Food was awesome. Ordered the bbq platter. Half/half of lemon/herb and milder than mild sauce. The milder and mild sauce is a slow burn level of spicy that builds up the more you eat so just be aware. Same with the rice. Don't get me wrong, everything tasted great, but just fyi to those sensitive to spicy. Cassava fries great. Fried corn weren't crunchy if expecting it to be, but tasted good nonetheless. Meats great. Nothing dried out (tender/moist/rich). Don't expect American style ribs btw. These were more like a thicker cut of korean short ribs. The wings had a sweet but smokey bbq sauce separate from the sauces you can pick for the ribs from what I could tell. Rice was good, but heat built up so had to pace on eating it. Really liked the lemon or lime citrus twist to it. Paired well with the cream sauce that helped level the heat. Had all this delivered (ordered thru their site), no spillage, and was packaged up well. Will definitely keep on good to list. read more

This is a good spot for some Peri-Peri chicken. Their Cajun, hot and medium sauce have been pretty good with Cajun being my favorite, though very spicy. Their extra hot and garlic sauces on the side is also very good. The service is also good, the person behind the counter was good to explain me their top sellers and their specialty dishes during my first visit. It is a good family friendly place with good ambiance for spicy halal chicken. I do feel though that the portion sizes was very small and not very filling. read more

This is the first time having peri peri chicken. We made the trek to Canyon Park in Bothell to try it out. The restaurant is clean, orderly and quiet. We ordered two 1/4 chickens and had the peri cassava fries and corn on the cob. The chicken was delicious and we loved the cassava fries. I ordered the chicken with medium heat. I thought the medium was hot for me but my wife thought it was not hot enough. We also tried their raspberry cheesecake and the mufawar coffee. The cheesecake as a little dry but tasty. The mufawar coffee tasted of cardamom, although it did not mention it on their menu. That cardamom taste lasted the afternoon. No service complaints except that the utensil box on our table, as well as others, were empty except for knives. Had to get the utensils myself from their staging area. Overall, the dining experience was great. read more

I went there on 8/3 which was their opening day and I wish I did not waste my time and my money. Long waiting. Over an hour to get my food. Slow service. The chicken strips were cold and so was the rice too. They did not have professional staff with experience. I wasted over an hour and a half there and I hardly ate. They should not have opened that day as they were not ready. Poor planning and poor management decision. Also so over priced for the food you get. Wanted a burger so bad....first time here, November25 @7:12 ....and have to say last. The Carne DOUBLE [thin]meat burger tasted dry and crumbly. I didn't want any spice and yet I could taste it and DIDN'T LIKE the flavor at all. Side of red sliced potato salad was too heavy on the mayonnaise for my taste..didn't eat much of that. The owner stopped by my table to ask me if I liked my food., I always give an honest answer and told him that I did not. Had some delicious finger licking Peri Peri Chicken and cassava fries at the Port of Peri Peri on BEH (same block as Crystal Creek Cafe). The beef ribs looked really awesome too. Whether you're missing Nandos or looking for a slightly different kind of sauce/seasoning...give them a try. The tea is super awesome too. Very welcoming ambience, esp. the corner sitting area for hanging out over tea/coffee. I've heard the service can be slow at busy times, I hope they've already improved that. read more

Overall, it was okay. I probably won't drive all the way to Bothell just for this. I ordered the chicken burrito, quarter chicken, and casava fries. The chicken in both dishes was extremely dry, to the point I wasn't able to easily cut it with the knife provided by the restaurant. Maybe I went on a bad day because the other reviewers seem to rave about how good and juicy the chicken is. The rice was overcooked as well. Garlic sauce lacked flavor but the spicy sauce was great. Flavor wise, it was pretty solid. I got the medium, and it was a nice spice with fruitiness. The casava fries were nice and crunchy, but there were many bits that were hard and fibrous. It is also expensive for the portion size. As I said up front. It's not bad, but I wouldn't come here again, especially not from Seattle. read more

The chicken is excellent. My husband had the 1/2 dark meat chicken with the peri peri hot level of sauce, and I had the 1/2 breast chicken with lemon pepper sauce. The lemon pepper sauce was fantastic, the chicken was seared beautifully with those little charred bits, just yum. My husband loves spicy food and the hot peri peri was actually hot for once. We also had potato salad, coleslaw, and the peri peri fries. The fries were the only let down, they were cold and dead upon arrival to our table. They just opened and it shows. They took over a half hour to get our food out, they look short staffed for how busy they were for lunch on a Sunday. I would not be able to do lunch there on a work day and get back in time. As others have mentioned, it's not cheap. Lunch for 2 with chicken, 3 sides to share, a bottle of water, and tip was just under $60.00. The chicken is absolutely worth the price, the sides, I'm not so sure. We will definitely try them again. read more

This is a hard review for me. I would give 5 stars for the white garlic sauce alone. The service was great as well. Food was tasty. Yet the portion for the price is way too much money for this style of establishment. This is not a fancy restaurant, more like a fast food joint type of feel. If you don't know what peri seasoning is or how to order they are super friendly and helpful to get it so you hopefully dont order something that you hate. However the chicken thigh is that. Doesn't come with a side. The sides are extra. All in all for 2 people we spent before tip 54$ to us the coffee was the only thing that we couldn't choke down. The food however was amazing flavors! Yet if we want to spend that much on a random weeknight outing there are much more cozy options in our area. read more

About time someone stepped in where Nandos dropped the ball {you literally have Washington DC locations only & they've never expanded from there}. This place off the bat was nice;- clean tables and staff was attentive to my order. Chicken was absolutely amazing with the cassava peri fries. We've been missing peri peri chicken since moving back to Seattle so when Port of Peri Peri opened up its been on the list of places we had to try. The venue was spacious, clean, and modern. We ordered the wings, dark meat, halloumi, and rice. The chicken was delicious! Each piece was saucy, flavorful, and smokey from the grill. Our favorite was surprisingly the halloumi. Which was covered with the same peri peri sauce plus a touch of sweetness. We enjoyed the rice which was well spiced, and reminded us of our favorite biriani. The fries were a miss for us, but it could have been because we ordered to-go. They were soggy by the time we got home. Our order came with plenty of creamy white sauce and peri peri sauce on the side in case you needed to add more sauce to the food. Though we found the peri peri sauce to be salty on its own, when paired with the rice it was a great melding of flavors. The white sauce amazing, we poured it on everything. Overall we really enjoyed the food and will be coming back again. Definitely going to be telling family and friends about it. read more

The food was extremely expensive for what it is. 32 dollars for half a chicken, 3 soggy chicken wings and about 12 french fries. Additionally the "thigh and leg" portion of our chicken was undercooked and when we asked to send it back, employees argued that it was because they "inject the sauce" into the chicken that it might look undercooked. Then after they agreed to make us a new one, another employee came out to tell us again how we were wrong, but they were gonna make a new one anyway. All in all, 175 dollars for a family of 4 to eat is pretty expensive. Will not be back. read more

Great food! The dining area is a bit awkward, could use some music to cut the tension. We chose to get our food to go because of that. Also there was an extra worker standing next to the order taker but it wasn't explained if he was training or why he was there, so that was really awkward as well. Start off with a big bang in Bothell. Good food but high rates. After a while looks like they jacked up the prices and they blame inflation. The food quantity is meager for the prices they charge. Spiciness wise, it really depends on how well you handle your spicy food, I recommend to always start in the middle and then decide whether you'd like up or down. Just back from The Port of Peri Peri in Bothell, never been to one of these but a long time Nando's fan, often travelling to Vancouver BC for my fix! Overall had a great experience, staff are dealing with "new restaurant" challenges so orders were taking +30 mins to get out, I am sure this will improve as they find their feet. Still place is nice and the manager (I assume) was floating around and apologising for the wait. It was worth the wait though. Chicken wings were right up there with Nando's, I went for Extra Hot and they had a nice kick to them! Coleslaw was creamy and delicious as were the cassava fries! This place newly opened in Bothell a few weeks ago and has been super popular across town! We got take out so weren't able to experience in house service but the food was excellent. We got the all in one platter and were able to try the veg Mac and cheese as well. The Mac and cheese was honestly okay but I mixed in some of their hot sauce and it went from 5 to 10 instantly. The chicken was amazing - you can choose which flavor spice you want and we got cajun hot which was the perfect amount of kick and spice. It was cooked really well, very moist, and very delicious. We also got a side of cassava fries were cut up into squares. It came with their spicy sauce and a white sauce which I think is garlic sauce. Both were excellent. The price point is a little high for portion size, so taking advantage of their platters to share would be the best bet. The food overall as amazing but my one complaint is, I think they're still trying to figure out how to service the demand. The restaurant was full (they even had a line of people waiting) and looked like a lot of people were waiting for food. I got a text saying my takeout order was ready but I was still waiting 15 minutes after I got there to get my food. That was kind of disappointing, especially during peak dinner time around 7-8pm. Hopefully has time goes on, they figure out staffing and how to accommodate big crowds, since clearly their food is really good and people want to eat! We ordered the original platter which came with one whole chicken and 2 large sides (rice), and a separate order of four pieces of lamb chops. The food was great and the flavors were on point. I will not give a low rating as it's their first week in business. But I do need to give feedback. Service is extremely slow right now and a lot of people are trying it out. There needs to be better tasting non-spicy options. This place is good but it lends itself to a desi restaurant not traditional peri peri. Most of the menu is too spicy or overly spiced. The burger and rice were super strong in Indian spices and this takes away from the essence of peri peri being African and Portuguese influenced. I have tried Nando's and prefer it because it is less intense on the spices. This place has potential to be amazing if they just focus on catering to the non-spicy crowd (kids, middle easterners, etc.). Have a white rice option, have a beef burger option that isn't spicy. read more

Not a good value. When you get in, it's not clear if you are supposed to order at the counter or from the table. The answer of course is to sit at a table, examine the menu, then when you are ready, go to the counter to order. They then bring the food to your table when it is ready. Chicken is the star of the show. Small portions for high prices. The rice is basmati rice. The corn tastes like it is out of a can and then whipped with mayo. The garlic sauce on the side isn't super flavorful. The chili sauce is hot and spicy. Overall, if this was like half the price, is be ok with it, but it isn't. 2 chicken quarters (leg & thigh), 6 wings, cheese paneer appetizer, rice, and corn and fountain drinks was about $80 after tip.
