I'm not really a morning person. I'm almost never a breakfast person. And when I do wake up before noon, I most definitely don't reach for a bagel first thing in the morning. BUT!! After coming to Posh Bagel, and realizing the cheesy, bread-y goodness I'm missing out on, I would not be opposed to waking up to an eggwich omelette every day for the rest of my life. LOL. I dropped by this place for a quick brunch a few weeks ago! The inside of the place feels very classic ~run-down local business~ though I believe it's a chain. The staff is very friendly, but a few negative points first: There's no A/C and very dimly lit... Tables were sticky even when it was deserted and nobody went out to wipe them down (or maybe they're just perpetually sticky?). Also, we resorted to sitting outside because the store inside is a bit humid... I'm hoping the kitchen is in better condition. Otherwise, it's not any dirtier than a fast food joint, so it's decent. But like I mentioned, the EGGWICH OMELETTE + an asiago bagel = ??? Amazing??? It's suuuper cheesy and the veggies inside are well-seasoned. Surprisingly, the cheese/egg hold the all the fillings together, and it stayed in one piece to the last bite. It's literally a huge omelette in a bagel! Tasty bagels! We didn't order anything fancy, just six bagels to bring home and toast for brunch, but they were chewy and delicious. We used the online order function since COVID-19 is cramping everybody's food game. I really appreciated that the owner called me within minutes of submitting my order to let me know that one type of bagel we had requested was out of stock so we could adjust our order. Love that so much more than walking up to the counter after a 20 minute drive to find out we would have to order something else (ahem, Starbucks Mobile Order, get with the program!). Honestly I love it here. It's a Davis staple, I get it every time I visit my sister here at the UC. I love mom and pop shops and this is one of the most unique in terms of finding a similar spot anywhere else. They have fresh baked bagels, my personal favorites are the spin-off Asiago, bacon cheddar or pesto Asiago. I always upgrade to the egg which and add turkey. You also have the option to get different cream cheese and I have to say I always go for the jalapeño one. My favorite sweet option however is the chocolate chip and strawberry cream cheese. Stopped in for a snack and was impressed that this small spot 2500 miles from Brooklyn has very good bagels. I enjoyed an egg and cheese on an everything. The eggs are cooked by microwave and the cheese gets melty between the hot eggs and the toasted bagel. The seeded has all the seeds and it's very tasty. Sit outside if you like. I was headed to another place for a small breakfast snack but noticed this place in the same shopping center. I entered and there was a line. It is very clear that this is a popular location. They had so many bagels and croissants in a very extensive menu of many different drinks and smoothies. I ordered a chocolate chip cookie a cream cheese croissant and a breakfast sandwich on a croissant that included eggs and sausage. The breakfast sandwich was huge I was only able to eat half and it was very good. The cream cheese bagel with sweet and Delicious it reminded me of a toaster strudel but in a very complementary sort of way. But cookie was a nice size but it was crunchy not soft and I prefer my chocolate chip cookie soft. If I were in the area I would definitely go back. I'm guessing you should prepare for a line. Cool little bagel shop with a good variety of bagels, sandwiches, baked goods and drinks. They also offer a selection of spreads. I got the bagel sandwich with cheddar cheese, bacon and I added garlic herb spread and tomato on an onion bagel. The sandwich was delicious and with each bite I got a taste of everything inside the bagel. The cheese was gooey, the spread was a bit liquified due to the warmth of the egg and bacon and the onion bagel was super fresh and soft. The only problem with sandwich is that it was too big because with each bite the egg, bacon and tomato would slide out of the back of the bagels. So it became a bit of a messy sandwich towards the end. I guess that's a very good problem to have. Grab plenty of napkins though....mmmmk. The bagel sandwich itself is a good size but not worth the $8.44. Maybe if it came with coffee and a piece of fruit it'll be worth it, but not for that price. And I would order this sandwich again and again. This was my second time as Posh Bagel. The first time I went my food was really good. The second time I went (which was today) my food was even better. It just sucks that it's so expensive. My sandwich was 9 dollars. There is a lot of seating inside of the shop, so you won't have a problem finding a table. It's quiet, but there wasn't a lot of people studying there. I'm very glad for the Posh Bagel. There aren't too many bagel options in Davis, but this one is really all you need. The bagels are delicious. I personally love the different cheese bagels that they serve up. The cheddar bagel and asiago bagels are amazing. Just get them toasted up with your favorite spread and you'll be set. If you're hungrier you can get the bagels in sandwich form or as a pizza. The sandwiches have ample amount of things on the inside, and the pizzas really give you that pizza taste and satisfaction. If you're in the mood for pastries, coffee, or even boba... Posh Bagel has it for you too. There is just such a wonderful variety here. My only complaint about Posh Bagel is the environment. It's a very busy place in the mornings and it can get crowded or tables don't get cleaned that quickly. I'd also say the interior dining area could use a bit of a makeover. Slice lox and cream cheese sandwich on a spinach asiago bagel. Sandwiches come with lettuce, tomato, red onions, cucumber, sprouts, pepperoncini, and pickles (on the side). It was one of the best sandwiches I had in a while. I love lox and cream cheese! There were so many vegetables that I didn't feel too guilty eating the whole thing. The bagel itself was really good as well. Warning- The bagel contains poppy seeds, so stay away if you would be taking a drug test. Besides bagels, I noticed that they have cronuts. Pretty bummed out because I was so excited to try out their bagels! I came here after seeing that they've just reopened since covid-19 and I was dying for a bagel sandwich. I got the BLTCC (bacon lettuce tomatoes and cream cheese) on a jalapeño cheddar bagel and it looked so good! It was thick- stuffed with lots of bacon and tomato and cream cheese. It was ALMOST worth the ~$9 for the sandwich HOWEVER, after eating the first half (which was super good I might add) I was so sad to see a hair in the other half. And no, it wasn't just like on top of the bagel sandwich- there sat an eyelash on the lettuce that was sticking on the side of sandwich. I really tried- I picked it out and tried my best not to let that get to me. I slowly ripped out that piece of lettuce like a champ and took a bite around the other side where I thought I was finally in the clear to keep munching away. But.. alas. I saw another eyelash hair stuck on the bottom of the bagel- looking pretty squished in there. That's when I was just done. Like, okay,,, MAYBE one hair I could turn an eye from- BUT TWO? If it weren't for the smears, each bagel was tasteless. Tasteless eggs, tasteless avocados, tasteless ham, tasteless cheddar cheese and watery tuna. With the minor exception of the jalapeno cheddar bagel because the peppers were spicy, but that's about it. There were a lot of people buying bagels and sandwiches. Okay, so I know it's a bagel shop, but seriously, their red velvet muffin is amazing. It's moist and not too sweet. I've been coming at least once a week to get it for myself as a treat. And then today, I went in to grab one for later (as well as a bagel to eat right away), and...I SAW A NEW ONE. They now have pistachio muffins as well folks!! I immediately bought that one, too. So now I have two muffins, but can you ever really have too many muffins?? Oh yeah, and the pistachio is just as fantastic as the red velvet one. I've never seen a pistachio muffin before.
