Cute little restaurant in downtown Pleasanton. We came around 9:30 on a Sunday morning and were seated right away on the patio out front. The oat milk latte had a weird sweet aftertaste (did not order any syrups). It didn't hit the spot caffeine wise either. To eat, I ordered the William's breakfast pot. It was HUGE. Two people could definitely share this. I loved the bits of bacon and the scrambled eggs on top were pretty good. The potatoes inside tasted a little sweet and earthy, which didn't sit well with me. Rounding up from 3.5 stars When we previously visited Nonnis for brunch, I noticed they had mussels and frites on the menu, and I pledged to return for those. This visit, I ordered the mussels and frites, along with an einstok white ale, which went very well with my lunch. I would have preferred some kind of Belgian brew, but there was nothing available. The mussels were in a thin broth, and the frites came with a tasty aioli. There was so much broth left over that I asked for some bread, but all they had was sourdough toast which really didn't work well when soaked in broth. They should have some kind of crusty bread available with this dish. Still, everything was cooked well, and the broth had an excellent flavor. I sat on the side of the building, on a Saturday afternoon just after midday. It was fun to watch the Pleasanton passers-by. read more

Then came some French onion soup, with a veggie sandwich, some fries to boot. 2 orders of the beef stroganoff & the wild mushroom ravioli. The ravioli were heavenly, the beef stroganoff was delicious via the consumers & the French onion soup smelled spectacular. Service was on point, from being seated, ordering the food to the wait staff who bring out the food, all executed timely. The ambiance is homey, small restaurant. A friend and I actually had plans to go somewhere else down the street but when we arrived, they were closed for an inspection. My friend spotted Nonni's and said "this spot looks cozy" so we went with her intuition and gave it a try. It was around 2 PM on a Friday and we were seated immediately. The place was small and cozy, but very welcoming and comfortable. It was clean and bright. The staff were very quick to attend to us and very friendly. Dining here was very reminiscent of how dining out used to be...no app, small but attentive wait staff, family owned/run type of vibe. We really enjoyed the food. It's the menu is all around American dining. We were served fresh baked rosemary dinner rolls with butter to start off - they were warm and chewy and delicious! We decided to split the cheeseburger with a side of French onion, soup, and the fish hot pot. We also ordered a side of fries. The food arrived quickly and was hot. The burger was really good. We ordered it medium well and I would say it came more on the well done side as there was no pink. It was served a very soft ciabatta and the mayonnaise/sauce was tasty but not overpowering. We went for a simple, traditional cheeseburger with cheddar and nothing fancy, no extras. The Fish hot pot was good, but I wasn't that excited that they used salmon as the fish of the day. I think it would've been better with a delicate whitefish, but overall it was a comfort dish on a cold, rainy day. The tomato broth was prepared and seasoned well. The French onion soup was good too and their fries were pretty addicting! All in all I would recommend this spot for some good comforting bites. I got a chance to visit Nonni's on Main Street in Pleasanton again last night before a show. What a pleasant Street we arrive without a reservation and we're quick seated on a Friday night Ban our server got out some grilled oysters first and then I had a salad as well as the lamb chops. Came on a Sunday so we thought it would be a bit of a wait but we were sat right away. The service was fine not great not bad. They have a great bottomless mimosas and they are bigger glasses for bottomless than the regular mimosas. We tried the Benedict's and they were fine nothing special. Fruit was good and fresh so that was nice. I came for the bourbon French toast and was disappointed I expected tons of flavor but they were just ok the syrup helped a bit but I was looking for more flavor after reading the description. It is pretty busy and it can get noisy as the tables inside are a bit closer together. It's a smaller space inside. The price to me for the food and taste was just not worth it. Stopped by downtown Pleasanton during "Weekends on Main" street fest, the road closed to vehicles creating a lovely and inviting atmosphere filled with adorable shops and eateries. Among this is Nonni's Bistro which was by far the most captivating establishment on the block this past Sunday. Gunhild Carling was performing live music during dinner time, that could be heard from afar, unique renditions of songs like Hello Dolly! as well as her classic march through the crowd with band members playing their instruments to the tune of When the Saints Go Marching In. The seating here is a bit tight, but they made it work. The musicians actually walked out into the street (Main Street closed to traffic for the street fest), and still squeezed themselves through the tables inside. She even took song requests from guests. I say it time and time again, Gunhild Carling is a remarkable performer, and I never get tired of her shows. Plus I think she performs at Nonni's regularly, her beautiful artwork is even displayed on the wall. No surprise, it was a full house both inside and outdoors when I came by this past weekend for dinner. I sat at the bar (it's small with only four seats), and the restaurant had its storefront windows opened up so guests could enjoy the live entertainment from inside too. Service was great as well. Staff was friendly and accommodating, and there were ample employees running around helping customers. I didn't encounter any unreasonable wait times, even with how busy the place was. For food, I ordered the croque madam with french onion soup as the side. The soup was delish, with the sweetness of caramelized onions in the savory broth, combined with the nutty flavor from the melted layer of cheese on top, it was yummy. The sandwich was even better, large in size, filled with thick slices of ham and lots of melted cheese, a runny egg on top, and flavorful toast that somehow stayed crisp on the bottom through my entire meal, with the taste of crispy cheese at the edges. 2.5 Stars The service and the interior of the restaurant were great! Our waiter was very nice, attentive, and helpful, answering all our questions about the menu. The food however, was very disappointing. With the price point and high quality energy of the restaurant we expected the food to be much better. First the bread and butter. While shaped like a beautiful rose, the butter was quite hard and difficult to spread. The rolls were warm and soft but not as flavorful as I would have expected. We got the baked oysters to start, and they were the worst thing about the meal by far. Once you finished the delicious toasted cheese on top, the oyster tasted like feet. They were wayy too fishy, and seemed quite old. For dinner I ordered the Penne Pasta, which came hot but lacked any real flavor outside of the basic tomato sauce. The parm did not melt at all into the pasta, and I could have done better by grating my own at home. My partner got the lamb. Which originally caused confusion, as we had two different prices for it on our menus. His stated it was $26 while mine had it at $49. With these vastly different prices we asked the waiter, who informed us that the more expensive price was the new "lamb chops" while his was the old "lamb patty." They were able to give him the original version which we appreciated. The lamb was a bit overcooked but otherwise he enjoyed his meal. The drinks were delicious, and they had a wide variety to choose from! With the cost of the meal, the food did not measure up. However, the waiter and the drinks were great! read more

Food was just Okay. Ordered the Lox and bagels. Salmon was below average. Was served in a way that hid all dark fish. No flavor. It was so unappealing I couldn't eat it. When asked if I wanted a box I said no and that the fish was not good the waiter totally ignored the comment and just cleared the plates. We had to flag down a young man to get him to get our check because our waiter was no where to be found. It's a very small place so not sure where he went?? Very disappointing. This restaurant is very unique in it setting. The restaurant has an inside dining that feels like you are eating outdoors. The front windows fully open. They also have outside dining. Pleasanton has many great restaurants. This is one we have forgotten about and decided we need to reintroduce Nonni's into our restaurants that we frequent often. The food was delicious, the very friendly and very professional, the owner was very welcoming and the live music was excellent. Live music are on Fridays and Sunday evenings. We were with a large group (10 people) and the service was perfect. They were totally on it from the minute we arrived. We shared some tasty appetizers, had wine and some great cocktails. One small odd thing was the music which was very eclectic (a Spotify playlist maybe?) but songs would change abruptly. Small thing. More importantly, the food was fantastic. I had a white fish (that I'd never heard of...similar to a branzino maybe?) that was perfectly prepared and had me practically licking the plate. Came here after the Pleasanton Run for Education! Gotta say the ambiance was nice. Very cute interior. Service was very quick but with that being said, we were rushed. They took us as a "walk-in" but let us know we only had about 1 hour and 20 minutes to dine. So I did feel like I couldn't really enjoy my time with friends. It was 100 degrees outside. By the time I parked and walked a few blocks to the restaurant, I was hot and needed some water. It was 12:30 and the place was hopping. The tables inside are placed pretty close to each other. I actually could not get into my chair as there was someone right behind me so we had to move the table over. Our kind server brought us small glasses of ice water and left us a carafe of water with mint inside. It was refreshing and hit the spot. The menu is large and varied with breakfast items like pancakes, french toast, omelettes, benedicts as well as some healthy alternatives. We both ordered the chiccone (chicken) sandwich with no onions. It's a grilled chicken breast with roasted red peppers, onions and jack cheese on a ciabatta bun. You have a choice of fries, salad or soup and we both decided on the salad with their basil vinaigrette. The greens were fresh and crisp and the vinaigrette was delicious and light. We expected the restaurant to be busy since it was a Saturday and a short distance from the Farmer's Market. We had a very pleasant meal even though people were bustling around us. The ambiance, the service, the food, all of it was top notch! We had great service from beginning to end of our dinner. The service was impeccable and friendly, and the whole place is very classy and welcoming. We sat outside and had heaters above us and they offered us blankets if we got cold. We picked out a very good Cab Franc from Steven Kent, and it was excellent and went well with our beef stroganoff. The best part of the dinner was the house salad! It had an amazing dressing on it. We met the owner and he was so friendly and welcoming and gave us a gift at the end of our dinner, the amazing salad dressing! We will go back for sure and try out other things on the menu. The great staff and food definitely deserve 5+ stars while I was very tempted to give only two stars because of the environment while we ate with our friends on 2026/04/18. INTENSELY loud music from a high school musical group that evening made it a very unpleasant social night. We had to shout at each other just to be heard while parents outside cheered their kids (which were very good BTW) caring nothing for the patrons trying to have a nice evening with friends. The musicians were very talented but WAY too loud and the windows wide open while we attempted to eat inside. Even our waiter and the owner seemed irritated by the noise. We took their advice and it did not disappoint! Our party's order consisted of the Curried Egg Salad, Filetto, and SBLT sandwiches. D.E.L.I.C.I.O.U.S.!!! Was in town visiting and went to the farmers market downtown. After grabbing a few groceries it was time to eat! This whole block is filled with restaurants/cafes it was so hard to choose. We ended up deciding on Nonni's just based off of reviews and how many stars it had on here. The inside was cute and the staff was friendly for sure, made sure to answer any questions we had about the menu. The food was decent, might just not have been my cup of tea. I ordered the Spanish omelette, though it wasn't giving "omelette". It was more so all the cooked fillings were hiding under a thick blanket layer of egg (rather than like inside a pocket like a normal omelette) flavors were good though, nothing here was nasty. Just didn't blow my mind how the reviews said it would. My partner ordered the cheese blintzes and she liked them.
