Referral from my real state agent Pool Guys have done the inspection so I decided to contract for cleaning and regular maintenance. The pool was green from the beginning. On the first visit payed them, came couple more times Pool had some improvement and after I notice was going back to green after several messages and calls with no answer finally was contacted by Chris. Had The Pool Guys for 9 months. It started off great and ended terribly. I paid for weekly service. I might add that I was prompt and always paid early. They do deserve 5 stars for billing. They always bill on time every month. On multiple occasions they tried to bill me twice or say I hadn't paid. I would have to screen shot from my PayPal to show them I had indeed paid weeks prior. This should have been my first clue of how their business was ran. The person that was contracted to service my pool sometimes came on Thursday and sometimes on Fridays. It was a guessing game each week. I'm retired and always home in the morning so either my cameras or my dog alert me when he would come. My vacuum lock had broken off and the contracted worker assured me he would bring a replacement. I noticed no one came one week. But I let it go, thinking maybe I was wrong. Then a 2nd week went by and my pool seemed not right. Then a 3rd week and the pool was green and disgusting. I contacted Chris a few times before I got a reply. He had no idea his contracted worker had left the area and hadn't been to our house. He assured me he would be out that Saturday to fix the pool and bring my long awaited vacuum lock. (There was absolutely no chlorine in the basket) He told me to go out and buy 2lbs of shock and put it in the pool until he could make it out. He was a no show for Saturday. And he couldn't be reached. He didn't contact me again until the following Tuesday to advise "someone" would be out to service the pool. A different worker came and put some chemicals in the pool looked a little better. The following week, no one came again. Chris would never tell me when to expect my new service day, even after repeated attempts to reach him. Chris told me multiple times he would be out with vacuum lock. Annnnd you get the idea. Never came. I'm still waiting for a refund for the 3-4 weeks of no service I hired Pure Water Pool Service last week because they seemed to have it together and be much more professional. And they are! Comparable pricing, vacuum lock in place during their first servicing. They also keep record of their attendance on a sheet by your pool pump. So there can be no mistaken read more

I've read several of the reviews before and after becoming a client. No business is perfect, cant make everyone happy, so everyone's review carrys some sort of merit. Having said that, I took a chance on this company because my original pool service became M.I.A. and my pool went from useable to a swamp. I am handicap and its difficult to do alot of the physical jobs of pool maintenance and he knew that ( yep, still pissed) Anyway, i had Vintage come out, they did a phenomenal job of getting my pool back to normal but unfortunately, they couldn't accommodate weekly pool service. So i searched for a new pool service and EVERYONE was full up....CRAP!!!!!! Skyler followed up my Yelp request and he was ON IT!!!!! My biggest request was communication, things happen...sometimes techs cant come out or other issues, just let me know. I'm cool with whatever happens but not showing and no word.....I'll drop you. He has come through with everything he promised, told me that if my tech couldn't get there, he would send someone else or he would come himself. I receive very courteous text, letting me know when they will arrive (I have big dogs) they treated, vacuumed the pool, ran pump, checked skimmer lines, etc...my pool has never looked better!!! I found this company through a friend who did the research for me. I was in need of a reliable service for our pool. Chris started off well until about month 2 where he just up and quit without telling me. I was out of state and found out by my son who was house sitting and told me the pool was green. I then contacted Chris without a response. I had my bf contact him and he responded. He said his wife made him cancel my service for non payment but that it was his fault because he had my credit card info. We thought this was very unprofessional but we let it go. He again started coming and then we needed a new pump. I gave the okay to order and get it installed. 3 weeks later he still had not installed. Once again, we contact him and he comes out to install. End of the day, we walk back to the equipment and things are all taken apart and the job is not complete! He never said anything to anyone. My bf called him and he said he needed a part to complete the job. So we left back out of state and figured he'd go back and finish. Also, he was to be servicing the pool weekly. Well jump forward 1 1/2 months later. Again I get a call telling me the pool is green and there is no power to pump and it's not working. I was sent a couple pics which I will include if they let me. His work was sloppy, he NEVER called to tell me it was complete or he couldn't complete it. Nothing. He also left garbage just sitting in the backyard instead of getting rid of it. Mind you, he has already been paid. I just trusted he would do what was right! So, I call him and text him. Nothing. I have my adult son call him and Chris responds to him saying he will be by later to check it out. I was appalled that he chose to respond to my son but wouldn't me. That confirmed he was 100% avoiding me. So now I don't know what the problem is, I will have to pay another company to come check what was done and not done. He never showed to check it nor did he ever call me, which I requested him to do. He is a fraud. I don't know why he thinks this is ok but it is not. This guy Chris is very unprofessional professional! He has another side business doing estate sales that is his priority not pool cleaning. He would never show up on the day he was scheduled and would not answer calls or messages. My gate would be unlock for him to come clean our pool but he would never show up on the days he said he would. No call no show from this guy. Last month of service he only came two times. We would pay him $100/mo to come every week and he ripped us off. He always demanded payment early aswell and then not show. Save yourself money and headaches....hire a real professional. I had Chris come out and clean my hot tub. He charged $150 and did a quick power wash plus a drain and refill. I have had an issue with a white film in the tub. He said it shouldn't come back. It's been going away with a wipe but I wanted it to get a real cleaning. A quick Google search said that it might be a mold. He was nice enough to explain some of the basics to me as I got this hot tub with my new house. I'm hoping the white film is now permanently gone with regular upkeep by me. This company was hired by the home inspection company for the sale of my house. Said my pool light just needed a new bulb, which was confusing to me since the light came on and faded off, but what do I know? I'm not a pool professional. He changed the bulb and guess what, it came on and faded off. He took $110.00 from me and said it's just the breaker. He left the wires in my box all pulled apart and said he would be back in two days. He never came back and won't return my calls or texts. I have since had an electrician come out. Says the switch and breaker are fine. Thank for nothing Pool Guys and thanks for stealing $110.00 from me. Moving is stressful enough without having to deal with incompetent "professionals". Chris is fantastic, my CYA was high so I decided to drain 1/2 of my pool. Chris fit me into his schedule and within 6 hours my pool was where I wanted it. Started out great, but after a few months we noticed that the service was being done less and less frequently. We were told to put the checks out by the pump timer, which we did and they were being collected. Then we noticed that we would put out the checks and they would stay there for over a month!!! Then we started receiving notices about late payments! At that point we had had enough and cancelled! That was 2 months ago and we are still receiving notices of late payment and requests for current payments! If you are looking for a long term pool cleaning service, I don't think this is it. read more

We have used this business for pool care since March 2021, when we purchased our home. Chris worked with our realtor to clean out the pool and refill. We had brief interactions and he seemed kind and quick so we pursued pool services with him. We initially hired him for chemical services only at a rate of 60$ monthly. Initially he was responsive to messages and phone calls and was quick to help if we had a problem. Our pool built up algae despite our efforts to scrub and run the filter. Feeling that this was due to our novice pool knowledge we increased our pool service to full care for a rate of 120$ in June. During this time we also put in surveillance cameras over the pool as a safety measure for small children living in our home. At the end of June our pool continued to build up algae and we found ourselves having to purchase a good amount of chemicals to treat it. This made me suspicious as to whether or not the business we pay had been fulfilling their duty. I went through the camera footage and he had not serviced our pool for the month of June. We messaged him to see if everything was okay. We know this is a rough time for businesses, and we're happy to discuss a resolution. However, Chris will not respond to our texts or calls. We were hoping for an easy resolution, such as applying our credit to July, or refunding us but it is apparent he is not concerned with holding up his end. If you are looking for someone to fix a one-time problem where you do not pay for service in advance he would be a fit, however I'd be weary of hiring him for a monthly service. It seems many other Yelp reviews support this as well (much to our surprise). I will be looking at Yelp reviews before hiring services in the future. Learned my lesson. read more

I want to start off by stating that he was a quick responder and he does a great job cleaning pools. However he requests payment up front the first month we paid in full up front. He came for the first month. He kept requesting the key to our gate and we just stated for him to inform us if he has to come on another day than his scheduled day and we can unlock it. For the first month he came every week and updated us if he would be here on another day. The second month he had progressively pushed back his day every week. Finally the third week of the month he never showed up, never replied back to our requests to find out when he would come. I finally requested that he at least refund us for the two weeks he was paid upfront and still no response back from him. It has now been over two weeks with no response or refund from him. Very disappointing and very unprofessional. Please do not pay him up front for you might not get what you have already paid for just like us. read more

About a month ago my pool pump stopped working. It was old so I didn't fret much I just called Chris with the pool guys. He advised me what pump i needed to meet all of California's rules and regulations. He even told me where to get it. Once the pump arrived i contacted him to arrange an install date.
