Second time I ate half so I could go see sunset. We stayed at Airbnb so I had second half next morning from breakfast. So much bacon! Draft beers good too! Due to COVID19 all the eating is outside in the parking lot on high tables and bar stool. Totally relaxed. The burgers were some of the best we have ever had. We've been coming here for years. The food is always amazing and I've never got anything I didn't love. I highly recommend the blackened salmon. I want to point something out though that happened on our last visit...which I did NOT appreciate. Since Covid, they have started outside seating taking over several parking spots. There is another restaurant right next door, who don't have the luxury of taking over the parking lot. I went there one night with my husband, mom, and 2 children. We reviewed the menu (on paper) before arriving to determine what everyone wanted. My sons are 11 & 5. They don't have a kids menu on their paper menu, nothing for kids, and their prices are fairly expensive (you don't want to get a 5 year old anything from this menu unless you are willing to spend a lot of money on a meal they will hardly eat) so I told my 5-year old he could get a taco next door ($5). We went inside to order our food, including alcohol drinks for the 3 adults. In total, we spent well over $150 for the 6 drinks and 4 adult meals. We sat at the table outside for a while (getting drinks while we wait) and then I later ordered my little guys $5 taco next door. The taco came so sat with us to eat. No later than 5 minutes go by and the girl working there told us kindly that my 5 year old could not sit there. I was pretty irritated and asked why, I said "you are kidding me, right? He's 5, you have no kids menu on your paper menu that we had access to, we've spent way over $150 on all this and we can't stay?" She felt terrible and said she was really sorry but "THE OWNER OF THE RESTAURANT WATCHES CUSTOMERS ON CAMERA AND CALLED ME TO MAKE HIM LEAVE!" She said she was really sorry but the reason is because they "are responsible if he gets sick" which I know is just a big lie/excuse. The owner of this place seems like a real prick, and I want to know why their restaurant has the right to take over parking spots and the restaurant next door does not? We had to quickly get our food to go and leave. I lost a ton of respect for that place that day. Not on the employees who are working but the jerk owner who sits back at home and spy's on his employees & customers. Again, I'll give credit where earned, the food is amazing but you should really give your customers some grace and chill out. A $5 taco vs. $150, isn't a threat to your business! read more

Upon recommendation from a friend for a "casual but tasty" restaurant, I decided to grab dinner here. It looked like a fusion bbq and burger spot, so my inner foodie was pushing me order bbq, but the salmon looked ridiculously good, and against my gut instinct, I went for the salmon...and boy was I thrilled with my choice. The salmon was so tasty, blackened on the outside with the subtle char, soft and moist on the inside that it literally falls apart with the gentle prodding of my fork. It also comes along with a coconut jalapeno rice, which was so fluffly and flavorful: so much more tastier than regular rice, and pico de gallo. The whole combo reminded me of a deconstructed fish burrito. Heathy and tasty! Can't beat that! Note: parking is a bit of a challenge because it is one-way drive in only and the lot is super narrow, so be careful if you have a big car! read more

EASY & TASTY At first, we thought this was going to be a sit down restaurant style. But it's a little indoor place that gives very open & chill vibes. There's outdoor seating as well with heaters. We chose to sit inside & there is a lot of options on their menu. I got the June Gloom Burger & my bf got the surf & turf sandwich. Both tasted amazing & the coconut rice tasted decent. The macaroni salad my bf got was good. It wasn't too creamy of a macaroni salad and my bf liked that about it (his preference) Their menu had so much I wanted to try so we will be back! The salmon bowl and fried rice wasn't special and was overpriced for what it is, would not recommend. The quesadilla and wings are on point though! Came here on a Friday night with my husband while our daughter had a volleyball tournament up the street at the high school. It was packed when we came in and so I got the food to go thinking I wouldn't be able to find a spot to sit. By the time the food was ready (30 minutes later - no problem they were busy) there were seats available. As opposed to being rude and just sitting there eating I asked the lady would it be okay to sit there and eat it as there are spaces now when I thought there wouldn't be. Very rudely she said "we prefer to not waste to go boxes but ok". I told her we would just leave then. As we did. I'm not going to sit there and be glared at by a nasty waitress. Amazing to pay $50 for a sandwich and 2 tacos with a 20% tip that we graciously gave, to then get shamed for wasting a to go box. The sandwich was blah and tasted wholly of balsamic vinegar, husband's tacos were alright.. but the rude service and all too pervasive snotty attitude of so many people nowadays leaves a lot to be desired. We grabbed dinner here with a couple of friends this past week. Overall ambiance is super casual, bar like setting. The seating is very limited, maybe fitting 20-22 people max. No AC or bathrooms. There is a small parking lot shared by other stores in the complex. There's also street parking. Not the best place to come with a group. It's ideal for 2 people or to-go. Now what saves this place is the food. The favorites for the evening were the lamp lollipops with coconut rice $19 and yuck-mouth burger (garlic patty with garlic spread) with potato wedges $12. Both were well cooked, tasty and came out within a reasonable time. I'd say the prices are on the higher side for the amount of food you get though. If you just want good food, it's worth it to stop by. But this is not the ideal place to hang out with friends given the limited seating area. read more

Soooo good! Went to San Diego as a little side trip for a recent work trip to Brea recently and found this gem on Yelp of course! Not only was the drive over a gorgeous one, but this little place has some of the absolute best food I have had in a very long time! Do yourself a favor, get the yuck mouth burger. The menu will have you believe that it's so garlicky you will be overwhelmed but it turns out that it was so perfect that we ended up going back to the counter and getting ourselves a second one as it was so delicious and perfectly balanced with the sauce, butter and garlic in the patty! Now, my love of the yuck mouth burger does not mean the rest of our order was any less stellar! The lamb lollipops were absolutely tender and seasoned to perfection. Cooked perfectly and the rice with the coconut was fantastic too. We also had to try the beef short rib tacos which were also perfectly seasoned with just a little kick and sooooo flavorful. Same coconut rice on the side and everything is cooked to perfection. As far as atmosphere goes this is a very small place with tall barstools to sit on and long communal style tables which makes it nice for meeting other groups of eaters. It's a social place and the staff is extremely friendly and very knowledgeable about the food and gives excellent service. All around 5 stars. We will be back! read more

This place is relatively small and seating is pretty limited. Upon entering the restaurant, there's a large glass window on the right and you can see the cooks making all that deliciousness. You wait in line, order & pay the cashier and then eat your food, bumping elbows with other patrons. The restaurant is so small - probably the size of an apartment living room. What we ordered: Surf & Turf Grilled Cheese - ooey gooey but a little overwhelming with the different flavors. I liked the pastrami and the cheese but I think the crab made it a little weird. 3 stars. The best forkin' chicken sandwich - fantastic flavors. I loved how the chicken was grilled and had a slight charred (but not burnt) flavor. The chicken was moist, too. 4 stars. Mac salad - average. Nothing to write home about. 2 stars. Jalapeno coconut rice - wasn't a fan. 2 stars. Beer selection - above average. Banquet Beer and PBR available by the can!! I want to come back and try a burger, the pork quesadillas, and the lamb lollipops. Everyone else's food looked pretty delicious. Very casual food stand but the food is as good as it gets!! We came by for a quick dinner. Its located in a nondescript strip mall so didn't know what to make of it as we drove in. Simply based on reviews we ordered the lamp lollipop, grilled chicken, sliders and a burger. Everything was great! The lamb was tender and flavorful. An order comes with 4 chops and the jalapeño coconut rice. The grilled chicken was a piece of dark meat served with the jalapeño coconut rice and mac salad. The only knock on it is the portion but it was delicious. The boys loved their burger and sliders. They even loved the bun. The place is small. You order at the counter and seating is all counter style and very limited. You can see into the kitchen through a clear glass window. I had the pleasure of going here with my friend before he moved away to SF. He went for the Yuck Mouth burger ($8) and I the Best Fork'n Chicken Sandwich Ever ($8.50). Yes, that's what it's called, peeps. It was a Wednesday at around 3pm and seating wasn't too great. They have really limited seating so plan for that. It might be better to take it to-go. The Yuck Mouth is a garlic lover's dream as the bun is slathered with a generous heap of their garlic spread and the meat patty itself is also infused with garlicky goodness. I'm not a burger person, but the burger came out really juicy. My friend loved it and he's convinced we have to go again when he comes back to SD to visit. As for the best fork'n chicken sandwich ever... YUM! The chicken was cooked to perfection. Super juicy and full of flavor. I was only able to finish half and took the other half home. It wasn't as good at home, so I'll try to finish it next time. It came with a side of their mac salad, which was also good. My friend also ordered the Portobello Sliders ($7), which was really incredibly sweet! They must have slathered the mushrooms with some type of sweet marinade. Hands down, 5 stars for food, location and service. Me and my boyfriend came here as a recommendation from someone else and boy we were happy we came! We were instantly greeted by Parker behind the bar and he gave us some insights as to what we could try. Me and my boyfriend were going to split something and Parker ended up hooking us up instead and gave us another entree of our choice to try since we were first-timers.
