BUYER BEWARE!! Non transparent charging!!! They quote a $69 service change but then add on fuel charges and an hourly rate of $170. So when they knock on your door you owe them close to $300! They take their sweet time and walk through everything two three four times - generating more hours without actually doing any work. They also won't come out without a cc on file which they charge the moment they drive away. This means you have no idea of what your bill is before your card is swiped. Our simple fix of an issue costs more than a medical bill. I regret calling them and for your sake I advise you don't! read more

I found the store organized and very clean. The staff were extremely knowledgeable on not only their brands but were able to answer questions I had on the chemicals I was currently using. I look forward to running out of what I currently have to I can switch to theirs. Wow! Talk about great service. First time above-ground pool owners and we filled our pool straight from the well. Our water looked like the Willamette It was during a heat wave on Saturday and they were busy. But they were prompt on testing out water and coming up with the right solution to get our pool in top shape. They were great about answering all of our crazy questions. This location has so much in stock, we were worried they would be out of chemicals, but they had everything we needed. Highly recommend! read more

Terrible customer service. Techs have no idea about pools and treatments. Bought over $100 in pool chemicals that the printout stated I needed after having my pool water tested and the treatment did not work at all. Followed instructions to a tee, no results. Called the store and my only options now are to return (to buy a whole new round of chemicals to treat differently, probably another $100..no thank you) or drain the pool and start over with most likely the same result. So frustrating. Stay away and find more competent staff elsewhere. read more

I used their home service for about a year with no problems. Then the pool guy changed and it went to hell in a hand basket. First the left the pool gate open, not once but twice - a high school kid would know better. Exposed me to great liability but fortunately I caught his stupid mistake. Then he dragged a hose to fill the pool when it had a built in system that I had shown him. He failed to put the hose back. Lazy. I told him to stop coming. He came not once, but twice after that. I began to double check my bills because they kept billing me enormous amounts. They actually were trying to get $1,600 from me when I was completely paid up. Can you believe that. In checking my bill, I found they charged me several hundred dollars more for a pool sweep than it could be bought for on line. Rip off after rip off. I wrote the manager and he failed to even return my phone calls. I put the sweep in a bag and delivered it to his door. Then, checking the pool house I found the pool guy had not checked the back wash hose and it was completely unhooked, causing about a foot deep hole behind the foundation of the house. Lazy. Incompetent. Then only recently I discovered the chlorinator was not bolted to the pool house floor. This was not only lazy again but unsafe! It could spill and send chlorine fumes near the furnace! What jerks! Cascade Pool instaled the pool. They have a waiting list for service. Little wonder considering the competition totally sucks. Beware of the Pool House in Tigard. Jerks supreme. I'm new to owning a hot tub, and just inherited one from the previous owners of the house we bought. I was a little nervous about maintaining it, so after I hired someone to "decontaminate" the hot tub, I took a water sample in to these guys for a water test. Turns out the test is free - and comprehensive! - and the woman who helped me went out of her way to explain the results to me. She provided clear, step-by-step instructions for the chemicals I should add to balance all the levels. I brought a picture of the leftover chemicals, and she said I had everything I need - didn't try to sell me anything, and showed me which bottle was which chemical on the instructions. We are running a bromine system, but at my request, she also explained the pros and cons of the other chemical systems: chlorine and mineral systems. Even though I only bought some test strips and a net, she took a lot of time to provide excellent customer service and help me get comfortable with this new responsibility. I'll be back for more water tests, and to buy more chemicals when my supply runs out! read more

Since I only have a jacuzzi, I haven't experienced their house calls so this review is just for service in the store. It was great. I felt taken care of and the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. I have never owned a jacuzzi and they were able to explain the maintenance and beginning steps to me very easily. We maintain our pools and have used this business for years for our supplies. This year we asked them to come out to our apartment complex and shock our pool 1-2 times since I was out of state and couldn't get to it. My tenant saw them their 1 time and called me and said we shouldn't need a 2nd treatment that the first treatment worked great. I never heard from Pool House again. Then months later I get charged $800.00. Never receiving a bill, itemization or a phone call. There is no way that 2 shock treatments cost $800.00. If so, I'll be opening my own Pool & Spa business ! I have called and left 6 messages for the Tigard branch manager Howard Stephenson. Only once did he answer his phone and after I explained my order, he said he'd get right on this and get back to me. I've never heard back from him. I have since left him 3 more messages begging him to resolve this and respond via email or phone call. Then out of frustration, I then contacted the BBB to enlist their help - twice. And the Pool & Spa House will not even respond to the BBB. And they've closed the complaint as the company will not respond to them either. Now, as a last ditch effort I have now sent a letter to the President, Brendan Reilly. I am happy to pay for the 2 services I ordered. As soon as they respond and bill me for 2 treatments and 2 treatments only. In the meantime, the only communication I get from them is a monthly bill for $800.00. I've since taken my business elsewhere, however, I want to resolve this and pay for the correct services I ordered. This has been going on for 6 months. Who has time to deal with this month after month? Do not give them your business until they join the BBB as a full-fledged member and improve their rating here on Yelp. Otherwise you'll be the next customer logging a poor review :-( I own companies in multiple states and I've never dealt with a company more disorganized and non-compliant. Give your business to a reputable company that is associated with the BBB and can stand in front of and behind their services. This is clearly a problem from the top down. As no one from the company would contact the BBB and the service manager for the Tigard store won't return phone calls. Yet each month they send me a bill. Seems like the only department that works and has follow through is their A/R department. Maybe that manager should be moved to customer service and you'd see some improvement in their YELP scores :-( read more

We are new weekly maintenance customers this year. Our Technician Mike has shown up on a regular schedule and the pool water is sparkling clean. worst place ever,they will sell you chemicals that dont work,i went to there store 5 to 6 times,from 6-2-21 to 6-24-21.afterthe second time they see you are getting fustrated .they tell you no matterwhat they will make it right.then they give you free chemicals that dont work.then they blame your water and have you drain half, did not work. then they tell you to chemicly clean sand filter,i bought new sand from them . did not work. they then told me to go somewhere else. i asked them to make this right and give my money back,no money back??,they say since they gave me free chemicals shows they tried,i say if they dont work what does that matter.then i spoke to regional manager tony ,he stated he looked at what happened and stated chemical showed they were working, and i should go else where. i e-mailed him and asked him to explain why it shows on all there test results,which i have,my pool was better when i first came in and got worse,as per there read outs.guesswhat he will not respond?? what happened to we will make it right,no matter what?? guess i should of read kylie c review 7/9/20 first. read more

I just got an above ground pool and went here for chemicals via my friends recommendation. Rynn was very nice and helpful and spent lots of time answering my newbie questions. I brought in some sample water from my pool and they tested it and helped me figure out exactly what I need, which cost less than I was anticipating! I was given a print out with instructions for my specific pool. I will be back frequently with pool samples to make sure I'm getting it right, (they give you a free container for this, but my first time going in I just used a mason jar.) read more

Getting pool companies to come to your home in a timely manner is becoming more and more of a problem in recent years. Seems more folks are building pools and the maintenance companies and not growing to support the growth. The company that built my pool many years ago was my provider of choice for over 20 years but despite the fact that I have been a customer for over 20 years and always paid on time, in recent years, they just were not available to give me the requested support. Enter Pool and Spa House. They are a bit more expensive than my old provider but support the cleaning mechanism in my pool (a Kreepy Krawley) and are available to make requested service calls though at times it takes more than one call to get things resolved. Over all I am satisfied with the service I get from them. read more

HORRIBLE POOL TECHNICAL SUPPORT!!!! Their Technical Support Manager is not at all customer oriented and failed to correctly install a required Vacuum Release System (VRS) on our pool as per the contract. He repeatedly denied that the system was incorrectly installed. It was only when his own "Master Technician" examined and recommended a correction to our system, (the same correction that was initially suggested by the Pool Manager 1 1/2 years earlier), that their Technical Support Manager approve the recommended system modification. Modifications were made and the system is now working as it should. Their Technical Support Manager has not apologize for, nor acknowledge his 1 1/2 year mistake with us. Our time, money and unnecessary equipment wear was expended for this firms faulty installation. Their Technical Support Manager's final cutting comment was, "I WILL NOT SEND ANY OF MY TECHNICIANS TO YOUR POOL AGAIN". We were dropped by this business for pointing out a correction the the VRS that they should have done per the contract at the time of initial installation. This unprofessional treatment and behavior from this pool service business could also be directed to you. read more
