My wife and I are regulars on the weekend and absolutely love the place. Low key, relaxed and always greeted with a smile. The food is always great ( I live off the Cuban & my wife always gets the chicken & waffles) and we do a good job of raiding the home-baked pastries if there are any left from the morning rush. The food here is good. I am a big fan of the huevos rancheros but the reason I didn't give this 5 stars was the atmosphere. The food is 5 star quality, but the inside of The press is very cold and unfinished looking. The floor is cement. And there is a very odd smell inside. I usually get take out here or wait until its warm enough to sit outside because the food is good, but i just cant stand freezing to death inside. read more

I used to really love this place, especially for their breakfast burritos. My boyfriend used to order their chicken sandwich and I would then get their tuna melt. The food used to be really good until recently for the last couple of years and it just keeps getting worse. I just gave them one last chance today to see if they got any better and they have indeed gotten worse. The tuna melt didn't even have melted cheese, it was completely cold and the bread was soggy and cold as well. I feel like they just through cheese slices and canned tuna with mayo onto microwaved butter bread and then charged over $16 for a really bad sandwich. Their coffee is still decent but not the best and the tomato basil soup which used to be really good with a flavorful kick just tastes flavorless and bland, definitely little to no basil. Not sure what happened but I hope they get their act together because this used to be a really good place. As for now I will be avoiding at all costs. read more

Watch out for the people stepping on your toes as they exit and enter thru the building (also right next to the ordering space). Then, get ready to spar for your table. Limited seating. I had been wanting to try The Press since the change in ownership but my in-laws went without us for breakfast while they were visiting so didn't think I could go that day. After they couldn't stop talking about how amazing the breakfast sandwiches were I told my hubby we had to go the next day. Well our lunch spot was closed so the inlaws agreed to go twice in one day and they still thought the place was amazing! I agree! We had the All American grilled cheese, Smoked Mozzarella, Caprese and artichoke dip. Everything was SO delicious! My 2.5 year old also kept asking for more. Huevos rancheros were underwhelming and soupy, but the potatoes were fantastic and it was the best chicken and waffles to ever grace the inside of my mouth. It has this siracha butter that somehow transforms the dish into the most amazing explosion of flavor and texture despite looking like cheese spread. This place makes me happy! AMAZING baked goods, and a killer egg sandwich! I ordered the egg sandwich on an asiago bagel with chorizo and was blown away. It came with an open-faced presentation (read: double helping of egg scramble) with cream cheese and a wonderful egg scramble. Came by a couple weeks ago to check this place out. I recently moved from Pacifica to Moss Beach so wanted to find some new restaurants. I absolutely LOVED the buratta, tomato and arugula salad! Love this place! Definitely a great neighborhood cafe! I come here all the time, mostly around 5:30am before work to grab a coffee and sometimes a pastry. I love the muffins and there is always fresh hot coffee. The owner has really done a great job in the past year redoing the place, from updating the menu to giving the cafe a total facelift, it's a great little cafe. Every once in a while I'll get a hot breakfast or lunch here on my days off. The breakfast burrito is bomb, as well as the waffles with fruit. I got a panini here once and all of the cheese on it was a bit to rich and greasy for me, but it was well made with quality ingredients. The service can be a little slow, but its a very laid back environment. Awesome gem in here in El Granada! read more

Service was poor, server was unfriendly and the food took forever, then when I went to check it was just sitting on the counter. Food was lukewarm, overpriced, and just not very good. Potatoes were bland and undercooked, omelette very plain and biscuit too dry. Would not come back here again, DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! The chef here must not even be the chef in his/her own home. So mediocre for the price. Not only is the food bad, but the service was so poor- I'm talking a server that was annoyed because I had to ask for silverware twice. DON'T COME HERE! read more

Aweful, after going a few times with mediocre food, we opted to give it one more try today. They delivered the wrong food and when they told them they said they were really busy and it would be a long wait (ridiculous), then discovered another one of the meals was wrong, went to ask for a refund and give them food back and they were rude and refused. The food is mediocre, the place is dirty, service poor and rude. Overall a horrible experience. Guarantee they will be out of business within 12 months. We will be sharing our experience across all social media outlets. Places like this don't deserve to exist. read more

I thought that this place was going to be open for dinner. When I walked in at closing I was not treated very nicely. My mistake but I met the owner when this (unnamed at the time) restaurant was opening last fall. He hyped his "new concepts" including "gourmet grilled cheese" and "dinner hours". I liked this place! Came here when the Barn was unexpected closed for the holiday. Super friendly staff. My little girl got sick and they were so helpful and nice. Her sickness kind of spoiled our lunch, but everything looked great and we were able to take a few bites before we all had to leave. The tomato soup was good, grilled cheese was good, fries good. Next time I would skip the artichoke dip. Yuck. However, I don't really like how you have to go through the kitchen to get to the bathroom. As we did that, we walked past boxes and meats as a delivery had just recently come through. I was sad to see frozen fries, yucky meats wrapped in plastic....it just seems like nothing they make here is actually homemade. All frozen. That was kind of a bummer. Met a friend for breakfast today. Ordered basic scrambled eggs, bacon, potatoes, biscuit. Eggs were horrible. Looked like they started out as fried eggs, then realized it needed to be scrambled. Everything else on the plate was good. Tight seating areas, but they left us alone while we visited for 2 hours, so a third star was given to this review. read more

A group of us went to the Press this past weekend when we were visiting Half Moon Bay. They have the best huevos rancheros I have ever had!! The prices are reasonable and the staff is really friendly. The only complaint I have is that the atmosphere in the inside of the restaurant is a bit cold. It could be made to feel warmer and cozy with some wood flooring instead of concrete. I would still recommend since the food is really good! read more
