This place is so much better than the Red Arrow. Check out the picture I posted of the sausage biscuits and gravy meal. Awesome, and very affordable

Small diner with great food. Hours since covid are reduced. But Still our go to if we are out breakfast. We have eaten at other diner/breakfast restaurants but it seems like food is always better here. Wife swears by the French toast. I usually get eggs of some nature. Just make sure you duck after walking in door.

I love this little place ~ don't blink or you'll drive right by- - and you DONT - wanna do thAt !! First time in-? I didn't have high hopes or really- ANY expectations, .. ~ but as I'm seating myself where "I'm" most comfortable (and I like that about a restaurant ~ being given the right to choose) ~ I'm checking it out ~ first thing I noticed was; okay yes, it's a small establishment ~ but ~ in it's own way, it's quaint . It's got a cozy, country, sort of ~ rustic feel to it. I'm hearing conversation from behind the counter at the barstool area taking place between not just the customers, but between the customers and the staff as well :) ~ maybe they're regulars ‍ ~ once the staff come (which was almost right away!)- they give me the specials, coffee and a menu ~ not to mention they were courteous, polite and accommodating. When I gave my order ~ I think I sat for approximately 10 minutes tops and all the food you see in my photo ~ came out just as I had asked for. Time for the ultimate and final option.....~!!!~ "the taste test!!" Lol ~ and as you can imagine ~ given my 5 s an'all lol ~ it was absolutely delicious . . The ONLY bummer (in my taste buds opinions ) is ~ sadly ~ they do not have deep fried home fries on the menu ~ as accommodating as they really, truly are!!??!- I think it was the second time I had went back and at that time I threw it out there to see if that'd be something they'd be willing to .. you know.. specially make for me ! I asked they said of course ~ but ~ I'm going to be 200% honest and say: that my taste buds still love Blakes home fries most lol ~ but!!? The Red Barn? Gets all those s because-!!!!!? They at LEAST tried for me. ! It's also worth mentioning that during seasonal warmer weather ~? They have an area outdoors with seating for dining underneath a shaded, circus tent like setting....(just.. no sides to the tent ~ its more of a shade cover ). But it's nice, I've eaten out there and it's very pleasant. It's behind the restaurant, away from the road and noise ~ it's cute . Also the prices ? Eeeyaaah~ U can't beat um ~ they're more than fair. What you see in my photo, plus an additional breakfast order, (when I took my mother out for a breakfast date ), ended up costing me between $20.00-$22.00. Granted we didn't order steaks or burgers ~ ~ not even sure if they make those things lmao!!- but!! With all that being said; No wonder The Red Barn continues to have repeated "eating offenders" ~ ~ once you experience The Red Barn diner & if you're like me and live less than a stellar mile away ??!?? It's pretty easy to call it your newfound , favorite little joint ~ their food's amazing , hospitality; top notch, service w a smile as well as no hesitation to go above and beyond for your satisfaction ~ uh huh ~ yup ~ ! The Red Barn diner has landed themselves a new "repeat ~ regular" lol and her name is: KristineMarie hahaha ~ hey you laugh ~ but ~ you go'head n check um out! I dare ya ~ n then you tell ME that you don't have a new favorite lil'breakfast nook; in this ancient lil' Manchester city!! Uh-huh- don't jus sit there - ! - it's a challenge!!- go -! Run! Quick! To the south end of Elm ~ right up to the front door ~ of TRB (obviously The Red Barn lol )- and if u DARE!!! You go ahead and push that open ~ ....~ but BEWARE ~!!! You WILL leave ecstatically and satisfyingly happy and FULL ~ along w a new favorite quaint little restaurant, on the south end of Elm Street ~ in this smug little city ~ lol ~ called Manchanning Tatum Vegas ( lmao ‍ ‍ ~ that jus came to me sorry LOL !)- called Manchvegas, Manchester, in good'ol New Hampster ~ lol ~ okay okaaaayyy ~ Old-lol-New!! Hampshire ~ enjoy and happy early Halloween French ToastHash and Eggs

This is a pretty standard diner. It states that the hours of business are 24 hours, however I have driven by a few times and it seemed closed. The food was good. The staff was hit or miss - one member was fantastic, another was inattentive. Want breakfast? Okay, visit The Red Barn Diner.

Cozy, historic diner located on a downtown side street. If you're a political buff or just enjoy classic Americana. Booths and counter seats are adorned with plaques commemorating celebrities and politicians that once sat there. The wall is adorned with photos of said noteworthy patrons. The food is exactly what you'd expect, only better. Their poutine is (dare I say) better than what I've tasted in Canada. Add chicken tenders for the win. The pork pie is hearty and satisfying. Their beans are ridiculously tasty as an accompaniment. You'll leave with a full stomach and not too light a wallet as the prices are crazy good. Service is also casual in a homey, blunt way that I appreciate.

This diner under the name Shirley D's (The Red Barn Diner) has been in business for over 20 years serving good breakfasts and lunches at very reasonable prices (under $10). This diner used to have a smoker-friendly atmosphere until the NH smoking ban took effect recently. Under new ownership (June 2007), this diner opens at 5:00 AM for breakfast. Popular with regulars, this place has the basic old-time diner atmosphere with lunch counter seating and table seating. The ceiling is low in some parts, so tall folks should watch their head. Grab a Union Leader or a Hippo to read with the meal! The menu offers typical diner fare including breakfast (served all day): egg dishes, omelettes, pancakes, French toast, hash, pan fries, muffins, & beans and lunch items include sandwiches, subs, soups, comfort dishes (meatloaf, open faced sandwiches, mashed potatoes), and desserts (pies, whoopie pies, & ice cream). Daily specials are posted. The Clam Chowder is HOMEMADE and not from a can. Specials are offered including All You Can Eat Spaghetti & Meatballs ($6.50 used to be $5.99) on Wednesdays and Haddock & Fries ($12.95 used to be $8.95) on Fridays. Now smoke-free, I decided to stop here for lunch, but had breakfast instead. As soon as I walked in and sat myself at the lunch counter, I was offered hot coffee. I ordered a Western Omelette ($6.45), which included pan fries, buttered toast, and bottomless coffee. The omelette had ham, peppers, & cheese which was folded nicely and clean, not greasy. The pan fries (small sliced potato chunks) were light and had very minimal grease. The service at the lunch counter was quick and good including refills on coffee. This place gets an overall 3.5 STARS, rounding up. PARKING: Off street along south side of diner. OPEN 24 HOURS: Thurs-Sat CREDIT CARDS: Accepted

This was our first time to the Red Barn Restaurant, but it won't be our last. Open 5 am-3pm, they serve breakfast all day. The service was great. The breakfasts were great as well. Big sausage patties and the pancakes filled the plate. I had my favorite; chocolate chips and blueberries. AND, they serve REAL MAPLE SYRUP. The Diner has been there since 1930. It was built by the Worcester Dining Car Co., and that alone is reason enough to visit. The original arched roof is still there. The Diner is 91 years old.

Labor Day experiment! We knew that the majority of our favorite breakfast joints would have long lines because of the holiday so we ventured out with a goal of finding a new place without a big line. We hit the jackpot! We drove past a tiny little place that didn't look too busy. We walked in and were immediately given seating for two. Although this place is small, built around an an old dining car from 1920, they do have a long booth with about 20 stools, 8 to 10 tables and a whole seating area outside as well. The food was excellent, fairly priced and the coffee is bottomless. Sprinkled with locals, this place is a must visit for those who enjoy the classics!

    Irish benny

The Red Barn Diner exudes such an air of familiarity that you can walk in for the first time, and feel like you've been a regular for a while. At least that's how I felt. Indeed, Red Barn felt much like a New England-version of my usual spot back home (https://www.yelp.com/biz/vals-burgers-hayward). This unpretentious diner is your typical greasy spoon located in downtown-ish Manchester and their menu covers many classic American dishes with hints of New England-ness here and there (Vermont burger, Maine blueberry waffle, etc.). I opted for the Irish benny (https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/the-red-barn-diner-manchester?select=9NuFSrbG9l5fqcTYYqUZEg). Two english muffins were topped with corned-beef hash, poached eggs, hollandaise sauce, and accompanied with potatoes or baked beans. The eggs were perfectly poached as the yolks were nice and runny. Their corned beef hash and hollandaise were ok. As for the beans, they arrived lukewarm. That was a bit of a let down as I like them piping hot. Honestly, the real reason I stopped by was to grab a slice of pie as I was experiencing a pretty substantial craving for the stuff. Unfortunately, they only had cherry available...and some bread pudding. My server didn't really seem enthusiastic about either option so I decided to forgo my dessert. Wish they had more pie options available. The atmosphere is about what you would expect. They are apparently constructed out of an old train car so It's quite cozy inside. If you arrived by yourself or with a dinning companion, you can rub elbows with other patrons at the counter. Small groups can probably squeeze into one of the booths. While the food here certainly isn't good enough to blow you away, Red Barn Diner is a solid choice if you're looking for classic American comfort food. I'll probably be back...unless I want pie.

    Irish Benedict

I haven't reviewed in a while and we decided to go somewhere new for breakfast. I will just say - wow - what a good breakfast. My wife got the Irish Benedict and I got manager's breakfast with a chocolate chip pancake on the side. Places make pancakes so different... this was great as pancakes go 9.5/10. Irish was 8/10. Managers breakfast was a 8/10. Only complaint was the lack of flavor on the hash browns. Salt and pepper couldn't bring it to life. They were also warm as other people complained about. Service was friendly and food came out fast. No mistakes and the waitress was attentive. Best item that we had was the pancake - so good. Can't remember the last time we both licked our plates clean.

To say the experience was beyond disappointing in an understatement. To be clear, this review is not about the food. As loyal customers who visit Tavern in the Square often we already know and enjoy the menu. The bartender was polite and pleasant throughout the interaction, despite overcharging for food and drinks we did not order. However, the situation overall was extremely uncomfortable and disappointing. We ordered one beer and a green tea shot and before we even finished the drink we were abruptly told we were "cut off". This made absolutely no sense. We were not intoxicated and had barely even started our drinks. When we asked to speak with management the only explanation we were given was that they have had fights there before. That reasoning is COMPLETELY illogical what does that have to do with us as individuals? If that is truly their policy then why was not everyone else at the bar treated the same way? We tried multiple times speaking with the waitress and management to get a clear and consistent answer, but no one could provide one. The responses were vague inconsistent and frankly concerning. At that point we could not help but question whether we were being singled out unfairly. When we raised that concern the staff could not provide any reassurance or clarification they simply avoided the question. For context, we are loyal Tavern in the Square customers and have made over 80 reservations at various locations since January of this year. We have NEVER experienced anything like this before at any of the MA locations. This situation was embarrassing, confusing, and unacceptable. We will NEVER return to this location. Based on this experience we do not recommend this location to others given our concerns about fairness and how we were treated. I have reached out and expect a clear response from corporate explaining what happened here.
