Im Michael I have gone here for several months to get drinks. usually the service is friendly if a bit slow sometimes. the girls are always very nice. tonight I went there in a workout tank and when I sat down this guy behind the bar told me I needed a shirt with full coverage. This is definitely a dive bar, but it's still one that I (as a female) feel comfortable going to. There's a mix of young and old people here but everyone is always nice (no stupid drama or fighting) the bar back Sean is always moving and busting his ass to get whatever people need (toilet paper, seat covers, chairs, ice, glasses...) he's super nice and helpful. And Melanie was our bartender tonight and she not only remembered our drinks (yeah I know that's what they're supposed to do) but she checks in, makes sure everyone is having fun and just enjoys working. I love the mix of people the mix of fun. And great music!! We started in the Orange Plaza then moved west down Chapman. The farther west we went, the seedier the places got. The Pump Room is a step up from the other dive bar across the street. Service was friendly the evening we came. Of course, the draw for a lot of guys is the bikini clad bartenders. These women work hard and endure a lot of staring. Not sure when or if I will be back. Went Sat night after UFC at Tilted Kilt and Anita and Autumn blew those girls away! Let's get this straight - It's a dive bar. Maybe they hate hearing that...but it is. But when you factor in the cool people, sexy-attentive servers, and just enough sketchiness to keep things fun this place is awesome! Anita has an amazing toned petite body, and Autumn's curves started doing these dance moves that may be illegal in some states. Check your debit/credit card statements closely after your visit. I had additional charges on my card for "tips that were never paid" I always tip in cash for this reason. I also went with two other people and after we left we realized that they charged all the drinks on mine as well as charging it on the open tab my friend had. Its a good thing I used a venmo card for this order because according to them there were multipul charged coming out of this card for added amounts after we already left and I had the card in hand. I came out to this bar to attend with a friend who has been here before. It's a bikini bar, not something I'm used to but ok. Service wasn't bad. What was bad was some annoying regular in the corner. He was an oversized white guy wearing a UCLA hat. He got a little handsy with a bartender there but she didn't see to mind. Either way, I was thrown back by it. Today was my second time here at the pump room, both times at which i barely ate any food and ended up drinking some beer, and getting a good buzz! To tell you the truth I used to drive down Chapman a lot, and I always see the pump room, and I seriously thought it was like a tire vendor or something like that, had no idea that it was a bar haha! But other than that, the pump room has three pool tables, a good selection of beer both in bottles and on tap. On top of that they serve you fresh popcorn, along with tapatio, which is actually a pretty good mixture. And you can also be served your favorite alcohol beverage by a female bartender dressed in nothing but a scantily clad bikini or lingerie. My goodness! I should visit my parents more often. This bar is a dive bar due to the patrons that occupy it and the sticky floor when you first walk in. The people are rough looking but no one will bother you. And once you strike a conversation with them everyone is super cool. They serve no food but they have an unlimited supply of popcorn, which smells awesome when they're freshly popped. Because of the limited dress code of the bartenders most of the customers here are men. I saw a couple of women in there but that was about it. Fun place if you want a cold drink and some eye candy.
