This is such a cute little dive bar. Was not expecting the spectacular covered patio and view. Quirky little dive bar with all sorts of frog decor. Worth a visit! Cheers

Would recommend! Post hike rehydration station. Don't tell your friends. Sit on the back patio for the views and the nostalgia of second hand smoke. Frosty beer & jalapeño poppers hit the spot. Dive bar with a view. To be honest (from one lesbian to another) some of the clientele might be a tad homophobic but the bartender is really cool and has excellent trail tips. Worth the stop!

Cheeseburger, french fries (mountain), jalapeño poppers.

Great music in the background, mellow/country. Service was fast for drinks, a little slow for the food. Burger was really good, french fries were good, though a little soft. Jalapeño poppers were decent. I would go back again, especially for just drinks.

Craig P said turn off at the Colfax exit. Just off highway 174 is this rustic bar over looking a timber filled valley. As we pulled in around 2:30 on a Friday afternoon, we all rolled our eyes. The parking lot was full of motorcycles. What was Craig thinking taking us girls to a biker bar ? But walk straight thru the bar to the back where there's a large back porch bar. (Full of bikers, just enjoying the view and beer like us). The view is spectacular. Miles of trees. Stone outcroppings. Blue skies. Red frogs hanging from trees. And timed right you can see a train ride the mountain side. Service was quick and with a smile. The menu prices amused us more than the bikers. See picture below. $1.87 for corn dog. $6.05 for cheeseburger. Cute. Two cheeseburgers, mountain of fries, wings, corn dog and five adult beverages had a check of $45 for four people. Decent food and drink with stellar view at great prices- acceptable !!! Swing in for a break from I 80 driving and check the view and food out. You may even get a fist bump and a smile from a very large biker.

Right place to just relax and look at the best view in Colfax. Taco Tuesday is my favorite. Most taco you can get for the money.

Since when do I not want change? But then I realized she was asking for a tip. It offended me. I wasn't eating in, I wasn't being served. I was simply paying for my order to take home. You've got a lot of nerve asking that question. I told her fine, keep it. I won't be back. You get paid to take orders and bring then to the front. Tipping is when you serve a table. Somehow it got to where everyone wants a tip now, and it's annoying. I went to Jiffy Lube for an oil change, and they too asked for a tip. That dog don't hunt. I won't go back there either. Seems you should be thankful we gave you our business. Everyone is tired of it. Pretty soon people will stop tipping altogether if you keep abusing our gratuitous nature. Watch and see. I'm not the only one that's fed up.

Drinks were delicious and you can order typical cocktails that aren't on the menu (see the old fashioned) but their signature cocktails looked great too. The nutmeg on top of my pinapple/coconut drink was unexpected but really great!! Service is attentive and lovely. Come with a group for drinks and a shared tapas style dinner. Who doesn't love the idea of a speakeasy?? We decided to head to Roseville in pursuit of a secret place. We found the secret door, knocked, and a young man answered. He asked for the password. Unfortunately I am not on social media and that's where you're supposed to find it. Bummer! I decided to use my own password. It worked and we entered the inner sanctum. It was a cool, smallish place with nice decor. The bar was the first thing we saw. I looked around to see a few tables and couches to the left. It was pretty early and there were only a few people there so we got a cozy little table in front of a velvety couch. I went to the bar where a burly tattooed OG bartender greeted me. I ordered an old fashioned and a raspberry lemon drop. My old fashioned was done very well. I'm on an old fashioned kick right now and love to try them at different places that look like they know how to make them. This one was really good. My friend wasn't so keen on her lemon drop, saying the lavender was a bit overpowering. We had another round and this time she had something different that she enjoyed. My second old fashioned was just as good as the first. It was getting later and more people happened to have the password and it was getting crowded. We were done, paid the tab, which wasn't bad considering how most speakeasy's can be pretty pricy. Overall, it was a great experience, the place was nice, friendly, and the drinks were done well. Give it a shot. Find the password, or use your own if you dare!
