Hands down during our visit our best meal was served by The Promiscuous Fork in La Jolla. The ambiance and service is extremely laid back making this a place for everyone to come, converse, and experience well crafted food. I can't even explain how delicious and layered my Veggie bowl was; the rice had a green sauce that gave the rice a velvety texture and the veggies were crispy, not overly charred, or stemmed. I wish The Promiscuous Fork would do me the greatest favor and just add location in Seattle that would be forever happy. Until then I will keep finding reasons to plan trips to La Jolla so I can have dinner at The Promiscuous Fork; I highly recommend!

We ate outside with the pooch and enjoyed wonderful service with a smile. Blood Orange beer is refreshing with the tacos. The inside ambience is beach taco shop as it should be and it delivers mouth popping flavors

Food was good! Prices are fair, especially for La Jolla. We felt a little awkward with the service, I think it was because we were the only two inside but it kinda felt like we were a bother to the staff. I really enjoyed my burger and took half to go. I wanted seafood since we were by the water but some of the menu combinations were a bit odd for my taste. Seems like they had regulars that were coming and going so that's a good sign of a promising spot!

We came hungry and we left utterly satisfied. This is my kinda food. If I lived in La Jolla, I'd be here weekly and I'd try everything on the menu. Can't go wrong. Nutrient dense options, distinct flavors, well executed and beautifully plated. Tried the following: Salmon bowl Beetnick salad w/ delicious lemon basil dressing Crispy Brussels sprouts La Jolla Plate Recommend it all! Service was great, too. I wanted a traditional NA kombucha. They don't serve that, but she suggested I could go next door to the convenience store that sold what I was looking for and she approved me bringing that to the table. Kind customer service. We ate outdoors and enjoyed the small parklet and fresh air. I'll be dreaming of my next visit. What a gem of an eatery.

Fresh product, great flavor. Hidden gem when the air is refreshing and clean to the senses.

My wife and I came here to try the food based on some of the pictures and reviews that we had seen. I tried the poke bowl and she had the yuck mouth burger. Neither blew us away. The rice was hot with the poke bowl, which caused the poke to be warmer than you would normally want. They had a pretty good taste, but wasn't one of the better Poké bowls I've ever had. The burger had a pretty good flavor, but was a little lackluster. We liked that they fry their fries in beef, tallow, and pretty decent.

After a long day of travel, we picked up dinner here to bring back to our hotel room. The space is small but so cozy and uplifting. The owner answered all my questions and helped me decide on menu items and they did not disappoint. Their poke bowl was refreshing and comforting at the same time. One of the best things I had on my trip. My kids inhaled the Mac and cheese and loved it. Would definitely come back again to try more menu items.

Found this place when we were checking out a nearby coffee shop.. Good juicy burger and fries fried in beef tallow.. Great friendly service Unassuming spot with casual indoor and outdoor dining

When I tell you I dream about this place I mean it. Everything is incredibly tasty and fresh. The service is top tier and the ambiance is great. I love their blackened salmon bowl. Will forever be my favorite meal in SD!

Ambiance in the inside of this place was amazing! The decor was like a little snip in Hawaii with beautiful paintings. The woman who took our order was well-versed in the menu and what would fulfill our cravings. She was super sweet as well! It was a little pricey though. The fries were nothing out of the ordinary. We also got: The Notorious P.I.G.: Super savory and the pork belly was juicy and tender! Would definitely get again! Best Fork'n Chicken Sandwich: Super good and I loved the pesto sauce that it came with!

Excellent example of little hole-in-wall with helpful, friendly service and fantastic food. Nice little tap selection. Of every place we've eaten in La Jolla, this was The One we'd return to! When local patrons sing praises to you upon entering, it's great.

    Shena R.

I ordered the shortrib mac and cheese and IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT!! The meat was moist and seasoned well and the cheese wasn't so gooey that it wasn't enjoyable. It was delicious and although I felt it could've been priced lower for a place that you order at a counter, it was a good experience. There is plenty of free parking and only blocks away from a quiet beach.

Yuck Mouth burger with garlic Parmesan fries
    Kelly Y.

We were in the area and stumbled on this place. Parking was easy but very tight or there's street parking. I ordered the yuck mouth; it was delicious with the bun on the sweet side. It's called yuck mouth for a reason, keep that in mind if you are going out after or you are on a date. It's a small place but they do have outdoor seating which is nice and service was great.

Tasty food and good selection of beer and wines. Not much in the way of ambience (that's the reason for 4 stars).

First, while we were waiting for our table, we were told that the coffee near the check-in area was complimentary while we waited. When we were seated, we brought our coffee cups with us, only to find out later that we had been charged $5 each for our coffees. We didn't say anything, but it definitely didn't leave the best taste in our mouths. So double check your bill if you pick up a free coffee while waiting for your table. One of my favorite meals here is the risotto Benedict. It was still good, but unfortunately, it didn't taste quite as good as it normally does. After we left, my stomach was very upset, and I ended up having to make an emergency stop at the La Jolla Shores bathrooms before heading home. Our waiter was also a little slow. It took quite a while for our water to give us water after a long walk on the beach and then our bill took forever as well. On top of that, the waiter commented "Impressive" because I had finished my entire plate. I had been fasting for 24 hours, but regardless, I don't think commenting on how much a customer eats is really appropriate. It was just a little strange. Anyway, just a heads-up. I'm sure I'll come back, and hopefully everything will be back to normal and great as usual!

The covered outdoor patio was the perfect spot for me and my friends to bask in the San Diego sunshine and enjoy some good food! I ordered the Angus Short Rib Hash Brown Potato Cakes with Braised Beef 7/10. Unfortunately, I wasn't wowed by this dish. It definitely lacked a bit of flavor. My wife ordered the Caramelized Tahitian Vanilla Bean French Toast 10/10! Now this is a dish worth trying! The Tahitian Vanilla Bean- chefs kiss! But the real highlight for me was the Lilikoi Mai Tai 11/10! This tropical cocktail featured a classic rum base topped with a distinct, tart-sweet honey-liliko'i (passion fruit) foam. It was an absolute gem of a drink! I didn't think anyone could replicate the famous Monkeypod recipe! Shorehouse just did!!!

The views alone make this place worth visiting - you're literally facing the ocean, with a nice breeze coming through. It's such a relaxing spot to start the day. Our food came out incredibly fast. We ordered the steak and cheese eggs, the chilaquiles, the bacon cheddar omelet, and of course the French toast - everything was so good, but that French toast deserves its own shout-out. Soft, flavorful, and just the right amount of sweetness. Parking can be a bit of a hassle, but there's 2-hour street parking around the area if you circle a bit. Once you're seated with that ocean view, it's totally worth it. Definitely a must-visit for breakfast or lunch if you're in La Jolla. Great food, great service, and incredible views.

Please stay away, the food was unacceptable, especially for the price. I had the fish and chips. The fries tasted old, as if they had been reheated from the day before. The fish was overly battered, had no flavor, and was completely tasteless. I ate a small piece of fish and a couple of fries, but I had to stop eating because it was honestly gross. My husband ordered the steak frites and received the same fries as I did. The steak had a strange taste, and the "chimichurri"-type sauce was inedible. My husband also stopped eating his food. We let our server know that the food was not good. He asked what was wrong and then asked my husband if he had ever had Gorgonzola cheese before. I'm not sure how that was relevant, considering we had simply explained that the food did not taste good. I told the server that we were sorry we couldn't eat the food and that we were happy to pay for our drinks and appetizer, which we did. For a restaurant that charges a significant amount of money for mediocre food, you would think a manager would come to the table and ask why two guests returned their meals after barely eating them. Unfortunately, it was clear that customer satisfaction was not a priority. Very disappointing experience. There are plenty of better options where your money will be much better spent. Puesto! around the corner is one.

The quote "Cooking is my soul's desire, eating is my heart's calling" catches your eye on the north wall. One of my friend's and I decided to order 2 entrees and split them - the Spicy Shakshuka Sunrise Skillet (2 eggs poached with fire-roasted tomatoes, onion, bell pepper, fresno pepper, cilantro, yellow onion, feta, harissa, cumin, chili flakes, and sourdough bread) and the Windansea Breakfast Bagel (with scrambled egg whites, Irish cheddar, sauteed garlic spinach, and avocado on a Big City everything bagel). That was a smart call because both were amazing and re-orderable. The shakshuka was flavorful but not intolerable spicy hot. The bagel made the sammich. All was washed down with a Cafe Viennese (coffee with honey, cinnamon, and vanilla, a great sub for my usual Cinnamon Dolce Latte from Starbies).
