I really enjoyed the artichoke-style hummus that came with my meal. I ordered the coco shake but it wasn't really good (watered down and flavorless). I did enjoy my Simply Breakfast the second time I visited. The tofu and veggies paired well but the sausage looked odd and was doughy (not sure what they were thinking when they made it but they missed the mark by a long shot on that one). It didn't taste anything like a sausage and the consistency threw me off (i didn't know what it was trying to be). Recently had lunch here with a friend who is gluten free. She was thrilled. I'm not gluten free or vegan, still enjoyed my meal. I had pasta with "bolognese" (actually a lentil sauce). An interesting and creative twist on vegan eating! The first time I went to The Pureganic Cafe I was overwhelmed by the options but the staff was patient and helpful as I debated my way through. Not only do I love the food, I also enjoy listening to Moshira on her podcast "Eating for a Healthy Life with Moshira Soliman". If you are concerned about the pricing, notice the cost of an alcoholic beverage next time you're out and recognize which nourishes your body more fully, "Your health is an investment, invest in yourself!" Skip the acai bowl. They add ice to the acai making it flavorless and crunchy instead of smooth and delicious. I got the almond butter which came with 4 slices of banana and a hardened slab of almond butter on top. I went in with high expectations but honestly the food was just mediocre and VERY pricey. I picked a couple of things from the cold bar options: one portobello mushroom cap stuffed with tomatoes and tofu, 7-8 brussel sprouts (undercooked), two florets of cauliflower and a spoonful or two of roasted eggplant for $20. None of the items were flavorful. I tried the butternut squash soup, it was good but I think they overdid it with the onion, the aftertaste just doesn't go away. My girls had the Mac and cheeze, pasta was overcooked an mushy but tasted ok. All the items here are precooked and they van warm them up for you, but that way you lose a lot of flavor/texture. My husband had the gluten free focaccia sandwich, which was probably the best dish. The chocolate-cranberry cake was very good, too. The worst part though was the customer service, the lady behind the counter was very unfriendly, never smiled and didn't even acknowledge our "bye, thank you!" On the way out. We asked her for a silver fork for the dessert (since the plastic ones wouldn't literally cut it) and it seemed like she was annoyed/weirder out from the request although other people were using them. Based on taste/quality of food and customer service I don't think we will be back any time soon, which is unfortunately because it is really hard to find a healthy plant-based option in the area. With a plethora of food sensitivities and intolerances, coupled with the desire to be cruelty free, there are not very many options for me when going out to eat. I love that at Pureganic I have so many choices, and I can trust that I will never have to worry about what ingredients are going into my food!! I have taken all my non-vegan friends and family here and they love it too! This is not just for vegans!! All items at this restaurant were gluten free except for one of the sides. This is the perfect restaurant for people with celiac disease, because they can order nearly anything on the menu without cross contamination. I ordered the quinoa taco salad, which was delicious! I also shared the buffalo cauliflower which was great as well. The only downside to this restaurant was the fact that that it was very expensive for the types of food it served. However, I would definitely come back because of the amount of celiac-friendly foods offered, as well as the interesting juices and snacks they served. read more

Edit: ok, so my partner is the one that ordered the avocado. We read a review below about a black family that was treated incredibly rudely by the staff. My partner, a person of color, ordered their food before anybody else in the restaurant. Then, every single white person here was served and had the chance to eat before they brought my partner half of a piece of fruit. The fact that another person of color has expressed being discriminated against here and now my partner was pushed aside until every white person, including myself, was already eating, is disgraceful. Don't come here. Racist and bad at serving mediocre food. Hey. So. The service here is pretty lame. I came here with my partner today and we ordered two salads while the restaurant was empty. Then, as we were waiting for our salads to be made, two other entire families came into the restaurant and were served and halfway through their meals when our food came. Here's what we got. Half an avocado with some stuff in it. It took an hour for then to make that, and everyone ate before us. Anyway. We also got *2* cauliflower florets for $8. We got cold brew that tasted like water with the aftertaste of coffee (but surprisingly grainy texture?). The chia chocolate pudding tastes like a vegetable. This place has the most incredible selection of vegan gluten free food I've found in westchester county. I've tried a ton of different things and everything has been more delicious than expected. Being both vegan and gluten free myself, I'm always overwhelmed by the awesomeness of the menu here. My only complaint is the price; everything is pretty expensive. I get it to an extent, everything is made in their own kitchen, which is totally allergy safe. I appreciate the effort and understand it costs a bit more to run a kitchen like this. When I'm rich, I'll be a regular. Hopefully being allergy safe will become standard practice in the future and less expensive to maintain, and at that time maybe you could lower the prices a little. I guarantee that would draw more customers in. My one suggestion for now is to encourage more of the staff to try the food you offer! One guy who works here, I forget his name, but he does know what's up... I've met 2 others though who claim they only eat the pizza. When I hear that I'm like, WHAT?! It was around lunchtime in Rye. We saw Andy's and decided on a whim to take a peek inside. When the door opened we were struck by the delicious smell of fresh vegetables and vegan cooking. The far wall contains a produce rack full of fresh, ripe produce, and in the middle there are dozens of delicious salad items... I had kale salad with avocado, delicious grape leaves, lentil cakes, mushrooms, butternut squash, an amazing okra salad, and a few other incredibly fresh items. I also enjoyed a fresh juice drink and for dessert some incredibly decadent (but vegan) truffles. I was shocked to find that Andy's wasn't already on Yelp and so I snapped a few photos with my phone. If you love eating healthy and the fresh, clean feeling your body has all day afterwards, give Andy's a try. read more

Really disappointed with my recent trip here. It's the first time I've ever had mediocre food from Andy's...and I'm really bummed it happened! This is still the only vegan place I know of in the area (without actually doing a google search), so I may give this place a shot again a looooong time later on down the line. Hopefully, the new people won't offer terrible service here if I do come back and the food will be back up to the quality that I have come to expect from Andy's. What I got today? Chia pudding was something I tried for the first time, and it wasn't bad, but it also wasn't great. The cinnamon overpowered everything...which is saying a lot because I love cinnamon. The butter beans were still good, not too mushy, not too hard. The arugula salad was wilted and the mango literally fell apart when I tried to scoop it up with a fork. Essentially inedible. The sweet potato purée was good, tasted the same as usual, but how hard is it to screw that up? The spinach pies were too greasy, which is shocking because those things were always made perfectly whenever I got them over the years. My biggest complaint, though, was the girl who served me. She was too busy giggling with the other girls near her and kept asking me what I wanted. I had to shout for each thing over and over. Ok, whatever. What pissed me off? She gave huge globs of the sweet potato purée and the chia pudding, gave me three butter beans, and some sad excuse of a serving of arugula salad. Yeah, part of it is my fault because I didn't watch her while she did it, but I never had that problem before. EVER. Usually the girls will go overboard with the servings, which could get pricey since they charge you by weight, but hey, I always got two meals out of it. The arugula was inedible and I didn't want to eat the pudding because of all the cinnamon. So essentially, my lunch consisted of three butter beans, a few forkfuls of sweet potato purée, and a spinach pie. Twelve bucks for that crap. Guess the prices went up, or the guy at the register screwed something up. Will not be coming back for a long, long while. This is a sad, sad day. read more

I had only an hour to make it from our hotel to this place in Rye, get back to the hotel and pick up the carnivore and bolt to the airport. It was a time well worth spending as although Andy's doesn't look like much, I do believe I might make it a stop anytime I travel route 95. If you're not looking for it you could drive right by. If there wasn't a car pulling out of a parking space right in front I probably wouldn't have seen it first time around. If ever there was a need for better signage ... I was absolutely blown away by the bright color of the foods and the vast, yes vast selection. Since this was a take out venture and I didn't eat until I got into the plane there were no item by item pics but the food was fresh, amazingly varied and everything had clean flavors. The complexity of your meal depends not on the individual dish but the combination you end up with on your plate. The elephant beans had a fantastic tomato sauce, the chard almost like a caesar like dressing, the portobello was meaty and the onions not overpowering. The lentil cakes shifted the "green-ness" to almost a starchy creamy cakey bite. Looking down the display from the side. There are like, a billion items. Vast. It's a bright and cheery place which contrasts to the dark exterior facade. The staff is friendly and helpful and seem to really enjoy being there. I did. My lunch clockwise from the orange butternut squash, portobello with onions, broccoli rabe, stuffed eggplant, lentil cakes, swiss chard and I think there was some quinoa tucked under the chard and elephant beans. Talk about eating a rainbow! I don't know if it's the kind of place you would take the family out to but Andy's definitely knows how to combine healthy, raw, cooked and flavorful on a unique cafeteria style venue. I can only hope my travels afford the opportunity to eat here again. Good job. Oh, and of course there is an extensive smoothie and juice menu. I got the carrots, kale and ginger and sucked it all down before I got back to the hotel. There really is no other food establishment like this mecca of freshness. Owner/staff are always pleasant and eager to please. I love the choice of tasty, green items as well as fresh cold pressed drinks. I have found myself craving these vegetarian delights during the oppressive heat lately. There are plenty of tables that seat 4+ and you may be able to grab free parking on the street. The business hours are great for the working individual (open early and close late). I'm shocked by all the great reviews for Andy's...maybe Westchester just doesn't have any good vegan restaurants? I came in for a quick lunch and got the Tofu Guacamole. It took them over 10 minutes to make the sandwich at a "to-go" place where none of it was cooked and the place was nearly empty? Ok, things are slower in the suburbs...this could have been forgiven had the food been edible. The "wrap" was more of a roll-up which was not ideal for on-the-go. The wrap was just dry wrap bread, unflavored tofu, lettuce, and bland guac. Overall really disappointed. read more

Love this place, sad i only just discovered it, after almost 4 years in westchester. Did the 3 day juice cleanse, which was delicious and prepared just to my liking (no red beet juice please, yuck). All juice cleanses are expensive but at $50/day, this one is cheaper than the most popular NYC cleanses. I've also sampled a majority of their fresh vegetables/salads/grains which are all delicious. I go to Pureganic almost every weekend, and my experiences have been GREAT. I'm not vegan, but I do have food allergies and prefer eating clean and organic. The staff at Pureganic are always kind & knowledgeable, and always let me know what the ingredients are; and if they don't know, they'll find out for me. Alex, Danielle, and Stephanie are fantastic, friendly, and always professional. There are more impressive things about this shop you all should know... First off, the owner makes her own chocolate from scratch, from roasting the bean to final product. I have food reactions to most chocolate brands out there, but not Moshira's chocolate. Their chocolate pie and truffles are delicious. Secondly, they make their organic cold pressed juices in the back using some super high tech machine, and they come out smooth and fresh each day. They'll even press a custom juice for you on the spot- not even the Juice Press or Whole Foods offers that. Third, the coconut milk is made painstakingly fresh from real coconuts they cut open, which means the employees have large biceps and their milk contains no thickening agents like guar gum or any other bad ingredients. No other shop does this! In fact, anytime I order a latte with coconut milk from other shops, the coconut milk always comes from the carton or can and contains thickeners-- not at Pureganic. Fourth, all the prepackaged items, like chocolate covered almonds, dry fruits, cookies, cakes are MADE FROM SCRATCH AND IN HOUSE. In fact, I don't know what isn't made from scratch at Pureganic. And, lastly, I'd like to talk more about the food they offer. The soups are delicious, clean, simple, and satisfying. When it's in-season, Pureganic probably has the freshest, best tasting avocados I've ever had. I can't even buy them that good at Whole Foods anymore- I'm not kidding. I've had the taco bowl and falafel bowl- both were great. My taco bowl came out on a tray that looked like a slab of wood cut from a tree outside- it was Instagram worthy presentation for sure lol. I'm a big fan of the spicy cabbage. The coconut yogurts are great and come with fruit options made in-house; my favorite is strawberry chia. Pureganic basically elevates the standard of what healthy food should be like-- fresh and minimally processed. I highly recommend it to anyone. read more

I'm health-conscious, vegan for 7 years and traveling for a business trip for a week. I really lucked out by having Pureganic relatively close to the hotel I'm staying at. Their food is quality, healthy, tasty and affordable. But I can't put enough emphasis on the quality of their food. I have been eating here for breakfast, lunch and dinner. 3.5 stars I really enjoyed Andy's, but there's nothing quite like it in the DC area which no doubt makes it more of a novelty. The chia seed pudding wasn't oversweetened, and my quinoa burger wasn't bad. Seemed to strike a nice balance between raw gourmet and salads (along with some cooked options). If I had this nearby I would not only eat there everyday, but I'd be looking damn good doing it. If they used coconut milk w/ the pudding, it'd taste even better. Sandwich bread was gluten free. This place is a find for those of us who are trying to eat vegan and gluten-free. Friendly service and lots of nice looking food. I had gigante beans that were delicious and quiche that was (obviously) not your typical eggy and cheesy thing, but was tasty and satisfying. Not a lots of table space here but I went at lunchtime on a Thursday and had no problem getting a table. The prices are a bit steep, comparable with NYC, but we'll worth it.
