The prices were extremely unclear and what I though was going to be 8-12 dollars for a small juice and sandwich actually set me back 16 dollars without a tip. This place is great... if only it wasn't in Rye! Every once in awhile my boyfriend and I will make the trip up here to get some serious raw or vegan food. They have a huge food bar, you basically point and satisfy your health's desire via a plastic box. They have everything imaginable.... and it all tastes REALLY good. Twice while I was in visiting for a wedding the Bronx, and once while road-tripping to Florida. How I wish a place like this existed in Boston. Yeah, it's definitely pricey (think of that $9 smoothie more like a meal, and not as a beverage/snack), but if you're feeling like a lazy, gluten-free, vegan, paleo day, this is where it's at. They have a smörgåsbord of cold salads--beans, avocados, quinoa, wild rice, cinnamon apple desserts, hummus, veg burgers, hearts of palm, the list goes on and on, and changes regularly. They have homemade juices and nut milks, young coconut, and the jumping jack smoothie is def a way you can fill up. If you're driving from boston to dc, this is a pleasant stop just before getting into the hell that is manhattan. They also have an on-site nutritionist to answer all your question. read more

I've been vegan for a year now and was excited to check out this place! Once walking in it was a cool vibe. They have a buffet bar which is 14.99 a pound or you can order items where they have a set price. I was happy to see all the vegan items in the buffet and picked about 6 different veggies. It was 23.00. I know vegan food can be expensive for really no reason but cmon! And I got a stuffed cabbage item that probably was the majority of the weight of the plate! DISGUSTING!! I felt like I was on fear factor and had to eat this pile of nail polished flavoring veggie. Really gross. I asked to exchange it and they were kind to let me pick a few other items. Ate here with the LivingTheCRWay head (Paul McGlothin and his wife) over Thanksgiving weekend. They have zucchini pasta, lentil burgers, tofu towers, and many other unique foods - much of it unfried. It's one of the best restaurants for those who like to eat large quantities of low-calorie vegan foods (after all, there's a reason why Paul chooses this restaurant to eat LivingTheCRWay recipes with), although I would also appreciate more pure vegetable/salad dishes. read more

I tried this vegan cafe recently with my sister, we were very excited because we are both vegan. This place is very clean and well taken care of and has friendly staff. We both ordered falafel sandwiches, one of the cheapest items on the menu. The sandwiches were delicious, but were tiny and costed $9.45. They did not fill us up. I also couldn't help but to notice that the juices on the menu are more expensive than the sandwiches we got. Overall, the food is delicious but are extremely overpriced. If you're going to charge that much for a sandwich, please give people there money's worth. read more

The food was absolutely disgusting ! Had no flavor whatsoever ! Doesn't even look appetizing ! We stopped here on the drive from NYC to Boston and were delighted to find great, fresh vegan food--and some of it raw! The price was great for the high quality of the food. I had a coconut shake--awesome, arugula salad, kale, elephant beans and beets. It was all delicious and I will definitely stop here again. I have to take away a star because they use too much plastic. Rather than purified water you can put in your own container, they give away poland spring bottles. I asked for my food on a plate (to eat in) but they put it in a plastic container. The coconut shake was put into a plastic bottle rather than a cup. I didn't feel like that was in keeping with the vibe of the place. I also agree with the other poster who mentioned that the foods were not labeled--labels would have been very helpful, although the guy at the counter went through and explained what everything was. read more

I have been coming to Pureganic for over 2 years now, I try and get at least one meal there everyday and I have never been disappointed!!! It is very apparent that a great deal of time and thought go into the preparation of the food. The quality of the ingredients speaks for itself! Moshira's dedication to her clients is simply remarkable. She has spent countless hours with my husband and myself offering us the benefit of her knowledge and expertise. She has a genuine interest in helping others learn how to eat healthy and still be satisfied. She has always made herself available, to answer question, give suggestions and just check in to see how we are doing. That is just one of her many commendable qualities. In a nutshell she is an amazing person!!! I can honestly say that I have tried everything on the menu and I have loved everything. For many years I have tried to juice and meal prep using fresh, organic ingredients and I can tell you first hand that it is neither easy nor inexpensive. Sure you can eat at cheaper restaurants, but I am a firm believer that you get what you pay for. I feel like the prices and portions are reasonable, considering all that is involved in sourcing and preparing the food. After all, I believe that good health is an investment and should be a priority. Yesterday, they introduced a vegan, gluten free, grain free pizza and all I can say is SIMPLY DELICIOUS!!!! I am by no means a vegan or vegetarian, but I was willing to try something new and decided to stop at Pureganic to grab some breakfast/lunch. Let me tell you right now, I'd have no idea this place is vegan if they hadn't told me. The avocado toast was sooooo good, soft gluten free bread toasted perfectly with their guacamole spread, avocado slices and shiitake mushroom for crunch. I also had the lentil burger with cheese, this burger could rival any burger I've ever had in my life. The best part is it's all organic, healthy and good for me! My mom had the Taco salad, and fell in love at first bite. You can genuinely taste the freshness in all their ingredients. She also had a small platter from the salad bar, everything tasted fresh and healthy, some of the highlights included the avocado and tomato salad, spiced cabbage, butter beans, and kale salad. The staff were extremely friendly, and Moshira the owner went above and beyond to make sure our experience was phenomenal. 100% recommend giving this gem a visit if your ever in the rye area. Everything about this place from their beautiful shop, super clean and organic recipe's and ingredients to Moshira's care and professionalism is extremely impressive. I started a "customized" cleanse with Pureganic 1 week ago, and have to say the results have been spectacular, I was able to drop almost 9 pounds in 1 week! From175lbs down to 166.8lbs. Such an amazing place. The pureganic cafe accommodates literally every food sensitivity I have. Perfect for dairy free, gluten free, and organic vegan options. So delicious. The avocado toast tasted amazing and had the exact qualities/taste of real bread. The buffalo cauliflower and the pumpkin pie are also a favorite. VERY slow service, minuscule portions. When they brought out my order incorrectly, they told me to go back to my table and bring it back. Took another 40 minutes to get the correct order, at which time the food that was originally correct was cold as was the food that they just brought out. Andy's Pure Food is one of my favorite places. I don't eat meat or dairy(but I do eat seafood occasionally) and I try to eat as raw as possible so this place is ideal for me BUT everyone of my friends that I bring along LOVE it also and none of them share my seagan lifestyle. It is set up like a salad bar and you choose either a small or large container. Then you can just point away at all the delicious items you want. My faves are the cauliflower, Kale, potatoes and celery root. You can also order sandwiches but I usually stick with the bar. They have juices and smoothies and I have liked all the ones Ive tried. I highly suggest a Thai coconut for $3 in which you pop a straw in and drink in the sweet coconut water as if you are chilling in Barbados. Also a MUST is the Chocolive truffles which are raw and delicious...especially the ones rolled in coconut flakes. The main event at Andy's is their cleanses. I havent tried one yet but am going to in March before my yoga retreat so I will be sure to review then. It is not too pricey and they deliver your cleanse if you live within 10 miles. Andy's is the only eatery around that "gets it". I used to have to go to NYC to eat great organic healthy food. Let's hope that other places like Andy's open around here because this truly is the wave of the future. Pop into Andys and you will see what all the fuss is about. You literally "feel" energized from eating these live foods.
