This is a cute little cafe to have brunch at. They have a variety of coffees, fresh pressed juices, and booze if you're in the mood. They have patio seating outside so you can soak in the sun, people watch, and enjoy a nice meal. I lovedddd the caramelized Tahitian vanilla French toast! It had a little crunch from the caramelization of the vanilla on the French toast. We added the strawberry, blueberry, and chantilly cream to it. Perfect blend of sweet, tangy, fluffy, with a little crunch. Definitely a good sweet treat to start the day. I got a spinach, Swiss cheese, bacon omelet. The hash browns were pretty good! Crunchy, salty, and went well with the eggs. I was hoping for more of a coffee flavor in the white mocha. They make the whipped cream from scratch. The mocha was mid. I would say this place is a lil over a 4 star place. The beach bowl is an açaí bowl on top of Greek yogurt. I thought it was a little too tangy for my taste. I think having either the yogurt or açaí bowl works better than mixing the two.
Came to shoreline kitchen during a quick san diego trip! We came on a saturday morning around 9:30 AM and there was no wait. Parking around is a bit hard to find, ultimately had to park a few blocks down. We got the maple chicken sandwich and an eggs benedict and both were really good. Service was 10/10
In the area for a wedding and stopped by this brunch place. It was phenomenal. We got the chicken sandwich and the spinach/mushroom omelette. Both flavors were amazing!! Service was also good. Recommend
Food was amazing. Nice robust flavor from the béarnaise sauce on the Salmon Benedict. Waiter was very pleasant. He asked what kind of side of toast did I want with my Benedict, I responded with "oh? There's toast included? Maybe Rye?" And he said "oh no, my apologies, it doesn't come with toast". I must have had a really sad look on my face when I said "oh ok". because he said "you know what, I'll throw in a side of complimentary toast". Anyways, great little niche close to the ocean. Nice light cool breeze. Street Parking was easy to find
The food was delicious. The bacon and hashbrowns were crispy, the eggs weren't watery like some places can be. They had freshly squeezed orange juice. Service was fast and our waitress Jade was kind. We also got to sit outside and it was a beautiful day but their patio is also covered so you're not always exposed to the sun if you didn't want to be. I would absolutely drive an hour and a half back for breakfast
I came for brunch on a Thursday around 11:30 and the place was busy, but not overly packed so seating was quick. I got the Classic Benedict, with the Crispy Hash Browns, and though the hollandaise was delicious there were some problems with the texture of the English Muffin. One side (that came with an already punctured-ish egg) was really tough and hard to cut through. However, the other side was light and fluffy. Another part I wasn't a fan of was that their Canadian Bacon leaned on a thicker cut and a saltier side; but there was still a generous amount of slices. Service was great and were kind in making some modifications to the menu with the scramble. There was also not a long wait time for the food to come out. Ambience leans towards beachy with a nice outside patio and a cozy seating on the inside. Though I didn't fully enjoy the item I got, I would go again and try others of their classic brunch or lunch menu.

We came in at 1pm on Sunday and quickly got a table. Thankfully we just had our party of 2. I did see the Yelp waitlist showed 17-30 min but we got right in and seated outside. We were quickly seated but I wish the rest of the experience would have been faster. Our server took our order after 10 min. FOOD- it took a while to get our food. 40 minutes after ordering and a guest that came after us got their food before us. -Monterey omelette - 8.5/10- my husband thought it was good with the chiles and made with quality bacon. -Egg white Mediterranean omelette- 8/10 - I liked that they offered healthy options. The omelette wasn't soaked in oil which was appreciated! -Caramelized Tahitian French toast 10/10 - I had a bite and this was delicious. We did have to ask for syrup though. Overall, this is a tasty place but maybe avoid sitting out front or going on a busy day.

Fee options but when we stopped at Shorehouse Kitchen we knew we'd be happy with the choice as the person who greeted us was friendly and said "take your time". The roasted red pepper bisque had grilled cheese toast that was tasty and filling. The cucumber avocado sandwich with the seasoned fries complimented the soup perfectly. They also serve breakfast foods as well. Plenty of seating indoor, covered patio and on the street dining. Any seat is the right seat
Cute spot at one end of the La Jolla shores downtown strip with lots of outdoor, dog-friendly seating. They even have a full doggie menu! We arrived at 1 on a Sunday and I added us got the yelp waitlist while walking up. However upon arrival a minute later there were multiple tables available and they were able to seat us right away. Yelp said there was a 10-min wait with a few parties in front of us, so would not rely on yelp waitlist in the future.. Menu looked great, with classics as well as special items. Something for everyone between the breakfast and lunch menus, as well as a pretty extensive cafe and alcoholic menu. I was eyeing the Kyoto coffee, juices, and samovar teas, but landed on the St. George Ibarra Mocha instead since my MIL went for a spritz and we're on holiday! It wasn't too sweet but definitely a nice treat and best as a dessert after our savory lunches. Her limoncello spritz was also super yummy and both were booooozy. Carnitas poblano cornbread benedict - I don't typically get Benedicts but this sounded intriguing and so glad we got it. Perfectly poached eggs and flavorful carnitas on this great cornbread - no hollandaise needed (kept on side). The hashbrowns were crispy as promised. Quinoa pear pomegranate salad was a great combo of flavors and textures! Filling even without adding more protein (though recommend adding perhaps salmon). Tarragon chicken salad was ok - surprisingly underseasoned, not very flavorful, and the chicken was chopped smaller than I prefer. I'd skip. It was a very light dish, if that's what you're feeling! Great friendly service which we appreciated. The pastries inside looked really good too. I'd love to try a bite of those, their mango guava pancakes, and poblano white chicken chili in the future.
I grew up in La Jolla, so I have been coming to this street for decades to dine and can honestly say Shorehouse Kitchen is one of my favorites, in terms of breakfast. We stopped in this morning for brunch and had a wonderful meal. We were a party of four and arrived around 9:30 and did not have to wait at all for a table. Inside is quite large they have outdoor and indoor seating available and many different table size options. Our server was polite and everything that we ordered came out very fast. Parking this area is pretty easy, we were able to find a free street spot very close to the front door. I started off my breakfast with a Salted Caramel Latte and honestly loved it. Salted caramel is one of my favorite flavors so I was expecting to like it and was happy to see it was as good as I hoped. With that theme going I decided to get the Salted Caramel Waffle and also really liked it. It was a thin waffle, not one of the fluffy Belgian types, but more so the type at a Waffle House. My waiter advised me that it wasn't very much in terms of size so I ordered a side of scrambled eggs and cheese and thought it was a nice addition and felt it was a good size for one person. I would highly recommend this place to anyone and I plan to be back again in the near future.
While Le jolle is not necessarily the place to go for food, this is the exception. We ended up getting a bloody marry and veggie benidict and both were great. In fact the bloody marry inspired us to start making them at home so we got the stuff for it right after. The benidict had a nice mix that even included a pistatio spread which worked well. The hash was probably the best hash I have had. A perfect ballance of crispy edges and tender insides. It all might be a bit pricy for breakfast but worth it. The atmosphere was nice but nothing crazy either. There was a decent amount of natural lighting and seating next to it which was nice. One of the small touches that I liked was the addition of a dog menu that they post on their front stand. The staff was friendly and had plenty of good recommendations. We lucked out on parking but It seems like normally pretty rough to find a spot. Overall a great place to grab breakfast.
This place has a long wait on Sunday but I'd say it was worth it! I'm glad that they used the yelp wait list since it made it a lot easier to know when the table was ready for us. We got the following: Monterrey omelette - the plate was a lot smaller than the frittata but the omelette tasted great and also came with a side of toast and hash browns Tofu frittata - this came with a side of hash browns and I got the homemade biscuit. The frittata was super yummy and the hash browns were perfectly crispy and seasoned. The biscuit was light, fluffy and buttery! Really enjoyed this! There is plenty of outdoor and indoor seating! It's located at the corner of a street that isn't too busy so ambiance is really nice! My only issue was that service was a bit slow and we had to ask for waters multiple times - and then our water wasn't refilled for a while
You can never go wrong with having brunch in La Jolla. The atmosphere is nice and it's a small quaint corner restaurant. You can find parking on the street. I found 90 minute parking on a Thursday morning across the street. Bobby was our waiter and he did a great job accommodating us. My sister and I ordered the coffee dream. It's like an espresso martini. It was really good. Sweet coffee is always fun. We were seated outside. It was a beautiful day. My sister had mushroom omelet and I had the chicken pistachio pesto burrata sandwich. My meal was ok. It came with thin fries which was good enough. The bread was kind of stiff and the taste was bland. It was a decent sandwich but I probably should've just ordered breakfast. I might try the Carlsbad location next time.
I'm giving this place five stars because, usually, it's a great experience. This time, though, there were a few things that were a little off. First, while we were waiting for our table, we were told that the coffee near the check-in area was complimentary while we waited. When we were seated, we brought our coffee cups with us, only to find out later that we had been charged $5 each for our coffees. We didn't say anything, but it definitely didn't leave the best taste in our mouths. So double check your bill if you pick up a free coffee while waiting for your table. One of my favorite meals here is the risotto Benedict. It was still good, but unfortunately, it didn't taste quite as good as it normally does. After we left, my stomach was very upset, and I ended up having to make an emergency stop at the La Jolla Shores bathrooms before heading home. Our waiter was also a little slow. It took quite a while for our water to give us water after a long walk on the beach and then our bill took forever as well. On top of that, the waiter commented "Impressive" because I had finished my entire plate. I had been fasting for 24 hours, but regardless, I don't think commenting on how much a customer eats is really appropriate. It was just a little strange. Anyway, just a heads-up. I'm sure I'll come back, and hopefully everything will be back to normal and great as usual! read more

What an amazing place for good food and great vibes in La Jolla Shore. Although parking can be tricky, it's well worth the effort for a great spot for fresh quality food. And it's delicious!!! Allie was our host and was able to find a great place to eat. All the tables are great with even an outside covered patio available. Jade our waitress was very friendly and nice. She was very patient and professional and listened to us in a kind way. With young ones with us, it is challenging. However, Jade ensured that we enjoyed our meal at the Shorehouse Kitchen. At brunch, my go to dish is the French toast that will tell me the quality and care from the kitchen. I was blown away at how delicious the French Toast was. The name is the "CARAMELIZED TAHITIAN VANILLA BEAN FRENCH TOAST with Fresh Blueberries or Bananas and Chantilly Cream, or a Grilled Pineapple". Jade gave away the secret ingredient to me and I was impressed. An applied Maillard reaction with brown sugar brought the French Toast a new level of yumminess. The Chantilly Cream took it over the top, not to sweet and very creamy. Yum!!! Also tried the "RASPBERRY TRUFFLE MOCHA St. George Vanilla Bean Vodka. Raspberry Liqueur, Callebaut Belgian Chocolate, Espresso, Steamed Milk, Chantilly Cream" . AMAZING!!! The Shorehouse Kitchen is a gem with fantastic food and service. Definitely a return visit call for the family!!! read more
Came here on Friday for late breakfast after a hike. We were seated right away but the parking can be a challenge. Service was very friendly and attentive. I had tofu egg white frittata and decaf cappuccino. Food was pretty decent, but not great. Coffee was very mediocre. My husband had a cheeseburger and he enjoyed it. They have lots of standard breakfast options that you can order if you want that. They have some indoor and outdoor dining. And the vibe is kind of like a beach diner but probably a little better than that. So overall a pretty decent experience. read more

They have a yelp waitlist which is perfect for planning your wait. We came on a Saturday morning and got seated immediately since we were at the top of the list. I ordered the salmon avocado bagel which comes deconstructed and it was great! The bagel was warm and perfectly toasted and portions were perfect for me. It was really nice to sit out on the patio - perfect weather and there are umbrellas that provide shade outside. Service was nice but a bit slow - they seemed like they might be understaffed and it was pretty busy at the restaurant. read more

I've been here three times, each times breakfast was delicious! It seems like there's always going to be a long wait, the longest we've ever been is about 15 or 20 minutes. Staff are always very friendly and attentive, even when they're busy. They have great French toast, yummy avocado toast, and then the good basics like scrambled eggs and bacon. read more

Came in hungry and left very satisfied and happy. The food was well made. We ordered a guava bliss 1800, salted caramel latte, crispy parmesan risotto & honey cured bacon, angus short rib & hash brown potato cakes with avocado, and the mango pancake with house made granola & guava syrup. I know it sounds a lot but it was all so good! 5/5. The flavors of everything were unique and new to us because of the combinations like mango and guava. As for the service, our server Chad was attentive and would check in on us. We felt welcomed and taken care of. The ambiance was definitely beach shorehouse vibes (it's in the name)! I noticed a lot of tables available and booths and the beach photos on the walls. The location is really nice too since it's walking distance to the beach so it was nice to walk off all the food we ate after. read more
Spent the morning looking for leopard sharks in La Jolla. Starving for food. We choose this place due to high ratings in Yelp. I ordered the Salmon salad which had nuts, oranges, and Burrata cheese with a light dressing. It felt healthy, satisfying, and tasted great. read more

Our drinks were fine...after several tries. Two of our three drinks were messed up. Our daughter's smoothie had bits of plastic in it. Fortunately, she's old enough she didn't choke. My wife's chai came in the wrong size with regular milk, despite ordering almond milk...good thing she wasn't allergic. Then, the replacement drink was the wrong size and missing the espresso shot. Moral of the story, go when they're To Go counter is slow...seems that they can't handle the perceived pressure of a rush. Frankly, seems that they are in need of systems. Drinks were dropped off on the counter without a receipt or announcement, which led to other customers wondering which order was whose, and drinks were left getting cold. The ambiance was a perfect fit for La Jolla, tasteful beach vibes. read more
I don't consider myself a brunch guy, so Shorehouse more than exceeded my expectations with my last visit. Arrived with a friend on a Tuesday morning and were seated promptly. Service was polite and to the point. My drink, a spiced pear mule, was on the stiffer side. Angus Short Rib and Hash Brown Potato Cakes: my idea of the perfect brunch dish. The hash browns somehow stayed crispy underneath a pile of perfectly seasoned, juicy short rib and two sunny side up eggs. Side of toast to cut the fattiness and I was golden. Pork Carnitas Benedict: my friend's meal. The spicy, flavorful pork was nicely balanced with the rich texture of the egg and hollandaise. They also achieved a perfectly crunchy potato hash without burning any, which is typically unheard of. Nothing more to add. They keep it simple and delicious and so will I - until next time! read more
Relatively new to the La Jolla food scene, this place centrally located a few blocks from La Jolla Shores is a nice spot to stop for breakfast or lunch (only served after 11 am). It gets busy!! So arrive early with lots of patience because it's worth it. They have a reservation system that text when your table is ready, which is very nice! Sat inside this visit, but keep in mind the restaurant is very open air, so it feel like you are outside a bit! Service was fantastic, very responsive and answered questions about the menu and substitutions (which they were really generous about). PRO TIP: it's not on the menu, but the have gluten free bread and can do gluten free French toast! Definitely recommend to combine with a beach stroll at La Jolla or the nearby area. It's a really San Diego kinda place! Fantastic. read more
On a driving tour of the area, we stopped for a quick lunch. My hubby had The Best House Salad-w apples, walnuts. Gorgonzola, and fresh greens. He added grilled chicken. Wait time was about an hour on a Saturday around 1pm, and it wasn't until we waited the entire hour on Yelp when the host told us we were supposed to check in with the desk to make sure we were on the real waitlist. So pro tip-- check in with the host to not have to wait an hour... When we got sat, it took a bit of time for us to have our orders taken, I'm not sure if it was because we were in the middle of a table being cleared etc. but it was a little frustrating after having waited so long just to be sat. The food was decent when it arrived, but nothing special, I was so hungry by the time the food arrived that anything would've tasted good. However the ambiance is definitely very nice, the patio is a great place to enjoy the sun, and the restaurant seemed especially busy even though it was 2pm. read more

Service was pretty fast but I got there as they were opening. Parking: Street. Macadamia Nut Kyoto: Has a shot of espresso in it. I did enjoy it but didnt taste much of the nutty flavor though. Got an omelet as well. It needed seasoning which I wish they told me so that I grabbed some salt & pepper on the way out. Got them to go since I had to be elsewhere. read more

Stopped on a Monday just before noon, it was energetic but not packed. Seated immediately - choice of inside, covered patio, or outside. Clean, bright, fresh ocean air. Service was great, attentive without hovering. Fresh-squeezed OJ as advertised (a rare find these days). Eggs Benedict was cooked perfectly, the Canadian bacon was the right size and thickness and slightly salty. Vanilla bean yogurt was a stand-out pairing. A nice little breakfast cafe nestled in the heart of La Jolla. The breakfast burrito was very unique and I enjoyed it very much. The tri-colored tortilla chips in the chilaquiles were also very good. Service was quick and easy. Very nice! read more
Came in for breakfast and thought the vibe was super cute and laid-back and the food was great. The biggest hack is their off menu breakfast burrito for $8 which is unheard of in La Jolla. Had eggs, bacon, potatoes, cheese and salsa. A little greasy but worth it. The service was friendly, coffee was great, and the patio seating was great for a perfect casual morning. Go early or be prepared to wait especially on weekends. read more

Great spot! Stopped in for some quick fuel before a surfing lesson. Had some banana walnut bread (warmed) and a mocha. Service was fantastic. Very helpful. They have a long list of mochas so was helpful to navigate the menu without feeling intimidated. They have indoor and outdoor seating. If chilly there are heaters so it doesn't strath from your experience. I'd definitely go back and explore other things on their menu. read more
I was pleasant surprised after stumble upon this breakfast spot! Food was presented lovingly and tasted great all around! Esp loved the lavender and honey Cortado I ordered, although it could have been hotter. Service was average but again, everything I ordered was very pleasant and nice ambience inside. Yes they do. Just not on the menu
Do they have bottomless mimosa?
No they do not. I do recommend their pineapple mimosa.
Is there on site Parking?
No. Street parking only, which can be frustrating in the summer. There's a free public parking lot at La Jolla Shores beach that's ~10 minute walk. Also, the #30 MTS bus stops one block from the restaurant. Parking tip: arrive for breakfast…
Is there a kids menu?
I have not seen a kids menu at Shorehouse. You may want to call them directly at 858.459.3300.
