I recently did a pool renovation with this company and I am happy with how my pool turned out. I will start with the positives. If you want a pebble tec product there are only two authorized installers and this company uses Sol Pacific. I liked that Don's quote was fairly priced and he didn't try to push anything I didn't need. The quote I got from Gardner was almost double and included a lot of unnecessary work. The crew mistakenly installed expired mastic around the edge of my pool and Trevor owned it and replaced it without me asking which I really appreciated. Overall I was not blown away with Don's customer service. In the planning process I was referred to one single website to pick the tile. I didn't particularly like any of their options and asked if there was another company they could refer me to and got something like "not really they all went out of business". Within 15 minutes of searching I found another pool tile company. I asked if he had heard of it and he said he could get those tiles as well. I was told all the samples would be brought before I left on vacation, but Don delivered the last sample after I left so I had pick my tile based on texted pictures so as to not hold up the project. Trevor went and purchased tile grout without asking me my color preference which I found very bizarre. They were willing to exchange it. I never got any materials showing the different pebble sheen colors so I picked my color from a brochure provided by another company. Trevor asked for the final payment the morning my finish was going in. I said the works not done yet. They said ok then just mail it. I said "aren't you going to come inspect the final product?" and got back we don't have problems with Sol Pacific. Ok great, but then why hire you if they are checking their own work and how about that mistake with the expired mastic that happened just last week? They did come back after I asked, but I was disappointed I had to ask. If you pay for their start up they would naturally come back, but I prefer my pool man to own the water and felt penalized for that. read more

Don't waste your time with this company if you want your pool resurfaced or remodeled. They rarely answer their phone. My wife called multiple pool resurfacing companies and received a good response and reasonable price from Don to mini pebble our pool and make some repairs. We decided to go with the Pool Dictor to do the work. My wife called to sign a contract and get on the schedule, but Lori said they don't do contracts and we'd be on the schedule for February (quote in August) with 20 jobs ahead of us. No contracts is a bit unusual but we were ok. January arrived and my wife called to confirm the February start and left a voicemail. Lori responded with a voicemail that said there were still 20 jobs ahead of us scheduled 5 months out. We understand things happen, issues with supplies and staff could cause delays, so we were willing to wait. My wife called again to attempt to sign a contract, confirm scheduling, and verify they would honor their quote. Over a week has passed and still no response. We can only assume that they forgot about us, or pushed us back for new constructions, as that is the only logical reason why they did not want to sign a contract. We called the SD Pool dr based on reviews. They promptly returned our call and gave us a free estimate for a simple pool remodel/update. Their pricing was competitive. And they also provide ideas and work around budgets to give you what you're looking for. I thought that was great because while other companies tried to upsell, The Pool Dr listened and put the customer first rather than profit. communication was not good with Don and Patrick. took just over 13 months from when we said yes till we had water in the pool again. sept on 2021 we said yes to the bid to replaster our pool and we were told it would be some time but in February they would start. January 2022 we contacted Don and we were told no summer start. in late june we were told it would be done in parts but be done by Aug. the first week of July the pool was drained and demolished. in August tile and coping installed, in September the deck to coping gap filled. in Oct plastered and filled. then they went to restart the pool and nothing worked. Patrick said it was our issue and they left. never checked the spa, water fill, or waterfall worked. never cleaned the filter. in fact they left pool empty so long our homeowners insurance started a cancellation process. Also tile workers washed the tile cut wash tubs into the HOA land behind our house and now we are being fined for cleanup. do not use this company. read more

My husband and I decided this is the year we would remodel our existing pool (pebble tec finish, tiles and coping) as well as add additional waterscape features and a slide for my 8 year old son. I called and left a message and Lori returned my call. I spoke with Lori and scheduled an appointment. Disappointingly, The Pool Doctor did not show up as scheduled and did not call to say that he would be late. I called twice (30 min and 1 hour after the appointed time) to request whether he was still planning to keep the appointment. As a professional courtesy to my husband and I, it would have been nice to receive an acknowledgment of today's appointment, since we arranged our work schedules to accommodate this appointment today. However, we did not get a call. If we do, we will not reschedule. UPDATE Lori called at 6:47 pm and apologized for the "confusion" as did The Pool Doctor who responded to my 1-star review. The only confusion here is that both my husband and I were home and if The Pool Doctor was at our home, why didn't he ring our door bell or knock on our door? Better yet, why wouldn't he call to say he is currently at our home? This is an unusual review since we ended up not using Don Wall, the Pool Doctor, but only have great things to say about him. Our pool had a severe crack where the elevated spa connects to the pool. Our first thought was to remove the existing spa and put a new one at pool level. Don came out and had some great ideas to convert the existing spa into a firepit instead of removing it and to fiberglass line our pebbltec surfaced pool. He then came out a second time with Kyle from PS 2000, a company that specializes in fiberglass pool resurfacing. After the second trip, Don sent us his proposal along with the bid from PS 2000 for the fiberglass lining. After more thought, we decided to just repair the crack and fiberglass line the pool and existing spa. The grandkids will just need to get out of the pool and run around to jump in the spa! When I told him of our decision not to have Pool Doctor do the work he couldn't have been more gracious. He agreed that we should just fix and line the pool using PS2000 who will do a great job. Don came out today for a consult and I was very impressed. We have a pool that the previous owners built about 4 or 5 years ago so we don't need to a new build or a re-build but we wanted to add some water features to the pool. The spa jets were also not therapeutic at all and so we wanted to have the jets redone. Don, made a few adjustments and in seconds we had therapeutic jets on the spot! I was thrilled! Thank you Don for fixing our hot tub issue on the house! As for the water feature additions, Don was very honest about the fact that due to the location of the pool vs. the pool equipment/plumbing, it would be very invasive to the existing landscaping, lighting, etc to put a water feature in. From the moment Don Wall walks up to you to introduce himself, you know, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that he's the one you want to hire.
