95, and it doesn't have the shows. It's more of teppanyaki and food for 45 minutes lunch. Expect slightly more savory, and couple standard dipping sauces help on certain dishes. Overall it's satisfactory. I am full.

While waiting, we each grabbed cocktail from the bar. I had the Benihana punch. For $17.50 plus tax, I'd rather punch a wall than get that drink again. It was too sweet and syrupy and definitely NOT worth the price. (It cost more than my lunch) There were only about a handful of people in the restaurant (it was 1130am on a Monday) so I didn't really understand why we even had to wait. The power lunch menu is as follows : BENIHANA ONION SOUP OR BENIHANA SALAD * HIBACHI VEGETABLE RICE * HIBACHI VEGETABLES * DIPPING SAUCES and your choice of protein- CHICKEN, SHRIMP, OR TOFU 15.95 FILET MIGNON* OR NY STRIP* 19.95 I opted for the onion soup and tofu. Our soups and salads were brought out while our hibachi chef prepared our veggies and proteins in front of us. You may be wondering about my low rating, it's not because the overpriced beverage it's because of the cleanliness of the way the food is prepared. To start, our chef cleaned the grill with a damp, dirty, kitchen towel and continued to use the SAME towel the duration of cooking, wiping his spatula in between proteins preparing OUR food!!! Yuck! Per the menu it states " We are required by the Health Department to inform you that the items indicated may contain raw or undercooked ingredients and consuming raw or undercooked meat, poultry, seafood, shellfish or eggs may increase your risk of foodborne illness, especially if you have certain medical conditions". iMO The health department should be notified of the cross contamination and unsanitary cooking protocol.

I was told it would be a 15-20 minute wait, which is usually how long I normally wait at Mi Hibachi. I told the cashier (owner) I'll go to the store real quick and be back. I returned at 6:25, and my order was still not ready. I thought to myself "hey, maybe they have a big order, let's give it a few more minutes." 6:30, nothing ready. 6:40, nope, my order is still not ready. I see the cooks going back and forth as if they're making a bunch of orders at one time. Okay, so where is my order? Do they not know how to prioritize orders? I am literally standing in front of them, in pouring rain, pissed the hell off. Annoyed is an understatement for how I felt. Finally, 6:52, my order is ready. I take my order home, and once I get home, hungry and ready to eat, guess what? I take one bite of the rice, and it's stale. As if the rice was reheated from the microwave. I've never had this issue until today. Did they see my annoyed face and think they had to rush my order even faster so I don't complain? Well guys, as a restaurant owner myself, this is not how you should do business. Learn to prioritize your orders, especially when there are customers waiting in front of you. 20 minutes turning into 40 minutes is absolutely ridiculous. Also, this is just a side note. DIABLO means SPICY, very very very very very spicy. Your diablo sauce literally tastes like sriracha, hummus, and mayo. Isn't spicy at all. I, as of today will no longer be supporting this business. I am now sitting at home, cooking myself my own steam rice, and pairing with the steak and shrimp I got from Mi Hibachi. Oh, and I also need to use Truff hot sauce cause this sauce ain't cutting it.

For those who are pregnant and have limitations on what you can consume - you won't be left out! They offer the quality of the Wagyu. The experience leans more toward a curated meat tasting, with beautifully presented, juicy cuts that are satisfying without being overwhelming. Great service and nice attentive. The reason why 4 stars because of the tomato and raw vegetables portions. I'm not sure if they still serve Japanese tomato as they did in the past year, past year was a whole tomato, now they did couple pieces. Spending close to $300 for 2 people sounds over priced. I wish they would do better on the veggies snack and tomato .. those are cheap veggies not likely the meat. Hope they upgrade something to impress their menu. We don't expect the return.

I ordered the Premium Beef, but what was brought to me looked more like regular beef--and honestly, even worse than the regular beef I've had here before. The slices were extremely fatty, with almost half of the meat being pure fat. I told the server that it looked very different from the Premium Beef I normally receive, but instead of taking my concern seriously, he just laughed and said, "That's it. This is the Angus beef." I explained again that I had ordered Premium Beef, not Angus beef. He eventually brought me a new plate, but he seemed extremely reluctant and visibly annoyed about having to replace it. His attitude throughout the interaction felt very dismissive, arrogant, and disrespectful. I understand that he may be a new server, and I don't expect perfection from someone who is still learning. However, the way he handled a simple concern from a customer was very disappointing. I've eaten lunch at Jazz Cat many times and have never experienced this kind of service before. I'm not sure if his name was Stephen or something similar, so I don't want to accuse the wrong person. But I do hope the management can look into this. I actually miss the tall gentleman who used to work here. He was always so polite, friendly and provided great service. I really hope this was just an isolated incident, because I've always enjoyed coming to Jazz Cat and would hate for one poor service experience to change that.

Their menu is expansive. Portions are always hearty. I ordered 3 dishes knowing full well we wouldn't finish it. - lunch special bbq pork with two eggs over rice. I was actually impressed with the roast pork! It was flavorful and had a good chew. Not melt in your mouth soft but better than a lot of other places. Very good for under $17. - Singapore vermicelli noodles - had a nice curry kick. The noodle was very dry but that's how I like it. I love the shrimps, it was plump and juicy. The roast pork was flavorful. - margarita pizza - been meaning to try their western menu and thought pizza was a good start. The pizza was actually not too bad! It came out piping hot and fresh but the tomato sauce was cold. Weird. They probably spooned on the sauce and cheese after letting the dough cook first. The dough was really really good! I had enough to take home to make more sunny side up eggs to enjoy it with Sweet & Sour Pork Ribs - Comes with a large side of jasmine rice. The sour and sweet sauce is just right, not overpowering in flavor on one spectrum. There are bones on some of the ribs FYI. The sauteed vegetables is a great balance to the rib meat. Baked Sole Fillet & Spinach in Cream Sauce - I chose pasta which hit the carb crave I was having. They had big chunks of sole fillet to balance the creamy sauce. I would recommend adding a bit of pepper if you want some adjustments to the flavoring. The staff seated us immediately and provided their complimentary soup of the day, which was cream corn soup Definitely coming back to enjoy more dishes in the near future =]
