Was looking for a place to watch the NBA playoffs and found this hidden gem. Great service, sat at the bar. I love the sun roof which makes it seem very open and one of the nicer sports bars I have been to. Nachos were fire, got it with steak. Would recommend and will go again.

The fitout post-renovation is seriously nice. Great viewing angles to the screens, nice lighting, comfortable seating. I ordered a burger, and it was quite tasty (good sauce, good vegetables), although the surcharge for adding a second patty was pretty extreme. Chips were very nicely done too.

The Pro is that new bar on the block where it can be your wings and beer joint or whether you enjoy a sophisticated, high-energy sanctuary for sports fans who appreciate the finer things and drinks too. Since they're new on the block, I will definitely be back for an update and see if they'll be a home run for downtown Palo Alto :) Food: I ordered a few items to get a taste of their menu and it definitely didn't disappoint. You can get your wings and fries here but they also offer nicer items with a twist! (See photos) Service: Sat at the bar and there's no doubt you'll be taken care of by one of their amazing bartenders. Andrew and Bora were awesome to chat to and are knowledgeable about what kind of cocktails you should try! Ambiance: I came in on a Monday night and they were doing trivia! Super chill and can get competitive as the bar team was also participating so it was a really fun experience for my first time! Definitely will be coming back to enjoy a round!

I grew up in Palo Alto, and the Old Pro was always a constant for me. From family dinners to high school reunions to countless afternoons watching games. It holds a lot of memories. The new Pro is nice. The remodel is well done and the space feels fresh and updated. I do miss the old U-shaped bar where you could see and chat with people across from you. But overall they did a really nice job. We only had drinks this visit, so I can't speak to the food yet. The cocktails are definitely on the pricey side, but they're creative and fun. My friend ordered a cosmo that came with a bubble of citrus smoke on top, which was a fun touch. I had a dirty Shirley (with three cherries, appreciated!), and we finished with espresso martinis topped with gold flakes. The drinks were good, just be prepared for the $$$. One thing to note: from 3-5pm they only serve a very limited menu. With sports on all day, it would be nice to be able to order full menu items during that window. Hopefully that's temporary, but it's worth knowing if you're hoping for a full meal mid-afternoon. We'll definitely be back to try the food.

Quick take: Banh Mi French Dip The jalapeños inside the sandwich were fire hot spicy. Removed some of it while my lips were burning. Lol The dipping broth was way too salty. Sandwich was ok. The side of fries were very good. The no meat nachos were good. My mocktail drink was good. Came in for HH. The place filled up fast. The place is newly renovated. Service was good. Dropped off a little bit when it got bus

Chill spot. High end bar-type/ American food. Good with a cold beer. Kinda pricey. Be aware there's a 20% automatic gratuity AND a 5% employee fee BS too. Crazy how restaurants just keep tacking on more fees to go out.

I had such a great time here! It resembled The Old Pro, but felt much more clean, renovated, and spacious. The bull is even still there, but he's "retired" (not rideable anymore). You can order samples of beers and ciders, and you can easily modify menu items to fit your dietary restriction. I loved the battered fries. The service was also so efficient with very friendly waitstaff. I can't wait to go back! Food: 8/10 Drinks: 10/10 Service: 10/10 Ambiance: 9/10 Vegan-friendly: 8/10

Went on the pre opening night and what a success. Food was delicious, the place is redone super well and service was great and fast. It's going to be the IT place in the Peninsula. Just the right amount of TV so you are in a sports bar but it's not cheesy. High class cocktail and other drinks. Highly recommend.

    Chicken Parmesan sandwich was amazing!

Nice Sport bar in Palo Alto, the interior was clean and well maintained. Our server Alan was very helpful. Drinks were good, food was great.

Smoking sazerac! Oh my, prepare to be impressed! Only few bucks more than a craft beer?

So much to love here! I was an old Pro fan back when it was around and oh boy! They transformed the interior in a way that pays homage to the OP and turns a page to what it is now. I saw sports fans, former Stanford alums, locals, families, it was nice to see! We did not eat but the cocktails were on the higher scale $ yet very tasty! My only minus here is - beer pricing - what in the world!? $12 bones for a draft that costs them a couple bucks to pour - mmm, nah gonna buy a beer & that sucks as it's the Pro! In my opinion a pricey brew is $9, a great price is $7, and an acceptable price based is around $8. They have one Old Pro beer for $6 and you bet I had that! I had a couple cocktails and that's where this place shines! The Sazerac, Espresso Martini and Old Fashioned are exquisite and worth it based on both taste and presentation. Enjoy the Pro but please wake up and smell the brewery- ease up on the 12 buck beer!

The Pro is a relatively new sports bar in downtown Palo Alto with a nice clean, elevated vibe. Service from Nora was kind and attentive. The sausage (made in-house) on the pizza was quite flavorful; the pizza was delicious--I would order it again--though the crust in the middle was slightly soggy /wet. The grilled salmon didn't stand out. Pork Belly Banh Mi with pho dipping sauce was delightful! The bread was a little thick, but it was delicious nonetheless. We will be back for Trivia Night!

Food / Drink 5 Service 4…read more Ambiance 5 I don't understand these reviews. This is a pub, pure and simple. It's an excellent pub at that. Pre-pandemic I worked in downtown Palo Alto. I and others on my team were regulars here. Food: TBH, it's all about the deviled eggs. The menu is tiny, and traditional pub fair. They aren't trying to be fancy and they aren't trying to earn any Michelin stars. They're delivering exactly what you should come to expect here and places like it. I respect any place that pours a proper pint. They also have a fine selection of bourbon, whiskey, and scotch. This is not the place for mixologists and craft cocktails. This is the place for people who know what they want to drink and actually enjoy the alcohol. Service: I was there around 4:30 - 5 o'clock and there were only a couple people at the bar. It looked like it could have been a shift change. Clearly the bartenders knew regulars. However, they didn't seem to be very interested in chatting up any new customers. My guess is they did not build this regular clientele, but rather inherited it. I grew up in the industry and was behind the bar for about 12 years. Yes, I learned all the fancy drinks and had an amazing cadre of condiments including those fancy little umbrellas. This is the kind of place where I would prefer to work myself. The kind of place where community comes together and good bartenders remind us all that pubs have long been in the business of solving the loneliness crisis and building friendships.

We also ordered the large chicken tikka pizza, palak paneer pizza, and the lamb kebab pizza. The lamb kebab was a bit on the drier side. The palak paneer was a bit spicy and very yummy. The chicken tikka was the best and continues to be my favorite! The atmosphere is good for a group. Love the open wall situation to let in fresh air and give good ambience. The bar is a nice touch in a place like this. It's great to have half tables/booths and half high tops to give the casual vibe that matches their menu perfectly. Trophies, little league decor on the walls, arcade games, a pool table, its very nostalgic. There's also a nice outdoor patio if you want fresh air. They hand you one of those buzzer things that goes off when your order's ready. Wait time wasn't bad at all. We ordered a 9-inch pizza, a burger, chicken tenders, and a French dip. The food was solid, but nothing crazy. The pizza came out nuclear hot, almost burnt myself haha. The burger was pretty plain. The tenders were decent. The French dip was probably the standout, actually pretty fire. Overall, the food is fine, not bad, just kind of mid. This place is more about the vibe than the cuisine. Back in the day, it was very "Ralph Lauren." My family remembers it fondly. My partner is not from around here, and this seemed like the perfect old school venue to take him to experience the Original Menlo Park, pre-tech boom. He and I came in on a Tuesday evening for dinner, and the place was virtually deserted. We were one of only three tables in the house. Food: 8 out of 10 We ordered the Peach and Arugula Salad, the Pork Chop and the Mushroom Pasta, all of which was delicious, and we thoroughly enjoyed it everything. Service: 5 out of 10 Our waiter was great, we enjoyed having her, however some aspects of the service from other wait staff were odd, especially given that there were less than 6 people in the whole restaurant. For example, they brought us the wrong bottle of wine, and it took us a while to figure out they'd brought us a Riesling (not what we asked for). Wine cooler had no ice in it. But they did make up for the mistake appropriately, bringing us the correct wine promptly. Ambiance: 1 out of 10. I was shocked to discover that the interior had been entirely gutted over a decade ago, and in such a manner that the windows and other period details that give the space character are obscured. The interior looks so vacuous and open that it is now the antithesis of cozy. I joked to my partner, an architect, who also didn't understand what they were trying to achieve in the remodel, that it feels more like a hangar for parking the Millennium Falcon than a restaurant. The ultra-modern, cold, utilitarian design is weirdly cafeteria-esque, although the view of the glassed in kitchen was nice enough. The second story feels like a warehouse, although the rooftop bar, which is only open on Fridays and weekends, looked perfectly okay. It's just so sad that this was done to the BBC. Everything that made it special is either gone or being covered up or poorly utilized. I would have loved to be able to see out the stained glass windows! If the owners wanted a generic ultra modern space, why not buy one? So many already exist. Why butcher a beautiful old building in this way? Just awful. The exterior is still lovely, so I'm giving it one star for that.
