O'Hara's is & has always been a Fun, local "watering hole" where some of us, college friends, regularly visited almost every Thursday or Friday evenings while we were students at Chapman U... and now that we all live further away and are now older, we still enjoy gathering here a couple times a year for more good times! The drinks are well made & the Pour is a plenty, Beers are "cold" and the crowd is a mixed bag, it is age appropriate. I celebrated my 38th birthday on June 6th with some of my closest friends, and once again, this bar did not disappoint. The atmosphere is always great, the beer selection is excellent, and the prices are more than reasonable. It's the kind of place where you can relax, have a few drinks, watch a game, and end up making memories you'll be talking about for weeks afterward. Our group tends to get a little rowdy when we're all together, but that's part of the fun. The guys had our own table while our girlfriends had theirs, and from the moment I walked through the door, the birthday festivities were in full swing. Before I knew it, I had a drink in one hand and a round of birthday shots waiting for me in the other. Let's just say I somehow survived the night. The next day, I had to perform at a concert, and I spent most of the day questioning my life choices while trying not to puke my guts out before showtime. Somehow, I pulled it together and managed to perform for a sold-out crowd that night. The staff was great, the crowd was fun, and there was never a dull moment. My single friends seemed to be enjoying themselves just as much as I was, and the energy throughout the bar made for an unforgettable birthday celebration. went to o'haras on a saturday night to celebrate a friends birthday. interesting place. hot women inside, people doing cocaine out back. very congested for a saturday night so people will keep crowding up between the booths and the bar (some girls or at least i hope it was girls grabbed my butt as i was trying to maneuver through the crowd). 3 pool tables towards the back of the bar. mens bathroom is for single use but has no lock on the door (possibly due to people overdosing) so keep your foot against the door as you pee (if you are tall enough and can stretch your leg out that far). beers were cold. very random crowd with some questionable individuals (maybe because it is pride month so you have to guess whether they are hipsters or gay) but overall a good evening to be had. side note: some random woman looked about 35-40 decided to sit down next to one of the guys. we did not know her but felt his chances were high with her until she left and he saw her go up to one of the regulars known as da'quan to start rubbing on his crotch. that observation left our friend saddened because he could have made a move but did not act fast enough. read more

This is my favorite bar in orange. Maybe my favorite in SoCal. Moved away a few years back. Came back for a visit and my first time there 2 years I wasn't remembered! Bouncer was good vibes I'm not going to lie but as soon as it came to ordering drinks the bartender did not attend to us for 15 minutes and only acknowledged us when the bouncer had let him know that we were there for awhile. Bartender was respectful and vibes were great until someone near us spilled some water and someone from the team named Robert got upset and assumed that my party dropped the water and took our drinks away from us. Not only that but when I let Robert know that it wasn't me he stated, "well you should've told me" as if it's my job to do so. St Patrick's Day! I've been here for drinks during the annual street fair and occasionally to watch football on Sundays. I have never been here on St Patrick's Day which is their busiest day of the year. I got there before the evening rush and was greeted by Mike. I had not been here for a while so Mike was new to me. I asked for a vodka soda to cleanse the palate. Mike explained to me that the drinks would be served in plastic cups. I'm used to that because it does get busy during other events and it's impossible for them to chase down glasses. The place was starting to get crowded by Mike made sure I always had a drink or see how I'm doing. Mike made me an Irish mule which was pretty good if you're a fan of ginger beer or Jameson. I overheard people ordering an Irish Car Bomb shot and Mike explained to them that they will be different than what they're used to because of the "no glass wear" rule for events. I loved the fact he explained to them what was different so if they wanted to change their minds they could. Shots looked solid. I didn't stay for the entire night but had a good time at oharas. I definitely look forward to coming on a normal day/evening and seeing what else Mike can do. He apparently has 30 plus years of experience. That dude definitely has stories he can share. Bartenders are SO incredibly mean. I wanted to order a hard seltzer and kept saying that I could have any flavor expect for grapefruit, as I'm severely allergic, and the bartender said he didn't give a f**k. I called them out and they told me not to come back. Good news is I won't be! This place does not care about the overall safety of their customers, apparently. On Friday 6/24 I got there around 1am knowing I still had time to make it for last call since they closed at 2am. The place was busy enough to fill the bar area and pool tables. My friend and I got drinks at the bar and sat at our booth up until 1:30am. The bouncer and a couple other people started yelling for people to close out their tabs, and for people to gather their things to start leaving -- not just once, but repetitively for about 5 minutes. I get it since they were closing soon. Not until one of the guys yelling started to grab my friends drink as she was drinking it did we say something. He continues to grab our beverages as he tells us to "hurry up" or "drink faster." My boyfriend then says to the bouncer "don't you close at 2?" And the bouncer says "no we're closing now" bf: "then why does it say everywhere else that it's 2am?" The bouncer then walks away and continues to yell "everyone get out now". Great dive bar in Old Town Orange. All the necessary ingredients for a successful dive bar=reasonable drink prices with a respectable pour+a juke box+pool tables. Only negative is bathroom is small as hell, so someone could walk in on you while peeing (awkward). Other than that, bartenders are all cool peoples (shout out Jason, Jules, Jake, Mark, Richard (and my bad forgot the other bruddah's name). All in all, a great place to get twisted and unwind in a positive vibe atmosphere. Although I had a great time with the company I was with there were a few things I didn't like about this Pub. I mean, it's a Pub so not to many expectations to have, right? It's your typical small, sticky, smelly ol bar. Only reason we came in was to escape the heat outside during the International Street Fair on Sunday. The drinks were overpriced and I'm sure it had everything to do with it being a street fair. I laughed when they served me my Jack & Coke in a plastic 8oz cup. I don't know if that is there norm as I have never been here before. If it is, I don't know why anyone would ever like drinking here. The girls restroom is small and weirdly shaped. It was hard to get in and out. The one thing I liked was there jukebox. Although it was an Iris Pub they have a variety of music. F this place! The bartender is such a B. The white woman with the glasses was insanely rude. We walked in and went to the back. She was yelling something about IDs. I wasn't drinking and was having a conversation with someone. She all of a sudden walks over and says "I need to see your ID now." I let her know that I wasn't drinking so why did she need to see my ID? She said "you need to show it to me if you're going to be in here." As I was pulling out my ID she said "I hate when people walk in here without showing me their ID." I didn't see a sign saying "show bartender ID" anywhere. If you want to check everyone's IDs hire someone to be at the door like most places. I ended up leaving shortly after this because of how annoyed I was. We decided to celebrate our daughter's 21st birthday here and invited many friends and family to share the occasion with us. I recently had the misfortune of visiting O'Hara's Pub, and I can confidently say that it was one of the most unpleasant and disturbing experiences of my life. I've visited this bar numerous times in the past and it has always been a great place with cheap drinks and a laid back atmosphere. This incident happened over a busy Saturday night. The bar was packed and I do believe it was the Barback/Bouncer who was shoving people out of the way quite forcefully to get to the bar to replace the kegs. As my girlfriends and I were leaving, he decided to shove my friend and knocked her over. Another girlfriend told him that he cannot manhandle women like that and that gf was completely sober. This particular tall white male with dark hark, decided to SHOUT to my friend "learn how to speak english" in a room full of people. Yes, my friend has an accent, but her grammar was perfect. I have never experienced this outward racism in a bar ever. In a world that should be moving towards greater acceptance and equality, it is deeply disheartening to encounter such a blatant racist in an establishment like this. I sincerely hope that the owners and management take immediate steps to address this issue and train this particular worker in sensitivity training or fire him. Until then, I strongly advise anyone against patronizing this bar. read more

I met my friends out for a night of drinks and debauchery before Christmas. Well, it was mostly for drinks. I ordered a Bourbon Old Fashioned ($8). The bartender said he made a pretty good version with rye but I protested. Then he said, if I didn't like it, he'd make me another. So I agreed. I had a sip and I wasn't a fan. No, problem; he made me another with Bulleit Bourbon. My friends and I commandeered a booth so we could sit and chat. They were ordering drinks throughout our evening there. There are pool tables in the back and a few TVs. This is your typical dive bar. The bathrooms are in separate spots. The ladies' room is in the middle of the bar whereas the men's is by the back door. The drinks are cheap and the music is loud.
