Been meaning to review The Ranch Pub as my family has been a few times now and enjoyed each experience! The Pub kept the charm of the former restaurant as far as comfy seating and large open space which we always enjoyed. Some nice upgrades to outside seating makes it even better now though. For us, the Ranch Pub is a most pleasant upgrade to the former restaurant here as far as food and drinks. The specialty cocktails are great and food from appetizers to main meals are fresh, tasty, and there is a variety of American, Italian, and Mexican items. My kids are pretty picky with guacamole but enjoy the Pub's and you can tell it is made fresh. There is Definitely something for everyone's tastes. They also have a great kids menu- my own enjoy the macaroni and cheese as well as the chicken tenders. The Ranch Pub is family friendly and a cozy spot to grab a bite. We will continue to frequent it and suggest you give them a try as well!

I'll start with the decor which was beautiful. Distressed barn doors, iron fixtures, farm tables. Nice vibe Our waiter was attentive and patient. I ordered steak fajitas that came with a accompanying plate or a little bit of yellow rice, black beans, sour cream, and guac. I was happy my fajitas came with alot of steak. Sometimes fajitas tend to be heavy veggie We were not sure why when my husband likes a rare steak his came out on a plate still sizzling . So the steak continued to cook. Luckily even though it was no longer rare. My husband did not need to send it back. His steak was still flavorful and juicy. Accompanying his dish was a small size of gravy or sauce. It was creamy with a peppery taste that he really liked. I was full so I did not even look at the dessert menu so I would not be tempted!

Brought my family here for dinner on a busy Friday evening. It feels like a nice pub inside and has been cleaned up a bit since it was the Red Rooster Pub. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. I had a pear old-fashioned which was good. I could taste the peach. My wife had the passion margarita, which she enjoyed. We order the giant pretzel as an appetizer. Which arrived quickly but was slightly burned. But it did not hurt it and the honey mustard and cheese sauces were good. I had a friendship that was good but could have been shaved thinner. The only real negative I'd like to point out is that for the southwest chicken wrap my daughter order we asked specifically for ranch as opposed to chipotle ranch didn't happen. Not the world's biggest deal. I thought I should mention it. The entrée seem a little overpriced in my opinion. But the quality of the food is good.

We recently hosted my daughter's baby shower here, and I honestly cannot say enough good things. From start to finish, the experience was over-the-top excellent. The service was exceptional--attentive, warm, and incredibly well organized. The staff went out of their way to make sure every detail was perfect, and they did it with genuine kindness and professionalism that made the day feel truly special. The food was outstanding. Everything was beautifully presented, fresh, and absolutely delicious. Our guests are still talking about how good it was. This was a once-in-a-lifetime celebration for our family, and this restaurant exceeded every expectation. If you are considering a place for a special event--or even just a wonderful meal--I highly recommend it. We are so grateful for the unforgettable experience.

Previously, the Red Rooster in Newtown. We were mildly upset about them going out of business, but that has passed. The new owners are well-versed in restaurants (experience) and they are doing something great here. Although similar to the previous menu, the additions and revisions are fantastic. Exactly what was needed. We had the Skillet Nachos, Hot&Spicy Wings, and Al Pastor tacos. All delicious. Not the most obviously diverse plates, but as staples... they were perfect. For mains, we had Fish & Chips (I'm ALWAYS searching for the best) and the Chicken Bacon Sandwich. Both were good, but the Fish & Chips was actually great. I'm glad I found it. Servers were very friendly and the new decor was a significant update to the previous. Definitely worth a visit. This place is in business and bringing out the best.

Unassuming from the outside, this local treasure opens into a cozy restaurant and event space with exceptional food and drink. Between the crackling fireplace, plush lounge seating, warm wood accents, sleek bar, and navy banquettes, the atmosphere feels both inviting and refined. The bartenders and entire staff were warm, polished, and genuinely attentive, creating an experience centered around the guest. My martini was aggressively shaken and served in a short coupe, topped with a delicate layer of ice crystals; despite the chill, the vodka-to-vermouth ratio was perfectly balanced. It was garnished with stellar Castelvetrano olives, freshly opened and proudly presented as an elevated touch to the classic cocktail. As for the fare, it was hands down one of the best meals I've enjoyed in quite some time. The Wagyu coulotte was cooked to perfection, accompanied by expertly prepared oyster mushrooms and crisp shoestring tallow fries. I could go on and on about the experience, but I'll simply say I can't wait to return. The thoughtful details and genuine hospitality made for an outstanding night out. The other half of that couple and I shared a Guinness ( he was driving, and I'm just a lightweight drinker!) - a full pint was served (draught, perfect pour) with an extra glass as requested and I did a good job pouring without spilling any! The 4 of us shared a goat cheese flatbread to start. It came cut into 4 pieces, helpfully, but they were quite unevenly split, fwiw. We were fine, but got a chuckle out of 1 large piece and one really small piece, with the other two more or less the same. Anyway, it was tasty. One had the brisket sandwich and he was very pleased with it. His wife had a veggie burger with tater tot's; I had to taste one (shades of my much younger years!), still perfectly salty and crunchy. My husband had the veggie burger with sweet potato fries, and of course I snatched a couple of those as well, yum! I really liked my shrimp tacos; I thought each one (2 to the serving) had ample shrimp well-seasoned. I chose a side salad instead of fries and it was a good-size portion with dressing on the side as requested. Service was very good, food and atmosphere lovely. Unexpectedly good for what I was expecting from a pub in a suburb - exurb? - far from home. It was plenty crowded on that random Tuesday, so obviously folks in the area know it.

Woodbury Brewing Company is a craft brewpub that opened in Woodbury, Connecticut in December 2017…read more It was founded by friends and business partners Allan Cetrone, Tim Budrewicz, T.J. D'Alexander and Ken Mair. After he found his previous employer's ethical standards unconscionable, Cetrone decided to quit and find a new line of work. He and his friends frequently got together at a backyard barn man-cave which was complete with a fridge and kegerator. Cetrone had also been experimenting with his own homebrewed beers. Once their man cave became a popular spot for family gatherings, the four friends decided to open their own brewery. The taproom has a rustic saloon aesthetic (a nod to the friends' backyard barn man-cave) complete with a stage for live musical acts to perform. In addition to the housemade beer, WBC also serves wine, cider, craft cocktails, and a large menu of delicious food from their in-house kitchen. I recently visited Woodbury Brewing Company for the first time. I had heard that they host a lot of live music acts and I purchased a ticket to see Hudson Valley-based Rush tribute band "Limelight". I'm a HUGE Rush fan, so I was really excited to see the group perform. I arrived over an hour before the show started. I had a reserved table right by the stage. There was a modest crowd when I first arrived, but the whole taproom was packed by the time the show started. After looking over the menu, I decided to order the "Nashville Hot GIANT Chicken Sandwich" (hot honey, cajun spice, pickles, mayo) with "Sweet Potato Fries" as well as an order of "Cheese Curds" (served w/ house-made marinara). I was totally shocked when the food finally came to the table. When they say "giant chicken sandwiches", they mean GIANT! I could barely fit the sandwich into my mouth, but it was so delicious! The sweet potato fries were equally big and delicious, and the cheese curds were really good too! Throughout my visit, I enjoyed pours of "Yummy Beers" (Double New England IPA), "Collusion" (New England IPA), and "Barrel-Aged Don't Go Romanov" (Barrel-Aged Russian Imperial Stout). They were all surprisingly good! Limelight also gave an excellent performance to the very energetic crowd. Overall, I had quite an enjoyable evening and I'll definitely be back! I already have a ticket to another show!

We had one of their rotating cask beers and one of their bitter regular casks which is a staple of the establishment-each beer was delicious and tasty! I had the vegan curry dish which was very tasty with veggies, rice and great spice. My friends had a dish similar to Shepherd's Pie but slightly different and cooked with more like steak stewed meat rather than lamb and we all licked our plates clean LOL. We also shared two of the desserts which were vanilla ice cream with some type of coconut cookie in it and the other was vanilla ice cream with a yummy type of strawberry sauce I think. The atmosphere is so laid back as well-like traditional British Pubs you order your drinks and food at the bar and they deliver your food to your table with a number. You are able to sit wherever you would like and I hear it gets very packed for European football games. I can't wait until I get a chance to go again-there aren't a ton of food options being that I don't eat red meat-but I was able to find the curry and could also try the Fish and Chips which looked amazing and I have heard it is great. He did like the French fries/British chips, and my wife liked her breakfast sandwich even if it was a bit heavy for her. My fish and chips were really freaking good. Sizable piece of fish (haddock), nice and crisp, with a ton of chips and lots of sauces (spicy mustard, vinegar, etc). Maybe not my favorite fish and chips ever, but it hit the spot.
