We started looking for a pool contractor last summer. We met with 6 different companies, Taylor-Made, and specifically Derek, were amazing during the initial planning process. We spent a few weeks going back and forth locking down the design, before we ever paid a penny or signed any sort of contract. Allen and his team did an excellent job on our pool remodel. I honestly couldn't be happier with the outcome. Not only does the pool look great but I'm still amazed at how quickly he completed the work. He managed to drain our old pool, jackhammer the old plaster, replace our old cracked coping with beautiful custom cut chocolate quartzite, redo all the tile and lay new Tahoe Blue mini-pebble plaster in less than 2 weeks. We were actually in the pool and enjoying it in a little over a week, even prior to the seal being installed. The entire job took about 2 and a half weeks to complete and the results look amazing. The funny thing is that he put int he contract that the pool would be done by the end of June, which would have been 6 weeks and he was actually done by the beginning of June. Talk about under promising and over delivering. Allen transformed our old outdated cracking and peeling pool into a beautiful resort style grotto that we'll be enjoying for most of the year. Not only was the work done well but Allen has a real passion for his trade and he takes pride in what can be considered an art form. The work he did on our concrete when adding in a new dedicated vac line and skimmer line was professionally done and I wish we would have had the funds to have him re-do our entire back patio area because he did a great job. We actually got quotes from several other contractors before having the work done and while Allen's bid wasn't the cheapest, the high quality materials he used made up for the small difference in price. I did my research and Quartzite is more dense than flagstone and will last longer. In addition the Stonescape Mini Pebbles have a much longer life expectancy than the Quartz plaster the other contractors were quoting as the materials in their bid. Overall I'd definitely recommend Allen and Taylor Made Pools to anyone looking to have their pool re-done, build a new pool or even to have your entire back patio re-done. His work speaks for itself and I'm sure that you won't be disappointed in excellent work they'll do for you. read more

Thanks so much to Allen and his team for making our pool beautiful! When we purchased our home we decided we would need to resurface the pool as the plaster had many stains/parts coming up. It was a difficult process to choose what type of surface and what color. Allen was so great at suggesting different options and that is how we landed on mini pebble. He was also flexible. Due to budget, the color I wanted would put us over budget (Tropics blue) so I asked if it would be possible to use the dye from tropics blue and the stones from aqua white. He was able to do this. Allen was the most reasonable on cost and timing as well. I had my heart set on a July 4th pool party and the team made it happen. Allen and his crew were wonderful to work with on our pool remodel. We had several cracks and our plaster looked bad. The original pool materials were very basic and were also in need of a cosmetic upgrade. Allen was 1 of 3 contractors we received bids from. His pricing was slightly lower, but on par with the other contractors. While cost is important, there are other factors that we consider as important, if not more so. Experience and reputation are critical, especially where a major investment is concerned. When Allen arrived to bid our work, he came well prepared to answer all of our questions and he was the only contractor of the 3, who provided materials for us to review. We were able to peruse the brochures at our leisure, in order to determine some of the finishes we would select. We did our homework and felt confident that he was a contractor in good standing, BBB accredited, as well as having all good Yelp reviews. Once we decided to hire Taylor Made Pools, he directed us to local suppliers where we could choose our Quartzite coping color, as well as pebble and tile options. I would highly recommend doing this as colors are never quite the same as in the catalog photo. We also discussed options for our new cement deck and Allen was very helpful in advising us about which ones to avoid. We decided to add a tan color to the cement and to add a top cast finish, at his recommendation. The process of demo and all the steps to finish, is a long one. There is a lot of dust and mess to deal with, but the results are well worth the disruption. Allen's crews were highly skilled, very personable and their work, interesting to observe. We have a Sockeye Salmon Quartzite coping, Tahoe Blue mini pebble finish and a Silverstone "ocean" tile. Our new pool is gorgeous! We couldn't be happier! Also, as a side note, our next door neighbors also received bids from the same 3 contractors and also selected Taylor Made Pools.
