Always love the food is a very grape and for the most part of the service is always great. I am submitting this review because the server was enthusiastic and not attentive at all. I don't need the server to overdue service, but I do ask that the server has a bit of a smile on her face and as the food is served to come back and see how everything is.this server had none of that and that's why she only got a 10% tip. This restaurant is ' Truffle heaven' I ordered the shrimp and mushroom risotto with creamy truffle sauce and it was very creamy and flavorful.the bread pudding was just okay. Was craving pizza and The Red Grape seemed to have all the options I wanted! Service was incredibly attentive and helpful. Garlic bread and truffle onion rings came out before the pizzas. The onion rings are pretty greasy (great if you like that), and the garlic bread is super garlicky! The pizzas do take a bit to arrive, but we honestly didn't mind waiting because of how lovely the outdoor patio was. Lots of seating and the weather was perfect. The pizza crust is perfectly thin and crisp, not too blonde and not burnt. The crust was able to support a good amount of toppings. I wish my margarita had a bit more basil, but appreciated the fresh leaves. For dessert, we got their cheesecake- the flavor while we were there was vanilla. It came with caramel drizzle and blueberries, which was a nice touch. You could see the vanilla bean flecks in the cheesecake, which was creamy and delicious with a good crust ratio. The Red Grape is a perfect option for lunch when you are wine tasting in Sonoma. They have all the delicious carbs you need to soak in all the wine...pizzas, sandwiches, and pastas. I got reservations a week in advance to make sure we had a nice table. And we did! The outdoor patio was beautiful in the fall weather. PARKING Street parking right in front. I'm sure there are lots around but I'm not sure if you need to pay. FOOD -sweet and spicy cauliflower was flavorful and made me really like cauliflower for a minute! Sauce wasn't too drenched over it either. 5/5 -truffle onion rings were made where the breading was too light and was separated from the onion ring itself. Did not feel too cohesive in my bite. 3.5/5 -truffle mushroom pizza was yummy and had a light truffle flavor. Mushrooms were good. Solid vegetarian option. 4/5 - Sonoma pizza is a meat lover's choice for sure. Loved all the toppings on it! 5/5 Server for our table was really nice and the restaurant kept our reservation for 15 minutes because we were running late. 5 stars for that. read more

Meh... This spot has been on my radar for a few years but I've just not made it happen until recently. To be fair, flavor was great, but we ordered a gluten free pizza which was like a cracker. I'm so sick of cracker dough for gluten free crusts that are prevalent for consumption. It's just not satisfying. Even the gluten full dough didn't look much better from a texture standpoint. Thin crust all around maybe more chew if not gluten free. It was fine, unoffensive but not memorable enough to trek into Sonoma for it. At least in my humble opinion. read more

Wanted a lighter lunch mid afternoon after wine tasting so checked out this local eatery. Got seated out in the patio immediately and service was great. It was so peaceful and comfortable. 3.5 for being reasonably priced and for their amazing fried cauliflower. I often take out of town guests here. Burgers, pizza and sandwiches are good. Have been here so many times, I've started ordering other items. Their gnocchi was gummy and topped with what looked and tasted like their tomato basil soup. Only ate enough not to bring the mood down at the table. Thankful I'd ordered the fried cauliflower for the table. The chicken pot pie sounded perfect on a rainy day. Gorgeous upscale restaurant. We enjoyed a small lunch consisting of cauliflower florets drizzled with a gentle version of sweet n sour sauce. We then split a pizza the taste of which was "ok". I strongly suggest that you try the cauliflower. read more

A real casual dining experience. -- Food Sonoma Pizza: a red sauce based combo-like pizza. Chunks of not-so-salty sausages (looks hand torn/shaped), fresh onions and mushrooms. I loved that the dough was like a gateway to all the fresh ingredients. Didn't feel overwhelmingly weighed down by the dough or salty ingredients. This was perfection! Truffle pasta: no. Absolutely not. This is a solid dish only because of the hand pulled, house made, fresh pasta. Beyond that, I was floored to know I ordered a truffle with NO truffle flavor. It had a basic cream of mushroom soup flavor with mushrooms and pasta. Disappointed. (1/5) -- Service Service was slow, even at 6 pm on a Monday night when the restaurant was less than half full and had many servers running on the floor. The one thing that really bothered me, and maybe it was an honest mistake, was that I put my card down, but the server returned it to the male at the table, turned her back to me, and didn't give me the time of day. It made me feel awkward and strange, and I believe that it would have been best to come in the middle and neutrally wait until someone reaches for their card in the handheld payment machine. -- Overall, a decent place to dine. read more

We went to Sonoma on a Monday where most things were closed. We ended up "going with" this place thinking sure it can be good but didn't really look at the menu properly. The food ! It was so memorable! My family really enjoyed the food. All of it actually and almost considered going again the next day to try the other options we didn't get to try because...well, we could eat it all with just us. However we got to try two pizza flavors because they allowed half and half which we felt like some places don't always offer that! With us being vegetarians, we enjoyed the tasty options and even the kids enjoyed trying the "adult" food and started to go for that instead of their simple yet delicious pasta! Great casual dining option near Sonoma Square. Excellent thin crust pizza. Our Tuscan Pizza was super flavorful. Perfect combination of red sauce, cheese and toppings. I loved how much garlic cloves was on it! The corn ravioli pictures had caught my eye when I was browsing places and it was also very good. The corn inside the ravioli could have been a little bit creamier or softer, but otherwise the ravioli was very fresh and I loved that the dish was covered in sauteed corn was well. This past weekend, two friends of mine and I dined at The Red Grape in Sonoma. The restaurant is conveniently located off of Sonoma Square and we were able to find street parking fairly quickly. We found the inside of the restaurant to be warm and inviting and since I had made a reservation, we were seated at our table immediately. The servers were polite and attentive without being overbearing or pushy. Between the three of us, we split the Gorgonzola Salad, the Glen Ellen pizza and a create your own plain white pizza with mozzarella and fresh garlic. The salad was very fresh and extremely tasty and more than enough for the three of us to eat. We loved the thin crust of the pizzas and both were delicious with our favorite being the Glen Ellen pizza. The price point is very affordable, especially given the size of the portions. I would highly recommend dining at The Red Grape. read more
